Only bummer, if you find a product you like and it's seasonal or is discontinued (jalepeno lemonade, apricots, cream of mushroom soup, fondue). Great selection of higher quality products. Some of their staples are a monthly must buy. Whether a meal or dessert, snack, or great wine, they have it. Also, they guarantee you'll like something or just tell them the next time your in and they'll replace it or refund you! No receipt or spoiled food required. I called this location asking if I could bring my emotional support dog and was told that that would be totally fine. I made the 30 minute drive over here and waited outside for 15 minutes and once I got inside, two managers very rudely told me that I could not have my ESA. I explained that I called before and was told that I COULD bring him and they told me that no one would have told me that because they are the only managers. If ESA's are not allowed, that should be communicated to all of the staff so that something like this does not happen in the future. Better communication would have been appreciated as well as a kinder approach to telling a customer an ESA is not allowed. read more

Not sure how I haven't reviewed or checked in to Trader Joe's before, but here we go. Trader Joe's is an island/adventure themed grocery store. The idea is that you are at your local trading post. The only difference is you may only trade money for goods. Long before Aldi came to America, they opened a Trader Joe's in Southern California. What was once a trading post of brands from around the world, has become mostly Trader Joe's brands. National brands that sell well, Trader Joe's usually ends up creating their own version. There are some frozen items that have been the same Trader Joe's brand, and in the same packaging since I was a child. There is something comforting about being able to get the same frozen spinach lasagna I did as a child. Though "Two Buck Chuck" is now $4. This location is on the small size, with a small parking lot to match. Coming here during peak hours, particularly weekends can make it hard to move throughout the store. Even when hectic, the staff is upbeat. They never disappoint when it comes to customer service. Checkout lines always move quickly. Despite being small in square footage there are a lot of items available. They always do a great job of maximizing space. In many stores candy can be found over the frozen section. This location is no exception. If you are a fan of ginger, there is always a healthy selection of ginger items to choose from. I always tease my husband that when we come here together, a good portion of the cart is ginger items. Meats taste fresh despite being packaged elsewhere. Lots of fun dips. Good prices on cheese. There are always interesting seasonal items to choose from. I don't usually purchase much produce when here. read more

This is my happy store. Sometimes I stop in when I'm feeling down and because it's such a friendly place, my mood changes completely by the time I've left. They are knowledgeable and helpful too. Secondly, I love the selection. The quality is great and the prices quite reasonable. I often find something not usually found in a typical grocery store (especially one as small as TJ's). The only downside is parking can be difficult on busy days and if you find a product or food item you love, they probably won't carry it forever (which is actually fine, since there is something new to replace it). read more

Trader Joe's is like the Target of grocery stores. I'll go in for just two or three things and end up buying 10. But it's ok but the prices are generally reasonable so if you have the rare experience of buying something that isn't great, well it was a fun experiment for only a few dollars. I like perusing the cheese section and grabbing a sample of whatever is on offer. Those free samples have won me over to a new product more than once. I've also found a wonderful wine - a vinho verde - for less than $10 and I can't be out of the frozen scallion pancakes. Dark chocolate covered pretzels always go home with me too. I came here a few weeks ago for the first time and I was incredibly impressed! I normally shop at whole foods or fresh market but I decided to come here to pick up some specific items that I had received recommendations for. Was not disappointed! They were limiting the number of people in the store and they also were sanitizing carts, which made me feel a lot more comfortable shopping there. The produce was incredibly inexpensive so I stocked up on a lot of it. What they are really known for is their frozen food and I can definitely see why! I tried one of their frozen pizzas which I unfortunately was not impressed with, but that kind of stuff just happens based on preferences. What really sold me was their frozen orange chicken. Wow! It was absolutely delicious! So easy to make, you just pop them in the oven for 20 minutes and you microwave the orange sauce and it is crispy and tastes like takeout for a lot less. They also have a lot of very inexpensive plants that caught my eye as well, but I did not need them when I was there. Highly recommend coming here for good for you and good tasting inexpensive groceries! read more

Great experience inside the store! The reason I'm leaving this review is because after I cashed out, I realized that I had a flat tire and didn't know how to fix it myself and started panicking a little. One of the employees, Dallas, went above and beyond and approached me while I was in the parking lot struggling to figure out how to change it. The Kenwood location (Cincinnati OH) has declined in customer service/customer care. It was noticeable prior to the current pandemic situation. Perhaps the crew members have not been trained in the "6 foot rule"(?) -- which entails greeting customers who are within 6 feet of a crew member. This has been brought to the attention of the store captain and mates, as well as in an email to corporate. Attention crew members, this is your huddle reminder: Regardless of your current assignment: ordering, helms, unloading lugs, etc... greet every customer with a smile, or a "hello", and acknowledge their presence. Remember that Trader Joe's is a neighborhood store. And one more thing -- go beyond the question "Did you find everything OK?". OK? An area that needs to be "kaizen"... customer service. read more

I love this place! The selection is great even though they are not a big box grocer. The seasonal foods are my favorite treats to try and share. The proteins and produce are always fresh and you do not need to dig through all the produce to find a good vegetable. Trader Joe's is a grocery store MECCA. I have previously driven 45 minutes ONE WAY to get to TJ's to grocery shop. Luckily I have moved closer so I only drive 20 min (thank Dog). The parking lot is smaller and can get packed but you bet your bottom dollar I will drive around ruining the ozone to get any spot rather than drive to literally any other grocery store near by. I would estimate on average I save about $75 per grocery trip by getting my things from TJ's. As someone who is extreme fiscally responsible (ie. cheap) this is not even the reason I come here. The quality of food is unmatched, dont @ me Kroger. They dont use preservatives or things to try and make the food last longer which, honestly I appreciate because I don't need that stuff in THE THINGS I EAT. They come up with amazingly tasting food and they rotate what they offer which can be a bummer because sometimes they discontinue some pretty awesome selections but there will always be something better that replaces it. Wow, I have not been to this place in a long time and the craft beer selection is pretty awesome. I found a good stash of beers for great deals. And, they do something that others don't. If you want a single beer from a six-pack, then they will break it and sell you the individual single without any mark up. Who does that? Trader Joe's apparently doesn't stock Jalapeño or Banana Peppers. Why? I guess you'll have to ask them. These items are not the most exotic of foodstuffs. Pretty much ticked me off, as I went out of my way to go to this particular store for these 2 specific items. They had Jalapeño stuffed Olives, but that wouldn't go so well on a cheesesteak. Trader Joe's staff in Cincinnati is very friendly and ready to help you during your next visit. All of their products are top notch & very reasonably priced. Note parking lot is very full especially on Saturday afternoons, get there prior to Noon. My improvements would be to offer a larger family size versions of their greens, especially spinach and return the lunch turkey strips, which I use for salads, but had an issue with the vendor back in November & have not returned since then. read more

I went to trader joes(kenwood location) tonight like I typically do to start the work week. It's been sort of a rough day, and the cashier knew that. He ended up getting me flowers and wishing me a speedy recovery on an upcoming surgery. I believe his name was Eli. Trader Joe's is my favorite grocery store by far. You can find things here that you can't find at other stores. Their produce is always very fresh, and everything is well stocked and clean. The bakery items like bagels and bread do go bad fast because they are fresh and don't use as many preservatives so be aware of that. It can definitely get crowded because it's a pretty small store but I find the people who shop their are very friendly and considerate. The thing I love most about this particular store is the employees. They are always super friendly and talkative every time I go. Seeing them interacting with regulars just makes it very inviting to shop there. I highly recommend this Trader Joe's! read more

This Trader Joe's is by far my favorite grocery store in the Greater Cincinnati area. Trader Joe's truly makes it easy to eat healthy, especially if you live a busy lifestyle, which I love! They have a lot of different salad mixes that come with toppings and dressing. I also love their frozen foods section. Some of my favorites are the cauliflower fried rice, turkey burgers, superfoods pilaf, and acai packets. And when you are in the mood to treat yourself, Trader Joe's has some incredible options for that as well! Their speculoos cookie butter spread is to die for! They are more than willing to help you find what you're looking for and grab you something from the back if you can't find it on the shelves. What is there to say about Trader Joe's that hasn't been said? Great prices, excellent food choices and very friendly staff. Less than $5 for a bottle of wine? Reduced guilt guac made with greek yogurt?? A checkout person that WANTS TO KNOW WHAT YOU'RE UP TO FOR THE REST OF THE DAY?!? I digress. I love coming here and wish it was closer to my apartment. And yes, I'm whining about the trek from Hyde Park to Kenwood. The location and parking situation is why I bump this place down to four stars, and I know this is a common TJ's complaint. If you ever attempt to shop at a busy time it is next to impossible to get a spot. I've seen many close calls of people trying to manuerver around and swipe a spot. I try to hit it up late at night or early in the morning. I also wish they would open a second location in Cincinnati. I know people that drive down from northern Cincinnati and think West Chester, Mason, or even the new Liberty Center would be great places for a store. In addition how about downtown? I love Trader Joe's! From their cookie butter in the peanut butter section to their filet minor in the meat dept. I trust their products! They have a great wine selection, as well. I always check out the employee picks. I've never come in contact with an employee that wasn't friendly and helpful. I've just about stopped shopping at Kroger unless I have to. It's always so full of stickers and employees shopping for customer pick ups you can't get through the isles. I'm totally a Trader Joe's girl and I actually enjoy grocery shopping when I'm at this particular store. Everyone--no joke everyone--who works here is always in a great mood. They'll make recommendations and let you know when new items come into stock, they point you in whatever direction you need, or just have a nice conversation with you as you're checking out. It's a small grocery store, so it has what it has, and I love that. The food is always good, the produce are always fresh, and their flowers live the longest of any grocery store flowers I've ever bought. Ever been frustrated when standing in a long check-out line and there are obviously employees standing around, bored? Yeah, that doesn't happen at TJ. They have a system for when the store is busy and it's all-hands-on-deck. If you ever want to see actual teamwork, go to TJ during their busy hours. You'll still leave the store happy and excited to get home and make a delicious dinner. O, and despite their size, they have a decent amount of beer and wine offerings. When I made my move to Eugene, OR to go to grad school, the existence of a Trader Joe's was a key factor in my decision. Since my move to Cincinnati was pretty much determined by the offer of a job, I was relieved to see that Cincinnati had a TJs. But then I drove out there. From my apartment in East Walnut Hills, this can sometimes take over half an hour depending on the traffic and the route I take. Once you get there, the parking lot is somewhat smaller and busy, so you really have to have your guard up. But TJs is worth it. The food is quality and I'm always surprised at how reasonable the prices are, especially for wine and beer. Particular recommendations are the frozen Paneer Tikka Masala (good in a pinch when you don't feel like cooking) , the log of goat cheese with blueberry and vanilla (a real crowd-pleaser at parties and the easiest appetizer ever), and the marinated pork tenderloin which is delicious and couldn't be easier to cook. And after much experimentation with my partner-in-crime Niamh O., we finally hit upon the perfect time to go to this TJs: 9 am on a Saturday. Just don't tell all your non-Yelper friends...we wouldn't want to give away our competitive advantage. read more

I'm a Trader Joe's junkie. Could easily spend a whole afternoon and wallet here. That's because I'm a sucker for specialty foods/snacks and unable to afford the likes of Whole Foods. Favorites: 1. Chucks. No, they are no longer 2 bucks or 3 bucks ($3.75 I think?), but they are still pretty fine wines and totally affordable. Hats off to Charles Shaw for helping my friends and I through college. And aside from Chucks, as this newly minted independent adult has learned, you can get a nice, gift-able bottle for under 10 bucks. 2. Speculoos Cookie Butter. The one and only. Great spread on toast, great dip for carrots, celery, cookies. Tastes like melted gooey Graham cookies. Similar consistency to peanut butter. Based on the Speculoos Belgium cookies, which are amazing too. 3. Soy Creamy Ice Cream Bars. They are midgets, these 90-calorie ice cream sandwiches. But if you like soy, you'll love these. Tastes a little weird at first, but I'm kind of hooked. 4. Lemon Cookie Thins. Move aside, Girl Scouts. Cookie Thins are light and satisfying without making you feel guilty afterwards These go very well with Greek yogurt, which brings me to... 5. Trader Joe's Greek Yogurt! The best store brand greek yogurt, in my opinion. As rich and creamy as Chobani and Fage, but with a slightly better calorie profile for some reason. Skip the produce and meats. Paltry selection (true at most Trader Joe's stores). Your dollars are better spent at Meijer or Kroger in this department. TJ is best for frozen foods (I hear great things about the naan), granola/cereal, yogurt, and of course, wine. If you want to save, beware of the snacks aisle, which contains the unnecessary chocolate-covered almonds, cookies, and chocolate bars you and I stare longest at. read more

Today was my first visit to a Trader Joe's, although I have heard many accolades from friends who have visited the store in other cities. I knew that their signature soups (which come in pourable cardboard containers) must be good, because a former coworker often brown-bagged them. My son & I shopped the entire store and bought chipotle seasoned chicken sausages, frozen pork potstickers, several soups and rices, asado marinated chicken, picatta and cacciatore sauces, granola bars and much more. All this was only $70. Good thing we ate at Noodles & Company before we shopped! If you forget your reusable shopping bags (which I often do), they sell them inexpensively here. They also have insulated bags for only $2. Don't worry if you don't want to buy the bags, they use very sturdy paper bags with handles! read more

So, I would pack up my insulated bags and drive an hour and a half to go to Trader Joe's in Cinci... (after going to the mall, etc....) And it was just like the Trader Joe's back in L.A. Small, but packed with all the yummy goodness Trader Joe's has to offer. And like all other TJ's the staff is so nice it's scary. And of course, the prices are ridiculously reasonable for the quality of products they have... This Trader Joe's will always have a special place in my heart because it was like I was transported back to L.A. every time I went in. Love! read more

I love the unique items you can find here, competitively priced and (almost) always delicious. Wine and frozen food section is great (try the mango bars, steel cut oatmeal, Indian dishes, etc), love the sweet treats (chocolate covered things and Cookie Butter!) but I have learned that this is NOT the place for avocados. On my most recent trip I tried the premade sushi for a quick bite when I got home. It was the worst sushi I have ever had, I was tempted to drive back to the store just to show the management what a terrible item they are selling. The avocado pieces were so hard they crunched, the rice was dry and crumbly and overall everything about it was terrible. I will never make that mistake again! On a separate trip I purchased a netted sack of 4 avocados for $3. Great price (yay!) but they never ripened! Stayed hard until they rotted and I had to throw them all away. Service is friendly, samples are yummy and helpful to identify new products, and it's usually a lot of fun shopping here. This is a top notch store once you can figure out the items to avoid. read more

I wish there was a Trader Joe's in Kentucky. As it is, it's so far away I only go here if I need to go to Kenwood Town Centre. I'm getting married next week. We're not huge drinkers but wanted to have beer and wine for the reception. My fiance came up with the brilliant idea of buying 2 buck chuck (now 3.79) for the reception. It was the easiest large liquor sale I've ever made. We went in with a cart. There is an entire section of the store devoted to wine. You can mix and match bottles and the cases are right there to grab. We got 4 cases of wine (7 different types) for $175 and walked out in about 5 minutes. The checkout guy told us to have a fun weekend. I'll have to go back to peruse all their specialty foods. But, everything looks well-organized and the staff people were very friendly. We recently started doing as much of our grocery shopping here as possible, and we've never been disappointed. I love being able to pick up anything in the store knowing that I can pronounce all of the words in the ingredients list or that I don't have to worry about GMOs. Sometimes the shelf life of the food (particularly bread products) isn't as long as what you would get from, say, Kroger, but it's worth knowing that there aren't chemicals and preservatives packed into the food. They always have fun and unique items to try - the Trader Joe's flyer is perfect for finding out what they have to offer. I think the best part of shopping here is the staff. Everyone is friendly and very helpful. If I had any complaints, it would be that they don't always have specific items in stock - like if you're following a certain recipe, they may not have one or two of the things you need. I think that's the risk you run when shopping at a smaller grocery store, so while mildly inconvenient, it's never been enough to turn us away. read more

I find great frozen food (yes - frozen food) at TJ's. Things that become staples like rice and bean burrito, arancini bites, frozen artichokes...nice. Some things I keep in stock in the house include the fresh pizza dough (let it come to room temp then go at it); Cooked brown rice (reheat and go at it); and the wine - best choices of best prices on really good wine. I feel spoiled living so close to a Trader Joe's. Now if only that and Whole Foods were right next door to each other. Trader Joe's could never function as my sole grocery store. But I love the frozen foods and plenty of ideas for quick easy meals. The key is to learning what doesn't suck. And what you won't be able to live without. I cannot live without their frozen naan. It's the BEST you will find outside of an Indian restaurant. Put it in the toaster. Thai red curry simmer sauce. Seriously...it's so freaking delicious. Chicken and green chili burritos...best frozen lunch... French onion soup...the soup is strangely frozen in two perfect bowl shaped servings. powerberries....a strange concoction of berries covered in dark chocolate marketed falslely as some sort of healthy snack. it's not healthy when you eat the whole bag.... The staff is knowledgeable and super friendly! For such a small store they have a wonderful fresh produce section filled with hard to find items at great prices. Try the Trader Joe's brand products.
