OK... so thanks again to Yelp and it's reviewers, I found a nice little bar and grill to go to for lunch! I'm gonna stick with the trend... definitely a 4 star establishment! Here's the skinny: Where's the Door? No Craft Beers... Daily Specials! Ooh... Patio Here's the fat: The main door to the bar and grill is a side door to your right as you walk underneath a trellis on the East wall. I wasn't sure which door to go into... There was on that said "Banquet Hall" and another door that kinda reminded me of a 16th century village house front door... that's the one. I asked if they had any craft beers but, unfortunately they did not. They do however have a fine selection of import beers, the one I tried today was Tennent's Scottish Lager($4.00) - pretty good, not my favorite beer but it was A-OK. Picture - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-cottage-tinley-park?select=EEYMYG9172e0g6kpnwK1pg The specials change every day except- Wednesday - 49 cent wings Thursday - $1.50 Sloppy Joes - these come with homemade potato chips. Fridays - There's an all you can eat Fish Fry for $9.50 all day long. For the current days special check the board to your Left as you walk in. The Sloppy Joes are pretty darn good BTW. Picture - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-cottage-tinley-park?select=8OX37aDnaBFigVN90YxlAw There's a Patio out on the West side of the building, it's huge considering the size of the bar. It has some pretty neat brickwork and even has a wind shelter for smokers too. Picture - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-cottage-tinley-park?select=tixyu_Z0zD9HHhIwMhxl7Q It looks like it'd be a fun time in summer. Check this place out, it's a neat little pub. SYOY

A perfectly poured Guinness can make (or break) your day.

Late night Irish pub with no Affliction shirts... Belly up to the bar for a perfectly poured Guinness and some friendly bar tender banter. This place is never overly crowded and has a great small Irish pub warm feel to it. Very relaxing. Add to it that they're also open until 2:00 am during the week without being a bumping mini-club where all the dudes where Affliction shirts, and you've got a solid little place right here in Orland Park's back yard.

Friends! You have to stop in and have a meal at this very nice spot!…read more It has been in Mokena, IL for 2 years. We went early afternoon on a weekday, so there was no wait, and the place was almost empty. The water came in an adorable carafe, with 6 oz "shot glasses". I found it to be so cute! And it was just enough water for sipping. It was iced cold. I believe we were just thirst and drank it all, lol. Free to the table- House Chips and Salsa. Simple and straight to the point. Ok, to the good stuff! Starters/App: We ordered a "Salsa Flight". It is just what it sounds like, a flight of assorted salsas. There were 6. Great for sharing, not big portions. It ranged from sweet, smokey, fruity, savory, to spicy baby! Of course it came with tortilla chips. So, so good! We also ordered Birria Egg Rolls. Friends!!! Delightfully yummers! Crisp on the outside, cheesy and meaty inside. The cooks were creating magical bites for me this day. lol Very good bites. I ordered a Pina-Colada Margarita. This sip was DELICIOUSNESS. Omg! Like....fresh, and powerful, yet well balanced. TASTY SIPS FRIENDS! I ordered what was like a Taco/loaded steak potato with all the trimmings (cheese, steak pico, sour cream). That is what came on it. There were other option of meats. Because I was so focused, I don't even recall what my date ate. HA! But I will say that my potato was not the best. It was over and under cooked. You are probably wondering like "HOW IS THAT"? Well, the potato was not cooked all the way through(hard pieces), but it was burnt at the bottom of the potato (images to come). That was disappointing. The starters/apps were so tasty, I ended up not finishing the potato, but I was saddened that they served the potato knowing the shape it was in. The meat and cheese and such couldn't even hide it once you moved the toppings to the side. Now, don't let my unhappy potato stop you from checking this place out. I am looking forward to bring my family back, and a few friends. If off sips and chips alone, its a place to get familiar with. Finally had a chance, and I will return. As always, you don't have to take my word for it, go get you some!

Meh. Average suburban Mexican food…read more My mom had an appointment in the area so we stopped in for a quick bite, mostly to kill time. This restaurant was close, so it fit the bill. It was a weekday afternoon, so there weren't many patrons dining in when we arrived. The host greeted us warmly and chose a seat near the front window. I believe our waitress was also the bartender. She was friendly and attentive. I had the chicken tinga and steak tacos. My mom just had a single ground beef taco. The tacos were okay. The food was decent, but I can't say that it was memorable or something I'd want to eat again. It definitely wasn't authentic or anything close to what you'd be served in Mexico, Pilsen, or Back of the Yards. The restaurant was clean and cozy though. The service was also excellent, so that was a plus. Maybe stop in for a drink or the chips and guac instead of the food. The bill was about $32 plus tip ($10).

The waiter (a younger woman) sighed and brought the drinks When my mom asked for another drink the waitress looked at her "I need to get out of this fucking place" and proceeded to have her BOYFRIEND who doesn't even work there bring the check to my parents. This is quickly becoming my local neighborhood bar. We love stopping in here after our commute home…read morefrom the city or on a random afternoon to get out of the house. They have a lot of board games to borrow, pinball machines and multiple TVs usually playing some live sports. The best part about this place though is the staff - we've met the owner a few times when we're in, and have a favorite bartender who always seems to be here when we come. They are absolutely incredible and seem like just good people. For those who become regulars, the Draft Class membership is definitely worth it if you can snag one!

NINETY-NINE BOTTLES OF BEER ON THE WALL…read more This bottle shop in downtown Downers Grove has a myriad of craft options. Prior to last weekend, every time I walked past Orange & Brew the lights were still off (they don't open until noon) so I had no choice but to peer longingly thru the windows into a dark business. I finally stopped in during normal hours with the family in tow on the first Saturday in August. I got a mix-and-match 4pk of IPAs + pilsners for my dad, who has oft complained about the lack of decent brewskis at my house. Well Opa, now you've got a quartet of 16oz craft cans to pick from, so no more grumbling about "only shitty light beer" in the downstairs fridge! They have a large cooler for people to take beer to-go. My wife grabbed a 4pk of rosé hard cider ($13) which she later claimed tasted too much like kombucha. I found it refreshing, like a Woodchuck or Strongbow with a gorgeous deep purple hue. Of course I had to play their four pinball tables on the left side ($1 per game). They had a Stranger Things (with snazzy UV kit upgrade!), Deadpool, 007, and Rick & Morty. The first three are newer Sterns that play decently, but R&M is a strange design from Spooky Pinball that I've yet to figure out. * TL;DR * Take one down, pass it around.....that'll be $6, please! Orange & Brew shares plenty of similarities with Beer Shop in Oak Park: brews on tap, assorted brews in bottles on a shelf, and a fridge full of cold brews to take home. The biggest difference is that O&B has pinball tables, and that bumps them up a star. The guy behind the counter who tapped my beer didn't smile (or even say thanks) when we cashed out. I got the feeling he was apprehensive about my wife and I bringing our 4yo & 1yo kids in here, probably afraid they'd crack open and chug a beer without paying. But seriously, they were very well behaved. If I'm in the area and Orange & Brew is open, I'm definitely stopping in for a cold pint and a few games of pinball. Check them out!
