I was pretty impressed that the kitchen also included knives, utensils, pots, pans, dishcloths, plates, and complimentary popcorn. Of course there was the standard tv, coffee, and queen size bed. Figured it was worth it as it was getting dark and Beckley is 30 some miles away. The hotel is situated 3 miles from downtown Welsh on Hwy 16 (Stewart Street).It's a very quaint motel. Met the clerk at the motel (who met us at the office since no one is there 24/7) and checked in which was a very easy process. She was very personable and friendly. She informed they recently got a new mayor who is very ATV friendly....which hopefully will boost business. The room was very clean and loved that it included a refrigerator and microwave. The tiled bathroom floor and tiled entry area were pretty sticky and the carpet didn't look completely vacuumed. But overall the cleanliness was good. There isn't a coffee maker in the room but I did notice there is one in the lobby. But since no one is in the lobby 24/7 and it remains locked, I'm not sure how someone would access it. There is WIFI but it was pretty weak...assuming the equipment is in the office and my room was the farthest one away. Overall, it's a cute motel that's comfortable and has most of the necessities. It sure beats driving in the dark on some of these windy roads. Highly recommend!

The other desk agent was goofing off behind the desk, not helping the growing line of patrons waiting to check in. When it was finally my turn, the desk agent asked for the EXACT SAME Information i had already provided for pre-registration online. What a waste of time. Then I get the key and go to the room. I open the door to discover that the heat is blasting, the room was 110 degrees, and the beds are DISASSEMBLED with stained mattresses propped up vertically. I immediately returned to the desk but had to WAIT IN LINE AGAIN. I picked up the manager's business card in the lobby. But it was not the mgr that answered when I called. It was the other desk agent that was goofing off. The email address on my receipt was not a valid email. It bounced back as an invalid email. The worker goofing off told the other one that "we had a car" and we "could leave and go somewhere else" and she should "not sweat her incompetence or lack of hospitality".

My room was the only one left with king bed. And it was the mobility room. Many bars in the toilet and generally a bigger toilet And decently clean I did notice some dirt on the side tables and I would advise them to check more closely on the side tables and the table in front of the mirror. My coffee machine was not working. And I informed them. But since I was checking out in two days it didnt matter to me. Free breakfast every morning from 6 am to 10 am. The spread is bigger than a usual Hampton Inn's There is a vatiety of toast, sometimes bagels, scones muffins, oatmeal and even cereal. There is even a card at the breakfast table to let u know that if you had dietary restrictions to let them know. Overall a wonderful experience.
