Fantastic place in Burano for pizza and calamari. Great place for a cool lunch in a lovely location. Extensive menu with lots of choices for everyone. Staff very pleasant.

Definitely overlooked in the beautiful city of Burano! There are flicks of tourist just walking past this little pizza shop. The pizza here was no joke, maybe best in all of Venice/Murano/Burano. The dough was very crisp yet chewy. I don't remember the name of the pizza I ordered but every single pizza sounded mouth watering so I just asked for the most ordered and went with it. I also got a grilled fresh fish of the day, the waiter told us it was literally just hauled off the boats. It sure tasted super fresh, very tender and the meat flakes off the bones with ease. I wish I had more time in Burano to come again.

I think so far this place has the best pizza I've tried in Venice. None of the pizza places wow-Ed me but principe pizzeria. We went by the recommendations of the server and had the pizza with peppers, fried egg, and salami. We also had the grilled sea bass. The waiter told us that the sea bass is very fresh and came in just 5-10 mins ago and it really tasted that fresh! They have seats outside so you can people watch and enjoy the view of Burano.

Salad with octopus, shrimp, corn, olives, and tomatoes (12 euro)

After wandering beautiful Burano, we found Principe Pizzeria due to TripAdvisor reviews. The staff are definitely used to tourists, and they have an English menu. You can choose to sit inside or outside, and there was AC inside. Food: -Gnocchi scampi (about 16 euro): This gnocchi dish came with zucchini and just a few shrimp that were halved so you really only got about 3 whole shrimp with just a measly amount of meat. The gnocchi was tender, but the sauce was flat and the overall dish just didn't do anything for me. I've definitely had better in Italy and paid less for it too. -Salad with octopus, shrimp, corn, and olives (about 12 euro): This salad is huge and can easily be shared among two people, but it was also the priciest salad I had while in Italy. I was craving seafood, but the octopus was too tough and the shrimp were almost mealy (not pleasant to eat). Other reviews raved about the seafood, so maybe it was just an off day. Service: -They do speak English here, and the service was fine (nothing that stood out). Bottom Line: I wouldn't return to this restaurant considering there are so many other choices around the town. It did its job, but it was just an average ho-hum meal with an above average price tag.

Great people, free wifi & casual atmosphere. Had a great tiramisu and some cheap good cappuccino. Clean bathroom and air conditioning too!

The ice-coffee is special: in the glass there is a scoop ice cream on the espresso, and whipped cream on the ice cream.

Squid/Inkfish spaghetti and carbonara taste very good! The ice-coffee is special: in the glass there is a scoop ice cream on the espresso, and whipped cream on the ice cream. As I stilled and mixed them up, the coffee is wonderful. The last but not the least, the prices of meals are even lower than the restaurants in mainland Venice.

Nice atmosphere on the canal Great pizza. Service a bit slow, but they were busy and we weren't in a hurry. Recommend!

A solid choice if you're in Burano for lunch. We got here around 11am and we were able to find seating outside. The service was excellent. The bread and olive oil were okay. I ordered a margarita pizza and it was definitely one of the better pizzas I had in Italy. The sauce was the best part. I also ordered the iced coffee dessert but that wasn't as amazing, still good though.

The seafood is served in a cracker bowl which is both super sustainable and a fun way to eliminate waste. The service was so nasty toward the tourists that I was really close to stepping away from the venue during the initial interaction. But we were tired from a long day of exploring and were opting for something more casual before heading on the ferry back. Prices for the dishes aren't exactly cheap. For a pile of seafood and a drink I believe the cost was close to 20 euros. Overall, if you can go to another spot that offers fresher fritto misto you might be able to enjoy it and have a better experience than this location.

Because of the worker banging on the door my mother peed everywhere. NOT COOL! RUDE PEOPLE WORK HERE! Water bottle was good that's why the 2 stars not 1.

They had AC inside and it was nice considering it was a hot day. Only reason I gave only 3 stars is because the one server was sort of rude. The table next to us didn't want wine and just ordered water. When he turned his back he was rolling his eyes. Maybe they don't drink or want to hydrate with water (which you pay for anyway) since it was hot outside. Then when they didn't order more expensive food items he also seemed disgusted and annoyed Everyone else there was great but it makes me wonder what he did to us since I just ordered spaghetti with butter sauce. (wasn't that hungry and just wanted a simple pasta dish) if he doesn't approve of such inexpensive food items maybe he should suggest them be removed!!! He was the rudest person I have encountered this whole trip to Italy.

Scampi is cut up shrimp added to the standard risotto with fish flavored sauce. I thought it was good. Maybe not authentic enough but I researched the other restaurants and they are about the same. Like all other restaurants they charge for bread as a cover fee. I would avoid the spaghetti with butter sauce. It's what it's called so nothing special about it. The next table ordered the grilled fish. This was quite a show. They present it in a platter then transfer it to the 2 dinner plates. They remove the fish bones and dish out the fillet. The left overs (bones) gets tossed with salt/pepper and they pour the fish juice over the fillet.

A taste of history & tradition…read more Our lunch at #TrattoriadaRomano was unforgettable -- nestled in colorful Burano, this fourth-generation family-run gem has been crafting its iconic risotto the same way since the 1920s, and you can feel that legacy in every bite. The dining room is a living gallery -- walls packed with hundreds of paintings and sketches gifted by patrons over a century. Among them: cartoons of Ernest Hemingway in a hilariously manic duck-hunting scene -- and his signature even adorns their guestbooks. We ordered the legendary "risotto digò" (go‑fish risotto) -- a creamy, umami-packed delight. No cream; just perfectly cooked rice in a deeply flavored fish broth made the texture silky and indulgentTruly, risotto that feels like history on a plate. "A taste of history and tradition" is no exaggeration -- this dish and entire atmosphere are one-of-a-kind. From four generations of love to the art-lined walls, every detail made our meal "unique and awesome."

As a vegetarian, I was afraid I wouldn't get to try any cicchetti as it typically contains meat, or I'm charged the same price for cheese alone. Trattoria de Romano has a variety of cicchetti that ranges in price depending on the ingredients. There was a great variety of vegetable based options, each for only €1.50. I tried the pomodoro, the asparagus cream, the pumpkin cream, and the artichoke cream. The pumpkin cream was my absolute favorite as it was sweet and smooth, but with the pumpkin flavor strong and authentic, not fake or sugary. The artichoke was my second favorite, followed by the asparagus and pomodoro. Pomodoro was delicious and bright, the tomatoes covered in garlic and basil, but it was my own bad for getting a less unique choice, which is why it is listed last. For my beverage, of course, I chose a spritz, a Spritz Bitter, which was a wonderful complement and much larger than others I have ordered, without being watered down either! Service was quick and kind, even giving me recommendations (which has been rare in Italy haha) Stop by and try a few bites!
