I have used Travel Wizards off an on since booking my honeymoon...17+ years ago. Magda is my "go to" for places I've never been and have no idea how to get around...or when there are just too many moving parts and I don't have the time to figure it out. When we had no idea where to go for our honeymoon, she suggested an all inclusive in St. Lucia, which was a very relaxing trip after planning a very large and hectic wedding. It was just what we needed. When I wanted to go on a cruise but felt very nervous (I get sea sick VERY easily), I went back to Magda to ask for her suggestions. This time around I wanted to visit Portugal, so she booked me on an 11-day tour with Trafalgar and arranged all the flights and transfers to and from the hotel. Every time I've used Travel Wizards, I was pleased with my trips and the attention to the detail that I've received. Magda reminds of the little details that need to get done before my trip, like choosing seats for my flights (- oops did I not do that?) and always has answers to all my travel questions such as, "Is there anything I can do to prevent getting sea sick?", "Do I need a visa?", "Should I exchange dollars for the local currency?" Melissa and her team at Travel Wizards are wonderful. When the pandemic hit, she helped us cancel a trip overseas and regain all our money. A process which took months. When travel was open again we worked with her on a trip to Greece early May 2022. We ran into medical issues and she changed our trip and succeeded in getting the same airfare and a much nicer room on the ship. The amount of work Melissa and her team was over the top Travel Wizards response to calls and emails is quick and usually resolved with in a day. She not only books the flight and the (in our case) the ships she helps with excursions, water taxi's, transfers to and from airports, as well as any problem that may arise. Our trip to Greece was our 5th trip with Travel Wizards and we will continue to use Melissa as long as we can. They are a family company with family values. My husband and I booked our honeymoon to Indonesia through Melissa at Travel Wizards and had an amazing time! Reasons why they deserve 5 stars: 1. Melissa's responsiveness to emails and text is super quick. Appreciate this very much because leading up to the trip we had random questions to ask her and she always got back to us in a timely manner. 2. The booking process was very simple. We told Melissa what our budget was, what we were looking to do (adventure vs beach bum), and dates we wanted to travel. She said no problem and within a few days came up with three different itineraries for us to choose from with varying levels of activities to do. 3. Traveling to a foreign country is time consuming to research and daunting and Melissa took all the stress out of it. She took care of all the little details such as restaurant reservations, early hotel check in, room upgrades, setting up tours, private cars with a/c to pick us up everywhere, pick up and drop off at airports since we flew around Indonesia,etc. She even made us each a package with our flight tickets and itinerary info in a small cute bag which we could carry around while there! 4. She gave us great advice on what to pack (ex. best insect repellent), spas to try, food to eat, best form of communication to use while overseas, etc. She suggested we download WhatsApp and she gave us her cell # so we can reach her for anything while in Indonesia. This was perfect because our departure from SFO was delayed by an hour and we missed our connection in Singapore to Bali. We messaged Melissa on WhatsApp and she contacted the agency who was picking us up and let them know the new time we would arrive in Bali. 5. Melissa checked in with us prior, during, and even after our trip to see how things were going and if we needed anything. That truly shows how much she cares and invests in her clients to ensure the best level of service. Customer service from Travel Wizards is top notch; I HIGHLY recommend booking with them. I seldom write reviews but when I find something or someone that is really good, I owe to the community to share what I have discovered -- the importance of a good travel agent. Especially, when you are in a situation. So, here it is. Dominique, from Travel Wizard, is my goto travel agent., we have worked with her for several years already. She is reliable, responsive and for air tickets, will give us several options with prices and routes to choose from. But what I also discovered is that she is there to help me out of situations. I had a situation after our Egypt trip in Dec 2022. When our plane landed in NY from Cairo, Dominique called to tell me that our flight from NY to Toronto was canceled due to a severe snow storm and the airport was closed. She asked me what I wanted to do. We decided to go home. So she quickly booked us on the next available flight to SF that leaves in 25 minutes. She instructed us to immediately go to the ticket counter and check in our baggages because the boarding gate was closing soon. The challenge was that from where we were to the ticket counter, we had to take an airport shuttle bus and then an inter terminal train. Anyhow, we managed to get to the gate just on time. The flight crew immediately closed the plane door after we boarded. Without Dominique, I cannot imagine how I will search on Expedia for the flight, book it and rush to the ticket counter. I am so happy to have Dominique as my travel agent and I also realize how useful and important to have her when I am in a situation. We met Magda at Travel Wizards several months ago to plan our honeymoon. We wanted to go to a place where we would see clear waters, swim with stingrays, truly relax, and be away from a city's hustle and bustle. Initially my husband and I thought of perhaps the Caribbean, Thailand, or somewhere in French Polynesia (which we thought would be impossible since we heard that it was crazy expensive). After setting our honeymoon budget, Magda suggested Moorea in French Polynesia. Magda helped us book a 6 night stay at the Intercontinental where we were able to experience 3 nights in a garden bungalow with a private plunge pool, and another 3 nights in an over the water bungalow where we were able to snorkel right off of our deck. She arranged for all the transportation and transfers which included 3 legs from SFO (SFO to LAX, LAX to Tahiti, ferry to IC). Magda communicated very promptly with us throughout the planning process. She even made sure that we would get our honeymoon package with complimentary gifts! We were fortunate enough to work with Angela Nielsen, who we were referred to by our friend (a retired event planning executive for Visa). This travel agency was strongly recommended by a friend who has been using them for years now. I left a message for Magda, the owner and she called me back the next morning! She was attentive, took detailed information (we needed her to book our honeymoon) and promised to call the very next day with a variety of quotes. That is where the good customer service ends. I was supposed to hear from her on Thursday but would have been OK to hear from her by Friday. By Friday afternoon, I called her and left a message. An assistant called me back, stating that Magda was very busy and would call me on Monday. That was a little bit of a turn off but I can understand if she was slammed with work. Monday came and I heard nothing. And that's how it went for the rest of the week. By the following Friday, I was ticked because this was not the (lack of) customer service I expected. I called and was told Magda was busy. I left a message asking her if she intended to work with us, one last ditch effort because she came so highly recommended. She never called me back. As I mentioned, my friend has had great luck with the Travel Wizards. But I cannot recommend their services. We ended up booking our honeymoon through Costco.com (and getting a great deal!) and booking our flights through priceline.com read more

Dominique was amazing! She helped us "navigate" through the different options and cruise lines available. We had our hearts set on Royal Caribbean, and she helped us find the right package that suited our needs. We had a great time our AMAWaterways trip to Vietnam and Cambodia, in spite of the hot and humid weather. As expected, AMAwaterways took good care of us, from meeting us around 11PM at the airport, to getting us back for our 7:30 AM return flight. I was most impressed with the variety of things we saw on this trip: we visited villages and homes in both Vietnam and Cambodia, saw temples and monasteries in both countries, and learned a lot about the history and conflicts in both countries. We vIsited detention/prison facilities in both countries, as well as the killing fields in Cambodia and Viet Cong hideouts in Vietnam. We even had one of our guides facilitate a tuk-tuk trip for me and Paul to go geocaching while the rest of the group shopped in the market in Cambodia. Perhaps a highlight was the 2 days/1 night we spent on a separate ship on HaLong Bay. What a special place! I would recommend this trip to anyone who has not done it. read more

Leslie Courts bent over backwards to help me make arrangements that are too crazy to even go into.She was keenly aware of the time sensitivity and the fact that he was traveling with two young children. Jim in their accounting office was professional and pleasant requesting the necessary information for ticketing. They've been around for years even in this internet age and there's a reason for that. I've also used Angela to book my honeymoon travel and she was wonderful too. Point being everyone they are experienced in the ways of travel booking. The Galapagos Islands was a "Bucket List" adventure for us, and the plan was to go in 2022. This was the worst experience using this travel agency. Beware!!! They are friendly at first but does not take accountability for their mistakes and takes forever to resolve after many followup phone calls to correct the issues. The names on the documents were incorrect even after handing them our passports twice. The connecting flights over lapped so we would have never made our connecting flights if I hadn't reviewed my travel documents. I was taking my parents to Europe for their first time. No apologies for countless mistakes they had made and even worse blaming a third party vendor. I couldn't cancel without a penalty so I had to be endure at their mercy that they would do the right thing. It was a simple trip to Italy. Throughout this process it caused a great amount of stress and we booked a year ahead of the date of departure. The issue of the name corrections were resolved 72 hours before scheduled departure. I would not recommend using this service. I recently returned from my first big trip in another country (Thailand) after using Travel Wizards. I was reluctant to plan the trip on my own since I was going for two weeks and had never booked something this big before. My boyfriend and I wanted to travel the country from top to bottom, so there were several moving pieces. I did a quick yelp search for a travel agent in my area and this is the first company that popped up. There were great reviews and so I gave Magda a shot. Booking with her was a bit off to say the least. She kept forgetting details and communicating with me in all caps over email. She wasn't following the direction that I wanted but decided that since she did so much work I would just go with it and see how the trip went. After getting there and doing research on the hotels that we were at we saw that the prices were dirt cheap but we had paid significantly higher through the travel agency. She knew that we were a couple staying in a room together and our room at one hotel ended up having twin beds. When I lost something she acted very annoyed to help me (I don't speak the language or have contact with the places booked, she did - so I obviously needed help). Magda even accidentally forwarded me an email during the time essentially saying to someone: it's her problem, have her call around. Wow! That bag I lost cost me $2,500 and she wasn't happy to help me. One of the drivers through the partnership they have there actually crashed a car that I was in while I was there. Overall I had fun but would recommend that you save your money and book your own trip or use another agency. It wasn't worth the additional funds to go through this company. Maybe if the trip was planned better or the customer service was better. Stay away! read more

We're so glad we used Travel Wizards - Magda's assistance was unparalleled and customized a honeymoon to fit our needs! Our honeymoon in Thailand and Bali was FANTASTIC! It was a perfect balance of being able to see the cultures and learn about the religion, people, food, etc. but also provided us sufficient down-time to recharge our batteries by the beach. We've never been on a trip where we had private tour-guides at our disposal; it made us feel like we've really missed out before on visiting other countries in not being able to ask all the questions / get all the background information to truly understand the places and cultures we've visited. The tour guides in Thailand and Bali were absolutely fantastic - we definitely want to go this route for all our future international travels. The places in which we stopped gave us a good balance (of temples, outdoor/activities, scenic places, shopping, etc.). The highlights on activities definitely included snorkeling, white-water rafting, and a cooking class. Needless to say, the drivers saved our lives (literally); we couldn't have imagined getting around safely otherwise. The accommodations in Thailand were absolutely spectacular - at each place we stayed, we felt like we were in a mansion or private villa and got significant honeymoon room upgrades at each instance . The accommodations in Bali were also great (high end equivalent to US hotel), but I think the Thailand hotels were a step beyond. After this experience, I think it's going to be really difficult to go back to how we've been vacationing before. We really look forward to working with Magda and Travel Wizards on our next international vacation!
