    Damn big burrito
    Josh P.

My Dad and I stayed in a cabin at Black Rock park over the weekend and he insisted on the Dam Grill for breakfast on Saturday. We went around 10am and were immediately seated. I got a coffee and he got sweet tea. To eat, I got the damn big burrito. It was decent sized and great value for the price. He got a breakfast combo that had everything! Eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and sausage...it was a huge plate! Both meals were really good and we left full and happy. Service was good and friendly.

Nice little restaurant. The food tasted good and the price wasn't too bad. The waitress was nice and made sure our drinks were full. The one thing I didn't care for was the hamburger buns were sweet and I do not like a sweet bun on my hamburger. It would be nice to have more than 12 fries with the burger. Ordered a side of fried okra and got approximately 14 little okra for the basket. Now you consider that with the price that was charged it was really expensive. I'm pretty sure french fries and okra are cheap enough to add an extra handful for the price being charged.

My husband had a chicken fried steak sandwich which he said was very good, I had a burger and fries and it was also really good, the wait staff was friendly enough and our food came out quickly.

Visiting the area and completely underestimated "The Dam Grill"! They blew my mind! The service was amazing! I was not expecting the food to be that good! I got a spicy chili cheese burger & fries, down the to bun! What the heck was in that bun to make it so addicting!!! I knew it was going to be good when they brought out a roll of paper towels My husband and son both loved theirs also! For my son to rave about his chicken tenders was a win in itself ! If your ever visiting the area, this is the place to eat

Best damn burger I've had in a while & I try them everywhere in the hill country! Meat was hand smashed & grilled perfect. Bun buttered grilled & perfect. This is the kind of burger that's juicy & drips down your elbow. But next time I'm going back & having the Club Sandwich that the table next to me ordered. Looked legit & yummy!

Hot , tasty, friendly service. Clean and well lit dinner. We will be back. I even got a ten percent discount for being a first responder.

The service was really bad. My pork chops were dry . The fried okra was very good, though.

Love the "too dam big" burrito. A little something of everything in there. Great lazy Saturday morning grub.

Unfortunately, the experience started off a little rough. We waited quite a while to be seated while several staff members walked past us. Eventually, someone asked what we needed, even though the sign clearly said to wait for the hostess. We were told to wait a little longer before finally being seated. Thankfully, our waitress completely turned the experience around. She was friendly, attentive, and efficient. She brought our drinks out quickly, took our order right away, and made us feel welcome. We each ordered two tacos, and they were delicious! They're much bigger than they look, so if you're not very hungry, one taco is probably enough. After our meal, we asked if we could explore the upstairs area, and our server happily said yes and encouraged us to look around the restaurant at all of the unique horror memorabilia and decorations. Overall, I'm glad we made the stop because it was a fun experience and crossed a bucket-list destination off our list. While I'm not sure I'd come back just for the food, I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're a horror fan or passing through the area.

Smoking is allowed at the bar. 4 oerson tables are far enough away that this has minimal impact on the dining experience. Food wise: I had the Two-fer shrimp and catfish baskets. First impression was that they were overdone. Not so. Both items were just right, crispy outside, tender and moist inside. Fries were a little dry, but then again, I like mine a little greasy. Sweet tea was goid, not too much or too little sweetness. Prices are a little on the high side of moderate. Portions are good. Service was good. Bottom line, I'll visit again.

Since area diners (the Dam Grill, Crazy Gals) stop serving breakfast long before lunch (10:30 really?!) we were excited about the prospect of "breakfast all day " but the Big Easy offers wraps and sandwiches, no traditional eggs, toast & bacon plates or other breakfast selections. I had the chorizo wrap and my husband had the sausage wrap. I think they used a canned chile base for the chorizo, which I dig in a frito pie, but its prominence over other ingredients (egg, cheese and chorizo), was disappointing. My husband's egg's were burnt prompting him to observe that the food wasn't good enough to waste an appetite on. There are two separate buildings in the "L" of which is a small outdoor space featuring a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs and some other seating. The second building's interior perimeter is lined with arcade games and the kitchen is in the back corner. The potential for fun exists here, if you're a smoker. Neither building has the ceiling height or square footage to create "smoking areas" so it's a "feature" that can't be ignored. They advertise a Karaoke night and live music though where either would take place is cause for wonder because "intimate" is an apropos term to describe the place (inside or out).
