I love Trader Joes in general. This store is closest TJ to me. My only problem with this location is the parking. It is almost always difficult to find a spot. What can I say, this place never fails! Trader Joe's is a great brand and this specific location is just perfect. There has never been anything that I wasn't satisfied in purchasing at Trader Joe's and even though it has the reputation of being expensive I completely disagree. The pastas are inexpensive (like dollar store pricing) so I always tell college students to get their pastas there...and with their samplers in the back you get great ideas of simple and easy recipes to make. Now for any holidays I love how they highlight different seasonal products as you walk in or at the end of each isle. At Christmas they come out with great little Christmas sets and perfect things to get for making for the family. They also have tons of seasonal plants and wreaths and get yourself an advent calendar (less that $10) as they do sell out. One thing I have learned here is to get it when you see it because it it is seasonal it will sell out. Men-take note: this is a great and perfectly priced places to get flowers, gorgeous roses, bundles of lavender or even beauty products like face washes, hand creams, or micellar tonic facial wipes to keep the women in your lives happy! Dog lovers: the treats here are phenomenal! I have a French bulldog with a sensitive tummy and he has done very well with several of the treats here. And they are inexpensive and great quality! Wine or beer lovers-the wines are great and inexpensive! Makes trying or pairing new wines fun! Beer lovers they have tons of craft beers and you can creat your own 6 pack in which they have a holder next to the beers and you put whatever beers you like so it great to docfor beer tasting or to add variety to your kife I love Trader Joe's and shop here weekly! I highly recommend this store as everyone is so friendly and kind and helpful when looking for something new...one employee even opened up several bags of different pretzels so a customer and I could try and compare different brands. I had to add that I made amazing gyros with garlic nan bread in the frozen section and they turned out amazing and quick! Everyone loved them! This Trader Joe's is larger than my hometown branch. That explains why they have a larger selection of products too. Also, they have wider aisles which I found very convenient. It lessens the traffic in the aisles quite a bit. For me, there are two factors that set Trader Joe's stores apart from the competition. I mean, every TJ's has great service, but for some reason, these guys in Escondido just seem to go above and beyond when I need help. This TJ's has super friendly, helpful employees. The parking lot has some problem areas, and can be a nightmare at times because of the narrow entrance and divided parking lot. In general, I like most of the Trader Joe's products. I buy my eggs, milk, bacon, mushrooms, chocolate, cereal, nuts, and olive oil here. I have given up buying any kind of bread here, because it is either stale, or goes moldy immediately. I'm bummed that some of the best items are holiday only, and that they keep retiring products after I get addicted to them. I also have an alcohol allergy, and I get fatigued trying to read every single label. Lately it seems that more & more of the products have alcohol in them, I guess they think it makes it fancier? My local Trader Joe's. I love coming here.... for samples! It's great they have samples because it gets people to try their products. A few times I have purchased every item they had to sample. Love browsing what kind of plants they have. I love it when they have succulents. I have taken a few home with me. Some have lived and some have died... I don't know how to take care of plants. I love Trader Joe's products. I mainly come here for their yogurt. The yogurt that says vanilla & cream is my favorite. They have this good goat cheese with apples also. I'm so totally bummed. I use to love this store. Great products, great employees. I went shopping there this morning, the manager or whoever he was actually hunted me down, asked me if I was the one driving a Denali, when I said yes he told me my dogs were very agitated and seemed in distress. My dogs are Protection dogs, they bark at people that get near the vehicle, I told him I'm just about done and I'll be out of here. Well someone called the police on me. The officer walked up, looked at the dogs. Said someone called saying the dogs were distressed and in the vehicle for more than 30 min then said, these dogs look fine and they don't look like there's a problem. I wish people would mind thier own business. Maybe find a hobby and keep themselves out of others business. My dogs are the happiest most spoiled dogs anyone will ever know and they are good protectors in this insane world. I'll find another Trader Joe's to shop at. One that has nice people and not nosy crabby ass people with nothing better to do. My love for Trader Joe's rings strong and for this particular location, albeit being more busy than my usual go-to, was much better considering the larger size and the fact that it was stocked to the brim! I even saw some fresh and frozen items that I've never seen at other spots. And trust me, I've been to almost all of them in North County, lol. Addict much? I was looking for their peach bellini and other stuff and the friendly gal that helped was awesome and quick to lead me over to where my items were plus made a few recommendations which I then added to my basket of goodies. I'm a big fan of their chicken soup dumplings and they were out at RB...lucky for me, they had a ton here so I stocked up. I also recommend their chicken picatta (a staple of mine) shumai and gyoza to whip up a quick meal in a pinch when you want something substantial but don't want to spend hours poring over a hot stove. Co-habby is a fan of their ridiculously low-priced Malbec...cheap, but tasty wine? Yes please! Parking is a million times better because of the larger lot they share with other stores in the area. I realize that often we have to pay a little bit more to maintain a healthy lifestyle. But isn't living worth it? This Trader Joes store is pretty much like many of the others in it's basics. But I definitely love its setup! It is compact in it's presentation and the convenience of everything being organized right where you need it. It's just great! I am a Trader Joe's groupie and this is one of my favorite locations. Carlsbad is my "home" TJ's but I do stop by here whenever I'm east-bound. The parking lot is pretty easy to get in and out of compared to some other TJ's and it's relatively non-crowded inside. Their floor plan is decently spacious and it's relatively easy for me to find stuff even though they're on a different floor plan from the other TJ's I go to (why do they all have to be different from each other??). For those who don't already know the awesomeness that is TJ's: I love the Trader Joe's brand products. Their policy of never using GMO's and always using natural foods makes it *almost* unnecessary to read the labels when buying. They have lots of yummy sauces, dips, appetizers, seafoods, sweets, snacks, grains, nuts, fruits/veggies, and pretty much everything in between - not to mention their great selection of cheap-to-mid-priced wines! Their prices are typically (but not 100% of the time) lower than those at the regular grocery stores. They have TONS of quick-and-easy yet healthy AND tasty options. When I'm feeling lazy or short on time, I just head over to their freezer section where you can choose from single-meal frozen entrees or you can grab a bag of fish, bag of frozen veggies, and a bag of frozen rice and just throw everything in the oven together to feed a family with minimal effort. They also have a selection of pre-prepared fresh foods as well. The only thing I don't buy here is fresh meat because of its price - but you can't beat the prices on their frozen seafood though! This Trader Joe's is probably one of the larger ones I've seen here in Southern California and the parking lot isn't some crazy maze that makes me want to cry in torment. It was a bit busy when we were there but no massive issues. We went in for just a few items and got to try a bunch of samples during their holiday celebration thing they had going on. Everyone we spoke with was kind and polite. The return we had to do was simple and painless without them blinking an eye. The shelves/aisles were well stocked (except the tomatoes I needed of course haha). Since this store is larger you have ample room to go through the store and I know for some using some sort of walking aid (wheelchair, crutches, etc) this would be of benefit. (I'm seen some tiny TJs before like up in Caramel mountain area) Also the bathroom was very clean and well stocked. What more could you want? read more

I really like this Trader Joe's - it's not especially large but the aisles are wide open and it makes for a nice shopping experience. Like all TJ's, employees are super friendly and helpful. Parking lot is better than many TJ's. I usually go to Carmel Mountain Ranch or Mira Mesa (closer for me) but I like Escondido better since parking/traffic is more mellow. People may think they are expensive but that is relative. For example: an awesome chocolate croissant is $4 for 4 and it's as good as what you would get at a restaurant, lamb vindaloo less than $5 great dinner or lunch. Only suggestion: For items that can be given as gifts (skin care, holiday treats etc: if the label TJ can be smaller and the design more decorative? that would just be perfect! Traders Joes is always somewhat of a bittersweet experience just because it is not a luxury we have in Hawaii! However, I love stocking up on things while I am on the mainland. One of the things I love is that they usually have samples to try out some products. It's a great way to move out of the comfort zone of your normal shopping list. In addition, the produce is fresh and affordable. TJs stocks conventional and organic produce as well as dried fruits, nuts and canned goods. It is a great variety that will stock any kitchen! Their beans are great and they have a wide variety of flavors, roasts and grinds. - Nut butters- the prices are so great and these are delicious fall-backs for quick meals. - DOG TREATS- I know, I know, it sounds strange but their prices are so affordable and my dogs have never had a treat they didn't like from TJs! - Trail Mix bags: the mixes are different but always great. It's a healthy snack to always have on hand! No wonder I am partial to this place- their aloha attire and attitudes have me feeling like I am back on the islands! I avoided grocery shopping until the last minute and it had to be a Fri - after work - and pay day. This is the closest TJ's on my way home from work so decided to bare the crowds and traffic. This TJ's is kind of distant from the freeway. It's off the 15N Center City Parkway exit about 2 miles north. I drive into the parking lot and find tons of parking. Hmmm... I walk into the clean and spacious store and no crowds at all. Either I must have lucked out or this TJs do not get the crowds as the other stores do. There were several employees that went around and asked if you needed help finding anything, which was awesome since I had no clue where some of my staple items were located. Upon checkout, I noticed the various "characters" at each station - from piercings to crazy colored hair to 80s lookin' make up. Is it Halloween?! Despite this oddity, it doesn't reflect on their customer service and their relationship with the customers. read more

I do appreciate being able to try new items before taking them home, but they also have a fantastic return policy. I can get most of my groceries here, but still have to do some shopping elsewhere. Gotta love all the fresh and organic options! This has become my new favorite go to for anything and everything! The parking lot is somewhat hard to maneuver around and the location is hidden away in the corner of the shopping center, but definitely worth going to this hidden gem! I really liked this Trader Joe's location in south Escondido, just don't try parking here on Thanksgiving Day! CRAZY! The staff was very helpful and busy restocking the shelves while we shopped.
