I'm hoping that I just ordered the wrong thing. For our 28th wedding anniversary, my husband took me for a train ride across hill country and made a reservation at Trailblazer. You must have a reservation with the train ride or you will be turned away. I ordered a salad with honey mustard dressing (small but good), a cup of chicken dumpling soup (simple and tasty), and an 8 oz sirloin strip (med well). The steak came out before I finished my salad and it was dry and tough. I had to ask for steak sauce to get half of it down. I took the other half home to my dog, as it was pretty tasteless as well. For dessert I ordered the peach cobbler. It too was dry and the ice cream seemed to be a cheap brand, definitely not blue bell or a premium caliber. The service was quick snd fast which was great, but i think it was more about moving tables. read more

This our new favorite place to get a hearty meal in Burnet. Bring your appetite! The "everything" nachos were more than enough to share among four as a starter, and everyone enjoyed their selections: chicken salad sandwich, cheeseburger, chicken tender basket, and bourbon chicken. This place is spectacular! As seriously discriminating eaters from Houston, this is really good food. Everything we ordered was surprisingly better than we could have expected, all with a very delicious handmade touch. Somebody really knows what they're doing and can cook!!! Several items were way better than we expected. The chicken and dumplings (Which most places serve bland ordinary) Had a nice peppery flavor and there was shredded chicken throughout. My husband commented that his Caesar salad was delicious and he could actually taste the nice anchovy flavor. My daughters baked mac & cheese was some of the best mac & cheese I've ever had. Everything tasted great and our server Teresa couldn't have been more helpful! Other things to note, this is a great place for families with kids, because there is an old-fashioned candy shop right inside the restaurant. It also happens to be on the main square in Burnet, so cute shops are right next-door. Highly recommend this comfortable restaurant. read more

My wife and I ate here today. I ordered the hamburger steak which was sent out to me half raw. I sent it back and watched my wife eat while I waited. Mine came back out properly cooked, so my wife sat and watched me eat. They then charged me full price just as if nothing happened. Bad idea. A smart manager having sent out raw food would take that charge off the ticket. Two mistakes here, sending out raw food then charging full price. I understand why the place was 95% empty. It won't hurt me to pay for their mistakes, but such management will hurt them. I cannot recommend this place at all. read more

This was our pick when we arrived from Cedar Park on the Train...The reasoning was because yelp offered a 50% off appetizers which they refused to accept, hence one star was lopped off....and truly with the attitude I received when asking why not, I doubt I would go back...Now the food was great...mostly...They offer Queso and Chips, and Salsa and Chips...both with a separate charge...Salsa was out of a bottle/can for sure and the Queso had little or no flavor....I cant recommend these...Both of us went with the Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Mac and Cheese...Everything was killer good...Steak was super tender...and if you get larger size, be prepared...its a monster...The taters were creamy and chunky all in one...great gravy as well...Mac and Cheese was some of the best we have had...period!!...cheese was crunchy on top and gooey in the middle...Really, Really good...Sadly we wont return when we visit Burnet again, and we will...Plenty of other spots to eat...Im sure we will find something we enjoy.. read more

I stopped in for lunch on a weekday, and it was delicious! I'd been here a few years ago and enjoyed it, and am glad to have such a tasty option to frequent now that we live in town. I had the spinach salad with crispy chicken. Yum!!! The spinach was very fresh and served with tons of toppings. Next time I'll ask for the blue cheese on the side because there must've been nearly 6 oz in there! The chicken was great. I definitely see this being a go-to place for us. read more

My family and I wound up here on a whim. We left Kempner and just drove. I looked up dinner menus in Burnet and the food at this place sounded good. Jessica was our server and she was amazing. Apologized for being delayed as she was the only one on shift at the time. No worries here, we weren't in a rush. Everything we ordered was great. I had the chicken pot pie with okra, hubby had a chicken fried steak, and kiddos ordered off the kids menu. The only sad thing was they were out of peach cobbler, it's ok though I survived. No masks to be seen here. You should care more about your employees and patrons. Food wasn't bad. Seems to be the only gig in town if you want a beer with your dinner. Sits on a prettty sparse looking town square which is dead on Friday night. Very friendly staff. read more

Food is good for the price. The restaurant is big and roomy you don't feel cramped. I enjoy eating there every time we go there.

I'm kinda up set with my food this time. I loved this place but I was on hold for more than ten minutes and then when I got there the restaurant was not busy. The waitress said she forgot about me. My chicken Caesar salad was $14 and most the lettuce was wilted. Just over disappointed. read more

Of course you can't compare Burnet with big cities like Dallas or Austin, but if you're looking for a place & you're in the area, I'd recommend Texas Tea-licious. Came with a group & we were quite surprised by their menu. aka $10 steak? What a deal. No, we didn't get that but what we did get was pretty good! Favorites: 1) Chili cheese fries as appetizer- really good portion & taste! loved it! 2) Mac & Cheese and Hash brown casserole- yum yum. I could've eaten 2 portions of hash brown casserole just by itself. Cheesy, bacon, deliciousness. What also looked delicious: 1) Grilled chicken salad- I didn't try it but my friend got it & it looked delicious! Fresh veggies & good portion of chicken. 2) 2 of the guys ordered the French dip & made it look really tasty. Meh: 1) Chicken salad sandwich- on the tea time menu. Our family came in for dessert and we each ordered a different one. All of them were fabulous- but the pecan pie (heated with Blue Bell vanilla ice cream) blew my mind. The crust was perfect and the filling was so sweet and fresh- made with real pecans. The regular meals looked delicious too. We are definitely coming back! This place is now called Trailblazer , not Tea-licious any more. We were greeted by a lackadaisical waitress; I don't know whether she thought she was cute or just being smart. The jury's still out on this. The four of us ordered, And some 25-30 minutes later our food appeared. The chicken fried steak was cold and bloody in the middle. This would have been ok with a ribeye, but definitely a turnoff with a chicken fried steak. We were finally were able to run our waitress down. She mumbled something like "sorry about that " and took the cfs away. At this point I became a spectator, watching the rest of my party eat while I awaited my replacement. About 20 minutes later, after everyone else had finished eating, my replacement cfs appeared. Guess what......it was cold and bloody inside, just like its predecessor. Our waitress asked what else I would like. I told her I would like "out of here". At this point, a man who is either the owner or manager appeared, saying how sorry he was, etc. Had he appeared after their first screw-up he might have had a shot at resolving the situation, but he was far too late. This rating would have been zero if my lunch companions hadn't found their meals acceptable. These are relatively new owners of this restaurant. If many others have the same experience I had, they will soon be in a heap of trouble. read more

While the food was great (I had the chicken pot pie), the service for my group of seven (7) was slow and the food wasn't as hot as it should have been. There is a sweet shop as well, where the candy is old fashioned and a favorite spot for the kids. I haven't had a chance to dine in here yet because we moved to Burnet during COVID, but I order DoorDash from Trailblazer's about once each month. Everything is ALWAYS delicious. The pie. The veggie burger, the southwest chicken sandwich, the kids' meals, the fries. The sweet tea. The beef burgers themselves are some of the best I've ever had! And their prices are very reasonable. They also offer gluten-free options and all kinds of different sides and drink options, even online. The portion sizes are huge. I can never finish an entire meal. On top of the great food, the thing that got me the most is one of my orders was weird once through DoorDash - not Trailblazer's fault - and a young woman answered the phone on Friday night while they were incredibly busy. Twice. Kept me updated. Then took the time to call and make sure I knew the Dasher picked up my order when it was ready. Totally unexpected and very much appreciated, as I'd had previous issues with delivery services in this small town. Love this place. I'd recommend it to anyone. :) read more

We stopped here for a quick dinner pick up after reading the glowing reviews about their chicken pot pie. This was nothing close to what's described. The chicken pot pie was luke warm and watery/soupy with no taste. We also ordered fried mushrooms and onion rings... both drenched in oil and mushy. The avocado chicken was a school kitchen frozen patty warmed up with brown sliced avocado on top. No taste. Not even salt and pepper. I ordered sweet potato fries and fruits as my side and got regular stale prob frozen French fries and obviously canned fruit.
