I never review hotels / motels even though I travel a lot. I usually stay in the big named chains because I know what to expect. This was an unplanned stop so I didn't have a reservation. I also avoid patronage to foreign owned lodging as it's often dirty, smelly and unkept and the owners never seem to take any pride in their business. Having said that, I was extremely surprised and satisfied with Travelers Inn. The staff was excellent at check in and I later met the owner who was extremely helpful and courteous. The facility and the room were extremely clean and well maintained. It was like going back in time when the family owned motels were safe, clean and friendly. I can't remember the last time I stayed at a motel. I always associated these places with crime, drug needles, and disease. Coming to Brunswick on a holiday weekend I had very little options, plus I was planning to be gone out of the room the entire time. So this place appeared to be the best option available at a reasonable price. I arrived around 10pm and was greeted kindly by the lady behind the desk. I immediately felt like I was in the Netflix series "Schitts Creek"! This was a positive for me. I entered my room and immediately felt like I was young and staying at my grandparents house. The room is small, basic and dated, BUT it was amazingly cleaned and cared for. The previous night I had stayed at the Detroit Airport Embassy Suites. Travelers Inn beat out the latter by a hundred points. The room was hot, but when I turned on the AC it had cooled the room in 5 minutes. My only minor areas of suggested improvement would be the quality of the towels. Honestly, prison towels are more luxurious (or so I've been told). There is a continental breakfast in the office. It's very basic. However, if your a simple breakfast type of person who just needs coffee and a bite, this is perfect. This place is located about a mile from the Brunswick Amtrak Station, which is about a 20 minute walk with a rolling suitcase. Enterprise car rental, McDonalds and a few restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. I felt safe here. Overall this place worthy of 5 yelp stars. It is the appropriate rating for a "motel". Stevie Budd and Johnny Rose would be proud of this motel. Good job staff!!! read more

Although this is an older motel it has been fully renovated is very clean and reasonably priced. Good location and safe. If you don't want a huge sit down breakfast they have a nice selection of fruit, pastries, yogurt, cereal, juice and coffee to just grab and go. They made allowances for our late arrival to insure we had access to our room. All we had to do was call and let them know. They were very accommodating. Close to grocery, nice restaurants and only 30 minutes from Portland. If not looking for a luxury suite this is perfect. Would stay there again. read more

We ended up with a flat tire on our way home to Mass. Needed a place to stay. No need for any bells and whistles. This suited our needs. Clean! Breakfast was ample. I like it when we can park our car right outside our room! I would highly recommend this motel. read more

We had a good stay here in mid August. We are normally fans of a competitor of theirs, however they were booked up so we reserved a night here albeit reluctantly. That said we were pleasantly surprised. Check in was okay, but I had to sign a few disclaimers about not smoking pot, etc. I will just say about this, why not just say "no smoking of any kind". I say this because as an adult, it feels condescending to check off 3 separate things when you just want to get into your room. I'm sure you shouldn't grill in your room either, but whatever...it was the one of two things that bothered me that I wish they could find a better way to deal with. When I go to my usual place they great me warmly and I feel welcome. This felt less pleasant. The room, parking lot and bathroom were all immaculate. If I could find one place for improvement, it would be the carpeting. It's very dated and seems like it's been through some stuff lol. The beds were very good, pillows were nice and the tv is large. Oh the fridge is a good size too. The bath products were nice...towels were a bit older, but hotels tend to lean towards that. They get a lot of use. The vending machine was empty. There is one washer and dryer (older) and an ice machine across from check in. They weren't honoring continental breakfast during Covid...which isn't huge for us as we LOVE Mr Bagel down the road. We spend a lot of our Maine trips in and around Brunswick. We have friends that live very close and as such, we will add this place to our list of options when we plan a trip. It seems like the owners take pride in the place and I feel like with some tiny modifications this could become the "go-to place" in Brunswick. It's not fancy, but it's clean and very functional. I would be happy here as a solo traveler, a couple or a small family. Brunswick is a great location if you want to take day trips up the coast or down to Portland. Extremely clean, great price, friendly owners, designated smoking area outside... I would stay here again and again. First impressions driving in are topically not that great as it's right in the city, but once you actually look around and then see your room it's wonderful. I spent 2 nights and never worried about myself or the car... they have security cameras everywhere and everyone I talked to in the 2 days at the city said there is virtually no crime in the area. Yes the room had a fridge, microwave, coffee pot bla bla bla, did I mention how clean it was! Even the carpet didn't dirty white socks and not a single water spot on the bathroom fixtures, toilet was obviously sanitary too. You can easily tell that the owners have class and care about their hotel. It was very much appreciated after a long day of driving. Oh, and the baseboard heat worked extremely well! read more

Room was very clean, spacious, and had all the amenities I needed. There was a nice and quiet working A/C, a Fridge, a microwave and a dining table. The only thing about the fridge was it was all the way off / on low coldness, so if you need it, be sure to turn it on and cold as soon as you get into your room. The bathroom was big enough too, and stocked properly and clean. The property was clean and convenient. Check in and Check out was quick and painless. Parking was plentiful (and safe). The pillows were very comfortable but after the night sleep my neck wouldn't move and the bed wasn't too comfortable. perhaps just too stiff for my liking. The continental breakfast was standard/normal for what you would expect, but the coffee was awful. it was made from a machine, but not brewed, and instead dispensed at time you press the button. I couldn't even drink it, but luckily there is many places nearby to get a good cup of joe. Overall, I would stay again and recommend. Good quiet safe Stay for a great price. read more

An older, clean, comfortable motel- conveniently located. This is NOT the place to spend the day lounging in a pool, hot tub or gym. Those things are not available here. This IS the place to provide rest and a home base to launch you, refreshed and satisfied with their Continental breakfast each morning. The office staff is friendly and helpful, the House keeping team always had our room neat and tidy. We suggest you visit Bowden College and it's museums before branching out to the fantastic seashore tours and museums available within a short drive. Feel free to ask older locals where to eat seafood and the college kids about coffee shops, pizza ,etc.. The seafood is fresh, but not inexpensive, don't waste money in a fancy " tourist trap" restaurant . Portland is a short drive-- and offers many- many tours, restaurants and sights to see. Ending up here was a happy accident. I wanted a place near Bath that was reasonably priced, and found Travelers Inn in nearby Brunswick for about half the price of anything else I'd seen. It was everything I needed, and then some. First of all, it is the cleanest hotel/motel I think I've ever stayed in - even the parking lot looked like it had been freshly blacktopped. The room was large and comfortable, and, again, incredibly clean. The people in the front office were all friendly and efficient, the bed was comfortable, the TV was large and had 40+ channels, the AC worked beautifully, and there was plenty of hot water and ice. There was even a laundry room with $1.00 loads, if I'd wanted to do laundry. (I didn't.) I'd have given it the full five stars if there hadn't been a somewhat oily/chemical feel to the carpet when I walked on it barefoot, as if it had just been cleaned and hadn't quite dried.
