It gave us warm and fuzzy feeling. They helped her transition into school and were so patient with her. My daughter has been showered with love and affection from the teachers. There isn't turn over of teachers. She's learned so much and is talking more. She positively talks about her teachers and friends at home. They've helped us with potty training. Meals are provided. I can't say enough good things about this school. I highly recommend Storybook.

What my family went through caused significant stress, anxiety, and sadness, and I would not wish that on anyone else. Overall, Lutz Montessori is a good school. The teachers appear experienced and genuinely care for the children. My son was enrolled in the VPK class for nearly a full year (with just two months left) and we had planned for him to continue into kindergarten there. Toward the latter part of the school year, we began receiving concerns from his teacher about behavioral challenges--such as difficulty sitting still during circle time, interrupting, or hesitating to transition indoors after playtime. The teacher offered several strategies, including using weighted blankets, sand timers, and even seeking occupational therapy. We followed through on all of these recommendations. I stayed in close contact with his teachers, frequently asking for updates and doing everything I could to reinforce positive behavior at home. I even raised concerns multiple times about whether the Montessori method was the right fit for my son, wondering if he might do better in a more traditional classroom. But I was reassured by staff that he was thriving within the Montessori environment . Like many four-year-olds, he had moments of energy and impulsivity. Still, his pediatrician, the occupational therapist, and a county counselor (whom the school referred us to) all offered consistent advice : "He is a young boy. He's too young to diagnose with ADHD, and many children outgrow this behavior." None of them felt alarmed, and importantly--his behavior never interfered with his academic development. Unfortunately, things changed drastically. Just eight weeks before the school year ended, my husband and I were called in for a meeting with the leadership team. During this meeting, we felt pressured to pursue ADHD testing for our son. Statements were made that strongly implied a diagnosis--despite the fact that no one on their leadership team was qualified to make one. The tone and approach of the conversation left me feeling so uncomfortable. Despite my concerns, we decided to allow him to finish the school year, not wanting to disrupt him socially or emotionally so close to the end. But during those weeks, we noticed changes in him: biting his nails, chewing on his sippy cup straw, and acting out in uncharacteristic ways. Then, I received a phone call from the school director. She informed me that she had recorded my son's behavior on her personal phone--without my knowledge or consent. The video was heartbreaking. I saw my son overwhelmed and unable to express his emotions. Rather than offering him a break or comfort, the director questioned him repeatedly and continued recording, placing the camera close to his face. I was shocked. I pulled him out of the school immediately. It's now been almost 3 months since that decision, and my son is in a new school where he is thriving. His new teachers speak highly of him, and I have not received a single behavioral complaint. I will likely always carry disappointment in the actions of the leadership team at Lutz Montessori. Writing this review was not easy. But these are children, and how they are treated during times of emotional vulnerability matters. My hope is that by sharing this necessary changes will be made so that no other child--or parent--has to go through what we did

Many of the schools i toured previously were very wishy washy with their procedures and policies. I wanted a place that felt like home, had a respectable kind staff, but had clear expectations and guidelines for my son's safety and care. I toured school with a long check list of questions and all of my concerns were addressed professionally. My son (17m) has been attending since he was 10 weeks old. As a first time mom everything was overwhelming and frightening to start. The whole staff was so helpful and welcoming to start. Bianca and her team made this very difficult transition seem very smooth. I remember on our first day she invited me to call the classroom as many times as I needed. I did my best to focus on my work and trust they had him. She was kind enough to call me. Just to check in and give me an update knowing this was a big day for both of us. Bianca was incredible when it came to difficult things like transitioning to solids, sickness, and developmental milestones. Now my son is in the 1's class and he's learning so much everyday. He can't wait to go to school in the morning. I can't imagine being a working mom and not having this level of care for my son. I feel so fortunate that I found this group right away. After picking up my child early, I got to see what goes on in the middle of the day. While I don't think this was out of the norm for infant care, I was surprised at what was happening. My child (of 3 months old) along with another child was lying on the ground in the drop off section where people take off shoes and was attempting to feed himself a bottle, absolutely covered in milk. The teachers were busy warming bottles/ changing diapers/ trying to tend to the 6 screaming children. After picking my child up off the ground and cleaning him up myself, I was given previous bottle- still 3/4 full. While I understand that a baby will not always finish a bottle, I was not okay with the fact that he normally would have had 12 ounces by this point of the day, and he'd only had 6 total. I did not say anything to the teachers, as they really didn't have time to chat (they prefer communication via their app). I sat in the parking lot of the center and finished feeding him. He was starving. I have no idea how much he actually drank since he I witnessed him attempting to feed himself. When we got home, he took another 8 ounces. After talking to other parents- they said that it wasn't totally out of the ordinary and that if they didn't have to do infant care, they wouldn't. When we ultimately decided to pull him out of daycare and picked his stuff up, it smelt of very strong cleaning chemicals. If you have to do infant care, this place checks the box, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it. I'm not one to post poor reviews, but I wish I would've known what it was all about. So here it is.

Mr. Welbon has always been such a big role model for her that she has blossomed into such and amazing young woman at the age of 20. He has helped her come out of her comfort zone and be more of an extrovert since being in karate for so long. I strongly believe karate has helped my daughter become the person she is today. Karate not only taught her self defense, but it has also taught her how to be humble, how to have mental strength, and how to build her self as a better person. I highly recommend this dojo as my daughter is an example of what good this dojo does to their students. Throughout all the years, Mr. Welbon, his instructors, his students and his staff have always been amazing and this dojo will always be home and a safe space for my daughter.
