I hate you, Transfort. I hate you so much. I love Fort Collins otherwise, but you make it almost unbearable to live here if you don't drive. You completely ruined one of the busses I'd usually take home in the morning after my work shift is done. The FLEX used to be there at the South Transit Center to take me home when I got there on the 16. Now, the FLEX almost never runs, with HOURS AND HOURS between each arrival at the station. This bus system is extremely unreliable and honestly horrible. I'm so tired of the bus either not showing up at all, being late, or just simply not even stopping at the stop and just driving past. Every time I attempt to use the bus rather than walking the entire way across campus (what this system is meant to help students with) I end up being late because I have to walk anyways. It's honestly ridiculous how the school is going to spend thousands of dollars on dumb shit like family weekend but they can't put money towards better wages for their workers to influence people to actually want to work for them or more buses so this shit isn't continuing to fuck students over. read more

I understand the reasons for identification when it comes to riding privilages, i also understand that new rules are created as the transportation in fort collins grows, i also understand that drivers feel the need to do their job and enforce the rules thwy are told to follow. What i dont understand is why multiple driver feel the need to harrass children under the age of 13 when they dont have school IDs they can present to the driver. Children under the age of 13 usually dont get IDs until they are in middle school and even then it can take 1-3 weeks to get an ID registered to them. The fact that this is a new rule most kids who ride the bus or even start riding for the first time dont know this, so when drivers stop them and try to deny them passage on the bus because of a lack of ID they dont have, and kids are obviously confused or taken a back yhe driver doesng need to continue to harrass them and give them warnings about how they wont lwt them on ne t time they see them And they definetly dont need to TOUCH these underage kids as a result to try and stop them from getting on a bus they have a right to get on. As a witness to this incident with random children and a child of my own this is starting to become an inferiating issue that needs to be attended to IMMEDIATLY Ive been riding trans fort since i was 16, i am now 26 and Ive had maybe 3 negative experiences in the past that were dealt with and grown feom and i absolutely appreciate the service trans fort provides to our city, I hope this will shed some light on a very serious and concerning issue so we can continue to expand and grow our public trans fort. They don't mind inconveniencing you but god forbid you turn around after the bus is 5 minutes late to use their texting service, the bus driver will probably blow right by you like the piece of excrement he and every other faculty member truly is. Transfort does what they can, but I am so disappointed in what they have available to year-round residents. People need to get to work all days of the week, year-round, not just when students are here. Some of the routes are closed when the university is not in session. Many routes are closed on Sunday and there is almost no service after 6pm. I would have given them only one star, but they get the second star for getting in on FLEX, which takes people from Ft Collins to Longmont and allows for link-up with RTD in the Denver Metro area. Finally a cheap way to get to Denver without a car. Transfort should up their weekend and late-night service. The cabs here are too expensive, and the wait is too long. We need a better public transportation system. read more

A nice little transit center located in a rehabbed freight depot, you can watch the BNSF trains rumble down the middle of Mason St This review is really about the FoxTrot service to/from Loveland (though the connections to Olde Town FC I must add are good and reliable): This bus was always half to almost full, reminding me again of my old Denver days that in CO buses aren't just for inner-city jags, they're great for getting from town-to-town as well. (cf the Boulder-Denver service.) This is Larimer County (and thus not RTD) but for being a relatively small transit system it definitely is run in a big city professional manner. read more

Absolutely terrible, Greeley has a better bus system then Fort Collins. The flex route is almost always late, all they do is shrug when you let them know that you are disabled and rely on the busses. The flex route is our only way for inter city travel and it needs to come more than once an hour and the staff needs to learn better customer service skills its ridiculous how bad transfort has gotten, completely unreliable. read more

Totally dropped the ball during the COVID-19 pandemic. Buses are clearly an essential service but Transfort decided to kill the FLEX for the last couple months. I know several people who needlessly lost their jobs because Transfort was so greedy and selfish. They could get stimulus money to deal with their expenses but instead they terminated an essential service. Now they've returned the FLEX for 3 trips a day. They don't even stop at the Loveland food bank anymore which was the transfer station. They claim it's for social distancing reasons but they're socially distancing from the loveland hub in general... so do they think Loveland citizens are especially diseased? The social distancing guidelines are 6 feet.. not 6 stops. I don't know what greedy criminals run this joint but they are not among the companies that stepped up during the pandemic. They are a company that took unnecessary steps that increased the unemployment numbers and negatively affected the lives of many. I can't even find anything saying they don't stop at loveland anymore. The maps haven't changed, the stop list hasn't changed, the times haven't changed.... so someone shows up to the first time, they miss the bus because they're at the wrong stop. If they then call and figure it out they then have to walk and wait 5 hours for the next stop and then 5 hours to get back. So as the first run is after 8 you would be in for a 12 hour trip. Almost like they only have these 3 run times for pr reasons. Like they want the route to be almost entirely unusable so no one bothers with it. do not buy greyhound tickets for this stop!! Endless headache. Greyhound still lists this location as their Fort Collins stop, but upon arrival the two women behind the desk say greyhound can't stop here anymore as their lease has expired since April. I called to check in with greyhound, got hung up on twice for no reason, was told it sometimes boards a street over in front of a thrift shop by a small old lady waiting in line, and then eventually chased it down at a street corner a couple blocks away, a half hour late. All really, really questionable, not sure how greyhound can function like this, borderline criminal. I suppose this is more a greyhound review than a review for the foco transfort station, but felt required to warn people of the headache somehow until greyhound sorts things out. read more

The bus system is Rarely on time. Not with the mess of trains blocking intersections. Run on Sunday! Start at 5:00 am. The Public will appreciate it. I am a long-time fan of Transfort. It has been consistently good to me, faithfully taking me to work and home everyday with no hassle or stress. Transfort grew up and improved so much in the last couple years. Longer night hours and MAX service are very helpful. When in Fort Collins, you have to ride MAX for a nice tour of the city. read more

Have been riding the bus for months, got kicked off and made to walk in the weather, and threatened with a fine, after I was not going to buy two tickets for a bus that I just got kicked off of. I have been under the impression that MAX was free for months and when I find out it is not they make me walk while I have a cold. read more

The issue is simply consistency. I've had multiple times on the Max route where, between "detours" and kiosks being down, I've had to basically walk 1-3 miles home, versus a few blocks. And, their app is pretty much useless. 80% of the time fine...but the rest of time is a gamble. Would love to continue to support but Uber is there too. read more

If you're not in any hurry to get to your destination, then Transfort is ok. However, if you are attempting to use it to commute to a job, it's crap. I live less than six miles from my job. I spend an hour, minimum, commuting to work, riding *three* different buses in the process. If the either of the first two buses are running late, then my commute turns into a two+ hour ordeal. Also, if you have to be to work before 7AM, leave work after 7PM, or work Sundays, you're out of luck. read more

I just witnessed a man getting assaulted by a TransFort Police officer (glorified security) for refusing to remove his feet from an outdoor bench at the bus stop. I tried to record, but my phone died, so I just joined him on the bench with my feet up too. Suddenly, the TransFort officer became much less physical and tried to threaten me with arrest. I called his bluff. They called for backup and four Fort Collins Police officers showed up. Unable to charge me (us) for having my feet on a bench, they threatened me with interfering with an investigation, causing a disturbance, and disorderly conduct. After I shared with them that I felt they were breaking the public's trust and that I was simply standing up for this man who was being assaulted and bullied, I told them they were welcome to cite and/or arrest me. I then invoked the 5th amendment. I encouraged the man who was being bullied to do the same and was able to help him calm down. After 15 minutes of talking among themselves, the Police handed us papers to file a written statement against the TransFort officer and told us to leave. When we left, I gave the man a ride to his AA meeting at a local church. I may have acted a bit recklessly, but TransFort Police was about to intentionally escalate the situation into an act of violence that could have landed this guy in the hospital and then prison. I'm absolutely sick of the way the Fort Collins authorities have been bullying people without homes. If you witness anything similar, please be an ally. read more

If you're in Fort Collins I suppose it's an okay option, but their "regional" Flex route is operated poorly at best. They have on multiple occasions changed the Boulder stop locations without so much as an update on their website or the physical location, and I have been stranded more times than I'd like to count because the bus left much earlier than it was supposed to. The bus only runs between Boulder and Fort Collins on weekdays, and doesn't run at all on Sundays, which makes traversing the route very tough. Their customer service is unhelpful, as they often know less about the line than the riders do. Overall, I say it's about time Transfort gets their shit together on Flex - only ride it if it's an ABSOLUTE NECESSITY. read more

The system used to be great. All of these changes, including new drivers have degraded entirely. I am late to class literally everyday. Now I understand with all us students getting on and off the bus it slows them down quite a bit, but I actually have late classes, and it's at a time of day when the traffic is slow and I don't just mean actual traffic, I also mean passenger traffic. One driver drove way under th speed limit when he was already ten minutes behind on the route. Made me over ten minutes late for class. PLUS... I was the only passenger on the bus throughout the route. So... Why so late? Probably because he was driving so slow I actually saw a tortoise tread his tires. And what happened to our drivers pulling over and sitting a moment or two when they are way above schedule? I arrive at my stop literally at the same time every day and bus isn't scheduled for another 8 minutes after I get there and usually they're even later then that. Obviously, as I already stated, I'm always late to my evening class because of this. Well the other day the driver arrived early. I was across the street waiting for the light to change. Like I said I am always at my stop at that time. I just needed to cross the street I was in no hurry because I was always there at that time. He drove past me, and kept going despite being early. Ended up late for work that day. So thanks. I'm glad they can be late or early and keep their jobs but because of that I get reprimanded at my job when it was due to someone else's irresponsibility. And I don't want to hear "latch an earlier bus" first of all, only two buses come by my home and they literally are only like ten minutes for each other depending on the direction I'm going, which of course, is always towards CSU. The next arrival isn't for a whole hour for either bus route that comes by my street. The number 6 used to come mor frequently within the hour. Why you changed that is beyond my comprehension. But who wants to go to work or class almost 2 hours early, on,y to twiddle your thumbs until then? Ridiculous. And no, homework doesn't keep m preoccupied. I usually have my homework done the evening before. So yes I ended up literally twiddling my thumbs for two hours. That's ridiculous. I've lived here since high school and started taking the bus my freshman year of college and back then it was so nice. And coming from a student the fact that you cater to us and no one else in town is completely unethical. People aren't stupid you cater to us because the college brings in the city money. Okay, I get that. But maybe you'd get revenue from the rest of the citizens if they could make it to work on time... Just a thought. read more
