My first time going here it had really good food, service, and ambiance. It is now a go to restaurant for my family.

We gathered here for my dad's memorial lunch with a large group, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I called just two days in advance, and they were able to accommodate our group without any issues. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the selection of beers. The food was excellent across the board--from the chili and gumbo to the wraps and burgers. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. What stood out just as much as the food was the service. The staff were warm, courteous, and attentive, making a difficult day a little easier for our family. I'm grateful to the team for helping make our gathering such a positive experience. I know my dad would have enjoyed this place, too. read more

Event Space Review! Could not have higher remarks for Trail's Edge hosting my bridal shower! My mom worked with Jackie (banquet coordinator) to organize all details and ensure everything was handled from table layout, timing of event, food offerings, room accommodations, and making sure the food got out on time. The space is on their lower level but they have an elevator for those who cannot take the stairs. Restrooms are also located on their floor which was great for guests. They offer a buffet area for food, a full bar for drinks, and a coat rack right outside the space. Katy handled our party and was wonderful! She hustled to bartend, gather empty plates, refill wines while eating, and even went above and beyond with the kids who attended our shower. She was nice to help us clean up the space when the shower was over. Overall, the event was beyond what we could have imagined. I loved the aesthetic of the room for a winter shower! Definitely keep them in mind for any event you need a space for in the Frankfort area. read more

We walked in on a busy afternoon, we were took a couple minutes for a table, no big deal.. the hostess was so nice talking with my children, and made the wait time enjoyable as we waited. Our waiter was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu, I had a trails edge beer and it was delicious, my kids liked the food and all our food was good. Let me start by saying the young man who sat me immediately noticed the table was wobbly and fixed it...not using napkins! Great start! He gave us plenty of time to pick our drinks and answered our questions...he was polite and communicated well...he acted as though he actually liked his job it was refreshing! Had "A Great Pumpkin" martini (I think that is what is was called) and it was absolutely wonderful! Also ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and the kitchen was able to make each half specific to my companion and myself! Atmosphere was good...it was cold and rainy outside so it was nice and warm and dry! I recently hosted a bridal shower here and could NOT have picked a more perfect venue to have it! I had never hosted an event like this for 32+ women (plus a groom to be) and the lower level reception area was perfect! Even more perfect was Jackie the Event Manager (not sure of her exact title)!! She was so helpful from before I even booked the event through the day of it!! I always feel bad bugging people because I am so detail oriented but every time I called Jackie she was so gracious and understanding about my worried and did everything feasible to allay any concerns I had. And of course, I had no reason for any worries as she delivered in every area! Katie worked the room and did an amazing job- no one was every in need of a drink or any food items, etc. The food was great and all were impressed by the ambiance in the room! Those 2 ladies could easily run their own banquet hall! I don't live near Frankfort but highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a venue in the south suburbs. This weekend we decided to stay out in the suburbs and have a little impromptu anniversary lunch. We had a noon reservation however we got there early and got seated right away at 11:30 am. We chose to sit outside because of the weather, but the brewery has tons of indoor/outdoor space to choose from. Right off the bat our server was super friendly and she checked up on us, which we really appreciated! We both ordered a beer flight which we both enjoyed. One flight was only $15 per person, and you get to choose 4 beers of your choice. We also ordered cheese curds, fried pickles and a bowl of chili. The cheese curds were tasty with a delicious sauce. The fried pickles were super crispy how I like them, but the real star was the brisket chili. We have added this spot to our list to visit again whenever we are around. read more

Met a friend for lunch. Asked our friendly waiter about the jambalaya. He gave it high praise. Against my better judgement I ordered it. It was a hot mess. Several nice shrimp cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, the remainder of the dish was a disaster with a scant number of chicken morsels, a few flavorless smoked sausage discs and an oversized bowl full of white rice smothered with a heavy tomato paste accompanied by a good amount of liquid (water?) runoff. This was not in any way a good representation of jambalaya. On a positive note, the cup of chili served was respectable and service was attentive. Have to say this is one of the best places to drink, and eat, in Frankfort. It's another one of the great local breweries, and there's lots to get here. Trail's Edge is located in downtown across from the square. A lot of good beers, and also the food is actually better than expected. Prices are the worst thing about it. After looking for local breweries, we found out about this and came. It was kind of crowded, but we were able to get seated at the bar and get served pretty fast. This is a brewery but there's good food though. Of course it's important to get a beer. This is a brewery of course, so try one or some. It's about $5 a pint. Lots to try. I had The Smashing. This is a pumpkin wheat ale, as you can guess by the clever name, and good enough to make you feel like a bullet with butterfly wings. As for the food, also good. We each got the Marinated Portobello Mushroom Burger, and these came with a side. It's about $12, which is kind of a lot. The mushroom has good flavor and texture. Come here mostly for the beer. It's also okay for some food. The prices aren't that cheap but are better than many places, and they have a big menu of burgers including Portobello for vegetarians. read more

Less than a month and I'm back again. It's Thursday night we are a party of three. We order calamari, onion rings, a traditional burger, a cheese pizza, and a sausage pizza loaded with veggies. The star of the show was the calamari it was fresh with an exceptional batter that was crispy and seasoned to perfection. Every other dish was delicious with the exception of the onion rings they had no flavor and they were greasy. We ordered two drinks a red sangria and a Mojito. We ordered off the app and while it was easy for the most part both times cheese was not put on the cheeseburger. Took us way too long to try this place. Really cool atmosphere inside and out. Food and beer was great and our waitress was awesome. Their menu has a ton of things I still want to try. We started with cheese curds and calamari, both very good. I also loved my bowl of jambalaya, I would order this again for sure. The beer had a number of options. They had a couple staple beers and plenty of seasonal taps to satisfy my IPA addiction. I had the Heater burger. It was awesome but keep in mind it has ghost peppers. Caught me off guard a little with how hot it was. It may not have helped that I touched my eye after touching the peeper which kicked things up a bit as well. The Brussels sprouts with bacon jam was so choice, would absolutely get them again. My wife had the steak sandwich and loved it plus she said the loaded tots were great. The oldest loved the chicken Shish kabobs. Our party also had the Salmon with sweet potato fries and blackened chicken quesadilla and said both were great. My husband was charged $6 for a tiny side of Mac and cheese. My daughter didn't care for the pesto on the flat bread pizza. The staff was nice and kept up even with a packed restaurant. It was so packed it was probably a fire hazard. There's nothing better than drinking a Bulleit Bourbon Old Fashioned on a Friday afternoon before a holiday. It's raining and humid outside making the atmosphere even cozier and relaxing. This is my second visit, and I am not disappointed one bit. I ordered the blackened chicken quesadilla with the best guacamole I've had in a long time. The food is consistently good and the selection of beers is always good and fun to choose from. The service is awesome. Everyone that works there works hard and it shows. A shout out to Jackie who is the manager. I have to say she's probably the hardest working management I've seen in my life... She keeps the place moving... I enjoy all their food but recently I've changed to the Reuben sandwich . It's so good! Last night I choose the sweet potato fries as my side. My 11-year-old grandson's favorite burger he's tried them everywhere this charcoal broiled burgers, terrific. I don't eat it but very rarely because of the calories, but I had an apple salad there tonight. I changed a little bit by adding tomatoes and taking out the cheese, my wife had the same thing and she said it was the best salad she ever had. My daughter raved about it. Their own beer selection isn't impressive and lacks variety, and guest taps are in the likes of Bud and Leinenkugel's. Food is standard pub fare. The pizza is just awful, another Yelper before me said it best: melted cheese on cardboard. The smoked wings were pretty good. The rest isn't terrible -- mostly in the likes of fried something or another.
