Sunday May 4th. After much deliberation, I decided to return two orchid plants that I had bought earlier in the week. Most of the buds had fallen off, which means something happened during transport. I'm a retired Florist of 36 years if it's one thing I know how to take care of its orchid plants. When I brought the two plants into the store, I explained the situation. The manager looked at me and said it looks like you used them for an event. Excuse me! How not only rude and unprofessional, but the fact that I removed them from their crummy ceramic pots and take the little plastic ties off the orchids to put them in my own containers and tie them with Rafia and Moss does not in any way mean that the orchids were used previously and then returned. I was so caught off guard. I was basically speechless. She grabbed the two plants which were in a paper bag and toss them behind her onto the floor and I heard the pots break. She instructed me to get 2 new plants but only after making me feel embarrassed. This woman has no place in management. I fill my house with orchids regularly, living room, dining room, family room, bedrooms, bathrooms and the kitchen. The fact that she could make such an assumption shows her lack of people skills. This has happened in the past but not to the extreme like the two I returned. read more

A pretty decent Trader Joe's, all things considered. They adhered to COVID restrictions responsibly, which is hugely important to me. Bit of a line on the weekends, as it's the only one around, which I get... but as such, I somewhat strategically attempt to go here mid-day on a weekday to make certain that I don't have to stand in line too long. read more

I have been to this location several times and it always does what a Trader Joe's needs to do. Actually better because there is plenty of parking. What this review really is about is the store manager, Paul. He went out of his way to help me in a time of need. This place is my jam. They have good customer service, always. They literally have everything I need. You can't complain about the prices because the quality is there. All the frozen foods are a must if you have an air fryer. Overall my favorite place to shop. read more

This place treats handicapped people very well. No problem getting one of their many store helpers to assist you no matter what they're doing. And while i'm waiting for my handicap van to pick me up, they provided me with a comfortable chair near the window. read more

Trader Joes is Trader Joes wherever you find them (except in Colorado where most can't sell alcohol!!). The Palm Springs location is larger than my hometown one, but still full of all the great treats, cheeses and wine selection I have come to expect and enjoy. Same helpful staff in Hawaiian shirts, same fresh veggies and breads. This location has plenty of parking, but beware! You are in a giant retirement community, so drive defensivly and assume anyone walking in front of you has no clue they are in a roadway... read more

I recently relocated to this area so this was my first visit to this Trader Joe's. I needed a large quantity of a particular item, and I needed them to last for a as long as possible. I noticed that the ones on the shelf were going to expire shortly. The store manager, Paul, was SO helpful. He offered to check in the back to see if there were any more there. When he didn't have any, he offered to order them for me, or give me the ones in stock at a discount, or call another store to see what they had in stock. I ended up going with the last option. Paul was even kind enough to give me directions to the other store since I was so new to the area. I was very impressed with his authentic interest in providing such a positive shopping environment!! read more

Super friendly staff, well maintained store. They are without a doubt the best about Covid protection of anywhere I shop. The biggest negative is the considerable lack of items, as they have much less variety than the past. Everything else about this store is spot on!! If you are in coachella or visiting palm springs this is my favorite Trader Joe's to shop at. What I like most about this Trader Joe's is the space and cleanliness of the store. It's in a stand alone building and I think that adds to the charm and shopping experience once you are inside. It's big and spacious! Enough to fit carts on both sides of the aisles and handcart holders can still duck in between! I like the parking because let's face SoCal natives and visitors it can be a bummer just trying to get in a parking lot off a major road. This location takes that stress off your grocery run and it's worth an extra 20 min drive it takes me to get there. The staff is VERY friendly and all about customer service! They even ask if you would like to sample or try any of their products. I love when you can ask an employee a question about product and get a good follow through answer. Here's my example, I bought ravioli from them and it was "chicken pot pie" ravioli! I know, right! Who would try that flavor marriage? Trader Joe's did and it was executed very well! It was a great funky twist on a dish that was daring and really made with fresh ingredients. My family LOVED these Rav's! Here's why i'm in therapy now, LOL, THEY STOPPED MAKING IT!! URGGHHHH The same thing happened with a delicious cheese block they had called dark chocolate cheddar. When I couldn't find either on the shelves, I asked the manager and she called corporate headquarters! She took me to the front desk and everything! At the end she even left a note to them that customers were requesting to bring it back! Above and beyond. That's Trader Joe's! So corporate if your reading, your Cathedral City location has a stellar staff especially at making the customer happy but can we work on making my taste buds happy? Please think about bringing back that "chicken pot pie" ravioli or that amazing Dark chocolate cheddar cheese blend! Not from the area just took a drive from LA to palm Springs and was looking for a TJ's for some snacks on my way back home. Loved how this TJ's really enforced rules during this COVID-19 era (talking aboutPPE). I also noticed the "senior hours" they had displayed form 7am-8am. The TJ's I do my weekly shopping at in Whittier does not have senior hours which I think is very thoughtful and considerate for the geriatric population! They had more than enough low carb snacks which I loved! The employees seem to have built rapport with some shoppers, the only thing I observed is that during this COVID-19 era many shoppers want to go in and purchase all their essentials and quickly get out. This shopper and female cashier in front of me had a whole long conversation about Filipino foods, and showing photos of different desserts. I totally understand its good to have a friendly relationship with the shoppers but during this unprecedented time I think people should limit personal long conversations to be considerate towards other shoppers. read more

I was attending a funeral and wanted to make a lovely arrangement. Time was against me, but the lovely ladies at my check out closed their aisle so I could do my thing. They let me in the back to fill up a vase with water and gave me scissors. I will never forget this kindness and I drive out of my way to shop at this location for that very reason. read more

I am sorry to say I can not go back to Trader Joe's. I am a single mom with two kids. If my kids ride in the cart, as I did in the 80s, I was reprimanded by an employee. I removed my child who preceded to have a 15 minute meltdown- during which, the employee just smiled. I tried to abandon my cart and remove my child, as no doubt, her meltdown reflects poorly on me. Then she had a meltdown over leaving the cart. She is 3. I also have a 1 year old who screams when her sister screams. I purchased the groceries and was confronted by an old lady in the parking lot because, in 68 degree weather, with the a/c blasting and all of us in the car, my daughter was exposed to the sun. I was making another order for pick-up so I would not have to take them in the store. I can only use Instacart without being reprimanded in public. I understand the new and rigid rules regarding children riding in a cart, but to constantly be told how I am doing everything wrong with no help-- I really can not take it anymore as a human being. Stater Brothers and a delivery driver remain the only safe place where I am not criticized and am able to buy groceries without help from another adult. read more

Super nice staff here!! Store Is clean and in good shape but a little on the smaller platform. And parking is super easy so your in and out in a flash!. Even though it's small it still has everything you would want and expect and enjoy from Traders! And great prices as usual! Love their cheese selection too!! Love the store and the products rude incompetent cashiers and staff couldn't give a rats ass. You ask them as question , I don't know is their response, no attempt to find out if they have the product . Or I'm going on a lunch break and walks away . Best one the cashier tells me to move to another line she is closing. I had been in the line for about 6 minutes . So I walked over to another line and as I did that she reopens her cash to let a friend of the woman she was checking out come in with a full basket of groceries I had 6 items and am disabled . I love TJ's today was a new experience and this review is based on today only. I'm moving so went in to get some of those awesome wine boxes they so generously have for people to take when needed. BTW I appreciate them for helping the community out with empty boxes. Today I go in fill out my cart with some boxes buy my merch go to the car unload go back in for a few more since I had more room in my car at that point the manager comes out and asks me how many more boxes I'll be taking? "because he needs for later in the day", I said just a few more, "good we need boxes for other people too" totally embarrassing! And uncalled for - they will and never do use all those boxes in one day. I guess if a manager has that much time on his hands to worry about empty boxes maybe he should direct his concentration on something that matters like operations in his store. This is one of the best Trader Joe's ever! Today I went during this whole Coronovirus thing, it was very hot which I was totally okay with. I love this store and the employees always make us feel welcomed. I have a 2 year old who loves to run and this is the only store I dare to take him cause he just loves to wonder. The store is small but has a variety of things that I can find everything on my biweekly grocery list in less than an hour. My child loves to wear superhero masks, specially spider man and everyone makes him feel special, I feel so sad right now because my bad memory won't let me remember the name of a lady who is always playing with my little super hero, my child also loves the samples and they don't mind us going for seconds as he is obsessed with cheese. I really admire and appreciate them for staying open during this time and still have smiles on their faces. Wish nothing but the best for each member of the Cathedral City crew. read more

My children asked if it was vegan, and she replied that "she doesn't know what that means" If you have someone working in a Grocery store it would be wise to hire people who could learn about the product they are selling. Trader Joe's in Cathedral City is an outstanding store. All of the employees are fun, friendly, professional and polite. The store is kept spotless. Of course, there are so many wonderful food choices to pick from that you can't leave with just one bag of groceries. I find it utterly REFRESHING to shop at Trader Joe's.
