This is a family run, small facility close to town, Hult Centre, McKenzie River, UO campus. I have stay several times and will return due to aspects that appeal to me: Rooms and bathrooms are clean, avoid of odors, spacious, very comfortable beds, and friendly welcoming staff. Each room has unique fabrics and look with adequate amenities: extra pillows, towels, toiletries, coffee & maker, refrigerator, desk, chair, comfy seating, windows that open, heating/cooling, working TV, ample lighting. Considering the central location, its been primarily quiet with off-street safe parking. As a single guest I feel safe and comfortable here. While staying at the Traverer's Inn, I have walked to and from UO campus, Matthew Knight Arena, Hult Center, WOW Hall, numerous coffee spots, eateries and wholesome groceries stores. We stayed at Travelers Inn in Eugene for 4 days during Nike Nationals, and it was absolutely fantastic! The location is perfect -- just minutes from the University of Oregon campus, Hayward Field, and even a Whole Foods. It made everything incredibly convenient during a busy meet weekend. The rooms were spotless, quiet, and very comfortable -- a great place to relax after long days at the track. But what really stood out was the staff. Truly some of the kindest, most welcoming people we've ever met. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and asked my daughter how her meet went. If you're coming to Eugene for a meet, campus visit, or just to explore the area, we highly, highly recommend Travelers Inn. We'll definitely be back! read more

Legitimately the worst room I've ever not stayed in. Staff was nice enough, but refused to refund me after I saw the disgusting condition that the room was in: black grease stains on the pillows, old blood stains on the sheets, giant tears in the sofa, musty smelling room, non-functioning AC unit, and worst of all...no pillow protectors. The pillows REEKED of sweat. I left and drove an hour and a half up to Portland and stayed in a different hotel. And guess what? Despite not even staying the night, they wouldn't refund me the cost of the room and after contacting them the following the day, claimed the reason was that I stayed the night. You'd have to PAY me to stay at this hotel: and that number would have to be 4 digits long. DO NOT waste your money by staying here. There are MUCH better options within three blocks for the same price. read more

It was once good. I used to stay here every year for the rhododendron festival. This year they lost my reservation. It usually takes a few years to lock one of these in.... Got the the location and we had to wait for someone too come help the front desk person to check us in. Then we got checked in and we where told that we have to move our car to another parking lot else where? We have a company box truck and we can not just leave it in a random lot where we cannot see or hear the truck if the alarm went off. Not too confident in the door that separates us from other patrons as the little knob looks to be from the late 80's. I would recommend finding another hotel if you can, even if it cost more. This motel was very dirty, it doesn't look like they clean very often. Also there is not enough parking for the amount of rooms they have. I went to to get ice and was approached by the manager asking if he could help me. I let him know that I was staying here and he apologized but still it's pretty sad when you have to keep watch on your ice. And they tried to tell me I can't fill my cooler up after paying $140 a night for this dump. I don't recommend staying here unless you absolutely have to. The place is a total dump, I wouldn't pay $50 a night for this room, the only reason I stayed here is because I've been on the road for a month and needed to get out of my truck. On the bright side there is a 7-11 next door but that is about the only plus to this motel. The only reason it got one star is because Yelp won't let me go lower on the rating. read more

Excellent location to rest for an evening in Eugene. For about $60 we had a decent little room (w mini fridge, coffee thing, etc) within walking distance to the university, downtown, and most importantly, right next door to 7-11. We'd picked out a handful of places to check out for lodging in the area but between the warmth of the gentleman at the front desk, the price, and the location, we were happy to end our search here. We were excited about partaking in the complimentary continental breakfast before we hit the road the next day but forgot about it until we practically in Salem. read more

Manager was friendly and smiling, and the location is excellent. During business travel, I've stayed in $400 rooms, and I never really understand what I'm paying for - is coordinated decor worth $330? Per night? This is a great place to stay if you are looking to experience mold, peeling paint, stained sheets, and a great night sleep. Pros: the bed was the most comfortable that we had slept on in a long time. We all woke up feeling very well rested. The staff were all very sweet. Cons: It was incredibly dingy and dirty. The hotel is old and in major need of a remodel. We booked a room with two queen size beds. The room smelled musty and the comforters were old and needed to be replaced. The whole room needed a thorough cleaning. When I stepped into the bathroom I was absolutely horrified. It was not ventilated so there was mold and peeling paint all over the ceiling. We checked under the bed and found lots of dust bunnies and trash along with a previous traveler's toiletry bag. The sheets on my bed had lipstick stains. Because we booked on Expedia, we were unable to get our money back. I ended up going to the local Wal Mart and purchased a blanket so that I didn't have to sleep on dirty sheets. True story. I had to book this hotel for a work conference and we booked three rooms. All three rooms had multiple complaints. It was a little strange that one of the rooms had skull and cross bone sheets. Not a turnoff to us but I can imagine it may be a shock to others. None of us would stay here again. Although I would buy one of the same beds. And put it in my own room. Very far away from this MOTEL. It honestly looks like a place that could be rented by the hour. read more

Except for the college students yelling to each other outside at night & 5 am and no discount for a room without hot water for a shower, this motel could have been adequate. The service for restaurant help and more pillows was good. The owner gave us a discount on one room for the yelling but not for the cold water in the other room. When it's hot outside, ask for a cooler room in the wing parallel to the street. Good luck on the hot shower. We stayed the next night at the River View Inn for sleep, food, hot tub, pool, lounge areas and all around excellent service. read more

I don't know why this place has good reviews on other travel sites/hotel booking sites. I checked a family member into this place for a one night stay. Although the hotel is very close to downtown, Whole Foods and some restaurants it really needs some help. Check in was easy but once we got into the room we could see the lack of attention to detail and basic amenities. The towels were stained, there was trash under the desk, the comforter was stained, the bed was uncomfortable, the pillows were very flat and the furniture in the room looked like it had been picked up off of the side of the road. After one night we left and got a way better room for not that much more at the Hilton. If you just need a place to sleep and you don't care about cleanliness or low quality amenities then you might be fine staying here. We definitely won't be back. read more

I've been doing a road trip from LA to Seattle and staying in a bunch of budget motels. This one was clean, spacious, and best of all had fast internet (i.e. I could actually watch netflix)!! My room had a couch and coffee table, sink in the room, mini-fridge, and microwave. The bed was pretty comfortable. The motel 6's and other no-name motels I've been staying in have had the worst internet ever and I even had to pay for it at one of the Motel 6s. I'm not looking for much out of a cheap motel but it's so nice to get internet that works. The location of this motel was great, right in between downtown and the U of Oregon campus, about a 15 minute walk to either. It's not exactly situated on the nicest street on earth, and it's right next to a 7-11, but what do you expect from a cheap motel? The room was quiet and there was plenty of parking. I was worried that I would be checking into a stand up closet or something. but aside from the gooseneck shower inside the stall, which at times felt like a spray attached to a kitchen sink, this room was pretty nice. I would like to address the quality of the comforter on the bed for a moment...it was nice. LIKE 100 % pure cotton. thicker and fuller than the sheets on the bed....which some might find flattering or scary. my mini refridgerator did not have ice in the freezer compartment, but again...totally nice room. read more

Was introuced to this place due to an unfortunate circumstance, haven't seen a place like this in years. My Father and I traveled when I was younger, I have no memories of a place like this. I don't know if sleezy poop hole is acceptable language here, but that's what I'll run with. Was given a room that doubled as a storage closet, roll away beds and the like littered the room. This hotel was a bad experience to deal with ever since I tried to make a reservation. Me and our friends stayed here for a concert at the Cuthbert Amphitheater. I called the hotel a couple weeks before to make a reservation, I got my confirmation number and I verified everything with the person on the phone. When I arrived they told me there was no reservation under my name, I even had a confirmation email but they said they still had never made my reservation in the first place? The person checking us in was very rude from the beginning and was very unprofessional. The rooms were pretty gross, I don't expect much from a motel but they had a $100 deposit and told me I wouldn't receive that back until they checked our room in the morning, which I had never heard of before. When the manager was checking our room for checkout he accused us of smoking in the room when there was someone smoking outside our door all night before, and also accused us of having extra people in our room because someone was parked in front of our room? It was strange and he even tried to not give our deposit back because he thought someone else was staying in our room and had no evidence of it at all. I understand these policies are set in place to protect the motel but we had cleaned the room and everything before we checked out and it was just absurd for the manager to accuse us of such ridiculous things. It was a bad experience all around and I would never come back here. The Phoenix inn is a much better stay for almost the same price and it was so much more cleaner. The only reason we didn't stay there is because they were booked for the night and we didn't book fast enough. read more

Service at the travelers in was outstanding. The owner went out of his way to greet us every morning at breakfast and to help us with tips and advice on things to do in the area. On the Fourth of July he cooked chicken in the parking lot for all of the guests who were staying at the Inn and watching the fireworks over Autzen stadium. The Inn was a 20 minute walk from the U of O campus and located near several restaurants and a grocery store. Each room on the second floor had its own balcony which was very nice for just relaxing in the evening. The room was spacious and came with a fridge and microwave. read more

I needed a clean safe place to sleep while exhibiting at Art and the Vineyard in Alton Baker Park. The bed was comfortable and there was a free continental breakfast and free parking. We stayed three days, and I was very pleasantly surprised. For a bargain-basement price we got a very comfortable room with a small refrigerator, microwave, loveseat, balcony, and usable WiFi. It's an older building, but it's been well-maintained and updated. The room was very clean. The street was a bit noisy, but we could hardly hear the traffic in our second-floor room when we closed the window. I met the proprietor in the office, and he seemed like a very nice fellow. The burrito restaurant a couple doors down has a very tasty bean burrito. We'll definitely stay here again the next time we're in Eugene. read more

I have literally never in my life stayed in a worse hotel, and I've hostel-hopped across Europe and South America. Not only was the room cramped, dirty and ill-lit, but the proprietor was rude, nosey and inconsiderate. We entered the hotel room to find barely enough floor space to stand, trash on the bathroom floor, the shower covered in scum, and to top it off a half smoked cigarette in the bedside table drawer. The TV didn't work, the microwave was broken, the fridge barely functional and the general aesthetic of the room was cheap and grimy. We had to pay 85$ a night for this dump, and it all would have been forgiven if the owner was friendly and apologetic for the mess. However, when I was trying to check out, the man who I assume was the manager was unbelievably rude to me. I couldn't find one of the room keys, so he made me follow him back to the room and stood there ordering me to search for it. He said he needed to check the room to make sure we hadn't smoked, or broken other rules that he would have to charge us for. He questioned me repeatedly, saying that I had had an unregistered guest staying with me, and didn't believe me when I said I didn't. Finally, after I returned the keys and answered all his questions, he tried to charge me for late check out, even though a woman at the front desk had told me it was fine earlier that day. He grabbed 20 dollars out of my hand, and then gave it back without apologizing when he realized I'd gotten permission for a late check out. When I told him about the half smoked cigarette in the room and the broken microwave he didn't offer any sort of apology or partial refund. All in all, I would have been happier sleeping in my car. I will be getting checked for bed bugs and lice promptly. read more

If I could give this place a 0 I would. This is the WORST place I have EVER stayed. Online the cost was $60, but when I checked in I was charged $72, and when I questioned what the $12 difference was the owner tried to take the key back out of my hand and told me if I wasn't happy I couldn't stay there. Then he proceeded to accuse me of having extra people stay in my room just because I had friends meeting me at the hotel to go to a concert with me that was just down the street. The place is a dump. There's broken furniture and trash in every corridor and crammed into any vacant space on the property. That night when we returned from the concert the owner was waiting in the parking lot and started ranting and raving that we were trying to have extra people stay in the room without getting charged (this must happen a lot, I'm assuming) and threatened to call the police if my friends that were kind enough to give us a ride back to the hotel after the concert didn't leave immediately. Seriously worst customer service I've ever experienced, save yourself the headache and go somewhere, ANYWHERE else then here! read more
