She came home that day with a tooth pulled, teeth polished and abscess cleaned up. All a last minute appointment. Other emergency vets said they could not take care of teeth issues. I have been using Dr. Funk for about 20 years. Him and his staff is always thoughtful and kind and competent we are lucky to have him in Greenfield Ma.

I'm using another here in NH for about 17 years now. I just had a horrible experience with adopting a rabbit who carried walking dander fur mites. OMG I don't wish that on anyone. Horrible for humans. Anyhow it over night went crazy and attacked my dogs and cat. Rabbits are very expensive...so to people whom think easy...no go for the cat. So hundreds of dollars for the rabbit...exotic vet not the one I have hear. Any how I was saying how Dr Funk was true oldfationed for the love of animals and their welfare. Now days it's not the same. Their will never be another DR like him. He's special! Yes I do believe hes the cat whisper. Always had his cats. I met his wife in the lady's room after a race...I congratulated her and well she stated he truly loves animals. He dropped to the floor, became paralyzed in the back end and was crying out in pain. It was close to opening time so we were able to get him to SFVH immediately. Upon our arrival we had to wait as he was crying out in pain. We stayed calm and waited until Dr. Broady finished up with a client. We should have been taken right in. Everyone heard our cat crying. He was in a lot of pain. We had gotten the diagnosis he had a stroke. Dr. Broady kept talking to us as our cat was still crying out in pain and then he started panting and the vet tech had to say "Doc what are we going to do for Axl." Like let's get going! He needed to see a Cardiologist so about a week or so later he saw one at SFVH. We were told we'd get to speak with the Cardiologist. That never happened. I had also asked if I could be with our cat as I was worried he'd be scared without me being with him after all he'd been through. I was told no as it was a small room and there wasn't enough room for another person. I was told we would be sent the report by Thursday. It was a bit hectic there and I had questions but I figured I'd ask at a later time. Two days later I received a call in the morning from Dr. Broady asking how Axl was and then he proceeded to tell me that wasn't the reason why he was calling and he started yelling at me and questioning me about something I had nothing to do with and had no knowledge of! After he had his tantrum he hung up on me! I had not received Axl's echo report so on Sunday the 29th I sent an email asking for the report if they had it and I asked some other questions I had regarding Axl's care. On Monday, just before closing I received the report with a letter from Dr. Broady that due to my interactions and behavior with his staff over the last few weeks he would no longer be treating our cats. WHAT?! I asked for specifics as to what he was referring to because I had no clue what caused him to say that. I never got an answer. He left us hanging with a cat that has CHF and a report we don't understand and have questions that never did get answered and more questions after seeing the report. What kind of vet acts like he did and leaves a client with a cat that has CHF hanging with no medical care? He should be ashamed of himself! After this all took place I got to thinking about things. There has never been more dental cleanings and extractions done with our cats since we started going there. Were they really necessary? I'm beginning to think not! Also, how can there be one vet and you're open only four days a week from 8-5 take on new clients all the time or take in "emergencies" from a non client? Perhaps he is loosing patients? Either they leave due to his attitude or he drops them at will when he gets a bug up his butt! Beware of this so called vet with his Jekyll and Hyde attitude. And yes, a complaint has been sent to the MA state licensing board regarding his actions.

They agreed that I could pay, and they would come out to my car and give my dog her shots. My dog had a complete physical less than 2 weeks ago at the south Deerfield clinic. She had been hit by a car. The South Deerfield veterinary hospital did a complete physical on her and said she was healthy. This included complete labs and an ultrasound. I couldn't make the appointment, so my wife brought the dog. Once there, they refused to give the dog the shots without a complete physical. Despite my wife informing them of the South Deerfield visit, they insisted. They also drew blood, etc., and charged for labs the dog ALREADY HAD less than 2 weeks earlier. I hope they needed the $400.00 more than our family does. I wish I could give a lower rating. This is why people bring their pets to Tractor Supply, Petco, and other places for vaccine clinics.

Unfortunately we tend to lash out due to our feeling overwhelmed. Kudos to them. As for Dr underwood, fortunately she is direct, not always liked for that reason, but there will never be any guesswork on where you or your pet stand! tl;dr - They were…read morefrequently telling me inconsistent things, and when they made mistakes, they didn't apologize, let alone acknowledge those mistakes - they were assholes. ** I'm new to the area and called about boarding my small dog while I headed to a silent meditation course. The first reception person I spoke to (whose name I didn't get) was nice. She told me the dates I needed would work, and that all I had to do was drop off a fecal sample. I did that the next morning, to a reception person called Elizabeth. She told me the cost was $30, which had not been mentioned before. It wasn't cool that this (seemingly way too high) fee had not been mentioned, particularly when paying it doesn't confirm booking, and they were not offering a record of these test results. But I needed a place for my pup to stay (and I'd already collected the shit and driven it over), so I paid it. I also sent over vaccination records. Elizabeth left a voicemail to say the fecal test was negative, which was good, but that my dog's Bordetella record was missing. I had thought it was included, but I misremembered what it was called (my dog has a pet passport from Europe which is in Italian). Elizabeth had a habit of replying with the word 'Correct' in this kind of authoritative way, even when the thing in question was not. She did this on our call, and I overheard it in the office when she was speaking to another customer. So I called around a bunch to try and confirm a Bordetella shot, and eventually found a nice vet who could do it. I called Pioneer Valley back to ask if I could confirm the dates for boarding now that the Bordetella shot was scheduled. This time I got Linda, who at least wasn't rude, but the call took forever. She told me Bordetella was there, but distemper was missing. Getting this information took something like 25 minutes. I mentioned a couple times that Elizabeth had told me the opposite the day before, explicitly confirming distemper was there. I knew my dog had had the distemper shot previously, so I confirmed with Linda that they offered it at their facility, and that he could get it and still board there assuming he had had the shot previously (so therefore did not need the booster). Linda told me this was fine. I found the record quickly and sent it over, and someone named Alyssa called back. Alyssa was a dick. She was rude as hell as she told me the vaccine record I had provided wouldn't work (there is definitely a nice, professional way to do this). She made me re-confirm the boarding dates I had requested for something like the 5th time, only to once again tell me they couldn't take him. I told her Linda had confirmed for me that they could do distemper maybe 15 minutes before. Alyssa said they couldn't get him in for this because "they were booked until August, and he would need a full checkup BY LAW." Emphasis hers. There was no apology for their terrible internal communication, and their even worse treatment of me as a customer, and as a human being. I want my $30 back. Don't go to a place like this where they're incompetent and they treat people poorly. There are other super nice, knowledgable vets (Shelburne Falls Vet Hospital is one!) minutes away.

Dr. Sidorsky saved my best friend's life…read more After having had consulted with our previous vet, and having been provided with questionable advice, I contacted the good doctor in order to seek out a second opinion. He provided me with excellent advice via phone, and after being refused further treatment by my previous vet, Dr. Sidorsky offered to come by my home and provide me with some options. All of our animals, including my sick dog, felt comfortable around him, and he provided me with detailed 1 on 1 instruction in administration of the antibiotics and use of equipment that he provided me. He followed up with me on a daily basis regarding progress, and made a second house call to confirm that my dog's health had improved. At the initial visit, we were discussing hospice and a shot in the dark to save my dog's life. Now we're discussing how much he has improved. His prices were on par (if not lower in some ways ) than my normal vet, and his bedside manner professional and compassionate. I've found my new vet, and am recommending him to all my friends. Having a vet do house call may seem a bit odd at first glance, but I can say from experience that it's my new preference (no more having to load the animal into the car and have them terrified at the smell of the regular vet). Try his service out. You won't be disappointed.
