Don't suggest walking to the station from the Main Street as there is a parking lot provided and those hills are not for the weak! It's fun to ask the characters questions before the murder happens. Then you have time to fill out your paperwork with the correct answers to win a prize! While on the train you can enjoy a well arrange Valentine's Day snack pack for two with sandwich's, fruit, chocolate dipped strawberries and cookies along with wine, water and beer! At the end, as you're exiting the train, they give out beautiful red roses to the ladies to enjoy. This is a favorite thing for us to do! Sometimes I wish it was much longer! They have about three trips a day Noon, 2, 4pm. All the characters are Knowledge, the train staff are awesome when checking in! The grounds are perfect for parking and bathroom facilities. There are many other train trips to take throughout the year, so definitely hop aboard and experience the beauty of the region and explore the gold rush time of Virginia City NV.

Before we even stepped into the mine, Gary sat us under a tree and told the story of Virginia City and The Comstock Load. I've lived in Northern Nevada for years, and he still taught me things I had never heard before! It was a great reminder of just how much fascinating history we have right here in our own backyard. I also appreciated how patient and thoughtful he was with everyone in our group, especially the children and those who needed a little extra time walking through the mine. He made sure everyone felt included. As a bonus, Gary is also an author! I ended up buying one of his books (I collect children's books for my office), and he has written other books too. I may have to buy the others with my next visit. Whether you're visiting from out of town, or you've lived here for years, the Chollar Mine Tour is absolutely worth experiencing. Kelsey gave us 8 different wines that were all high quality, providing a nice overview of each. She is funny and personable. We liked one sample so much we shared a full bottle at the end. The cost was appropriate for the generous number of tasting pours. The sunset tour passed by Camp Richardson then to Emerald Bay, where we got a nice history of the castle and area. It did not feel rushed at all. Definitely recommend this tour!

I liked my chicken with the chimichurri sauce, and the mushroom ragout was good. My cousin said the steak was too fatty. Each plate had the broccolini but it was not cooked properly. Very chewy and just ended up eating the florets. The salad only had the balsamic vinegar dressing offered and it was quite a bit that was drizzled on, perhaps may want to ask to put on the side. One dessert of cheesecake with strawberry drizzle was offered. Typically I'm not a cheesecake fan, but I thought it was pretty good. Staff were wonderful, shout out to Ozzie! They have everyone eat when board, and the 2nd & 3rd floor was blocked off but open about an hour later after most finished dinner. That way the staff was able to clean up the 1st floor while most were on the other decks. Initially the Zephyr cove was cloudy, but halfway through, the sky opened up. A brief history explanation comes thru the speakers on emerald bay once enter the bay. You don't see the water colors till get quite close, and the best view is on the top deck. It's stunning. After leaving the bay, a 2 person band came on and played some great songs that many sweet couples got up to dance to. Coupled with the spectacular sunset, this dinner cruise was an unforgettable experience and I want to come back with my husband.

I got absolutely none of it. At boarding, the dock was chaotic with zero organization -- they were prioritizing a large corporate group while the rest of us were left confused and waiting. We were sent upstairs where there was no seating, forcing us to stand in the cold for nearly two hours while spending $100 out of pocket on drinks to hold us over for the dinner that was almost 2 hours late! Then we were literally packed into a cramped stairwell for 30 minutes -- a fire hazard their own service manager admitted to -- while the corporate group enjoyed the upper deck. When we were finally seated, I had to remind the manager I'd paid for window seats because she tried to put us in the middle of the room. By then it was pitch dark outside. Zero views. Zero complimentary drink. Ever. The food was a disaster. My medium rare steak came out overcooked and tough, the salmon was cold, and we were rushed off the boat before we even finished dessert. To make it worse -- I've called multiple times and been put on hold and hung up on repeatedly. I've sent emails with zero response. A manager on the boat promised a refund and never followed through. The customer service is as bad as the experience itself. Save your money and your special occasions for somewhere that actually values its guests.

I was shocked at the lack of options so I called the hotel we were visiting to ask who they use. This has been one of my best discoveries in years and I will use them exclusively next time I'm in town.
