I have nothing but great things to say about the care and treatment my wife received at Tranquil Shores. My wife was at the lowest point in her life, struggling with several issues and I didn't know how to help her. I found Tranquil Shoes and did my research. She went there somewhat reluctantly at first, but after a few days of adjustment she thrived for the rest of her time there. The staff was kind and understanding, and most importantly for her, she felt safe. Safe to share her struggles, and safe in her living arrangements. I can honestly say it changed her life and allowed us to be a family again and begin to heal. My friend J., who is military vet, used to have serious problem abusing drugs. We thought we lost him since he disappeared for many months. One day he came back as a brand new man - no shaking, no red nose, no swearing and crying, no accusing everybody in his bad luck. J. said he was in rehab and the rehab was Tranquil Shores. I have very mixed feelings and a very broken heart. They gave terrifying medical misinformation to my family and pocketed money for services not received . They helped me immensely with a very real trauma, taught me to trust , then broke that trust. Tens upon thousands of dollars and 6 months of intensive therapy of course I grew to care deeply about many of the staff and clients. I guess it was time for this eagle to fly- they very harshly and unapologetically screwed me in the end based upon fiction ( that I have since disproven with facts.) They will help you stabilize- but once they have the money they want- you are nothing - it never happened. To hell with you. Try that on with abandonment issues. They are great actors- the owner Chad Johnson seemed humble and kind. $60,000+ later and he couldn't be bothered to return a phone call, refund all of the money, or explain in writing why I was treated with such disdain. I feel slighted and misled. There is one glaring exception: Dr. Valerie Andersen is their saving grace. She was patient, strong, intuitive, brilliant and kind . Because of her I have a foundation on which to build a healthy happy life. They created a very educational program, if you utilize it just don't trust anyone but Dr. Val. They are slimy and self serving. read more

Tranquil Shores helped save my daughter's life. Her alcoholism had completely taken over and I did not where to turn. Tranquil Shores showed her how to move past her issues and move forward in life. As a business owner she had to keep in touch with her staff. Tranquil Shores executive program made it possible for her to have treatment while still running her company. I had struggled with addiction for several years and have tried several rehabilitation facilities. Most facilities I had attended treatment at were very nice, and others were similar to a horror story (Spencer Recovery). Tranquil Shores is an exceptional facility that has helped me to get my life back on track. The staff is incredible, the counselors are second to none, and the Owner/CEO Chad cares more about the well-being of the client than he does a profit. This is a center that walks the path of recovery with the client long after they leave treatment. There is an alumni group that meets several times a month as well as a new transitional living facility on the beach for clients that have successfully completed the program. I had an amazing counselor named Amanda T. who helped me to work through the shame that had plagued me for so long. EMDR Specialist Lisa G. worked with me to dig deep into the past and uncover traumatic events which may have cause me to turn to drugs and alcohol as a solution. Another unique part of the TS program was the role play therapy called "Experiential Therapy", in which the clients work together with a team of counselors to reenact different life situations. This was probably the most powerful treatment method I have seen and was very effective. The residential property is located right on the beach and has a pool, BBQ, and volleyball net. The two bedroom apartments are clean and comfortable. There are flat screen TV's in each unit and central air (important in the summer). We have a fun community event on Saturdays and have a great time working together as a community. I have been here at Tranquil Shores for 7 months and my life has changed drastically. The most amazing part of my life today is that I have been given hope and the confidence I need to continue the journey of recovery. I have let go of shame and guilt, depression has subsided, and anxiety is at a minimum. I have the tools necessary to handle life's "ups and downs". I was desperate for a solution and Tranquil Shores put me on the right path.
