I left home crying with my ends burned, frizzled and patches of ashy gray hair. I should've known that hair stylist (daughter of the owner) did not look enthusiastic about her job, if u don't like ur job u shouldn't be there! I went in for highlights and she did a beautiful job, I absolutely love my hair! I've been back twice! I always get anxiety when trying to describe what I want done, but I can really tell she's experienced and knows what she's doing because she knew exactly what I wanted and explained it perfectly. I wanted to break up my overly processed blonde to make it look a bit more blended and natural and that's exactly what I got. I have been going to Tranquility Salon and Spa for about 10 years now and I will never go anywhere else. I have tried out a couple of the girls there and loved them, but then my sister Karen started working there and of course I had to switch over to her. I am so glad she does my hair though, because she is absolutely amazing at what she does. Not only does she stay up to date on the latest hair trends, but she is so passionate about what she does and it totally shows through in her work! And I am not just saying all this, because she is my sister. I work at Barry's Bootcamp in Sherman Oaks and get compliments on my hair color and cut literally every single day. I tell people that my sister does my hair at a salon in Valencia that is about 25 minutes away. Every time I expect them to say that it's too far for them to drive just to get their hair done, but instead they always tell me that they would totally make the drive because they want their hair to look as good as mine. The BEST thing about Karen is her hair cuts. When you tell her you don't want any length cut off really, but need a trim, she does just that! She WON'T chop off your hair. The second best thing about my sister is that her coloring skills are better than any celebrity hairstylist out there. she truly knows how to combine different colors to create the most unique combinations. So, I always see Laura for my haircuts, but since I lost my job, I haven't been able to see her as often as I would like. I received an email for 50% off of a haircut for last Sunday (get on theit email list friends), so I called in to take advantage of that. Laura was not available for a cut, so I saw Amy. When I see different stylists, I am a little nervous because I have curly hair, but I trust that Laura wouldn't hire a terrible stylist. I was really pleased with Amy. She was really nice and friendly, and gave me a great cut. It's nice to have back-ups when you can't see your regular stylist. read more

I have never recommended any other hair salon or nail salon as many times as i have with Tranquility. I am obsessed with Sandi and her nail work. The first time i went and got a pedicure it was with Harmony, she was fantastic. I went in there knowing she was great with artwork but i had no clue of what i wanted and she suggested gold cheetah, it looked picture perfect and not to mention it lasted for 3 months! I play soccer 5 days a week and any pedicure that can last me that long is worth every penny. I booked my next appointment with Sandi, and i have never had such a great time getting a pedicure. I swear by Sandi and her work, not only do i get great pedicures as well as manicures, she also teaches me about the certain products and informs me on why her products do last so long. Every single time I get work done by Sandi i get TONS of compliments, because literally she can do anything. I come in sometimes with the most difficult artwork and she always completes them perfectly and they will last you at least 3 months without chipping. Tranquility is honestly the most well rounded, professional, and perfected salon i have ever seen and i think their business will continue to do great with the work that they produce. I can now upgrade my previous rating of 4 stars to 5 stars. The only reason I gave it 4 stars last time is that I had to go home and run a flat iron through my hair. I wait forever between cuts and that is why it took me so long to go back to J-Me. I finally saw J-Me a few weeks ago after waiting over a year to get my hair cut. She gave me another fabulous cut and this time we tried doing under turned curls. Doing the under turned curls gave the layers definition and gave my hair volume and bounce without giving me Dolly Parton hair. J-Me still had to run a flat iron through the front of my hair, but that was no fault of J-Me's. My bangs do weird things that only a flat iron can fix. My hair looked so good when I left the salon and I didn't have to run a flat iron through it when I got home. I couldn't stop doing the head flip when I left the salon because I loved the way my hair bounced around. read more

I have been going here for years for my cut and color. Jme Hinosa is a master of color for brunettes and cuts my hair better than anyone ever has! Everyone at the salon is very nice. The only drawback, and it is a small one, is that the shampoo sinks are not padded and really hard on your neck, so just ask them to put a towel under your neck. read more
