Dad's favorite EXT burnt up the transmission. According to Jason and Jesus, the factory cooler was the issue. They installed a bigger and more efficient cooler and replaced the damaged parts. I sure am glad I didn't just swap another OEM part and had the experts look at it. I turned around and pulled a trailer full of family treasure safely to Colorado. Transmission stayed cool (140 or less) the whole way. The EXT pulled like a beast! Sabrina always was helpful over phone and post repair inspection was quick. This transmission shop has no techs that are helpful. The manager has No transmission skills . I had my 68 Chevrolet chevelle get a new 700R4 transmission scheduled . It took them a total of four months to complete. When I got it. The transmission had a seal leak , had exhaust manifold leak (I discovered 6 bolts were NOT retighten.) And the starter has a metal bang when starting. Manger would not under his 90 warranty repair the issues. I juss got a refund to get out of this horrible situation. read more

SCAMMERS!!! I came here a few months ago when my clutch gave out. I wanted to get it fixed as soon as possible so I came here forgetting to read the reviews of this place. When I was here the manager was super nice making me feel like this was the perfect place for my car to get its clutch replaced. Luckily my friend responded to me being here when I sent him my location. He said that he brought his G35 here and they "fixed" his clutch and ended up breaking other pieces of his clutch assembly, fly wheel, etc. and kept his car longer just to keep "fixing" things that were broken that didn't need to be fixed. Another one of my friends contacted me after and something similar happened. Then I told my parents where I was and they said they got scammed here when they were younger. At first I didn't believe them because I desperately wanted to get my clutch fixed. Then I apologized to the manager saying that I just needed a quote for how much it would cost to fix my car and that I was going to leave and maybe comeback. The quote was a cheap price like $700 to get my clutch fixed where as a dealership would cost almost $2,000. While I was there the technician rode in the car with me and all he diagnosed in my car was that my clutch was slipping. I already knew that. Then when about to leave the manager immediately changed his mood from super friendly to annoyed and upset. He said that I owed him around $200 for his technician diagnosing my car. I said all he did was ride in my car and watch my rpms slip and say "your clutch is slipping." The manager then proceeded to say "he took time out of his day to ride with you and diagnose your car." I said that took 3 minutes. He held my key for about 10 minutes while we were going back and forth about me paying. He then gave up and said fine, bye and shoved the key in my hand. Thanks for the reply. I'm not surprised discount transmission is no longer and runing under a new name. I was most definitely verbally quoted a price of $450 then it turned into $4300. With the transmission taken apart completely it left a choice to put it back together or move forward. Yes the legal owner of the vehicle decided to pay the $4300 with the assumption a newly rebuilt transmission would last another 160k miles as that was what was on the vehicle at time of repair. There's been nothing but leak and shifting issues and I was charged for a transmission mount that eas NOT put on the car. Changing a name of a business doesn't change the facts. Took my car in a while back to get the clutch replaced, told the manager on 3 separate occasions that I wanted to keep the old clutch both in person and on the phone. Even the mechanic (Juan) knew I wanted to keep the clutch. When I came to pick up the vehicle, the manager said that the clutch was already thrown away and picked up by a engine recycle company, and stated that we never told him that we wanted to keep the clutch. Afterwards, Juan brought out the old clutch saying it was still here and handed it to me. The manager just shrugged his shoulders and laughed awkwardly. What a joke. This whole business is a joke and I would never want anyone to bring their vehicle here. If I had the option to give them 0 stars I would if I could. I called them in the morning to repair my Volvo it was shifting hard. I had to call them back in the afternoon for them to give me a quote, I took my vehicle the next day to get the required service it need. I took my vehicle there in the morning as instructed I had to call them back again. to see if my vehicle was ready for pick up, the initial quote was $90.00 dollars for them to pump the fluid into the transmission, They tell me about the problem with the transmission, so now I dont get the service and charge me $112.00 for something I already knew about. I knew the transmission wasn't in the best condition, the vehicle has 160k. But then to charge me more then what they initially quoted N not call me not professional at all. Used to be the go-to place for all our vehicles. Until, a still under warranty catalytic converter they installed went bad. They offered to work with the manufacturer, great thought. But then, it took a month of my husband and I calling to find out when we can get the car fixed. We were willing to pay and skip the warranty. But when they keep promising to call back and never called back, it felt like a run around. They made me feel like a bad customer trying to dupe them. Too bad. Really liked them and service was good. This place is the worst do not take your business here. They kept my car for over 2 weeks and made me pay for work that was not required. I had to buy my own rebuilt transmission because I paid them up front for labor. I have made a formal complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair. While I was there the owner Jason threatened to have me arrested if I spoke to other customers about his shady business. I brought in my 2008 Buick Enclave for service and they wanted to charge me over $3, 000 for a work that would only be about$27 for parts. Sadly, I had a very disappointing experience at this establishment. I brought my vehicle in due to issues my car was having with shifting gears (it's an automatic). I did appreciate that they said they'd evaluate it for free, however when they were finished with their transmission evaluation, they said there was nothing wrong with it. They said they would lubricate my linkages (for a reasonable price) but my transmission was fine. The service did increase my vehicles shifting performance and I was momentarily reassured. Two days later the shifting issues came back along with my reverse gear going completely out. I took it to another transmission place and it turns out there were several different issues. Update from previous review: Approximately a month back, we had to bring my daughters car back in again for a now more serious issue. The Transmission would not shift while on the highway. Based on many previous bad experiences and the lack of service we had received in the past, I had prepared myself for a nasty confrontation and to be treated like crap. i was pleasantly surprised first in speaking with Maria on the phone and then when meeting with Jason, who I had worked with in the early stages of the repairs, was there to greet us. The extremely rude, unprofessional and unwilling to help individual i have been battling with for months was no longer a part of the organization. When we met with Jason, he took the time to listen to my daughter and actually take an interest in what she was saying, what a difference. Jason took the car and after a couple of days he called back to explain they needed to pull the transmission for repairs. Jason explained that my daughter had gone a few miles over the warranty, but that he was going to make it right and put her back on the road. A few weeks later, my daughter is back in her car and the transmission is shifting like a new transmission. It feels better than it ever has. It is a shame that it took so long and we had such a bad experience, but thanks to Jason, my faith and confidence in Discount Transmission has been restored and my daughter is a satisfied customer. Best experience I've ever had at an auto repair shop. Office staff and mechanics are all very professional, helpful and friendly. I took my bmw 335i to 4 other shops in fairfield and vallejo before coming here, and they all said either get a new transmission or it needs a complete rebuild. They all quoted me between $3,000 and $4,500. Transmission discount center diagnosed my vehicle and found that it was NOT even the transmission that needed to be replaced IT WAS THE VALVE BODY. They fixed it in 2 days and it cost me less than $900! I recommend this shop to anyone looking for honest and and amazing mechanics. read more

They told me it was cuz the distributor. paid around $400 for it. then the light came on again. took it back. they put in another distributor, and it comes on again. went back the third time and finally, after 3 trips my car was good. I definitely did not like how inconvenient it was for me to keep going back there. As for the Owners/Employees, Jason is the guy that answers the phone. He seemed like a good guy that knows how to communicate with his customers til I overheard him having a conversation with Juan (who was very helpful to me), referring to me as an asshole. I took my car here because the transmission was shifting rough, and it had high mileage, so I wasn't surprised when they called and said they needed to rebuild it. I had to rent a car, and it took 10 days. When I got the car back, surprise, it still did the same thing! After calling, and leaving the car with them 2 additional times, all they did was try to tweak the ECM (computer) with no improvement. Sadly, I now have no confidence in this company, and don't want to rent a car for the 4th time for the same result. I was charged $2500 and when i received the car the only thing that was completed was the was fuck up door reattached. my money has not been returned and i filed a case in small claims . i gone else where and the car is properly fixed. they even did damage to the cars electrical system that was not a problem when they received the car and broke it trying to fix something they didn't know how to do who know how many of these good yelp reviews are fake. Well, they fixed my car, so for that they get the stars. The place is run like a car dealership kind of. Its not any cheaper than the going rate and they put the screws to you for commitment to have it repaired there. I was going to have it done there anyway, but the guy just wouldn't let me bring it in when i wanted. Instead he insisted that i bring it in sooner with the promise that they could repair it in one day. Of course, i should have known they wouldn't have it done on time and he was probably working on commission. Anyway, sure enough they didn't have it done nor did they call me to tell me so. So i call and they tell me they had trouble repairing it...,it was just a new clutch. Anyhoo, after changing my work schedule so i could get my car back the guy didn't seem to mind making me wait even longer-stopping to train a new guy and fill out paperwork very slowly. I am not a fan of this place, as a single woman with no knowledge of cars I took my car in, I at least knew my transmission was slipping. I came in really to have them diagnose the problem and get a quote, I was taken on a quick test drive and was pretty much told that I needed to get it fixed ASAP and felt almost pressured into leaving my car there. I was told a cheaper price in the beginning and told it would take a few weeks to repair by the time it was "repaired" I spent about $4000. This was last year I felt like I was still filling the transmission slip. Last month I was leaving a job about half hour away from home, and the car did something and made a sound I never felt or heard before and all of a sudden my check engine light came on again. I ignored it for a few weeks and finallyr I had my current job an auto shop run the codes to diagnose the problem they told me they were the same exact codes from before. I feel as if, I paid thousands of dollars to this company it should have lasted longer then a little over a year and a half. This is my honest and true experience with this shop as a first-time customer. I turned in my car with a transmission/shifter problem. My bill was for $899.64 parts and labor after the work was done. The parts installed were for the transmission cable and shifter(used). The main problem was solved, but when I got my car back the radio was not working, the shifter lights were out, the back carpet(left side) was soak with water. It took two weeks to dry even after vacuuming. I reschedule the car to correct the discrepancies. My car stayed in their shop more than three days before they fixed the radio and shifter lights, but the carpet was still wet. When I initially notified the shop of the problem that arose after I picked up my car, Jason didn't even say sorry. Obviously there was negligence on their part that's why the carpet got wet--the car window was left opened when it rained. My experience with this person was not so pleasant. He should attend seminar on Customer Service. Sabrina on the other hand, the shop clerk was saccomodating. The overall professionalism of the technicians and the shop in my opinion based on my experienced is questionable.
