*Duke's is Finally Back* Due to an unfortunate interior fire last year, Duke's was forced to temporarily close. Now that the dust has finally settled and the mini mart has been remodeled, Duke's reopened today on the first day of fall. Stoped by today to say hey and to make sure they're still going to have the rotisserie chicken burritos because they're pretty pretty pretty good. Happy Duke's is back and better than before. I know I'm not just speaking (writing) just for myself, but for my wife too... And others in the neighborhood...and all the construction workers, nurses and medical office personnel who rely on coming here often, during breaks and lunch breaks...and all the people in their cars, passing by on 111 & Frank Sinatra, who need their quick-fix. Duke's Mini Mart is a icon and Rancho Mirage. It was quite a shock to see such a wonderful Deli. Their sandwiches are awesome. And there's always a smile on their face whenever we stop in. Always willing to help and go the extra mile. If You're Expecting a little gas station type Mini Mart this is not the place they are very well stocked and have everything you could be looking for and the location is phenomenal. We went to Duke's today for lunch because I had heard so many people tell me about these sandwiches. It was very busy, with a steady stream of customers in the store shopping for mini mart items as well as lining up at the deli for sandwiches, burritos and a lot of other items on the menu. Everything look delicious! I chose the Gamacho because that is the one that I have heard about the most... and boy it did NOT disappoint. They start with a toasted Mexican bun with ham with provolone cheese in the center and crisp bacon on top, then add fresh avocado, pickled jalapeños, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. It was probably the best deli sandwich I have ever had. The service was quick and friendly, and Duke was there and was very nice and welcoming to the customers. This place is a MUST and I will be coming back regularly! read more

Been coming since it was Gilligan's Island,then Jensons, and now Duke's. Quality has for the most part remained the same all those years. Since it's become Duke's, prices have nearly doubled across the board. A sandwich is anywhere from $10(premade) to $14. Some may be more? My egg n ham breakfast burrito is now $10! Added Carne asada, it was an additional $ 4. Probably the most expensive breakfast burrito I've ever had at $14. Insane price for tortilla, cheese, 2 eggs, teaspoon of ham and 3 oz of beef. Time to start bringing food from home as these prices are ridiculous, regardless of quality or convenience. read more

Super bummed I love there sandwiches and went out of my way to get here to get one. I noticed The lady in the deli could barley speak and took my order then went towards the back and was clearly under the influence cause she couldn't sit still. She was rubbing her face and wiping something off her clothes then proceeded to grab my bread with no gloves or even bothered to wash her hands. I got super uncomfortable. Before she could get any further I cancelled the order and don't think I will come back. She was clearly spun out on something. Handling food in front of customers with bad hygiene is not okay. Hopefully the owners see this and make the necessary changes cause I'm sure I'm not the only one. read more

This place the worst customer service. They do not answer the phone if you want to order ahead. If they do they then hang up on you First time there they charged 21- for an egg salad sandwich. Dukes...still selling Jensens deli food including mexican with higher prices and Missing the quality of Jensens. Everything in the deli $3.00 more than you would get at Jensns and the quality of the store not as good. Its a Shame, I like the location from where I am. The employees are missing the quality of Jensens. I asked if they sold stamps the other day because jensens ways did. I had to repeat myself over and over because the young girl never heard the word. When she finally undertood she replied "were not a post office" with an attitude! Also they don't give cash back either. Diffenately not the Jensen's quality of service and respectful quality Customer Service. Jenen's always made a customer feel like they are special! The Gamacho! This is the old Jensen's minimart. New owner but same-same. Owner is a great local and very nice. Do yourself a favor and get a Gamacho sandwich. It gets super busy early morning and lunch time so you might have to wait a little for your order but totally worth it. Locals' favorite!!! read more

I have visited this store a few times for their amazing chorizo and egg burritos. They're massive and hard to eat the whole thing. It's worth it for the price. For lunch I have only tried the Thunderbird sandwich and it didn't disappoint. Every time I go in it's always busy with people buying from the deli! A must! read more

So disappointed .Long time customer Of Jensen's. DUKES OPERATION IS THE WORST. The Deli employees do not understand a simple sandwich order. My Dinah Shore sandwich was served on burnt black toast. Had to comback for a remake . On another visit I ordered a plan bagel and cream cheese. It was made on N onion bagle. MY Sandwich was made with no gloves on and the counter girl kept wiping her face. I told her to Cancel the order. The Sandwich was 12.99 . 4 .OO MORE than Jensens was and made smaller. When y call in order ahead the guy who answered the phone said he was new and did not how to connect the phone to the deli. The List goes on. Anyone wanting a great Sandwich in the neiborhood Go To Gelsons. The employees are great and the Sandwiches and side dishes are made great. No hit and miss I use to to Jensen's daily. Came here after the transition to Duke's. Decided to give them a shot because we're huge fans of Jensen's and new owner claimed menu would not change. Ordered 8 tacos, half carne asada and half chicken. Tasted like the meat had gone bad and someone had emptied an entire container of salt on it. I didn't want to risk getting sick so I threw it out!! I called the store and the employee said she "personally could not handle" the situation and put me on hold to get a manager or someone who could handle it. Was on hold for over 15 minutes and then was hung up on. $25 down the drain, and still hungry! read more

It is great to see the old Jensen's Mini Mart on Frank Sinatra just off of Hwy111, next to the Quick Quack Carwash, undergoing a very positive and rapid upgrade since the new owner purchased it and took over. This mini market has long been the "go to" place in the local neighborhoods. Jensen's had unfortunately let it go downhill for the past several months before they sold it. On my latest visit today I was delighted to see a large number of employees at work stocking shelves, working in the Deli, and taking care of customers. I checked out the new wine selection and was VERY impressed. The wine selection has been seriously upgraded with good highly drinkable labels such as BV, Beringer, Kendall-Jackson, Cakebread, etc. Also great selections of mixers, including my favorite Fever-Tree Tonic. Plentiful choices of hard liquor also. The Deli section had great selections of food and a super selection of sandwiches, all fresh in appearance. I bought a "Bob Hope Classic" Speciality Sandwich which was delicious, and also big enough for two of us to share for lunch today. Lots of Deli salads and side dishes. Extensive selection of quality snack choices. This is "the place" to go when needing something quickly or when too tired to cook, or for those last minute items I might have forgotten to get and need quickly when guests are on the way over for cocktails or dinner!!! Of course the short drive, large adjacent parking lot, no checkout lines, and the good choices available, all make a quick trip to Duke's so much better (and possible!) than running to the grocery store when needs are urgent and time is short!!!! Small and large bags of ice also, which can be a party saver when needed. Other critical items like liquor, wine, mixers, snacks, and even fresh lemons and limes, all there. Daily use staples, cookies, popcorn, candy, soups, etc are in good supply. The ice cream and frozen food refrigerators are currently almost empty, but I inquired about this to the new owner and he told me that several of the commercial freezers are not working properly and he is working hard to get repairs made. Taking over a complex store/market/deli in the midst of a supply chain crisis when appliance spare parts, repairmen, and even new equipment is almost impossible to find, (tried to buy a new kitchen appliance lately?), is a challenging task. Not to mention finding quality staff today!!!! However Dukes new owner has risen to the challenge and is doing a great job, rapidly getting up to a new level of service and product, and is better each time I visit. read more
