Love good ole Trader Joe's! San Clemente one is clean, nice employees, store layout is nice, produce can be hit or miss but that's probably a corporate issue, parking can be tricky here and that can be a bit of a deterrent, but overall I really like the selection and love the location. read more

This is the best Trader Joe's! I wanted to cry when I saw that they had juicy mango dried fruit in stock, fully stocked like overflowing. I can never get those anywhere. The employees here are kind and it feels very laid back. Not everyone is rushing around or overly packed with people. I can always find what I am looking for here and make it out with a very good amount of groceries without crying at the price. Love them! read more

Solid Trader's. Friendly staff and well thought out store. Great music. They will answer the phone and update you on what is in stock and any other info you need. This is our regular location so we are here a lot. Yes, the parking is a nightmare on most days. Also most of the cashiers are sticklers for using limited bags or stacking way too much stuff in one bag. Please -let the management know! We pay for the bags so please don't be stingy or lecture on the fact that you firmly believe the bag won't rip. I have had too many bags rip and it is lame. Victoria that is a stocker and casher is the friendliest and most wonderful person to bump into at that location. Say HI to her if you can!!! read more

Stopped by this TJs on a road trip down south. Ran in for a banana and wandered the store a bit. Very clean store (per usual with Trader Joes). Clean restroom too! Grabbed a ton of stuff and headed to the register sans bananas. I forgot as I checked out all the nice face and hair products. The cashier, I beleive her name is Victoria (Victoria, D. according to my receipt), was super bubbly and very friendly. She was all smiles and when I laughed about forgetting what I came in to get, she quickly offered to have someone run and grab it, rang the bell and a nice lady brought my Bananas! Overall my experience at this Trader Joes was a good one and Victoria is a very sweet girl :) read more

So great to have a TJ's in the 'hood and I love their garlic spread and grapes and persimmons and artichokes!! The kombucha is good and so is their private label club soda. The employees are always cheerful and bad groceries so well. read more

We all know that they disinfect the carts and have it ready for their customers, right? If not, now you do. One less thing to worry about when you venture out for groceries. Loved the succulent and cactus selections they had. Fruits and vegetables were fresh, they had these amazing Tiger figs for $4.99/lb and Saturn peaches for $3.79/lb. The figs were ripe and ready to eat and the peaches were firm and plump. Both were really sweet. Bathrooms were clean, parking was adequate and as with other TJ's always service with a smile. read more

Bought poinsettia bushes from TJs. They were terribly overwatered and dying. Went to take them back and was treated awful by an employee. Chose two more bushes, took them home and they were falling apart as well. Contacted management and manager couldn't care less. The worst experience I've ever had at a TJs. Will not be returning. I went to San Juan Cap Trader Joe's, and although I love Trader Joe's and their products, the customer was not good. No one greeted me, smiled, and even up to the register, I checked out with a manager and he didn't greet me, or ask anything but "are you paying with cash or card" just not a good vibe here. I usually love TJ's. But I bought a bag of organic carrots and nearly half of them were deformed (shaped like a "U" or sliced in half down the middle) and had a brown color on the cut side. I know I could have returned them, but I didn't. I used the good ones and threw the bad ones away. Just be careful when you buy a bag of carrots. Look inside the bag. read more

The employees here are so kind!! Every time I come buy they're very helpful and make my day so much better on top of having so much variety of healthy food to choose from. I love the store. Produce is always very good and prices are great! I appreciate the convenience foods. Lots of prepackaged salad greens, so I don't have to cut up everything all the time. Great selection of grass fed chicken, milk, eggs and fresh turkey breast on the bone! Also good precooked chicken cut up for salads or whatever! Very nice fresh meat counter, as well as frozen items. Greatest flowers around, cut and potted for color. Something different every time I go. And lots of seasonal items. Some nice affordable cosmetics and healthy treats for my dog. I LOVE THIS TRADER JOES!!! Every time I shop at this store it is filled with a such a pleasant atmosphere. The staff members sure know how to communicate with their customers making easy conversation and easy to look for groceries on my list. Ulysses and Serena helped me check out on the register and it made my day talking to them! They were so funny and filled with so much joy and personality it seems like an excellent place to work! I love how quick everything is too I had a moldy orange in my bag and Serena zoomed off and grabbed me another one before I could finish checking out. I was so sick of having to drive miles away to get my Trader Joe's fix. Now since this location is open, I'll save gas and time! I got a flyer in the post letting me know that Oct 11th was the opening day. If you have problems finding it, it's in the same shopping center as Ross and Rite Aid. I went in and it was packed! The parking lot was completely full, and like most other TJ parking lots, a pain. Once I went in though, I was very pleasantly surprised. This store is huge! The selection of stuff here is noticeably larger and more varied than the other location I used to go to. It's sorted pretty well, with enough room between the aisles for carts and people. Did not have any trouble filling my basket with things I did not need (Honey Butter Chips, Spicy Mango, Mango Cream bars, Coffee Mochi Ice cream...). Definitely come by and check it out! They're going to be having some opening week giveaways and such for the rest of the week. I won a big bag of tangerines and some reusable bags by spinning a wheel in the back of the store. read more

This location is the best for grocery shopping for me. I always feel safe and enjoy my time wandering the isles and looking at all the new products. I love you Trader Joe's, but... when shopping here recently, I was excitedly gathering my usual frozen staples when I noticed that the freezer cases were strangely warm and the cardboard boxes were sorta mushy. The pizza I picked out was flexible. I thought I was having some weird temperature regulation issues, so I looked at the thermometer inside the freezer case. 69 degrees! The next case over was 68 degrees! I flagged down a friendly Trader Joe's employee and asked them to check it out with me. They were also puzzled, and said that was strange. They went to get a manager, and after conferring, they both told me that the freezers routinely go through a defrosting process. I'm old enough to remember how to manually defrost a freezer. You definitely do not let the food get to that temperature. The fact that they think it's fine to let frozen food defrost to that temperature and then refreeze repeatedly is what scares me. I contacted Trader Joe's corporate to alert them to this issue and I don't know if they ever handled it or not. Ever since then, I won't buy any perishable foods at this location. It's too risky. read more

I liked this Trader Joe's because the employees are generally nice. However, I had a bad experience today. I went to the store to pick up a few things with my elderly mother. It was a little busy in the store. When we got to the checkout line, there was one person checking out ahead of us. I knew that we could get out fairly quickly. My mom was standing a little askew so one of the employees pulled her aside with the cart and pointed to a check stand that wasn't open. I went with her thinking that she would check us out. I then realized that no one was coming. I saw the employee going about stocking shelves in the frozen section. Then I thought, she must have thought my mom was in the way of other shoppers. She is 92! You can tell that I am related to her - we are Asian! I told my mom to leave the cart and let's walk out. I realize that we are all stressed out with the pandemic but I have little opportunity to shop and do it safely and quickly. I am just upset about the whole thing. Why did she pull her aside? She was blocking others? Shoppers are respectful and I would have asked her to move a little. What was in this employee's mind? I am going to think about going to that Trader's again. I am trying to give that employee the benefit of the doubt but I was in line. Maybe I misunderstood her intent but I doubt it. It isn't as if there were three or four other people ahead of me. Sad about the treatment especially with an elderly person wanting to do a little shopping. read more

This Trader Joe's is the best Trader Joe's that I've ever been to, because of both the amazing food selection and the extremely kind employees. They always go out of their way to bring excellent customer service to all who are in the store. My friend G rang me up today and he noticed one of the eggs I selected were broken, so he called for some new ones... AND he also called for some new apples when they fell on the floor- talk about going above and beyond! No complaints at all for this amazing store, all the staff there truly work hard and go the extra mile, it shows! G if you're reading this whats up homieeee haha you rock! I love My Trader Joe's!! I have seen and experience nothing but the very best here! From a helpful suggestion for a delicious dinner, to witnessing a little boy looking for the store "blue bird" and a employee hinting him in a game of hot or cold. Let me start off by saying that I Love Trader Joe's, yet today they really let me down. There was a family of 4 that was in the store without masks ( not even in their hands). They were not stopped at the door nor did any staff say anything to them at all. I asked a staff member why that was being allowed( so did the customer in front of me). He stated that they can't force anyone to wear the mask and they also did not want the customer to cause a scene! So you don't want to cause a scene but you don't care if other people are exposed ? It's currently the state law. No one loves to wear these masks but it's for the safety of ourselves and others. If your not going to enforce the current mandate who will ? Be better TJ's ! read more

Yes, San Juan Capistrano has a Trader Joe's! No need to drive to San Clemente or Laguna Niguel anymore! No packed parking lot. No crowded store. This is a great location, and the shopping is a breeze. Also, disregard the review by B F. THE PRICES ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS EVERY OTHER TRADER JOE'S - REASONABLE. Please be aware Trader Joe's does not require people to wear masks. I just came from this Trader Joe's on Camino Cap and saw two people without masks and one coughing heavy, picking up items with his hand he just cough into.
