TL,DR: of the two Mexican food joints in town? THIS ONE is your best best for good service and delicious, authentic food. Only downside: no alcohol. Continuing on the Cinco de Mayo camping weekend, with the temps hitting over 100* today we defended to come back out and not cook (don't want to heat up the camper!) and try out the other Mexican food joint in town. So glad we did! This place is top notch! Really tasty salsa- not too hot, but just enough heat and REALLY good flavor. Chips that are hearty enough to stand up to the guacamole (with pico and Serrano (we asked for jalapeños but got serranos, and yes, we'll probably pay for that later)) and a server who noticed, without our asking, that we needed more chips and salsa long before we ran out! We both ordered the #1 combo: chicken enchiladas, beef crispy taco, guacamole and beans (no rice) Taco and guacamole out first (cold plate) and it's delicious! The meat is flavorful but not overly spicy, the hunks of tomatoes in the taco are ripe and fresh. And the big glob of guacamole has me super happy! On to the hot plate- these enchiladas are OUTSTANDING!! The corn tortillas have such a rustic and authentic flavor, nearly falling apart under the queso they're smothered in. The chicken is juicy and holds its own. One bite with some of the beans included and it's a fiesta in your mouth! Two enchiladas, along with the taco and guacamole, make this a perfectly sized meal. I won't be hungry but I won't be stuffed, either. Only downside, and perhaps the reason the other place has more reviewers: no alcoholic drinks (not even beer/wine). But really, back to the lake with a few beers of our own, and this place has won a spot in our hearts for La Vida Dulce!

Amazing service and food. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of tacos they were really good. There was also a good variety of foods on the menu. Overall a amazing restaurant

Their cheese enchiladas are out of this world!!

It's become a tradition to stop here on the way to the lake house. We absolutely love their cheese enchiladas and get them every time. They are some of the best we've had...the perfect amount of cheese and the gravy is so incredibly good! Their salsa is fantastic and we always have amazing service when we visit.

The sour cream enchiladas tasted clumpy and powdery. It looked like spoiled old ingredients. My husband unfortunately could not finish his food. They have increased their prices for what little they serve. I can get cleaner, better service at other Mexican places in town. I no longer go here.

I almost didn't stop here because it wasn't on yelp and I'm so glad we did! The service was great! The lady's were friendly and answered all my questions about the menu. I asked the local people sitting next to me what they recommended and they said everything is great here. All the food is made from scratch. My husband ordered the tamale plate and he loved it. I sampled it and it was really good. I ordered the Cielo Mar Y Tierra, which basically is a combination fajita, it had beef, pork, chicken & shrimp with guacamole, pico, rice and beans and corn or flour tortillas.. I ordered the single and it was huge! All the meat had excellent flavor and their beans and rice were very good. My husband doesn't really like rice and he made a point to tell the lady it was wonderful! When we went to pay a very nice gentleman who owns Welding and Stuff from Houston paid for our dinner. He was working in town and said he eats here when he's in town too! I would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back the next time I'm in the area.

Food was out of this world, service was quick and very attentive. Ambiance was very authentic to the culture. Definitely recommend.

Great food, great service. Had the mini taquitos plate (street tacos) with pastor meat and was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

    Enchiladas with verde sauce

It's reasonably price food. It's ok, nothing really special though. Good enough for a semi quick lunch. About $8 to $12 a plate. The hot sauce had some heat to it. You get chips and salsa. The enchiladas with sour cream sauce were a little strange tasting. Not the sour cream sauce my wife makes anyway. Hers is awesome. The verde sauce had a kind of twang at the end. A little sour. It was ok though. My daughter had the tortilla soup. It's a huge bowl and not bad at all.

This still isn't the place, but I will say this food is sooooo savory and HOT!! I got three tacos, one carne guisada, one barbacoa and one asada ala Mexicana! The asada taco with all its bell peppers and onions and delicious juiciness were the bomb! I'd go back for those alone. The carne guisada was tasty (not quite like the ones back home), had a red gravy, I'm used to a more browner/grayish (I know sounds weird) gravy. But it had a lot of flavor that I'll probably be driving 20 or so miles outta the way for. I'll probably skip the barbacoa in the future (Juarez in RRTX has my vote for some pretty tasty barbacoa). The tacos are small but they're only like $3.85 each or something like that. A variety of small tacos is really all you need to fill you up especially for a quick road trip through Bertram. I look forward to stopping by for breakfast. Again, probably won't be like my tacos back home but still good and better than a lot of other places in the Austin and Austin metro area. Step it up central Texas!!

We had the menudo, the burrito con steak plate, and the beef enchiladas... to drink we got a pina. The flavor in all of it was superb... I mean it was giving me a food orgasm the entire time! I wish I would have taken pics, but alas, I did not. This is one of the most authentic Mexican spots I've ever had, and we have had a lot. If you aren't the type who likes, or can handle, for that matter, seasoning and flavor, stay away! The service of the guys that work here was also just as good. No doubt we will return!! The green posole was just the right amount of heat with the fixens (cabbage, lime, onion, etc.), was delicious. Have no complaints other than why didn't I try them sooner? Very good and authentic food for this area.

I much prefer leaving good reviews, so I'll start with the good. He said the girl was very nice, and the service was very good. The refried beans were very good. The potatoes didn't "look" done at all, but they were soft and tasted okay. It seemed like they were boiled, not fried. He said the bacon was okay. The migas??? Oh my goodness, I had to pick through the (mostly dried out, tough) corn tortillas to even find a couple of tiny pieces of egg. No tomatoes, onions like normal migas plates I've ever eaten, and there were 3 slices of fresh jalapenos on top of the migas. My usual experience with Migas are nice and crispy, fresh corn tortillas with sautéed onions, jalapeños, tomatoes, and plenty of eggs so this was a different experience for us, and I wouldn't call it good. We were disappointed to say the least. I admit we did not bring it to their attention as we got the order to go and we're not from the area, and the place we were staying was several miles outside of Marble Falls so we didn't make the effort to go back. We should've brought it to their attention, but we didn't. I did notice that. most of their reviews are good, so maybe this was a one time thing.
