Without going into too much detail, our girl had seemingly overnight developed intense dementia, extreme separation anxiety, and her arthritis had become worse. We were searching for at home euthanasia specialists in case we needed to help her get the help she may have needed, but we also weren't sure it was time. Finding Haven and Dr. Hill on Google is the best thing that's happened to us in a WHILE! One call to her and she explained that while she offers that service, she also specializes in senior dog care and can do a normal assessment or even develop a full hospice/palliative care program for her if we saw fit. She listened to our specific situation, repeated it back to us in her own words to help illustrate that she truly understood what we needed her help with and that she thought she'd be able to help, and my husband and I could finally sleep again. And now, thanks to Dr. Hill's recommendations, Chloe is sleeping through the night again too! I'm sure there will be hiccups along the way but after one session with her, we've learned cognitive training tools, a new people-food diet to help her, and the trick of putting yoga mats down for helping her not slide on our floors! Chloe is already doing better. Thank you, Kelly! I cannot share enough good things about your business for anyone having a senior dog!!

Unfortunately we had issues in receiving our loved one back and after talking with Dr. Hill in the issues we had, she was very rude and condescending with unfortunately has a negative effect on her as she is the owner. We spent a lot of money having our beloved pet using the aquamation process and what we received back was not at all promised. Dr. Hill is connected with Tranquil waters and I don't recommend them at all as they made promises to us which were not received. If I were you I would totally find another company.

Our fur baby, Panini, was nearing the end of his fight with…read morelymphoma and we made the decision to say goodbye to him at home, where he could be with us and our other kitty in his familiar surroundings. We reached out to Betsy and planned for her to come the afternoon the next day; immediately, on the phone, I was soothed by her calm, compassionate manner and knew Panini would be in good hands. The night before, the ER vet let us know Panini was declining faster; we went over to BluePearl in Waltham (which I also recommend) and texted Betsy if she could come in at her earliest. She responded promptly and said she could. With sick pets operating on a very fluid schedule, we really appreciated her accommodating us. I thank Betsy for walking us through the procedure and explaining the steps. She had an incredible bedside manner and gave us time to grieve. I'm not sure how she does it but I'm so glad and grateful for how kindly she treated both us and Panini during this time. We had a ton of questions before, during, and after, and she answered them all with patience. If you need someone to give the best for your pet and to treat them as if they were her own, please call Betsy.

Betsy is technically skillful but also extraordinarily compassionate, understanding, soft spoken and gentle toward both our beloved dogs and the family members present for our dogs' final moments, one on a familiar couch and one on the grass in the yard he so enjoyed. She clearly understands and feels the trauma we were feeling and made our pet' s passing as easy as possible. She assisted at every step, and stayed to help until all was done. We are very grateful to her for making these difficult steps less painful. We were so very lucky to find her. She is the best.

I first met Dr. Tippie about four years ago. My dog Gunner had just survived a serious surgery 2020…read more(back in Texas). My family was new to Portland and so worried for our sweet boy Gunner. We had an appointment with Dr. Tippie and to my surprise she had taken much time to read through Gunner's medical file. She was well prepared to meet our sweet boy and provide the best care possible. This means the absolute world to me. Fast forward to today, Dr. Tippie is still my favorite! She has my heart for all my days. I appreciate the way she cares for Gunner, and I'm sure other pets, and I appreciate the way she takes the time to understand and provide the best care as possible. Recently, I especially loved how she called us on a weekend to share with us the results of Gunner's blood work and this reconfirmed the best course of action for his pain management. Dr. Tippie - I appreciate you. I came to you four years ago scared my poor dog was going to die from cancer. But you took the time to understand what he went through, did the proper tests, provided the best care, and here he is today at the fine age of 13 living his best life, cancer free! We appreciate you!

The staff is very friendly and work with your schedule. I have never had a problem scheduling an appointment that fits my schedule, and unlike my personal doctor's office visits, they never leave me waiting long in the exam room. Dr. Mills is my primary, but have no problem with any of the docs at North Deering. They are friendly and get down on the floor with Max when they enter the room. They talk to me, but engage with Max, the real patient. They take time to explain if anything is wrong, weigh out options and provide possible solutions. I never feel played or misled. They are true blue in my book.

I have been going to this vet clinic for months. I will never go back there again. If this was…read morethe only vet clinic in the state of Maine, I would drive to New Hamshire. I brought my dog in to have a vaccination shot. I asked if I could also speak to the vet for approximately 5 minutes because I had a question about my dogs' behavior. I was the only one in the place. I was told that no, I was just here for a vaccination and would have to make a separate appointment if I wanted to speak to the vet. When we were back in the room, I again asked if I could have 5 minutes of the vet's time for a basic question about my dog's behavior. Again, I was told that I was here for the vaccination and not an appointment with the vet. I thought that if I had an appointment at the vet clinic, I would not need a separate appointment to speak with the vet. Apparently so. Granted by this time I was pretty disgusted with the whole situation. Made a comment that "it's not rocket science" (which that comment was put in my dog's medical record). Finally, I just told them to give my dog the vaccine. Now, my dog has had multiple vaccines without even so much as a whimper or a flinch. Well today, my dog flinched. He even urinated on the table which he has never done previously when receiving a vaccine. I promptly requested that all my dog's medical records be emailed to me because I would not be returning to this clinic. The email prefaced that they had inactivated my account, and I should find a clinic that can better suit my needs. Hmmmm, my needs were to speak to a vet when I was present at the vet clinic. After relaying this experience to a coworker, she stated that she had gone there ONCE and it was a horrific experience. I was told that their business practice has drastically declined in the recent years. I am witness to that.
