I found China Travel Services and called to see if they would handle my case since I am going on a domestic trip and would need to have my passport mailed to me in another city. I went to their office, now located in Chinatown SF, and spoke to Apple. She was very understanding and understood my needs. I left my passport with her and she instructed me to contact her when the status changed to submit my passport. Three days later I got the message to submit my passport and immediately contacted Apple. She said they would submit and will mail it to me when returned. One week later it was in the mail and returned to me with a new Chinese visa. Very appreciate the help and would recommend this service.

Besides drinks and snacks this cute little visitors center offers maps, books, and other fun gift ideas like cutting boards and playing cards. What's even cooler is the history inside. There are display cases with historic artifacts, historical depictions of the area and even a sculpture from the original Sutro Gardens. The staff is all very knowledgeable and friendly. One of the stand out sections is these little cubes where they feature post cards that visitors can make art on or write their memories and submit for the display. With clear views of Sutro baths from both inside and outside this mini museum is a great place to take a break whether I'm hiking up the lands end trail or walking the beach. The bathrooms are always clean and there is a water fill up station outside.

There are two lots. We looked at the lower lot and didn't see anything. We didn't know about the upper lot till we went hiking around. We did luck out and found a spot near the local hotel. Only two hour parking, but that was enough time for us. We parked across from the bus stop, so if you are looking for parking, drive a block or so off from the main lot into the housing district. After we parked we walked a little bit to the Sutro District sign. All the streets have cross walks and buttons to push so you can get the cross walk going. When you hit the Sutro District sign you come upon several trails that take you to lands end lookout. We followed the longer trail and had a good walk. What a view. With the fog free day you can see the Golden Gate Bridge Clearly. We took some fabulous pictures. The only thing is you can barley see the bridge in the distance in our pictures. It's a tiny speck, but when you look with the naked eye you can see it as if it's right there. It's an optical illusion. This is a place I'd love to come back to and hike around more. There are plenty more trails to explore.

It was a lengthy process to get visas done, book plane & train tickets, and have private tour guides in 2-3 months time. But they made it happen! All accommodations were clean and modern except for Beijing. But when we mentioned it to Elaine about the condition of the room, she took care of the situation and we were moved to a better room the next day. Make note that many hotel upper floors are better maintained compared to the lower floors in China. Each city had an AYCE breakfast buffet that was beautifully presented and prepared. We were definitely well nourished and fed for trekking and sightseeing! In Beijing, we saw the Forbidden City, climbed the Great Wall, walked around the Hutong area and had great food. In X'ian, we saw the Terracotta Warriors and the excavation site and museum. Managed to find a good spot near our hotel that had crispy Roujaimo (Chinese hamburger). And we found thick winter coats for only $20 USD! What a steal! And with the snow unexpectedly falling while we were there, it was necessary! In Shanghai, we explored the city, saw Yu Garden area, saw the LV flagship store and a huge Starbucks, one of seven in the world, where you see the production of coffee beans being roasted. We visited a few shopping malls to purchase perfume and make-up as well. In this city, there's an unusual combination of beautiful modern skyscrapers along side Chinese and European architecture. In Chongqing, we entered ancient caves with rock carved buddhas, saw stone bridges made from nature, experienced city life where they built the city in levels going upward rather than miles across. Honestly, I'd get lost since GPS couldn't tell you what level you are on! So glad we had a tour guide and driver who knew the city well! It saved us time and energy since we did not have to navigate ourselves. And with a language barrier, it would have made it even more difficult. All our gratitude goes to Star Vacation for creating and planning the itinerary for us. It was a fast-paced trip only staying in each city for just 2-3 days each. Our trip was exactly 2 weeks and it ended in Hong Kong, where we explored it ourselves. It was an expensive trip, but it was experience of a lifetime and truly memorable. We wouldn't hesitate asking Elaine and Melody to plan another trip in the near future!

We should have been forewarned when the travel agent was not only rude in our business dealings, but obviously knew nothing about travel. Oh, let me count the ways: 1) She submitted the incorrect entry visa which cost us hundreds of dollars and multiple international phone calls to fix so that we could re-enter. 2) We asked her on multiple occasions to ensure our passports (which were due to expire early next year) were good for the trip. It wasn't until we were due to departure from one country to the next that we were informed our passports were not valid for entry. 3) The itinerary she provided us listed a different flight than what our tour guide had which caused much confusion. How basic is this??? And even worse, the itinerary she sent after we booked listed the wrong country!!! We left it up to the travel agent to plan this trip. After all, that's why they're there and licensed--but who @#$% knew that I would've been better off if I had let monkeys book my trip?!?!?? If it even crosses your mind, just don't. Trust me.

I got into a strange situation with 1 Stop Travel…read more I received an email confirming my flight to Hawaii for the following week. I wasn't going to Hawaii. After ruling out that it wasn't a bday gift, an April fool's joke, or a stalker, I went to the airline directly to look at the flight reservation- booked by 1 stop travel. So I called 1 stop and they told me they did not know what I was talking about and that they did not send me any email. (and then hung up on me) I called the airline to ask why I was going to Hawaii with another passenger on the res that I didn't know. They said Sorry! 1 stop travel booked this flight and we don't know anything. Really?! Nothing?! So I called 1 stop travel AGAIN wanting to know how they had gotten hold of my personal information. Finally we determined that they used my frequent flyer number by mistake (?!) somehow, even though the day before they knew nothing of the situation. 2 days and 10 phone calls later I got everything cleared up! Annoying!
