This spot is located in Burano island in Venice and was one of the few restaurants that was pretty packed when we walked around. Fortunately there was no wait sitting inside. We ended up getting a few items that we really enjoyed. Fish Lasagna - This doesn't sound but wow it was one of the best things we had on our trip in Italy. It's delicious, and all the flavors totally work. Creamy, packed with flavor. (5/5) Seafood Pizza - We got this pizza that had I think arugula and shrimp on it. Looking for a place to have lunch during a layover that was part of a boat excursion from Venice, we wanted a place that was away from the Rainbow Road which is littered with tourist traps. This place is right off of the bridge at the three points junction, and has a very cool vibe to it. We were able to snag a table right by the water, and I think we scored in finding this place, rather than getting trapped in all of the hullabaloo on the main street. The fried calamari is excellent, and the pizzas, though not memorable, are a good quality. I don't know that I would rank this place in the upper echelon, but the food is certainly passable, and the overall experience is kicked up a notch based on its location by the water. read more

Definitely overlooked in the beautiful city of Burano! There are flicks of tourist just walking past this little pizza shop. The pizza here was no joke, maybe best in all of Venice/Murano/Burano. The dough was very crisp yet chewy. I don't remember the name of the pizza I ordered but every single pizza sounded mouth watering so I just asked for the most ordered and went with it. I also got a grilled fresh fish of the day, the waiter told us it was literally just hauled off the boats. It sure tasted super fresh, very tender and the meat flakes off the bones with ease. I think so far this place has the best pizza I've tried in Venice. None of the pizza places wow-Ed me but principe pizzeria. We went by the recommendations of the server and had the pizza with peppers, fried egg, and salami. We also had the grilled sea bass. The waiter told us that the sea bass is very fresh and came in just 5-10 mins ago and it really tasted that fresh! After wandering beautiful Burano, we found Principe Pizzeria due to TripAdvisor reviews. The staff are definitely used to tourists, and they have an English menu. You can choose to sit inside or outside, and there was AC inside. Food: -Gnocchi scampi (about 16 euro): This gnocchi dish came with zucchini and just a few shrimp that were halved so you really only got about 3 whole shrimp with just a measly amount of meat. The gnocchi was tender, but the sauce was flat and the overall dish just didn't do anything for me. I've definitely had better in Italy and paid less for it too. -Salad with octopus, shrimp, corn, and olives (about 12 euro): This salad is huge and can easily be shared among two people, but it was also the priciest salad I had while in Italy. I was craving seafood, but the octopus was too tough and the shrimp were almost mealy (not pleasant to eat). Other reviews raved about the seafood, so maybe it was just an off day. Service: -They do speak English here, and the service was fine (nothing that stood out). Bottom Line: I wouldn't return to this restaurant considering there are so many other choices around the town. Careful! This spot could be accidentally overlooked! Like the rest of Burano, this storefront has a brightly colored exterior. When I visited, there were umbrellas that were the colors of the Italian flag outside. I had a long day of sightseeing before arriving here, but Yelp seemed to strongly recommend this place. It was only me. I had some buffalo mozzarella and with proscuitto. The portion was quite large for a single person. But it was delicious- possibly even a light lunch by itself. I believe I also had a margherita pizza, which was as great as you could hope- with being so far north in Italy, it was really delicious. The service was prompt, kind, and helpful. I had an Aperol spritz, some bottled mineral water, and finished everything with an espresso. I sat outside watching people pass by in the August sun. It was pretty delightful. First time to Burano and was definitely not disappointed! Stumbled upon this adorable Pizzeria along the canal and they had a really cute atmosphere. We had been given advice that the fish is worth trying so I got fish and chips. I gota say.. I've been to London and the fish and chips at Principe was definitely the best I'd ever had!!
