The seafood is served in a cracker bowl which is both super sustainable and a fun way to eliminate waste. The service was so nasty toward the tourists that I was really close to stepping away from the venue during the initial interaction. But we were tired from a long day of exploring and were opting for something more casual before heading on the ferry back. Prices for the dishes aren't exactly cheap. For a pile of seafood and a drink I believe the cost was close to 20 euros. Overall, if you can go to another spot that offers fresher fritto misto you might be able to enjoy it and have a better experience than this location.

I bought a water because the kitchen was closed. The man that I spoke to was pretty rude. My mother also needed to use the bathroom. While she was in there and the worker saw her go in there he proceeded to start banging on the door after her being in there for 1 minute. Because of the worker banging on the door my mother peed everywhere. NOT COOL! RUDE PEOPLE WORK HERE! Water bottle was good that's why the 2 stars not 1.

Amazing restaurant! We came to Como to celebrate our wedding anniversary and this restaurant was…read moresuch a wonderful experience. It sits very high on a hill overlooking Como and the view does not disappoint. The menu is expansive and interesting - you start with table side bread, a starter for each person (they are individual portions), then order a second course pasta dish and a final course main entree. While the food was extremely yummy the best part was how accommodating they were to my husband's serious food intolerances. He cannot eat garlic or onions (makes it very difficult in Italy) and our server Andre was so gracious and left notes for the chef and ended up making him a pasta dish not even on the menu! So incredibly kind and not expected at all. Andre also gave me an amazing wine recommendation! The Brunello...changed my life so good!!! Lastly because we were celebrating our anniversary they brought out a sparkler and yummy frozen lemon drink for us to share all while cranking up the music and congratulating us with the whole restaurant. 10/10 service!!! The restaurant itself is so charming, the only thing to be aware of is outside on the patio is is very warm with no AC, but they have fans to keep you as cool as they can.

They had AC inside and it was nice considering it was a hot day. Only reason I gave only 3 stars is because the one server was sort of rude. The table next to us didn't want wine and just ordered water. When he turned his back he was rolling his eyes. Maybe they don't drink or want to hydrate with water (which you pay for anyway) since it was hot outside. Then when they didn't order more expensive food items he also seemed disgusted and annoyed Everyone else there was great but it makes me wonder what he did to us since I just ordered spaghetti with butter sauce. (wasn't that hungry and just wanted a simple pasta dish) if he doesn't approve of such inexpensive food items maybe he should suggest them be removed!!! He was the rudest person I have encountered this whole trip to Italy.

Scampi is cut up shrimp added to the standard risotto with fish flavored sauce. I thought it was good. Maybe not authentic enough but I researched the other restaurants and they are about the same. Like all other restaurants they charge for bread as a cover fee. I would avoid the spaghetti with butter sauce. It's what it's called so nothing special about it. The next table ordered the grilled fish. This was quite a show. They present it in a platter then transfer it to the 2 dinner plates. They remove the fish bones and dish out the fillet. The left overs (bones) gets tossed with salt/pepper and they pour the fish juice over the fillet.

The dining room is a living gallery -- walls packed with hundreds of paintings and sketches gifted by patrons over a century. Among them: cartoons of Ernest Hemingway in a hilariously manic duck-hunting scene -- and his signature even adorns their guestbooks. We ordered the legendary "risotto digò" (go‑fish risotto) -- a creamy, umami-packed delight. No cream; just perfectly cooked rice in a deeply flavored fish broth made the texture silky and indulgentTruly, risotto that feels like history on a plate. "A taste of history and tradition" is no exaggeration -- this dish and entire atmosphere are one-of-a-kind. From four generations of love to the art-lined walls, every detail made our meal "unique and awesome."

As a vegetarian, I was afraid I wouldn't get to try any cicchetti as it typically contains meat, or I'm charged the same price for cheese alone. Trattoria de Romano has a variety of cicchetti that ranges in price depending on the ingredients. There was a great variety of vegetable based options, each for only €1.50. I tried the pomodoro, the asparagus cream, the pumpkin cream, and the artichoke cream. The pumpkin cream was my absolute favorite as it was sweet and smooth, but with the pumpkin flavor strong and authentic, not fake or sugary. The artichoke was my second favorite, followed by the asparagus and pomodoro. Pomodoro was delicious and bright, the tomatoes covered in garlic and basil, but it was my own bad for getting a less unique choice, which is why it is listed last. For my beverage, of course, I chose a spritz, a Spritz Bitter, which was a wonderful complement and much larger than others I have ordered, without being watered down either! Service was quick and kind, even giving me recommendations (which has been rare in Italy haha) Stop by and try a few bites!
