I asked Richelle, the owner, to design a trip that would encompass both a VIP trek to climb Kilmanjaro and a safari to "chill" afterwards. I will mention this was with also my twin boys aged 20, so VIP to me is definitely different to two college students. My goal was to not go too overboard but really nice. Soul of Africa then went to work. One thing I really liked was that I was given a few choices of which type of Kilimanjaro trip would fit best for my expectations. Richelle was extremely communicative and available to walk me through those choices. Her vast experience was very helpful to narrow the decision by my vision and budget. She championed me with her knowledge to take the shortest flight on KLM/Delta to Tanzania which I'm glad we did. She offered to make those flights for no markup. We arrived, met by the Soul of Africa greeter/driver, and from that moment were cared for to a trip that just got better and better. Each person we met from the Soul of Africa planning, was beyond polite and friendly and helpful. There was never a hiccup because of a well planned itinerary and representatives on the ground. Having a well designed itinerary was very helpful to my boys. I had forgotten as a Dad how important a schedule is, especially with the hit of jet lag on us. The questions of "what's next?" was at their fingertips. Our SofA guide became like a family member. I could go on and on about our trip. Yes, with three guides and a support crew(porters)of 17 not including our cook and personal tent butler we easily made it to the Kilmanjaro summit on a perfect sunrise morning. Those 8 days were beyond words "off the grid" with my boys and our team. But so were the next five days (after the best shower ever lol) heading to our luxury tent camp in the Serengeti. Lion kills, elephants, giraffes, leopards, etc of circle of life in an ideal setting. It couldn't have been better but I'm guessing by now that's getting redundant.
