The staffs are very helpful and friendly. One small thing to mention: They do provide shotguns for rental but the only standard option is KS7, which is cool if it's not jamming. I went to rent it twice and it both jammed. Staffs are nice as they switched Benelli M4 to me which was intended to be a "premium" rental. Would be nicer if they also provide 590/870/any other pump-action shotguns as standard options in the future. Apart from that, there's nothing I can complain. There was a time I went to the range with a friend who's shooting for the first time. Chris was very helpful and provides my friend with a quick but through intro and some other helps. For the shop: Great service. There's a young staff who is really friendly and helpful. No one would push you to make decisions here (which I like it) but you can always find helps if needed.

I took the entry-level pump shotgun class last night. I had only ever shot handguns before and was…read morelooking forward to actually shooting a 12 ga. shotgun I had purchased over a decade ago and never shot. The first two hours were spent in the classroom with information presented on gun/range safety, types of shells, patterning, etc. The instructor was ex-military and had SWAT and ballistics experience, and it was evident he knew what he was doing/talking about. He also took questions throughout and provided thoughtful answers. We spent a fair amount of time on how to disassemble our guns and clean/oil them. The instructor and another fellow helped everyone with this. We went to the range for approximately the last hour of class and were shown how to load ammo and hold our guns (along with more range safety training). We shot several dummy rounds before starting the live fire rounds at paper targets (both single and quick succession firing). Then back to class for a wrap-up/survey (I left a very brief survey page, but expounding on it here). My personal objective for attending the class (I am a female, by the way), was familiarization with my gun (how it works, proper way to hold it, ammo selection (which type for which use, as there are so many kinds/sizes), cleaning/disassembly, how it feels to shoot it, safe handling, etc.) These objectives were all met, and while I definitely need to work on my stance and aim so I'm actually doing what the instructor said to do and not just trying to do it, I feel so much more comfortable now with that gun than before the class. Night and day difference. The class was definitely money well spent. The only nitpick I have is that we were required to purchase 60 rounds of ammo (20 00, 20 #4, and 20 slugs. After shooting the dummy rounds, we only had time to shoot 10 live shots, so I have 50 expensive rounds left. I don't know if/when I will ever shoot that gun again, so ??? I probably should try to make some time to practice, as an hour plus of loading/shooting training for a brand new long gun shooter isn't enough time for any degree of proficiency, but I think requiring 5 rounds (or max 10), of each type of ammo would be better (not 20!) or extend the shooting time and add a short break to shoot more. All in all, an excellent class and instructor, and I definitely recommend it for anyone new to pump shotgun shooting. Cheers!

Date: 5/15/22 Time: 8am - 6pm…read more I shot a gun for the first time ever during Alan's 9-hour Gun Safety Class yesterday. Long, but worth it/well done! When I think of Alan's teaching style, I think precision. The man is precise & seriously communicated the need to handle firearms appropriately/responsibly. At first, I thought Alan was someone I would be playing DnD or watching the Sci-Fi channel with. But do not let looks deceive you! The man is a committed father to his (9) year old daughter & is handy with the steel if you know what I mean. Alan controls the gun; the gun does not control Alan. That is essentially what he seeks to impart on his students. You experience (4) rounds of firing various handguns in the range. Alan leads the class from the classroom to the shooting range with another instructor or has his own class. Impressive timing. You have (2) other instructors watching you like a hawk. It can be surprising at first, but they move your hands around to help you correctly hold a gun. Bad habits are difficult to correct. I am glad they have this sense of urgency in class. The 2nd Amendment in the US Constitution was put there to empower the individual to protect themselves against a government that had too much power used incorrectly. If you choose to vote to restrict it, at least shoot a gun once to better understand the political arguments on an experiential level. There is already a large segment of the US population that is trying to restrict abortion for women. But how can they be so sure that is the right course of action? How many voting to restrict abortion have had one and/or been forced to have one themselves? To truly understand something like the pain a mother goes through when she decides to abort her baby or why so many Americans are adamant on the 2nd Amendment, you need to experience it. You undeniably get a better understanding through lived experience. The majority of Americans will never have an abortion, but we can shoot guns after a certain age. Take Alan's class & shoot some guns. Come to your own conclusions. As for me, Alan's class makes me proud to be an American. I am looking forward to taking his multi-state permit class next month! Thanks, Alan and team! -----------------UPDATE------------------------- I-1639 + Multi State Concealed Carry Class Date: 6/12/2022 Time: 8am - 12:30pm Instructor: Alan Hines My 2nd class with Alan did not disappoint. I surprised to find a fingerprinting agent there. Excellent value add there. I didn't realize the certificate of completion at the end helped you buy a rifle in WA state. Not my intention, but good to know if you want that. Alan's attention to detail down to the color of the pen you need to use shines here. It's amazing how the smallest error can cause a kickback in your application. What you will notice about this class is that it is gun safety/suicide prevention/WA state heavy. Alan allocates less than an hour for the verbose Utah state classes. I would've liked to see more time spent on that and the nuances of gun permits in other states. What this does emphasize is Insights commitment to gun safety. It's just a personal opinion that I think Alan focuses less on gun safety and more on permit/state laws. A final suggestion is to add filling out the Arizona application. That requires (1) more fingerprinting card & an Arizona specific application. But the gun permit in AZ gets you a permit in New Mexico. Extra work for the fingerprinting agent, but a value add for the customer for sure. I appreciate Alan's organized packet that is in sync with his presentation. Thanks again, Alan! ------------------------------------- Pepper Spray Seminar Date: 6/12/2022 Time: 2pm - 5pm I came back from the Bai Tong Thai Restaurant (I recommend it!) to find that Alan was not my instructor! It was a gentleman named Benjamin. I noticed Alan was in the back of the class. Benjamin's style is more storytelling and fun than Alan's (but Alan's got jokes too!). Benjamin draws on his extensive military & police experience to color his teachings. Like Alan, a committed father & husband who is concerned with the safety of those he loves. Benjamin definitely tells it to you straight. He has a more visceral style than Alan. Mainly because the last part of the class involved him pretending to be an attacker & the students discerning when they could spray him (not real pepper spray of course lol). I didn't participate because I am a bit conflict averse. However, I found it helpful to see an ex-police officer show you what would & would not fly from an officer's perspective. I wish he got more into how the potential legal struggle would pan out if you got into a "He said, She said" scenario where you pepper sprayed someone legally, but they claimed you attacked them. There aren't always witnesses, video or audio. My final feedback is that he wasn't as organized as Alan. Thank you for a fun & useful day, Alan and Benjamin!

We had the opportunity to shoot a glock, semi-automatic rifle, shotgun, riot weapons (less lethal), sniper rifle, and automatic rifle. I was previously in the Marine Corps before attending Coding Dojo with a background in Accounting and Diplomatic Security and very basic HTML/CSS knowledge. Immediately we knew the school would require a lot of attention, time sacrifice, and time management. Most days would range easily putting in 12 hour days, 5-7 days a week. I didn't fully know what world I would be getting myself into but I knew from dabbling with Code Academy and enjoying it, that I wanted to become a full-time Programmer. The instructors/staff are incredibly nice and helpful. The instructors and TA's are caring and patient; they do their best to help you understand the material. Bending over backwards and sitting with you for as long as needed to help you understand what you're doing. I really appreciated when they would record the lectures and demonstrations so I can go back on the material for live examples and code with the videos. I have struggled a lot during the school but I see it as constant room for growth and that there is a lot to be learned in Programming and you shouldn't give up. Multiple assignments and class work a day plus algorithms will feel heavy and challenging. But I believe with struggle comes strength and some points you'll question it all. And learning and soaking in the material feels quick but you'll soon realize you know more than you give yourself credit for. The implementation of the "20-minute rule" for working on your own, then asking a TA is a great push to becoming a self-sufficient developer. Students will grow to need less supervision and how to find the answers instead of having the answers given to them. Coding Dojo helped give me the skills and understanding for walking into the massive realm of web/software development and that there is much more to be learned, and in many different languages. And if I wanted to learn a different language, it's doable. It makes me eager to continually and constantly learn as an aspiring self-sufficient developer."
