Transcend's coffee is the OG!! Good quality with delicious beans. I haven't been back in Edmonton for awhile but this looks like a new location. Parking might be a little tough but its a nice, quiet space. The staff is also really friendly!

I eat out daily. A perfect dry cappuccino and Transcend has a unique flavour, few roasters are able to achieve.

Only good vibes for this place! Its nestled near the Millcreek ravine so it's close to a lot of trails; it'd be a good place to get a coffee then go for a nice walk. Once you walk in, you're greeted by friendly faces. There's Transcend Coffee on the right, a little meat market at the far center and Biera (brewery/bar/lounge) on the left. Cute wooden tables and bar like seating scattered throughout the middle. I got the London Fog milkshake which was so delectable especially if you're a fan of London Fog tea. It wasn't too rich and they use Pinocchio ice cream which was a nice local touch. My friend highly recommends the coffee milkshake, best she's ever had and it comes with two espresso shots! I'll definitely be trying the brewery and meat market when I'm in the neighbourhood again! Also would be a fun day date on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

We started our day @ Transcend before a planned afternoon of shopping & lunch on Whyte Ave in Edmonton. The coffee & cookies were the best I've had recently. Transcend is Situated in the heart of a sweet little market known as 'RITCHIE MARKET'. I had heard about this gem, today was my first visit ! I picked something up from ACME, and appreciated the super cool, passionate barista that assisted us. He made the 20minute drive for coffee worth the wait. Ok the coffee vibes and funky market are the real reason to go, but EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE HELPS, and this dude was awesome! Transcend is a great destination spot. GO!

This morning I wanted to work somewhere that I wouldn't be bothered, but I needed wifi and caffeine. I love the other transcend locations so decided to give Rickie Market a try. This area is super cute. All the businesses connected to this building are so cool and promote local which I love. I also love wifi without a password and a damn fine cup of coffee. This place roasts their own coffee and the staff happily tell you all about it! I was served by a lovely man who also told me they make their own syrups for coffee, so no chance of a low sugar vanilla latte, ok! There is street parking out front and a few spots in the alley. They have a few outdoor seats and loads of seating indoors, including a laptop bar with ample power supply! The bar next door is separated by a glass wall so you can see right in and the ACME meat market is right there. Everything is very open, spacious and gives off a chic market vibe. It's kinda cool that the butchers is in the same room. I know that's not for everyone but I found it fascinating.

Transcend is truly the leader of the Edmonton coffee scene. They've perfected the art of roasting beans, and the beans are direct-trade, ethically sourced. While I appreciate different flavours of roasts, Transcend is definitely my favorite, and I love that the beans are locally roasted. If you think about it, over the past 10 years, we have all watched Transcend actually transcend the YEG coffee scene. And seeing this new Ritchie location is the equivalent of watching a kid grow up, find their way, and eventually become an adult with their own beautiful life. The beauty of it, the immensity of it, the success. All the struggles that lead to this moment, to this amazing location. It is truly worth checking out just out of pure respect for what Transcend has accomplished. You'll find all your standard espresso based drinks here with options of soy and almond milk, a variety of coffee roasts to choose from, delicious baked treats, and surprisingly... MILKSHAKES! Made with Pinocchio gelato (locally made in Edmonton for about 30 years I think). I'll be back for a milkshake for sure. They also sell their beans, and an array of high end equipment for home brewers. Parking was no problem, and there was plenty of seating available inside, and a couple outdoor tables (hopefully more will be added). So go check out the best coffee roaster in Edmonton, in the beautiful Ritchie Market complex.

The Ritchie area is the perfect quaint area. Transcend has such a great atmosphere and excellently brewed beverages. My friend and I came on a cold winter day so I walked in expecting to order a hot drink to warm me up. However, the second I saw they had a chai latte milkshake, it was GAME OVER. I got a cold beverage on a cold day and I was NOT disappointed. It was creamy and delicious and was so happy with my decision. There is ample space for seating and a good amount of natural light through the windows. I would definitely recommend coming here for the environment. Truly in love! :)

I think I might become a regular! Great location in the Ritchie neighbourhood. Transcend is attached to Blin Brewery, ACME meat market and a bicycle shop. It is super spacious with a nice open concept. I had a latte and chocolate croissant. They have a few pastry options which is always needed with a coffee! Coffee wise, you cannot go wrong. There are also patio spots outside and bicycle racks around the corner. The neighbourhood is definitely becoming hipper all the time!

Poul and his team do a great job. Even though they have expanded to more locations the quality has remained hi.

The coffee shop's location is on the second floor of the building (right next door to the restaurant Sugarbowl), and offers an awesome view of the North Saskatchewan river, downtown / Jasper Ave on one side, and the Garneau neighborhood on the other side. The place is filled with antique furniture, wooden floors, but also a touch of modern style as well. With the decor, the smell of coffee, along with the presence of coffee drinkers and enthusiasts, Kaffa is very inviting and a great place to drink coffee, eat and be with someone (or by oneself). Kaffa has its own coffee roasting machine on location - so I hope you can imagine the smell of coffee is very much present here at Kaffa!!! It's very nice. Kaffa, both a derivative and coffee region in Ethiopia, also sells their roasted coffee, and tea as well. Ethiopia, as well as a few Central American countries, provide beans for the roastery. Kaffa also offers art space for local artists, but music concerts as well. Anyone with questions or inquiries can contact Kaffa (their email address is on their website, kaffaroasterystudio.com).

This may soon become the most popular of their locations. I've visited all but the Glenora location and they all offer the same superb Columbian coffee. It's is simply the best coffee in the city and consistently so. There is no bitterness whatsoever. I've previously bought a bag of coffee for home. I can't make it taste as good as the cafe does but it definitely improves my home brew. There's a power outlet at each table for those who like to bring their work to the coffee house. It's even above each table which is handy. Interestingly that's where jukeboxes used to be located in 60s style cafes. The breakfast bagel is delicious but so messy. The yolk is so runny that it will either shoot out and hit your guest or drip all over your fingers. It's like this at all of their locations. Maybe some people like it this way but it's too messy for me and I don't like sticky fingers. One star off for sticky finger inducing bagels. Otherwise this is a top choice.

Good thing there's good signage. I honestly would of never seen this place bc I meant to go to home depot but turned too early. I was lost but luckily I was enticed by this place!!! It was worth the impromptu visit. In the back. They have the option to smell the aromas of each of the beans they sell. This was a nice touch and reminds me of coffee plantation tours I've been on. Once inside I was greeted by a sweet nice man who gave me exceptional service. He started off with the most popular roasts...and with over 10 varieties I was overwhelmed. Luckily he took me to the back to smell the coffee beans each on their own. Pretty sweet deal to have beans freshly roasted the day of. The brew was outstanding and the aroma tantalizing on the way home. I'm so excited to try different blends. On this particular visit I had the Ethiopian and Brazilian blends bc they appealed to me the most. Definitely try this local roaster out!!!

That said there is lots of parking and good access overall so perhaps the location does work. I believe that they only sell fresh roasted coffee beans and two varieties of a coffee spread. I'm saving the coffee spread for Christmas gifts so I can't tell you if I like them, but I'm sure that I will. Pricing is very simple; everything is $10.00. Bags of coffee are $10.00 and a small jar of coffee spread is $10.00. That's it. To help me choose my coffee the lady took me into the roasting room where I could smell some big containers of the actual beans. I'm looking forward to trying these beans out. They sell several varieties of the coffee beans plus one house blend. Strangely I don't think that they sell brewed coffee, just the beans. So if you feel like cruising behind big box hardware stores keep your eyes open for NXT. It might have been what you were looking for in the first place.
