Possibly the worst food experience I've ever had. Not only did we get food poisoning but the experience itself was awful. The burgers were under cooked and almost raw. We took two bites before we realized the meat was raw on the inside. When we went up to the counter the employee got defensive and said "that's how we make them". The attitude was disturbing. Four hours later we were all sick. Puking and miserable! So I guess they got the last laugh. The fries were soggy and dark brown from overly used grease I'm sure. When I sent a private message to the owner he blocked me on Facebook. This is a seedy business with a disgusting kitchen and terrible customer service. Instead, go across the street to Mommas Home Cooking and get the patty melt, or just drive over to STORMS and get the sourdough burger. I live in Burnet. read more

The ladies at the counter were very friendly. Don't let the building mislead you on the quality of burgers. Friendly atmosphere inside, for sure. We ordered two burgers and onion rings. I thoroughly enjoyed my cheddar burger. It was huge! Hand formed patty that was well seasoned with real melty cheddar cheese. Scrumptious. This review is based solely on the service provided. *** this is one reason I do not like the pre-tipping concept. Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile. I remember thinking how wonderful. Our order two burgers, 15 wings and a chili cheese fries. All the food came out quickly and looked delicious. My burger was a bit on the salty side no actually it was really salty so I asked for another one. I know not everyone has a preference to that, but I can't have a lot of salt. It was my fault for not questioning how much seasoning they put on it but normally there's never that much on a burger. The lady didn't smile she said wait my order will be out. I told her how I wanted it and it came out wrong but no big deal. I took the onions off and asked for some mayonnaise. All of a sudden she got an attitude and said you told me just lettuce, tomato and onions instead of just grabbing me mayonnaise, smiling, and making a day of it. Her whole demeanor changed and all of a sudden she was pissed off. Completely ruined a great lunch because she took it personally that I didn't like the first burger. If I could, I would take back my tip.They seem extremely nice until you ask for something to be redone. Not to mention they make you wait what seems like purposely to get another burger made. Because of the service this place is a no for me. And it's a shame because the food really is exceptional. read more

The onion rings and bacon cheese fries were the stars of the day. They were excellent. Thick cut bacon on the fries, a side of ranch with the rings. The double D burger was just ok. Too much garlic Parmesan sauce - overpowering. The patty was nicely cooked with a nice smash burger quality crunch - but it was rather bland. No seasoning at all. Throw some salt or season all on it and it would elevate this burger to new heights! A companion had the mushroom burger but it had hardly any mushrooms at all - only a couple. Very disappointing for her. My other companion got a single cheeseburger. She had the same opinion about the bland patty, and her bun was charred on top and bottom. Bathrooms had a horrible smell to them. Please do something about this. The meals weren't bad, just not memorable. Without the fries and onion rings, this would have rated 2 stars. read more

We opted for the spicy fried pickles as a shared side, but couldn't eat them as they are WAY TOO SALTY from whatever spice they're using !!! We threw them away so DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THEM !!! They're not that spicy anyways but you wouldn't know anyways because of all the salt. I suggest using a spicy salt free spice to resolve this issue. Because of that, 4 Stars !!!! It was 9pm and we just rolled into town to stay the night for the Christmas parade. We were hungry, but didn't want to over do it. The ambiance was typical burger joint with a beer garden in the back. They had the naked chicken on the menu, but I wanted a burger instead. They accommodated nicely and made a custom order that I named the "naked cow". It was a nice salad with lettuce, pickles and tomato with a smash cheeseburger on top. Great little mom and pop place to get a great burger. They even have turkey burgers, which the misses loves. Portions with the fries is huge, so be ready to share. Because after ordering and spelling my name for the girl behind the counter, she got my name wrong. For the record, my name was and is NOT Preston. As such, I had no reason to go get "Preston's" food. The lady behind the counter came and asked if I was "Preston" with the food. I said "No, my name is Russell, not Preston". She then said, "I have been calling your name. Did you order xxxxx and I said yes but, I am still not Preston". If I'm not mistaken as well a few years ago they were voted #5 Best Burgers in Texas by Texas Monthly (might have the magazine wrong). I go to Bills EVERY TIME I want a burger and won't settle for anywhere else if Bills is near. And their burgers are GIANT! Their French Fries portion are GIANT and I'd urge you to get a half order unless you can eat an abnormal amount of food. I order the Half Order of FF and share it with my friends or mom! Very overpriced compared to what you get. We go to sit down restaurants for seafood and burgers for the same price as here. Ordered 2 burgers, 3 kids burgers, 2 beers, one fried cucumber and it was $80. As for the burgers? Absolutely no seasoning other than overly salted. If you want to have a great burger and feel like a local, this is the spot for you. I recommend trying it out for a visit. The parking lot is pretty packed, so be careful. Make sure you watch how you can park, because it is easy to get stuck as well. The building is quaint and appears to have been serving burgers for years. The inside is tight, but I never felt like I was getting slammed by people moving around. They put a lot of tables in there very well. You enter and make a left around the wall to order at the counter. Don't worry about getting a table until you order. They will call you and you can come back to get it after you sit down. The counter folks were great and engaged. I had a Fanta grape, 1/2 sized onion rings and the BBQ cheeseburger. The soda was very cool. The food was MASSIVE in size/quantity. You won't leave hungry. Onion rings were pretty good and seasoned well. I liked them but my date thought they had an after taste should couldn't identify. Must be different taste buds. The burger was just huge. The patty was ginormous and savory. I could barely taste the BBQ sauce so there wasn't much on there, but the grilled onions were very greasy and soaked the bun on that side. I thought I would get a slice of cheese, but it was all grated. That was weird. It also came with pickle slices that weren't on the list, but they were easily removed.
