Trails edge is a delicious restaurant that my family and I love and come frequently to. The beer selection is copious and expansive, and their burgers and pizza are top notch. The waiters are friendly and NEVER get your order wrong. The restaurant is very well decorated with an old fashioned look, and overlooks the park and stage for live music. I can't say enough about how easy it was to work with Jackie to come up with our menu and setting up the room in a manner that would work for us. Everything I asked for was provided and more! There was never any hesitation when it came to accommodating us. I highly recommend scheduling the private room for any group event! I landed here during the Blue Grass festival that I didn't know was happening so I thought the wait was going to be long. Since we wanted inside, no problem. The waitress was friendly and attentive despite the continuous crowd. There was a singer inside the restaurant as well with a guitar which people enjoyed as they clapped.The restrooms were down stairs which was kind of a dark hallway. They were clean and nice so no complaints there. We both ordered the Hike burger, and when I tell you the burger was delicious! Juicy and cooked the way I liked it. It had sweet onion bacon jam with borsin cheese spread - such a good combo! My friend said she probably would not have tried it if I wasn't there and she enjoyed going out of her comfort zone for this treat! I also had the smashed loaded tater tots, because why wouldn't you?? they had cheese and bacon, fried well and came with a special ketchup. I can tell you I was mad I was too full to finish them! I was riding my bike so I did not have any alcohol so I cannot comment on the bartending portion of the restaurant but they do have one. The seating in the restaurant are counter height and regular table height. There is outdoor seating with shade if you prefer alfresco dining. Maybe I'm being a little critical, it was a beautiful day after all. Went here yesterday for the beer really, food was secondary. Didn't have one of their home brews, probably should have. Anyway, it was busy, but there were a lot of servers, that was good. Our server came by shortly after we were seated and we gave her our drink order. Seemed like it took quite a while for our beers to arrive, seven to ten minutes. We ordered food, I had a burger, requested a little pink in the middle, my wife had the caprese pizza. The food took quite some time to come out as well. The server came by twice to reassure us the food would be coming out shortly. In the meantime, we watched my wife's pizza being made (we were sitting close to the pizza over) I was disappointed that the dough wasn't made there. They use store bought premade discs, that as it turns out weren't very good. Kinda cardboardy. Topping were abundant, however the stems on the spinach were huge. The pizza was finished about 15 minutes before my burger and was put in a warming oven. I don't know if it was on. So the food is brought out, the pizza is just warm, my burger cooked to perfection was warm as well. Must have been sitting in the back for a while. I enjoy a nice juicy and messy burger, this one was neither. The atmosphere here was great, nice decor, excellent outdoor seating area. The food.... meh. Located right downtown old Frankfort in a old building. With it being an old building it draws you in just to see what has been done to it. Once inside it is so nice to see so much of the old is still there and not modernized, with it being a Brewery that was a nice surprise. Tried trails edge for the first time and unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. First off , everyone on staff was very nice and attentive . The decor and ambiance of the restaurant is great . Started with drinks and they were good , not great just ok . We were excited to order and wanted to try some different things. We started with cheese curds and kettle chips with buffalo sauce. The curds were as good as I've ever had ...5 stars for them . The chips were great but we're drenched in buffalo sauce wayyyy too much buffalo sauce , they were honestly hard to eat there was so much sauce on them . So no go on the chips . We ordered the beet salad and the caprese flatbread pizza . The salad got mixed reviews , I thought it was ok but my girl thought it was extremely dry and tasted like drywall , and neither of us were crazy about the dressing.Even though I thought it was ok I wouldn't order it again . The big bomb was the caprese flat bread . There's way too much going on there and that made the crust soft and wet . There was literally almost an entire jar of pesto on our pizza.the pizza looked pretty but neither of us liked how it tasted .I'm pretty sure we will give this place another try with a few different selections .we loved the decor and the layout of the bar area and the service was very good . read more

Really cool spot with a wonderful staff. They usually have a good variety of beers and then also have some unique menu items (BBQ inspired). Beer is great and the food is A-1 as well. We love Trails Edge. The food is very good and the service is great. They brew their own beer and those I have tasted are excellent. Sometimes when they are very crowded, the bar can be VERY loud, making it difficult to hear the person next to you. I also wish the seating was more comfortable - a cushion rather than a hard bench or chair would be nice. It is our "go to" place for great craft beer and good food. read more

Took one bite of the worst "pizza" I have ever had. I had to send back the cauliflower crust margarita pizza. I typically like cauliflower crust, not melted cheese on some funky tasting cardboard with melted cheese on it. The beet salad was good but the dressing tasted like mineral oil and Pinesol. I'm not a fan of beer batter, but the beer battered portobello mushroom strips were ok. They honestly looked like deep fried roaches though. Service was TERRIBLE!! We waited to be seated for about 5 minutes, so did the people that came in behind us. The place was empty. Felt like the whole staff was young and new - a lot of sorries and "I'll be right back," but she always took too long to come back. The restrooms are downstairs and it seriously felt haunted. TRULY dog friendly! We brought our two (well behaved) poochies to Trail's Edge and we could not have been more thrilled with the kindness and consideration that was shown to us and the pups. We were immediately offered water for the dogs and were given a table with enough space to accommodate the dogs while not disrupting the other patrons (note: dogs are allowed on their concrete patio, not on the summertime turf setup for obvious reasons). They have a generous doggie menu for such a reasonable price. We were overjoyed that we were able to include our puppers in our afternoon outing, and Trail's Edge will be a staple in our visits to Downtown Frankfort for that reason (among others). Decided to throw my husband a surprise 50th and it turned out BETTER than I could have ever imagined! We ended up having the chicken piccata, garlic mashed and vegetable medley and EVERYONE loved it! Our family and friends kept mentioning how the food was better than any banquet hall these days and wanted info. on having future parties/etc. That little room nestled in the basement referred as the "boiler room" was just perfect for what we wanted to create which was a "personal space" for our family and friends of 60 to make memories that my husband will never forget. The staff each and every last one of them continuously greets you, asks how things are coming along, if you need anything, our guests kept saying how INCREDIBLE and accommodating and sweet and fun and NICE they all were! Nice little place located in a quaint part of Frankfurt, this place looks more like a restaurant than a brewery, but they still brew their own. There were 6 on tap I went. I got the APA and the Morning Teleportation (second of which I liked better) They have a full food menu, but I just got the fried pickles since I couldn't stay long. Not bad, I just personally prefer them in spears not chips. It was a bit of a drive so Idk if I'll ever be back, but I'm not sure how many breweries are nearby in that area, so if you're looking for some craft beer and live in the area I'd recommend coming here. read more

This location has been a few different restaurants but I think they finally found one that makes the grade! Microbrew with great food and the decor is modern and inviting. The have burgers, pizza, sandwiches and more! A cool oven that is visible from the dining area which looks like a piece of art! Chef Fig is good at what he does amd you can taste it. I had brisket sliders with the bacon jelly and homemade tots....the TOTS though!!! Amazing and the bacon jelly (caramelized onion, brown sugar, bacon and butter) is the bomb! I will be back for sure!
