may 2026 Ahhh so many great things to say about Traders Joes! This location is conveniently located in Town Center and has everything you normally love about a TJ's, plus a Virginia Beach Vibe! I especially love to build my own bouquets as they have so many flower options!

Finally checked out the new Trader Joe's in Town Center this week and I totally get the hype. I went on a weekday during my lunch break, so it was super calm and easy to shop, but I can absolutely see this place being packed on weekends. It's a really spacious store compared to some other locations I've been to, and the aisles are wide enough that you're not doing the awkward cart shuffle every five seconds. Everything felt really well organized and fully stocked, which made it easy to pop in, grab what I needed, and still have time to wander and see what new items they had. The seasonal displays were especially cute (dangerous for my wallet), and of course I ended up leaving with more snacks than originally planned. The frozen section was fully loaded, and the flower display right when you walk in was gorgeous and super affordable. The staff was just as friendly as every other Trader Joe's I've visited. Multiple employees said hi, asked if I needed help finding anything, and were chatting with customers at checkout in that classic upbeat, genuinely nice way they're known for. It makes the experience feel way more personal than your average grocery run. Parking at Town Center can sometimes be chaotic, but going midweek made it pretty painless. Overall, this is such a great addition to the area. Clean, spacious, well stocked, and full of the fun, unique products that make Trader Joe's runs feel like a little adventure instead of a chore. I'll definitely be back (probably too often).

It's terrific to have a Trader Joe's at Town Center. The new location is so much closer to my house than the Hilltop store. The location is in Columbus Village at Town Center in the space previously occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond. The shopping area is on Constitution Drive on the southeast corner of its intersection with Virginia Beach Boulevard. It was exciting to shop at the new store for the first time. The lines were so long when it first opened that I waited a week or so and went in mid afternoon. Although there was no line to get in the store, it was still full of shoppers. The store is much larger than the Hilltop store so there's lots more inventory to peruse. I'm normally a straight into a store to get the items I need then checkout. Never do I go down every aisle. But I did at the new Trader Joe's. One item I was looking for in particular were the Ube Tea Cakes I had seen a picture of on Yelp. After I searched the correct aisle with no success I checked with a friendly employee. She returned quickly with the information that the Ube Cakes had been discontinued. I'll have to check the Hilltop Store to see if they have remaining inventory. It was hard to get a good look at all the inventory since so many people were shopping. I did purchase a box of Trader Joe's Strawberry O's. They're so yummy that I'm using them as a snack instead of breakfast. I'll definitely return when I have more time to shop. Thank you Trader Joe's for bringing your great store to Town Center.

The day has finally arrived. The grand opening of Trader Joe's in Town Center of Virginia Beach. The anticipation has been exciting over the past nine months when announced in early Spring of 2025. They kicked it off with a rainy ribbon cutting at 8:50 AM by TJ HQ. Also local news outlets were on hand. Also excitement with a protester yelling!!! The location off Virginia Beach Blvd and facing Constitution is where the Bed, Bath and Beyond once was. Of course the iconic TJ signage is easily seen from the road. The development has now put in two adjacent businesses with Golf Galaxy now open and a ABC liquor store opening Winter of 2026. Parking will be more tight than Hilltop in the front and of course insane for a while with the new store. Don't forget they have a very large lot in the rear, but no entrance. Upon my arrival at 745 AM it was wide open, but a line of around 25 had already formed. #1 arrived at 530 AM I heard. It seems the square footage is larger than Hilltop and that was confirmed, so bonus for me because I suspect this will be my regular. Staff transitioned from the old store and new hires were assigned before Thanksgiving to prepare for today's opening. It's also Flyer time with special products around Christmas to enjoy. The staff was on hand and ready for the big crowds today. The store is fresh, bright and fully stocked. Who doesn't love new! This is my first experience with checking out a Trader Joe's this new. The layout is typical of TJ's with floral as you walk in. But what's really typical about a brand spanking new store. It's bright and beautiful and inviting me to investigate more. I was excited to experience my first Trader Joe's opening vibe and it did not disappoint beginning with the line of fans that arrived up to three hours early. I was not already familiar with most of their products after being a TJ super fan. However, they did pull out all seasonal special they call "Flyers". A real treat for the first day samples and they had them everywhere. All hands were on deck with staff to ensure a smooth day 1. Although some store will do staff in special costumes, they had employees today in traditional Hawaiian shirts. I go to TJ so often there was nothing I really needed, but I still grabbed a few items in my giveaway bag they gave early customers at the door. Welcome to Town Center of Virginia Beach Trader Joe's.

Trader Joe's is always one of my go-to stops, and somehow I never walk out with just what's on my list. I went in today with a plan (just a few specific items), and of course... left with way more. That's just how Trader Joe's works. This visit was at the newer Constitution Plaza location, and I have to say, I really like the layout. At first it felt like they might have fewer items compared to the Hilltop store, but it's actually just the setup--the aisles are wider and much easier to navigate, which makes a big difference when it's busy. While I was there, they were sampling their baked barbecue potato chips (definitely a win), and the store smelled amazing. Turns out it was their viral Chicago pepperoni pizza that's been all over TikTok lately--tempting, but I managed to pass this time. What I actually came for vs. what I left with... two very different things I did grab my usual favorites like the tapas sampler, pecorino Romano, and of course cookie butter. But I also ended up picking up a few extras that weren't on the list--Italian blood orange soda, battered onion "flowers," fresh basil and mint, filet mignon, and sea salt butterscotch caramels. No regrets! The staff here are always friendly--I've honestly never had a bad checkout experience at Trader Joe's, and today was no different. The only downside this visit was that they were out of almond paste, which I specifically went in for, and I was told it's not something they can order. Overall, still one of my favorite places to shop--just go in knowing you'll probably leave with more than you planned. By the way, don't always believe everything you hear on or read on the Internet people say that if you spend so much at Trader Joe's, you get a free reusable shopping bag that is not true cause I asked the cashier today and she said she gave me a weird look and said no that's not accurate!

So Trader Joe's recently opened a new location which was definitely needed. The parking lot is spacious, but you can expect it to be pretty loaded most of the time just like the one in Hilltop. I love this store but damn near need an anxiety pill to get through parking and the store!! Lol. It's certainly a hot commodity!! I was greeted at the door and given a cart, which was nice. The staff seem pretty friendly. It was people everywhere and everyone seemed to think they could hog whatever section they were in, so you definitely have to get in where you fit in. If you get pissed off easily I'd advise you to go closer to closing time. They were trying to stock items, but alot of their normal items weren't available because of the amount of people shopping, since they recently opened. But I was still able to find some good things. They have a nice frozen section with different types of foods. I wouldn't dare say my favorites before they sell out!! Lol. Tik Tok and YouTube have already made viral things hard enough to find and more expensive. I don't normally gatekeep, but in this case I will!! Lol !! If you like wine they have a nice selection with decent prices. The cheese section is also pretty nice!! The lines were moving pretty well because I went before closing time. The store is a good size and was clean. I'll definitely be back. Check them out!!

This was my first time at this new location. My friend had to go grocery shopping so I decided to tagalong and I'm happy I did. Picked up a couple things that I wanted to try for a while. Their sour patch candy strips was sour but I loved it. Their banana and strawberry and cream yogurt was three dollars and some change but the yogurt was very creamy. I will definitely be going back to get that again. That might be one of my favorite yogurts now. The sausage McMuffin pasta, protein pancakes all passed on Yuka. Made me happy to know that the things I grabbed were are healthy. The store was clean and it's very big inside. The cashier was very quick and happy to help us. I am truly happy that there is a Trader Joe's closer to me now.

Recently opened, New bigger location! Every shelf was well stocked. I love the wider aisles. Employees were everywhere answering questions and providing exact locations where items were. I didn't hear a single employee say "sorry I'm new". Definitely didn't disappoint, we will be back!

I was thrilled to see the TJ's sample station offering their graham cracker squares topped with their whipped carrot cake cream cheese! Uh, yes, please! I mean, who doesn't like a sample? Needless to say, I picked up a container of the whipped carrot cake cream cheese. Then, after moving away to continue shopping, I decided to turn right back around to grab another container! The nice young lady serving the samples smiled at me and told me she completely understood why I grabbed another container. Lol TJ's is always so clean and the staff is always so friendly at this location. I like finding new items every visit, and I picked up lots of sweet treats for the holiday. Big thanks to all the IG followers who post their Trader Joe's finds and their reviews of their favorites. My cashier, Melissa commented on the additional (3) reusable regional shopping bags I had in my cart. Hilltop had the bag for North Carolina! Yay! I've enjoyed collecting the different state bags because they're so colorful and fun! Hope to see the Washington DC one, soon!
