Lots of creative rolls! I enjoyed "The Migs" roll, just a little spicy. The Paradise roll was good if you like sweet coconut shrimp. My daughter enjoyed the rainbow roll. "Best sushi I've had in a while" she said. And we usually go to high quality places. Definitely looking forward to trying more rolls!

Veterans Day was yesterday and my BIL & SIL treated my husband and I to AYCE lunches at Trapper's Sushi in Lacey, WA. Thank you Veteran's!! The AYCE dining is at the sushi counter. Due to my husband who uses a wheelchair, they allowed our party to sit at a 4 top table and enjoy our sushi there which we truly appreciated. My husband is physically unable to sit in a higher bar stool. We have eaten at Trapper's in Silverdale, Bonney Lake, Lacey, Parkland and Tacoma several times in the last 8 months. When we lived in Las Vegas for 3 years, we frequently would have the discussion of how nice it would be if Trapper opened a Vegas location. We strongly believe that Trapper's would be very successful there. We also recently discovered that there are new Trapper's restaurants in Arizona, YAY!! My husband and BIL actually met Trapper and dined frequently at his first restaurant, Sushi Town in Bonney Lake around 20 years ago. We really enjoy getting our sushi cravings satisfied at the Trapper's restaurants. The food is delicious, made fresh to order, and the value is fair. They do have a rewards program as well as a veterans discount. Thank you!! For some reason, the service was extremely slow yesterday at the Lacey location. There appeared to be more than enough staff members working the sushi bar area, the hostess, and wait staff. I waitressed for several years prior to becoming a registered nurse. Our waitress simply did not have her head in the game. She was extremely distracted. We requested extra napkins twice from her and they never were brought. The third time, a male waiter came over and my husband asked him and the request was satisfied quickly. Waters were finally refilled, but no ice. To me, when I asked for ice water, that is exactly what I would like please. I am not a pop drinker. Even with low sodium soy sauce, I get thirsty quickly and easily can drink 2 glasses of water. I just found it quite peculiar to pour water out of a stainless steel pitcher and not a single ice cube in either my or my SIL's water glasses. I always tip quite well. Let's face it, maybe 2 rolls, and some appetizers....AYCE buffets love me because I don't eat the price of the meal. More water means I get fuller faster. So wait staff please pay attention to detail. Put yourself in your customers shoes. Work as if you were sitting there waiting over 30 minutes to get your order started and hadn't eaten since the day before. I sat facing the sushi bar and could see sushi orders piling up at the end of the counter waiting for wait staff to retrieve them to deliver the food to customers. We arrived around 2:15pm and the restaurant wasn't overly filled with patrons. Maybe the service would have been better with another waiter, or possibly one or two less wait staff. Maybe the waitress was newer in her role there. But she did say that she has known Trapper for 9 years. Maybe she just needs more time and additional mentoring. We very recently ate at the Silverdale (definitely 5 stars), location and it was impeccably clean. The hostess could be seen wiping down menus and counters when she was not helping a customer. Our waitress, Melissa that day was phenomenal! She like many other wait staff spoke exceptionally high of Trapper and the family like working atmosphere. She has worked there for 10 years. Those are the feel good stories that leave you smiling because you see the authenticity beaming how pleased she is to be an integral Trapper's family member. I wish I could say the same for the Lacey location. The floors had visible trash on them. One thing that bothered me was looking up and seeing gnats flying around near the ceiling lights. We all enjoyed our food yesterday at the Lacey location, that is, when the food was finally delivered. The sushi chefs did a fantastic job with the presentation of the rolls and appetizers. The hostess was pleasant and even sang happy birthday to my husband. Recommendations for future improvement at the Lacey location: better attention to details, quicker responsiveness, retrieving and delivering food promptly, owning pride of doing your job done well. Maintaining a clean environment, working together as a family team. There is no I in team, and coming in with a positive attitude, helping each other out only shines a brighter light on each other and the company. The more satisfied the customers are equivalates to larger tips. And, being positive and interactive with your teammates and customers helps the shift go by faster and so much more enjoyable. Overall 4 stars for the food quality, price and presentation at Lacey yesterday. 2.5 stars for cleanliness. 2 stars for waitress. And again, the Silverdale location, waitress Melissa, hostess, sushi chefs, restaurant cleanliness all 5 stars.

Boy was this place cold inside! Luckily we had a blanket in the car for our little one. The faux wood metal chairs were absolutely uncomfortable and made our time there even colder. Service was slow and food was even slower. Sure it was Mother's Day weekend but waiting over 25 minutes for food is no fun especially with a 'hangry' little one. Seating was limited and crowded. It's the first time I've ever seen multiple families with their babies be seated at the counter bar area. They take reservations and walk-ins but I recommend making a reservation because our wait was 30 minutes. I might try this place again. Food was okay. We were not fans of the menu options for kids. We did not get the warm and fuzzies from this dining experience.

This was our first time being in Lacey, WA it was close to my brothers house and who can pass up Sushi:)). As we entered we were seated immediately as a party of 5 so that was nice:)) Our waitress was immediately took our drink orders and explained the menu and specials to us which was great. Lets fast forward to after we ordered our food. It took FOREVER for our food to come let alone by the time our food came our drinks had already been waiting to be refilled.. The food was good, but I gotta say once we ordered our service pretty much went down hill :(((

Currently on the look for great sushi... found this place close to home and the happy hour menu was pretty impressive with 3 rolls for $33! The vibe was very casual and relaxed, kind of felt like we were in a bar more than a sushi restaurant. The service was fast and friendly and we were seated immediately. Food came out quickly and was well played and appetizing. I will say, for the area, it's not bad but still lacking something. Considering we are so close to water I am expecting super fresh sushi options and this place offered lots of options but the flavor fell just a little short. Overall, not bad. Will likely try again in the near future.

The service is great, nice guy and so friendly and attentive to his tables. The food, is kind of flavorless unfortunately. Not the worst sushi i've had but it could definitively use some more flavor. The restaurant has limited space so if you want to bring a big party, get there early or get on the waitlist.

This is a very middle of the road sushi joint. Sushi is ok but not for the price. Quality does not match the astronomical price tags.

Delicious, healthy food and friendly service! I can't complain :)…read more I was in the area for errands and the name of the restaurant made me want to try out the food here. I went inside to place an order. Although initially vacant at first, the space was quickly occupied by following customers lining up after my arrival. One of the employees appeared to be taking out the trash while the other greeted me and helped me with my order when I arrived. There were various options for ordering, but I decided to go with the nori wrap. You can select a customized option or go with one of their premade choices, which lists all the ingredients inside. I was feeling seafood so I went with the Seahawk. The employee asked me if I wanted everything with it, and I asked to just sub one of the sauces with the Chipotle sauce. The portions are definitely huge and worth the pricing, because she had to double wrap my order just so it would all fit and wouldn't fall out. To pair with the nori wrap, I also ordered the original miso soup, which comes with the usual tofu and seaweed but is on the sweeter side compared to what I'm used to. I personally like it sweeter but if you don't, I probably wouldn't order it. I don't often crave healthy food, but it was fairly filling and I had a good experience, so I'll be back to try out MiSo again!

Yummy food but oh so pricey! I ordered takeout through the…read morephone for my first visit because I was interested in the lunch specials that were offered. Unfortunately, I was looking at an outdated menu on Yelp, so the spicy tofu soup is no longer on the lunch specials, AND if you want a "lunch special," it needs to be specified when placing the order. I assumed that because it was lunch time, I would be paying the lunch pricing? That wasn't the case when I arrived. Parking seems to only be on the same side as the barber shop (which i think is connected to the restaurant as well?). When I walked in, I didn't really check out the place. Seems like a classic no-frills Korean restaurant. An ajumma (아줌마) appeared at the register after a couple seconds (lol that is the first description that came to mind). I informed her of my phone order and she brought out the food and rang me up for around $55? I was thinking, yikes, that's a steep price for a spicy tofu soup and a lunch special of the galbi and mentioned it to her. She told me that the portion made is not the lunch special and next time, make sure to specify that over the phone if I want the Lunch special or dinner portion. She clarified, while acting out the mannerisms, of customers that would complain about the Lunch special, because they would want a dinner portion instead, so she just places general orders as the dinner portion. (I can already imagine the Karens she must have received for her reaction, which is understandable, but at the time, I was just slightly irritated since I was hoping to pay a cheaper price.) I am assuming after this experience, there is a difference in portion size for the lunch and dinner pricing.. Besides the miscommunication, I can at least say that the food was prepared quickly since it was ready by the time I arrived at the restaurant (about 15 mins after I placed the order?). With the outcast weather, I was craving some soondubu, and Seoul Garden definitely delivered! The tofu portions were generous and the broth was the right amount of spicy where you can taste the flavor but it is not overwhelming. I was not expecting so many complementary sides either! They paired very well with the rice and galbi, which was thoroughly marinated in a delectable glaze. Even though I was initially frustrated that I received the dinner portion, I calmed down after eating the galbi. My son and I actually ended up devouring it.. the food was so good, I totally forgot about the pricing at the moment. Just keep in mind though, this place is not advertised as KBBQ, so you're paying for individual plates/dishes/orders that should already be cooked. I would only recommend this restaurant if there are certain staples you really enjoy (i.e. you're only craving bulgogi but don't want to go out to eat or grill it), because it is arguably just as expensive as KBBQ. But if you're a foodie that can afford it, I'd suggest stopping by to try it out yourself! :)

I'm not impressed…read more Because I got hustled out of the restaurant before closing time and while I was still eating! And I don't mean that the waitress just brought my check quickly, although she did do that, too. She actually asked me to leave, "So I can go home." It was still 35 minutes before closing time when I got back into my car after packing up most of my food. (8:25 pm. They close at 9.) Which packing I did by myself. She didn't help. She hovered there at my table while I worked, immediately grabbing every dish as I emptied it. It made me so nervous that I accidentally knocked the filled to-go-box off the table while reaching for another plate of food. The box fell upside-down, spilling the still very hot food all over my lap and the floor. So I lost half of my food. And got my blouse, pants, and jacket dirty. And the wasted food was somewhat expensive for a simple Mom-and-Pop kind of place. $20 for one item plus extra for the can of Coke. I do get that all those different vegetables prepared in different ways are a lot of work. I wouldn't have minded the price if the service had been decent and if I actually got to eat all of the food. I'm sure she wouldn't have done that to a couple or a group. Probably not to a solo male diner either. And maybe not to an Asian-looking solo diner (I'm Caucasian.) And I gave her a good tip, too. Before she asked me to leave, obviously. I shouldn't have signed the check before I was finished eating. Lesson learned. I was the only customer, on a Saturday night, and the only car in the customer parking lot. That was a little alarming, even more so on a dark night in a rundown part of town. Besides feeling a little unsafe, I questioned why the place was apparently so unpopular. They had no non-alcoholic drinks on the menu except for 4 or 5 basic brands and flavors of canned soda. Served right in the can with only a straw. No glass or ice. No ice in my water glass either. No tea of any kind, not even canned or bottled. She did offer coffee (which I don't like) after asking me to leave. I guess I was supposed to gulp down boiling hot coffee while I packed up my food. No desserts on the menu, either, nor was I offered any. When I later ate the food from the to-go box, there wasn't a single piece of meat in it. There wasn't much to begin with, and it all must have gone onto the floor. Good thing I don't love meat. I'm glad I made a big mess all over the floor under the table. (But I swear I didn't do it on purpose. She certainly deserved that, but I wanted that food!) The food (I had Bibimbap) was very good. I loved all the different kinds and preparations of vegetables, and the crispy rice crust at the bottom of the stone pot. It was bland though, and no salt or soy sauce was on the table. Maybe on request. I didn't ask, because the server didn't seem to speak English very well. The restaurant does have quite a few interesting kinds of soup and fried rice, as well as bulgogi, that I'd also like to try. If I come again, I'd request tea and soy sauce, and bring my own salt packets just in case. And I'd go very early in the evening. And long before dark. But I'll try K-Kitchen (another Korean restaurant nearby) first. I've never written a restaurant review before. But I joined Yelp to post this one. People considering this restaurant need to hear this story. So should the owners and managers of the place. Although I wonder if my waitress might have been the owner. Because what employee would do that? They'd lose their job! I live in a very small town in a very remote area. Going T o an interesting restaurant like this one is a rare and very special treat for me. And my money is as good, and as hard-earned, as anyone else's. I deserved better.
