This location is alway busy. Right in the heart of Westwood Village. Plenty of parking inside the structure with the main level as well as underground parking. Don't forget to get tour ticket validated at the store when you walk out. It's small store but does pack a major punch. Always busy as UCLA is around the corner. This location does have one of the best floral department. It's alway loaded with amazing potted plants, loads of orchids plants and a fully stocked supply of fresh cut flowers. Bigger selections than some other stores I've been to. Layout pretty much is all the same. Service is alway great as everyone is alway ready to help if you have a question. If there's something that I can't find, they'll either check in the back or look it up to see if a shipment is available or if it'll be stocked later. Isles are wide so you're not running into each other. A decent section where the alcohol is. It's one of my favorite TJ's in town. read more

The customer service person named Jack treated us so poorly today and it was over a return of $4.99 on the poor quality pineapple we purchased. The pineapple was supposed to be sweet but it was bruised all over. We throw them away but took a picture and kept a receipt. Jack asked if we consumed the pineapple and we should've brought it back. Good question! No it was unconsumable and did not have time to go back right away. For us being Traders Joe customers for years and hardly return any of the products. We have to say that being treat like dishonest people was unbelievable. It's literally bad product that was not consumable. For $4.99 return. Somehow it's a big issue for this location. We never have problem anywhere else though. Make sure to bring the bad product as soon as you can if you want to get return service here. read more

When you experience bad customer service at a TJ?! Lol Cashier and the lead were afraid to communicate even have any eye contact to acknowledge you. I was next in line to pay with another woman behind me waiting as well. Their printer shuts down, it happens. No biggie The biggie, no acknowledgement from cashier to myself and customer behind. Just ignored us. 2 min go by and supervisor steps in, still no acknowledgement. Not even, "let's try another register why we troubleshoot this one." Another 2 min... "Just close down." The only place where you can walk in for a $3 bottle of wine, and walk out with seasonal Thanksgiving popcorn (because why should we be limited to just a turkey.) I love the unique premade meal options and snacks, some of which are very tasty and affordable. I would buy their premade meals a lot as a college student because of how convenient and tasty they are. My favorite meals are the turkey wraps, breakfast burrito, chicken and rice, Korean seafood pancake, and panang curry. My favorite snacks are the coffee beans, ube pretzels, and juicy mango strips. My only complaint is that the boxed meals, like the curry dishes, are too small and not enough for one meal. Their precooked meat options are very convenient, and their roast beef and shredded pork taste delicious. Customer service is always great. As an Asian American, a good amount of the Asian dishes are great in flavor but some are overpriced compared to prices at an Asian supermarket and are not authentic in flavor, such as the chow mein, which does not taste like actual chow mein, and the spring rolls, which are very overpriced, but that is to be expected as it is an American grocery store. However, most of their Asian dishes are pretty decent compared to other American grocery stores and my favorite Asian dishes of their's are the kimbap, tikka masala, and panang curry. read more

I usually park on the street when I come here; the last time I came, it was during a holiday and I was lucky to find the perfect gifts at this location. Everyone was super friendly and I could tell that cashiers took the time see if you had a good experience. I have already gotten used to the fast service at other grocery stores where there isn't time for conversation, so it was nice to see a difference for a change. This Trader Joe's is located right in the heart of Westwood Village :) ! Right near Target and Ralph's :D ! I wish Trader Joe's was around here when I was a UCLA college student years ago! The employees here are always really upbeat, friendly and courteous :) !! For the most part, I can always find what I am looking for. The entire store is very clean and well-organized. Just a few weeks ago, they started handing out maps to customers regarding their new store layout. I didn't find anything wrong with their previous store layout. But I guess businesses in general try to rearrange and change around things to keep their customer base interested ;) ! I usually buy their burritos, salads, and some of their microwaveable meals (like the orange chicken bowls and the sriracha shrimp bowls). These definitely are great convenient meals for work or for home :) ! I love how Trader Joe's always innovates and has new exciting products :) !! I usually get really excited as I get closer to the checkout, where they display their newest items! I recently bought several bags of the Chili Pineapple kettle popcorn and a 4-pack of the pineapple juice because I really love these :D !! One of the cashiers should suggested that I try the watermelon juice, too, because he said it's really good :) !! I will definitely be coming back :D !! I have to admit that their parking structure can get really full during peak hours. If you have to circle around or fight for parking when you get in there, that could be a bummer because the time you spend trying to find parking can cut into your free 1 hour of parking with validation. Very conscious about social distancing. Customers wait in line to enter, three at a time as patrons walk out with groceries as instructed by a staffer. It's so wonderful to be in a TJs without everyone packed in like sardines pre-Covid. I knew what I wanted and was in and out in about 20 mins. Check out was fast! I have shopped at this store for a number of years, I am a loyal customer. I have typically never received a bad experience at this location, but things are worsening. I tried returning bread and other groceries I had the other day, because they had gone moldy very quickly. The customer helping me out said not one word, interrupting me to loudly ring a bell, and call over a manager named Ernie. He was very rude, ignored me, acted like I was lying, and was overall vacant. He seemed high on marijuana, the way he was vacant and dismissive, and smelled, and he was very rude and walked away while I was still talking to him. Disappointed with how this store has let itself go. Always homeless people inside, and the outside in the morning feels like a homeless camp. I feel unsafe. read more

The bell pepper here can be sketchy at times. And relying on parking garages for parking once you've lived in the Valley for so long where there is nothing but LOTS of open air parking and SPACE can really make you throw your hands up here and scream "TO HELL WITH IT!" But other than the bell pepper and the annoying parking garage, I love love love this location right around the corner from me. Tucked away within Westwood Village, this Trader Joe's is located right near the (formerly 'city') Target along with Ralph's so they have a pretty good location for all of your needs. They've always had what I wanted here (and what I didn't think I needed at the time) so it's normally a quick stop. However for the first time, I couldn't find my parking ticket for the life of me. I asked the front if anyone turned one in, and the guy said nothing came up at the time. He even took the time to walk the store with me (thankfully I only went down two aisles on this visit), retracing my steps with no luck. Since the garage is not run by the store, a lost ticket fee was around $22 or so, give or take. Put it this way, it's too much when one could simply hold onto their ticket, which apparently I could not do today. As I walked back to my car, I heard someone yell out, and I saw the guy coming towards me, waving a ticket. It was not even 15 minutes ago, so we went back to validate. I was grateful for this great guy who helped me out! This has definitely become one of my go-to Trader Joe's due to the service, stock, and even the parking isn't too bad. Right in Westwood super close to UCLA This store is so close to everything We found Street parking two streets over, very nice walk through Westwood. Take a look at all the small shops that around there. This Trader Joe's has everything from fresh flowers to all the snacks you would ever need to the frozen entrées to fresh vegetables. Store is clean and the staff is great. There is also parking available in the structure and they validate. Go to the back of the store, and they always have a demo going on that you can try some of their food. read more

I went to this Trader Joe's location yesterday. My overall shopping experience was good, but checkout was not. The staff member at the register seemed to be in a mood and was not very friendly. Upon leaving the store and returning to my car, I realized the staff member bagged my items horribly. Most of the heavier items were sitting on top of lighter items. I was disappointed as I know that if items are bagged incorrectly, items may then get damaged. read more

On a quick trip to LA, I wanted to pick up some of my favorite vodka to return home with. Unfortunately they had only 1 bottle on the shelf. Checking with customer service, I asked if there were any in the back, nope, none in stock. They did advise there should be a case on the truck they were currently unloading yet I was unable to wait as I needed to catch my flight. Gonna reiterate what someone else said: fuck this parking lot. Honestly. It's total bullshit. Had to pay for parking after spending over $200 on groceries. Even if you validate, which we did, it's only for an hour and if you're even a minute over they're gonna make you pay. It's not like we were there for 2 hours, so we were confused the machine said we had to pay after validating. The parking attendant was an ass about it too and didn't care when we asked to make sure since we've never had to pay before (this was the first time after coming for years). If you go during a busy time where you waste time just looking for parking make sure you set a timer to avoid being charged or maybe don't drive here. Actual Trader Joe's employees were very nice, but the parking situation here is ridiculous. I'll just go to other TJ's nearby with actual free parking lots from now on. I walked into Trader Joe's with my support dog & was instantly approached by Victor a young male employee & told I'd have to leave . Because Victor said Winston didn't look like a service dog. I left & returned to the store spoke to another 20 something kid Ben who was as real friends & dismissive as Victor had been . My 2nd most favorite TJs in the area. This location has a pretty decent sized parking lot - something really important in the very crowded Westwood area - but has a 90 minute limit. The few times I have visited this TJs, I've noticed that there is a pretty significant line. The products are usually stocked, though I've seen produce sections left empty, and empty egg shelves before. Also this location can be pretty small compared to other TJs, but they still move traffic pretty well an keep everything as clean and sanitary as possible. TIP: be sure to validate on your way out so that you don't have to pay for parking! read more

This is a nice trader joe's with plenty of hard workers, but today shopping I witnessed a worker named Jeremy (assuming he's a supervisor because he wears a Hawaiian shirt) gossiping with other employees about his coworkers and their work ethic. I think this is extremely unprofessional and not supportive of creating a learning environment for employees to improve. I have seen him multiple times at this store messing around and distracting others, and when I have tried to ask him for help he was very dismissive. Do better in your promoting Trader Joe's. read more

All in all still happy with this fine establishment. Big however to follow. During the pandemic, I get it. Things are distorted and disrupted, supply chains are stretched and even missing. HOWEVER, it's been an interesting observation that not all TJ locations have suffered the same fate. Since I actually am an "essential worker" in finance and have to physically drive on occasion, I got to visit geographically diverse locations in The Valley, errmagahd, The OC, and good ol Los Angeles. I've even been to the Ventura County. So I don't get it. Aren't all the locations being serviced by one corporate headquarters? I think each manager has some autonomy in what they order, to cater to each geographic demographic best-selling items, but how does one or more locations face such varying amounts of goods? Of course it could depend on how many of each item gets bought, I'm not being a dummy about no toilet paper or bottled water. I'm referencing more current times and a recent visit where there was no refrigerated soy milk. After asking the guy working nearby, he almost gave a stink eye, as if to say, duh, you're just not looking carefully, aren't you? Bit sure enough, tons and tons of almond milk, but nada for soya. Hmmm. After some rudimentary poking behind the almond milk wall... nope. No price tag marker either, which told store employee all he needed to know. Nothing likely in the back, come back later. Repeat this same process randomly here and there over the past 3 months and I begin to wonder if there's something bigger going on behind the scenes... like also noteworthy, the familiar faces that I used to see aren't so familiar anymore... Sampling is of course not an expectation, but at the Olympic/Barrington location, they were brewing coffee, I'm guessing just for staff... it was around Halloween. That was nice to note. Even the scent of coffee was welcome. Heck, cook the new items and feed the staff. At least we can smell the new offerings... is that just too much of a tease? Probably a hassle for staff fielding questions non-stop about sampling... Half star reviews not an option, just note, I'm saying 3.5 for now. Some work needed,esp, need pick up option.
