I never knew how great it could be to go to the dentist until Dr. Chesler's office! The office is tucked away in a tiny shopping plaza. It is beautiful inside. There are three patient chairs, each with a TV in the ceiling for entertainment while you sit back and relax during your appointment. There's even a complimentary beverage at the end of your appointment. If a dental office could be spa-level, it would look like this. Dr. Chesler is a former military dentist and has exceptional training and experience. She and her staff, especially Lisa, are so friendly they feel more like lifelong friends than dentists. Their office does not accept Tricare but has been flexible with my payment options, allowing me to pay out of pocket at a reasonable price when they weren't in network with my new insurance. I most appreciate when I was unsure about my new in-network dentist telling me I needed 11 fillings so Dr. Chesler gave me a consultation, preventing a dishonest dentist from wrongly drilling into my healthy teeth. I am so grateful she happily and quickly gave me a second opinion! I can't recommend Dr. Chesler and her staff enough! read more

Dr. Chesler gave me my smile back!!!!!!!!!!!! About 17 years ago I had my top 10 teeth bonded when I lived on the east coast. I was so happy with my smile for at least a decade after that. But these past 5 years, my smile had suffered the staining (coffee, red wine...) of time and unfortunately had started to chip. I knew it was time for a redo but my dentist in La Jolla only wanted to do porcelain veneers. 10 porcelain veneers cost more than what I paid for nursing school. I actually contacted my old dentist who did my work on the east coast, only problem is adding in the extra cost of flight, rental car & hotel (and inconvience)- it was getting pricey. My husband convinced me there must be a dentist in North County that could do this. I searched online and had heard of Dr. Chesler through a friend and I figured I would see her for a consult. I pulled into the center where her office is and from the moment I walked into her dentist office, I instinctively knew I was at the right place. Her receptionist, Emma is warm, friendly and comforting. I was taken back to meet with her and she knew EXACTLY what I was talking about. Her confidence that she could deliver what I wanted was so reassuring. I left that day knowing I was with the right dentist. I was given the exact cost and treatment plan, no gimmicks, no up selling. When she redid all my cosmetic work, it took an entire day and she cleared her whole schedule for me. I was her only patient that day. She had to remove all the old bonding and FREE HAND my "bedside veneers". She also professionally whitened all my teeth. Her dental hygienist was incredible!! I even watched movies on a screen mounted in the ceiling with headphones on. And with all the work I had done, I had NO PAIN! none! zero! I can't believe how awesome my smile looks now! I have received so many compliments from total strangers on how nice my smile is! Needless to say, Dr. Chesler is now my regular dentist. My husband is blown away, he is switching to her also! I came to Dr. Chesler for a second opinion a year or so ago and I'm here for the long run. Dr. Chesler is very nice, informative and runs a great practice. The hygienists are all great. The receptionist is very nice and helpful as well. After looking through the reviews I noticed multiple people complaining about not seeing the Dr during their visit. Im not sure if everyone knows how this works, but not every visit includes an exam by the doctor, nor is it necessary. I would recommend this practice to anyone. As much as I would like to give Lisa, dental hygienist, 5 stars, I could give the dentist office 0 if possible. I cannot not begin to explain the billing issues I have had since Andrea has taken over the front desk. I feel Dr. Chesler did a great job transitioning the office from Dr. Greenburg, (previous owner), but might want to reassess the front desk. I am a very patient person but have pulled hair over trying to work with Andrea over the past couple of years! I am supportive of "someone might be having a bad day" and giving them a second chance, but Andrea was consistently rude, short and could rarely explain our bills. Highly recommend! Dr. Chesler and her staff are incredible. Her level of integrity and knowledge of your needs surpass my expectations every time. I had some work in the past that was less then perfect. Instead of saying let's take it out and redo Dr. Chesler keeps an eye on it because she knows touching it again (unless there is a real reason like decay) undermines the strength of the tooth. She told me what to do to keep it maintained and inspects it when I come in for my cleanings. This really wowed me! Her team is truly that and they make sure you are part of your overall oral health. My first appointment to Dr. Chesler's office was exceptional. Andrea explained all my insurance questions. They are not on my list of providers but I am happier with the personal individual attention at this office than at my previous dental office. Dr. Chesler explains everything in detail. I have been to this office 3 times for routine cleaning in the span of 18 months. I saw the dentist only 1 time. The other 2 times I was told she left to pick up her kids from school and the 2nd time, I was told she just left but because I had no issues, it wasn't a problem. Please note that I had just seen the Dentist with another patient, but then she left knowing she had other patients?! This does not seem very professional. Everyone was very nice and the place is clean, modern albeit small. However, if I am there to see the dentist, I would like to see the dentist. read more

I am so happy with my experience with Dr. Chesler! I was looking for a dentist with expertise with cosmetic bonding. I happen to be a dental hygienist, working for over 25 years in Beverly Hills, and I see many dentist's cosmetic restorative work. Many like to use porcelain veneers although you have to take away much of the tooth structure. When there are minor defects to the tooth, bonding with composite works well...with the right dentist. The use of composite especially on front teeth is very challenging to most dentists. It takes patience, time and a high level of skill. The dentist truly needs to be an artist to match the teeth perfectly. My friend and colleague recommended Dr. Chesler. I live in Los Angeles and decided to drive to San Diego county to redo the discolored composite that had been placed on my front tooth years prior. The picture below speaks for itself. I could not be happier with this dental office. I was in a bad mood this morning going into my appointment, and seriously walked out 200 times happier because Lisa the hygienist is hilarious and just one of the nicest people ever (that's on top of being very knowledgeable on dentistry in general, and gentle with her cleanings and X-rays). Dr. Chesler has provided so much useful advice and many very useful explanations about issues I've had for years that other dentists have not been able to provide any guidance on. I'm also realizing now that if I would have found Dr. Chesler earlier I would have saved thousands of dollars in unnecessary dental costs. My husband has also recently started seeing her and she has provided very useful advice for a couple of his issues as well, where other dentists have been stumped. On top of all of this, their office is adorable and very clean, they give you a free drink when you leave, and today they had a whole spread of treats for Mother's Day that ended up being my breakfast on a rushed morning. This was my third time to this dental office and I've always had a positive experience. Unfortunately my visit from 09/14/18 was extremely unpleasant! My main problem was from the unprofessional customer service from Andrea. There were problems getting an appoint confirmed earlier that week, but a 12pm appointment was finally set for the date above. That morning I called and confirmed my 12pm appointment with Andrea. Then I receive a call at 11:10 with her stating she made a mistake and my appointment was actually at 11am. She asked if I could come right away and I said it would take around 10 minutes. With traffic it took 20 minutes, so 11:30 arrival. With all of this happening, I received a rushed cleaning, as I wasn't given a full appointment. My primary concern was small stains that have been removed here in the past. I asked if they were coming off and I was told the stains were gone. Everything felt very rushed and I wasn't even given a mirror to look at my teeth. I get in my car and look in the mirror to see my stains are still there. I called the office to mention my disappointment and she started being rude and making it seem this was my all my fault. I was also charged full price for service I felt was very incomplete. I was offered another appointment for the next week, but I already had to reschedule work twice the week of my appointment because of the problems confirming with the office. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else, very frustrating. read more
