They are the evil of the two lessers. If you can catch a train from where you live, they are slightly cheaper. And if they run on schedule, about 30 minutes faster than the Raritan line. You also go direct to PABT, without having to switch over at Newark Penn. But as the number of commuters has grown (and their fares have grown) the service is very unpredictable. I waited an hour this morning in 25 degree weather to get on a bus. I arrived at 6:02am, got on a bus at 7:05. Apparently some buses were cancelled... and this is becoming a theme for them. Today the driver announced on the loudspeaker that if we knew anybody who was a qualified driver to please have them call Transbridge as they have had drivers leave. We were also informed they have several cameras and microphones on the bus and we should all be careful to not speak or show a credit card number or passport number. While a reasonable precaution... the passport thing doesn't make me feel good about riding with Transbridge. read more

Price: $25 one way to NYC from Easton. Cons: It's freezing- bundle up because the cold air is on even if you shut off your personal air above you. U do hear a lot of squeaking on the bus from what sounds like plastics shifting to and fro. Pros: Plenty of storage space under the bus and some over head. Seats do tilt back a tad and you get a seatbelt in your seat. Bus is on time and is clean. Drive is fairly smooth with little bumps. Just used Trans-Bridge from the William Penn Park and Ride into NYC Port Authority and back. Busses were on time both ways and drivers were both friendly and courteous. 10/10 recommend. read more

You need to have some sort of signage that lets your customers know when you cancel busses. When I call to ask if a bus is cancelled, I get attitude and the gentleman says "we post it on Twitter". I'm a millennial and wouldn't even know to check Twitter that's ridiculous. read more

How many ways do you try to RIP-OFF customers? On the Southside, they do not give any change for bus tickets. If that is their policy I would think you would made it a more even fare - not something like $132.12. At the LVI airport, I did not plan to walk all the way into the actual airport terminal to buy tickets, just thought they would make it super convenient like it was at Industrial Drive. I am young I do not mind the walk, but I frequently travel with people who have difficulties walking. Not customer friendly! They did allow my to buy the ticket from the bus driver at about $10.00 more per ticket! So disappointed that buying tickets on-line was not an option! I got spoiled using public transportation in other areas that make it convenient and affordable. Trans bridge you can do better serving the people. read more

I've been taking Trans-Bridge buses round-trip from Quakertown to PABT two or three times a year for over four years. As a rule, the buses arrived and departed on time, and the drivers were very professional and courteous, even friendly. On my return trip from NYC in early March, the drop-off was on 4th St. in Quakertown rather than on W. Broad Street, which had been the pick-up and drop-off location for as long as I'd been making regular trips to and from NYC. The driver said the location had been changed that day. I take responsibility for not checking to see if that was the new and permanent pick-up and drop-off location. I planned to get the 8:00 am bus from Quakertown to PABT on Tuesday, June 12. I hoped to find the ticket agent open by 8:00 am, but it was not. I therefore knew I'd have to pay the driver and pay more since I didn't have a ticket. That didn't happen though, since the bus stopped at 4th St. Not wanting to take the later bus that wouldn't get into the city until 7:00 pm, we decided to try and find the Allentown terminal. This resulted in getting lost for quite some time, and ultimately burning out the transmission in our car. It had had a slow leak; apparently it was more serious than we knew. After dealing with all that on Tuesday, I still wanted to try to get to NYC on Wednesday, June 13. I had to get there for a reason, and at that point it was a matter of principle. The ticket agent didn't open any earlier, and needless to say, I wasn't able to stop and get a ticket the day before since we needed a ride home. I got to the 4th St. stop by 7:45 am. Having only a $100 bill with which to pay the fare, knowing that might be an issue, I tried to get change for the $100 at several places, without success. I had hoped the driver would either be able to make change for the $35 one-way fare, or might be willing to work something out. When the bus arrived and the doors opened, I immediately, and apologetically, told the driver I only had a $100 bill and asked if he'd be able to make change. He replied that he could not, it was his first stop, and became irritated and rude. I asked him if I could get on the bus and pay him at PABT once I broke the $100. He said no, called a supervisor, who not only also said no, but said that if I decided to skip out once I got to PABT, they wouldn't get their fare at all. I said they could hold my purse until I came back with the money. The supervisor said no, and the driver became more irritated and rude, now telling me to get off the bus (I was on the first step) because he was already running behind. I pleaded with him at that point, saying I had no other way to get to NYC that day and couldn't take the later bus. Out of sheer desperation, I offered him the $100 bill and told him to keep it. No change, just keep it. He said no, but again radioed the supervisor, who also said no. He again told me to get off the bus as he was running behind. I was in tears by then, and begged him to give me five mins and let my partner go try and break the $100 bill again. He said no, told me he was going to call the police and radioed his supervisor again, who instructed him to call 911. Not wanting to have the police show up, which would make me feel even more like a criminal than the driver and supervisor had already, I stepped back off the first step, at which point the driver closed the doors and drove off. This entire scenario took place in approximately 10 mins, maybe less than that. I mention that only because I ultimately did get to NYC on Wednesday afternoon via expensive car rental, and got the 1:00 pm bus from PABT to Quakertown today, June 15. It was scheduled to arrive at 4:00 pm, and in the four years I've been doing this, has almost always gotten into Quakertown on time. Today, however, there was an accident in Somerville, NJ, which caused a delay of approximately 40 mins or so. The bus was a Klein bus, not a Trans-Bridge bus, and those of us getting off at stops after Doylestown had to transfer into a van. The bus didn't arrive at the Quakertown stop until approximately 5:10 pm. I have to wonder who will get the blame for the hour plus delay today, and why the Dublin and Quakertown passengers had to be transported in a van rather than the bus. I don't expect to make any trips to NYC in the future, but if I were to do so, I would never even consider taking a Trans-Bridge bus. And I never thought I'd have reason to say that, or to write a review like this. read more

Our bus started SMOKING 2 stops before our destination and we ended up pulled over on the side of the road with 7 cop cars. I was told the new bus would take "a whiiiiiile" as it was the last bus out on Friday night but I could take an Uber and would get reimbursed as there were only 2 of us left. No one ever called and when I emailed, customer support told me that they were not responsible for any of it. Not worth the new, increased $40 one-way price. read more

I have had some horror stories on this bus line and I haven't used it long. Its always something when I come to Bethlehem on this bus line. If the bus drivers are keeping to schedule and telling you to wait until the next bus, its the people themselves. A bus I was riding had no air condition and instead of just popping the top to let air flow. The driver pulled over and had the entire bus on the side of the highway to wait for another bus. On my last visit there was someone smoking weed on the bus and the driver never pulled them off the bus. But yet they want to tell us that we can't eat or drink on the bus. NJ Transit is so much better and more reliable. read more

Took my second round trip Trans-Bridge bus from Bethlehem LVIP to NYC PABT of the year back in September. Left at 7:00am, the bus was on schedule. We should've been at the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 9:55am and were about 8 minutes ahead of schedule. The bus return was to leave at 9:45pm and arrive back in Bethlehem at 11:40pm. Again, got back around 10 minutes early. The buses were very clean, the drivers were courteous. I wouldn't think twice about taking Trans-Bridge again, it was a enjoyable way of transportation to and from the city. No problems at all. Highly recommend. read more

I purchased a round trip ticket from port authority to sands Casino. They would not let me ride the bus because it was more the 48 hours later. I don't understand why it matters. The bus is also very tight and Seats are uncomfortable. read more

These guys I previously rode on in 1999 but man I'll say this time was even sweeter than the last. Their equipment is pretty new & well looking & seems to me very well maintained & their coaches are always kept pretty much not too old & such I used them to get to Sands Bethlehem & back & these guys do their job the best & the interiors are also very good & got great seats & headrests in them so you don't need a pillow. read more

Awful reliability. There isn't a week that goes by where a bus, or two, simply doesn't show up. I signed up for their alert system, never got an alert about anything, ever. I had to have her stop the bus to get on. Then she was very rude to me. I think it is unethical for a bus driver to leave early and then fuss at the riders. Thank God I was early to catch the bus, as always. But I can't but wonder, how many people were left behind this morning, due to her early departure. Now, I can deal with other issues that I have endured with riding Transbride buses, such as buses breaking down, the A/C going out, the transmission going out, bathrooms locking themselves, a window flapping open all the way down the road, the window leaking water on my dress, and the gates being changed around. However, I do not expect to be treated poorly as a paying customer by the bus driver herself. I hope you will address the issue at hand. read more

It will be so hard to keep expletives out of this review, but I'll try: Unfortunately, I have to use this bus line rather frequently when I leave the city to visit family. Great route! Terrible, terrible service! Some days I would honestly rather ride a unicycle the whole distance because that would be a more reliable form of transportation than Transbridge. The buses are on time about 10% of the time. TWICE my bus back to NYC has been canceled without notification. I had to INFER from their TWEETS that perhaps the schedule was not running as posted. Plus, whoever is working in the Transbridge office has apparently never seen train timetables in his or her life. For a bus this expensive, it should run on time, I should be able to buy my tickets online, and the staff should be literate. Whenever I can bribe people to pick me up at the NJ Transit train station instead of at the random corners of the earth designated as Transbridge bus stations, you better believe I will! read more

I purchased a child ticket so that my son can have and be in his own seat next to his grandma. Once reaching to a particular stop the driver said that my son had to give up his seat and sit on grandma's lap to give the seat to someone else. Mind you my son was sleeping! He is also not a little baby to be comfortable sitting in grandma's lap. Grandma stood her ground and did not move my son. What's the point in buying a ticket if you're then asked and/or expected to give up your seat?! The issue was not pressed, thankfully but am also not thrilled that it was even suggested. read more

I would like to comment on our bus rides with Mark Obert. We do rides with Teds Tours and we usually get Mark to drive the bus. Let me tell you I have never felt any safer. He is an excellent driver. So don't use this for a flight because they can't tell time. We were supposed to be picked up 7:55, I called to see how long the delay would be in case I should drive instead. Bus got to WIlliam Penn at 8:17. I called at 8:05 and the girl told me they are running 10 late and are at route 512 so will be 10 min. I said he's already 10 late- so they can't seem to manage the way clocks work. I should have driven, never again unless I have time to burn. Update, I just made my flight. Consistent failure to match rider volume with adequate buses. A (15 minute late) bus at the end of the Thanksgiving weekend arrived already at seated capacity, with standing room only. Currently standing on the highway, since they could not let us know whether the NEXT bus might have seats. This is the second time I've had to stand in recent months, and my 62 year old mother also has had to do so twice. Shameful at any price, but certainly when paying nearly $50 for a round trip between Port Authority and Easton. read more

Rarely do I give businesses a poor review, but this one is so bad that people need to know about it. The worst bus service I have ever used. I take this from Bethlehem to NY a few times a month, and it's a 50/50 shot the bus will be on time and/or broken down. The only reason they stay afloat is because they have the monopoly on public transit between the Lehigh Valley and the city (and their fares reflect it). They cram as many people on a bus as physically possible and if you're not one of the first 2 pickup spots, good luck getting a seat. You'll be standing for the entire 2+ hour trip with people stepping over you to use the bathroom. It's honestly a safety hazard, and I don't know if/how it's even legal. Let's not forget, you need to wait in line at a ticket counter to purchase a ticket, then carry around the pass hoping you don't lose it. It's 2015... Why can't I buy a ticket online and use my phone as a pass like every other bus service or airline? Get with the times. I left the same review on Facebook, and they now seem to have disabled reviews on their page because of all the bad publicity it was creating. Good thing yelp doesn't have that option. read more

My girlfriend and I have used Trans-Bridge a few different times from NYC to Clinton, NJ and back, and for the most part it has been a success. Unfortunately our trip back from Clinton this Easter was a disaster. We tried to catch the 8:15 PM bus back to NYC, and when it arrived 20 minutes late, it was already standing room only. Along with that, we were in a line of more than 70 people, some of whom had been waiting for an hour already. Apparently even during holidays Trans-Bridge runs the same bus schedule, and it is not guaranteed you will have a seat on the bus. They didn't run any additional buses, and the drivers provided no assistance or guidance on the capacity of future buses. We continued to wait for the 8:50 bus, but it never showed up. Apparently it was beyond capacity, and the driver skipped the stop. Keep in mind, in Trans-Bridge's mind, capacity doesn't mean having a seat, it just means there being room on the bus to stand with your luggage. They were cramming people in, and the 8:15 driver even told us to find another way back to the city. Since the 8:50 bus didn't show, we had to wait until 10:35 for a bus. This bus didn't show up until 10:50, and we waited until 11 before we actually departed. The bus back was fine, and everyone was able to get a seat, but instead of arriving at 9:30 like we originally planned, it wasn't until 12:30. I realize these things happen some times, but I wanted to let Trans-Bridge know about the issue. I had a very good conversation with their transportation manager, and he expressed concern. We talked about improvements, and he said he would refund us for our trip. unfortunately it is now June, and after 2 months of trying to get a hold of him, nothing has ever come of our initial call. Clearly if you are trying to find a stress-free travel option during peak travel days, there are far better options than Trans-Bridge. It has become clear to me, that the customer is not nearly as important to them as selling tickets, no matter whether or not they can actually provide the transportation. There are more dependable options, and I would highly recommend those in the future. read more

The lady at the window was knowledgeable and helpful even at 4:30 in the morning. All and all it was a great experience. I would prefer to give ZERO stars. I booked Transbridge to deliver my guests from the hotel, to the church, from the church to the reception hall and finally a trip back to the hotel at the end of the night. First off, the drive missed our church. Guests tried to explain and he wouldn't listen so they arrived late. WORST of all, at the end of the night they completely forgot to bring me and husband back to the hotel. THEY FORGOT THE BRIDGE AND GROOM. AND they refused to return. So we had to get a cab. LASTLY- they didn't even notice a guest fell asleep on the bus and he was locked in their bus at the depot... NEVER EVER BOOK TRANSBRIDGE TO SHUTTLE FOR AN EVENT. I wish this was a joke but it's not. Very unreliable service for regular commuters to and from the city. In a short span of time using these buses my regular bus has been frequently cancelled without warning, leaving us to have to wait around an extra hour for the next bus. Myself as well as other commuters have complained about the constant cancellations but haven't heard anything back, as they don't seem to really care about customer service. In addition to the constant cancellations, the buses aren't in the greatest condition. A couple of the cancelled trips have been caused by broken down buses, I've had several trips this summer where the AC was broken, and water leaks from the overhead bins all the time. (You can see they tried to stuff these spots with paper towels, but they keep on leaking.) Very frustrating considering the prices you pay. read more

Holy crap this bus is even more ghetto than the china town bus! I'm on it right now and completely livid. I took the round trip from NYC port authority to sands Bethlehem casino. I'm not a gambler so the $45 voucher for slots didn't appeal to me but it was a close location to the family I was going to see. The ride to Bethlehem in the morning (took the 11 am bus,) was easy and incident free. We had wifi (spotty but there,) and outlets that worked, and even though we had to make an extra stop in Clinton (NJ?) we still made it fifteen minutes before our scheduled arrival time. That driver was great so I felt confident taking the bus back. What a friggin mistake! First of all, all the casino "regulars" were there and they all had their special line treatment, whatever not a big deal. Then the driver is chatting away with the ticket girl saying he's "not even in a hurry to leave because we're going to have to wait in South Bethlehem." He also made an announcement that we wouldn't get into the city until midnight because it was a "local" bus...the website says 11:15. Next little fun incident, another bus has broken down so we have to collect all their passengers and those poor unfortunate souls have to stand until we get to some Clinton stop.. I also heard the driver ask a person which terminal he needed to be dropped off at in Newark airport. That had better be a joke because I didn't know this was a freaking taxi service. I am telling all my friends to stay the hell away from this company. And scolding my mother for even suggesting it to me what a joke. It's only been 40 minutes on this bus ride to hell and I'm afraid of what's coming next! read more

This company runs the tightest ship in the bus business. I have used their bus to travel from LVIP to NYC many times without a problem. The bus always leaves on time. Of course, arrival time depends on traffic. The bus drivers are professional. They consistently enforce the no-talking-on-mobile-phone policy, making the trip peaceful and relaxing. WiFi works well, as do the electric sockets on most buses. I would advise people to be wary of the NYC - Sand's bus routes. They are often filled with people who are going back and forth just for the free casino play, sometimes homeless, sometimes smelly. The Morning Call wrote several articles about this. But even when I am on a route that stops at the casino, the drivers remain professional and drive safely. read more

Went to NJ for a wedding and took a day trip into NYC. I didn't have a car so I found the schedule for the Trans-Bridge Line. The bus pick up time was 8:00 am. Around 8:30 one of the commuters called to see were the bus was. We were told it had a flat tire and was going to be a little late. Twenty minutes later someone called again. They said a new bus would be there in 10 minutes. Again, a call was made with the same answer. Every call we were told 10 minutes. By now 5 people left to drive in but I didn't have a car plus I spent $44 round trip on this ticket. Anyway at 9:40 a bus came. It never was the bus that "was coming". It was the scheduled 9:40 bus. The bus was very clean so I'll give it two stars. The trip back was on time but the bus driver told us we had to be quiet. The only person I was talking to was my friend sitting right next to me. My family in NJ was excited to see how our trip was because they said they might start going in to the city that way. I told them to stick to the train. read more

I do like the buses, they are clean, well equipped with charging stations etc, but very expensive. $43 for a round trip ticket and the commuter books don't last over a month, so if i don't have to go 4+ times that is not worth it either. What is mostly frustrating is that Transbrindge really has to solve their parking issue at Clinton park and ride in NJ. There is just not enough spaces after 6 am. Whenever i reached out to the company, they told me it is the Town of Clinton that wont let them expand, and i should take my complaint over to them. How do other people get to park? Every time i need to take the bus i get so stressed because someone has to take me there. I waited 40 + minutes many times with my car to see if a space opens up, had to drive back home and not get to work that day. I don't need to take the 6 am bus for an afternoon meeting, so i wont get there to secure parking. I am just surprised no-one complains about this part, and i have not found any solutions other than parking at Union Township which is now 15 more minutes added onto the already long commute. I always wonder how do people deal with this on a daily basis?? read more

I take this bus frequently from NYC to the Lehigh Valley. I would say I have been taking it once or twice a month for the past eight years or so. It's normally ok. It's no Bolt Bus, but it's ok. The reason I'm giving it one star is because of an apparent policy (which can't possibly be legal) of cramming the bus full of standing room only passengers. Once all the seats are full, they pack it tight with people standing and sitting in the aisle like a cattle truck. Children are crawling all over other passengers, people are grabbing others' hair to hold on when there's a bump in the road, and going to the bathroom is completely out of the question. It's unsafe and unhygienic. There is no way this kind of service is deserving of what they're charging ($43 round trip). Also, lol at the 3.5 star review because 15 one star reviews are hidden and don't count towards the rating. read more

My husband commuted on Trans-Bridge for 6 months, and I have used the service 3 to 4 times a year, mostly for medical appointments. Their service, schedules, cleanliness and comfort are all top notch. I would have given them 5 stars except for a recent incident. I had always purchased my next round trip ticket before taking the current trip, which is what I did in March, 2013. As it happened, I did not need to go into the city until November, 2013, so my March ticket had expired in September. I purchased a new ticket and sent in the old one to be refunded, since the attendant in Clinton said he could not refund or exchange tickets. To my amazement, I received a letter from Trans-Bridge saying that they would not refund the tickets, nor would they allow me to apply the value to new tickets. They stated that this had been their policy for 20 years. This seems completely unfair and unethical to me. They had the use of my money for 8 months without ever having to supply a seat. read more

Note: I left this review on the Clinton section as well. I've been taking this bus for over five years and I honestly can't remember the last time it left on time. I'm writing this review as the bus that I was supposed to take was 25 minutes late and overloaded (a common issue). The new bus that they sent has now been sitting here for an hour so that we can pick up passengers for a bus that's scheduled an hour after ours was supposed to leave. I guess I should be thankful to have a seat considering most of the time, you have to stand the entire ride back to the city (and still pay the absurdly expensive fare) because somehow they still haven't figured out how many people actually use the bus. read more

Taking a morning bus from New York to Allentown (~$25 one way) and was pleasantly surprised. I am used to the NJ transit bus line (decent but the fleet is showing its age) and have taken other buses of varying levels of cleanliness), so you never know what to expect. Yelping while driving? Not safe. Yelping while riding the bus using TransBridge's free wi-fi? Totally safe. And awesome in the most efficient, time saving way. Who doesn't like to work on the road? Yes, I am aware that I could be watching a movie or gchatting with pals, but the fun stuff is for when I arrive at my destination (which, thanks to TransBridge, is always on time). Thanks to the wi-fi, the comfy, quiet ride becomes the perfect place to ignore the fact that I am, in fact, on a bus and dig into to some much needed work. I wish I could give them five stars, but the ticket window staff is a little gruff and there have been a few mix ups at the gates. Other than that TransBridge is, well, awesome. read more

Transbridge bus to the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, the bus doesn't come to pick you up on time to go back to Nyc Port Authority and leaves you stranded there until they decide to come and get you. The Sands Casino itself is no big deal, Atlantic City is better to go to, but Las Vegas NV is the best ! All in all I cannot recommend either the amateurish Transbridge bus line or Sands Bethlehem unless you want to see it once and never return. read more

After reading some of the reviews, I might be giving the bus lines more credit than they deserve, but I really like the service and my wife & I get a few $ discount as a Senior Citizen. I used to like leaving out of the main terminal on Industrial Drive even though parking was sometimes tough. The terminal at the LVIA is great to park & get on the bus. Might be a little cold in the winter! Always get my tickets & parking pass in advance, and the old terminal is easy to park and make the purchase rather than the long walk at LVIA that I have yet to ever do. Each Bus is always clean, has seat belts, allows me to charge my phone or computer, and the drivers seem professional and friendly. Free internet. Bus usually departs right on time so don't be late they are not going to stop! PABT is under renovation so gates might get moved around, but my wife & I have it pretty much figured out where to go and where to find the rest room on arrival. For two people going into the city it beats driving with the tolls and parking expense. Gone twice in the last weeks & bus was a great deal. Easy to catch a cab at the PABT to Hotel where we were going. read more
