We ended up picking a Princess Cruise and related land tours. Dave Branson is our consultant and he took it upon himself to arrange the cruise and our land tours and flights. He did a superlative job. One can only hope that a cruise meets the expectations that the advertisements often pique. In our case, Princess came up short, being that the ship seemed to be out of date in terms of decor and amenities. Food was also inconsistent. The tour advisor cannot be blamed for the failings of the cruise line. Without Dave Branson our experience would have been far different, and probably much less enjoyable.

I've been many times for over 25 years and booked direct and with travel agents. Direct is ok for something simple, you know the cruise line maybe and maybe repeating a trip...say Carnival for the Christmas weekend to Ensenada...but my experience is that the pricing is the same whether buying direct from the line or buying with a travel agent. The travel agent gets a small commission from the line, obviously but they are buying at a discount so the pricing is consistent whether buying from the travel agent or going direct. But what you get FOR FREE from the travel agent is often invaluable in the form of advice about a particular line, the cruise, the ports, where on the ship you want you state room and a dozen other question that these experts to provide. The team at Expedia Laguna Hills is great at this. Old school customer service, actually answering the phone personally and helping you RIGHT NOW, not a website, not endlessly clicking for answers you can't find, real answers when you need them. Dave, Chris and others are responsive, knowledgeable, experienced and very easy to understand, very hard to find in our modern world and so great to have them right here in Orange County.

Each travel guide he arranged for our multiple travel legs were outstanding and very knowledgeable! We felt like we were traveling with close friends. We highly recommend VIP Journeys Latin America for your travel needs and personal tour guide. Our amazing trip began in Bogotá with our travel guide, Camilo Garcia. We stayed at Sofitel Bogotá Victoria Regia Hotel. The accommodations were exquisite. Upon arrival into our room we were pleasantly surprised with a boxed set of Colombian Rum mini bottles for us to enjoy. We did a private tour of Bogotá, it was fantastic! We got to enjoy the Gold museum and several art galleries. Camilo introduced us to their traditional pastime, "Tejo" which essentially is like playing the Cornhole game here in America. Next, we travelled to Cartagena and stayed at the Charleston Santa Teresa Hotel which reminded us of a Spanish Hacienda with a beautiful open courtyard where we enjoyed breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We preferred staying in the walled city of Cartagena, it is a fairy tale city with cobblestone alleys in which got to enjoy open-air cafes & restaurants. Our tour guide Cesar Rada was sensational and great fun. We felt so ease with him, we invited him to lunch with us. Next we travelled to Pereira airport for the Coffee Region of Armenia for our lovely stay in this colonial style farmhouse, Hacienda Bambusa which perfectly located in the pristine Colombian Countryside. This majestic setting allowed us to unplug and connect with nature. We had never experienced anything like this before in all our travels. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They went out of their way to assist us with every request and to make our stay unforgettably memorable. Every morning we had breakfast facing the lush trees, vegetation whilst birds sang amongst us. Our last night in Hacienda Bambusa the staff arranged for live music to be played over dinner, it was straight out of a story book. We truly enjoyed our stay at Hacienda Bambusa. Our next and final destination was Medellin. It was short but sweet. Our tour guide, Juan Camilo Palenque was outstanding and so knowledgeable. Again we felt like we were traveling with a friend. We got to explore "El Poblado" the city's most contemporary district where we got to ride the cable cars. We also explored "Comuna 13" where we met with a graffiti artist who took us around this vibrant and bustling town. There were street vendors, street performers and art galleries that filled the streets. Lastly, we met with Jon "Ballas" aka Bullets, a witness of the Pablo Escobar era. He told of his activities involving the Medellin cartel. It was quite impactful and a surreal experience to sit and listen to his life story of assassin culture in Medellin during the 80s and 90s. Juan Camilo did a great job at translating Jon's riveting story. My husband and I left Colombia wanting for more. It is a country filled with so much history, culture and tradition. We absolutely loved it. This trip exceeded our expectations thanks to the phenomenal work of Lawrence Simon and his A-Team and VIP Journeys Latin America. Instead of taking a few minutes to investigate, Andrew became visibly frustrated that I was asking questions and refused to look into the issue. Throughout the interaction, he was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. When I explained that I didn't realize I needed to remove my old address from my renters policy, instead of simply helping me, he responded, "These are the things that you should just know. We're not responsible for that." That response felt more like a lecture than customer service. I came into the office because I had questions and needed assistance. I wasn't expecting to be talked down to for not knowing something. A customer service representative's job is to help customers resolve issues, not make them feel uncomfortable for asking for help. Fortunately, Blanca later assisted me. She was courteous, professional, and resolved everything--including updating my renters policy--in less than 10 minutes. Her willingness to help highlighted how unnecessary Andrew's attitude was. I hope AAA addresses this because no customer should be treated this way for simply asking questions about their own policy.

Vicki's expertise in every minute detail of our trip was thought out carefully and perfectly executed. For every trip that we have booked with Vicki, she has always advised us to purchase travel insurance. Thank goodness for her insight as our France trip had to be cancelled in March of 2020 due to Covid, we recovered every cent that was prepaid when we cancelled. This summer, we booked a 3 week trip to Italy for our family of five. I knew that I wanted to visit the Puglia region, Amalfi Coast, and Tuscany. Aside from these three general regions, I left it up to Vicki to help decide what cities within these regions to stay. We also wanted to have a car rental to explore but also travel by train because my husband loves to travel by train. Our 3 week journey went seamlessly well. We visited Matera, Bari, Lecce, Positano, Sorrento, Florence, Lake Como and Milan. Vicki made sure our car rental was large enough to fit our five carry ons suitcases and three teenagers for 11 days. Vicki suggested not having a rental car in Lake Como as it's better to use ferries to travel in the area. Our hotels was always centrally located to allow us to walk to restaurants and sights. When we took the train to our next destination, our hotel was within a7-10min walk from the train station. Transfers from train station to hotel was planned, transport from hotel to airport was set in place. Everything that needed to be planned, Vicki was on top of it. From reminding us to renewal our passports to obtaining an international driver license, no stone was left unturned. The best part of working Vicki is that she knows our family likes and dislikes and was able to help us planned a trip that fits our personalities and needs. We did not get a generic itinerary, our itinerary was carefully curated with Vicki's expertise in the region. Our accommodations were top notch, always centrally located, and close to transportation. Even after arriving in the various cities, Vicki was sending restaurant recommendations for each city we were at. It was reassuring to know that she knew where we were while on our trip and that she was a text/call away if needed. I'm grateful to have an amazing travel agent in Vicki. She has made every trip we've had effortless, enjoyable, and memorable. I can't imagine planning a trip without Vicki's assistance. She's truly a gem.
