I can see why people like this place. Not necessarily the location but Trader Joe's in general. Went in not expecting to get anything while my friend shopped and next thing I know I'm walking out with an entire basket full. Came in on a Sunday night and I couldn't believe how many employees there were restocking the shelves during business hours. They were all super friendly and talkative. My cashier did me a solid and gave me a bag since I had over an hour drive home and frozen food. Place rocks in my books. read more

I haven't been to Trader Joe's in years. I came here because my daughter loves their specialty ravioli. During this season, they're King of pumpkin sliced items! They have a great selection of foods for the health conscious. This is one of the few supermarkets that sell beer, so make sure you have your ID handy! read more

Great variety in this well organized and fun Fairfield store full of new items to explore and experience. As you can tell from the pictures, garlic anything is a favorite. I don't know why the manager Sarah is SO rude to me all of the time. Instant attitude all of the time and I've heard her be rude to others too when I've been in earshot, I'd love to know what I ever did to her. I called today to ask a simple question about item availability and she spoke down to me like I was a child and I had done something really bad. I asked for her name because I had missed what she said when she first answered and sure enough it was her. All the other employees there and in Milford and Westport are ALWAYS so nice. She needs some training in kindness if she is dealing with the general public. Seems like either she has something against me and/or her job. read more

Trader Joe's is right around the corner from my job and I usually come here for salad's, a healthy snack and eggs because there eggs seem to much more cheaper than any other grocery stores. The customer service is great. The staff are always happy and willing to help the customer. The only thing I would say is parking could be terrible as it is in plaza with shared stores that share parking. read more

Idk, giving this place stars is a mixed bag. The parking lot is horrendous - that's like negative 10 stars. The Fairfield clientele is annoying - another negative ten stars. The store is large - plus 10. The staff is awesome - another plus 10. And, the overall fabulousness that is Trader Joe's and they are even in Connecticut at all is a plus 10. Love Trader Joe's the only problem is parking. People get an attitude when it comes to parking. Regardless the prices are really good especially on the produce which most of the time is fresh and organic. In addition you will be able to find all kinds of different products and you have to try their sampling section. Usually they have all kinds of great tasting items. I really have to commend Trader Joe's for their responsible practices during this pandemic. TJs is opening and running their stores in a much more cautious and careful fashion than other area grocery stores. Every employee wears masks. They have extra monitors they've hired to stand outside and in all the aisles to make sure customers are behaving responsibly. None of the other grocery stores in the area have the same level of control and precautions. They have ample paid sick leave, and close their stores immediately when any employee is sick. I haven't seen any other stores doing this. I would absolutely go there over any others stores in this time. read more

Haven't been here in a while, but loved it when it was right around the corner from me when I lived in Fairfield. So many unique and delicious items. Some favs: There's a 3 layer hummus or roasted red pepper, original and pesto. Frozen chocolate covered banana pops. Frozen green tea mochi. Wonderful location, I usually end up going in the morning with my toddler and the staff is always so friendly and do a great job! The check out girls we have had are always so friendly to my son and he loves it! On our last visit it was quite cold and as I loaded the car up with groceries and was loading my son in his car seat one of the cart guys came out and took my cart for me which I really appreciated! I highly recommend this location, you probably know all about the Trader Joe's food but this location has been my favorite! Keep up the great work!! read more

It is Turkey day eve and it shouldn't be surprising that I have had to visit twice today. Both times everyone was super friendly and helpful. From my sushi friend manager to the wonderful cashiers and their great hats! I just wanted to especially mention Tiffany who in my opinion won the hat contest even if it wasn't an official. I noticed her cooked Turkey hat was not there when I left and she gave it to a young customer. Tiffany, you are awesome and so Is Trader Joe's! Used to come here years ago, and recently started coming back due to the Stop& Shop strike. Definitely where I will be doing my grocery shopping from now on. The parking lot can get pretty packed, but I love that it's a smaller store with great quality products. I also tend to find things that I usually wouldn't in another bigger grocery store. The prices are great also at this store! I feel like I get more- and better- products for the amount of money that I spend. The employees are always friendly, and I always have a good experience when I come here. read more

Great staff, quality food, good prices! Also during the corona outbreak they implemented protective measures fast to protect customers and staff! Senior citizens have the first hour of the store opening to shop. Then they only have limited customers inside, following a path throughout the store to keep everyone safe. They also have 2-3 employees outside monitoring the line of customers to keep 6 ft apart and explaining how to move in the store. Their staff does all this during a pandemic with smiles on their faces and kind words! read more

The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because I sometimes feel like I need to sleep for 2 days straight in order to recover from going there when it's crowded. I avoid TJ's like the plague around dinner time and on the weekends. That's when all of the Fairfield moms stand in the isles with their eyes glazed over looking like they're hoping someone will conveniently kidnap their screaming children. It makes me wish I had a cow pusher attached to the cart. Other than that I go there for their uniquer flower selections (although you have to get there before 3 or 4 if you want a decent selection) and basics when I would rather not go to stop 'n shop. If you only go to Trader Joe's in Fairfield for the customer service alone, then you will be a better shopper for it. Ever notice when you "dare" to ask Miss Bon Qui Qui at Stop & Shop or Shop Rite to help you find an item or god forbid, ask that they help you bag, she just sucks her teeth and says "I'm goin' on my break." This never happens at Trader Joe's in Fairfield. The whole team bends over backwards, sideways, and forwards to make sure that you find what you need and are happy finding it. Long checkout line? The bell rings immediately and they open up a new line. That stuff NEVER happens at Stop & Shop; Stop & Shop is like the post office where they just let you rot in line. I love shopping @ Trader Joes. I've shopped @ all the locations: Darien, Westport, Milford & quite a few up/down the coast of Cali & there they sell wine! But this is good 'ol New England so this isn't an option! Excellent variety of international cheeses @ very good prices! Their dairy options over all are excellent whether it be organic milk, Greek yogurt, ice cream made w coconut milk- the list is endless. If you are vegetarian or vegan or gluten free there are tons of choices in both fresh & frozen as well as baking, cereals etc. They carry everything from the typical ketchup to obscure east Indian condiments, baking ingredients, imported olive oils & frozen pizzas to vitamins & dog food, fresh cut flowers, plants, seasonal & sometimes local fruits & veggies. The service is always friendly and helpful & check out is fast/cheerful. They offer food samples & beverages too! Very clean bathrooms also. Large private parking lot. read more

This isn't my one-stop place for all my grocery needs but that being said I have a constant list of items I can only find here. Mostly because I love so many of the exclusive TJ made items. The prices can't be beat! This is the only place I'll get nuts and dried fruits for baking because of the lower cost. They also have a nice selection of flowers, sometimes fresher than others but more than not a good go-to for reasonably priced bouquets. The biggest downside is most often I go during "rush hours" (any weeknight between 5-7pm) and the store is annoyingly crowded. Monday nights are by far the worst. I try to get everything I need in an overloaded hand basket because its pure aggravation trying to maneuver a cart around. They do a good job about having enough cashiers at checkout but I still find myself waiting in long lines. My only other qualm is that if I do find a new loved product I find myself stocking up in fear I won't see it on the shelves again. I guess that's part of offering exclusive/store brand items but it's upsetting to see things I love go missing for months on worse, forever. Still a great place - clean and organized with a very friendly staff. I don't know what I'd do without them. My mom is obsessed with making a trip here when she visits from out-of-state. Other neighborhood markets just aren't the same. read more

I can't serve friendly people at the dinner table. Trader Joe's simply has too many processed products - not enough raw - on their shelves. Lettuce, spinach, beans, bronchial, and other produce not loose and open to inspection. Heads of cabbage or cauliflower are not to be found raw. If you want to make Stuffed Cabbage you're out of luck! Even a pint, even in small containers always seems to go sour half way . Many other products are too pricey - especially coffee - and lack value. I much prefer traveling a little farther to ALDE in Milford, and or KEY FOODS, in downtown Norwalk, where the meat counter is AWESOME! Especially lately, I have had to return far too many items, which I feel funny about. A case of spring water is so cheap, it tore open as I lifted it out of the carriage - and 12 plastics bottles went rolling through the parking lot. When I returned to the store, The Manager DID NOT issue me a refund. SO long Trader Joe's - you've made it easy to leave! read more

Today inside Trader Joe's, which I believe to be the only existing utopia on our planet, I experienced the purest event of my adult life. I walked up to the register to checkout and saw a 7 year old girl in her school uniform peering over the other side of the counter aside a Trader Joe's employee. The cashier politely asked me if she could help me checkout and at first I assumed she'd just simply scan my items but no, this girl did the whole ENTIRE thing. She pressed every button, asked me cash or card, got my receipt and said thank you for shopping at Trader Joe's. I love this world, or maybe the Trader Joe's world. That place is something else. very cheap compared to other stores in westport....but it looks like a supermarket from the 1960s....with choices to match...always well staffed though the bread rolls I bought yesterday are stale and breaking apart, a handful of the bagged clementines are soft and going brown and often difficult to find organic bananas that aren't green. or avocados that are actually ripe and ready to use for that night's meal!I also once bought a box of cheese sticks wrapped in prosciutto and they had green mould all over them. When I get the chance, I always try to get my college grocery shopping done at Trader Joe's because I love all of the products. This is a rather large store for a Trader Joe's that carries a lot of product, including beer. This is compared to the one in Westport, which is tiny and doesn't have much of a selection. The staff is always friendly and there are always samples available. Only problems are that some items aren't always available and on the weekends, this place is a mob scene. This has to be the Best neighborhood supermarket. The specials are always good, the tasting bar always something good to try out. But what sets Trader Joe's apart from the big supermarkets are the great prices on all the organic stuff. For Example the Dried fruits and nuts are price way below Stop and Shop and a gallon of Organic milk is less expensive and has an expiration date that is well 2 to 3 weeks good. And The peanut butter selection is great Organic and cheap. I have been shopping here for 2 years now and I love it. read more
