On April 10, our company (5 of us) stopped here in Eugene during a road trip to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm and picked this Hyatt expecting the usual reliable quality. Check-in was smooth, and the staff member who greeted us was genuinely pleasant and cool, giving us some extra water and few green bags of goodies (returned the next day), promising to wave the parking fee. That's where the positives ended. After a long drive, we dropped our bags in da rooms and went out for a dinner without inspecting our rooms a bit closely. When we returned later that night and checked the beds with a UV light, we were shocked to find stains on both beds. It was darn disturbing (photos attached)! We went down to the front desk to report it. The night staff told us there was no one available to change the linens and no other rooms available to change at full occupancy. Instead, we were handed a set of sheets and sent back to deal with it ourselves. After 10 PM, exhausted, we had no real choice but to accept it. In the morning, we raised the issue again with the new front desk rep. The replacement sheets were not much better, and despite our complaint, the response was limited to verbal apologies only. We were still charged full price for the night, plus a $20 parking fee for overfilled parking lot that's essentially had open access from the street. This is not the level of cleanliness or service expected from a Hyatt. Do your due diligence and do not assume standards are being met. Check your room carefully before settling in. Breakfast on the other hand was great! Variety of eggs, milks and healthy choices beat other Hyatt locations we stated at the next day in Portland. Overall, good experience. Great location near a mall and Trader Joe's. Convenient (though not free) parking. Friendly staff. The breakfast was good and they had vegetarian sausage and bacon which I have never seen in a complimentary hotel breakfast! Only complaint is that when I didn't want my room cleaned, they put a weird note on my door and came in anyway. Clean rooms, modern, friendly staff, good location but THE SLOWEST ELEVATORS ON EARTH (with no stairs options). I'm from NYC where some buildings have golden age elevators with the accordion gate and they are lightning speed by comparison. Their breakfast (not free) had almond milk and oat milk as well as vegan sausage, which was surprising and awesome. They also had the most variety of oatmeal toppings I've ever seen (dehydrated strawberries and chia seeds, for example). Bar and patio is nice but pricey (18$ for an old fashioned). The beyond slow elevators ruined the stay. We went on a dead weekend. Cannot imagine how bad it is during a home game or parents weekend. There are only 2 elevators, only 1 seems to be in use, and it is also shared with housekeeping. It took 17 minutes to get to my room and back for my cell phone that i had accidentally left behind. Been here a handful of times now. Never any major issues, plenty of space in the rooms, on site restaurant and bar with outdoor patio/dining on 5th floor, indoor pool and hot tub. Having status here helps too, free parking instead of $19/nt... this time they even had a thank you goody for me at checkin, thanking us for being globalist. It's nothing flashy or baller, but it's affordable and consistently clean and has on site private, secured parking. A decent, simple complimentary breakfast and late checkout available (status perk) has helped make this our Eugene go to. read more

We have stayed here twice now, both times one night each. It is located fairly close to the University campus which is nice if you are visiting for that. This most recent time was a bit of a let down due to them being pretty much sold out with track and field competition. This meant that breakfast seating was very limited, and the 2 elevators are not nearly enough. The rooms are comfy and clean, and staff was nice. Breakfast was basic and included, but parking was a small charge (which you share with the shopping complex). Overall a good stay, just wish there were more elevators and the breakfast area seating was bigger. read more

Our one bedroom suite was very spacious and comfortable for our family of four, which included a baby and a dog. We booked this hotel because of the kitchen and dining area. It was only a partial kitchen with a mini fridge, but it was just what we needed with plenty of counter space. The bathroom was big. We liked the comfy king bedroom. The big windows had nice views of the colorful autumn leaves that we're not used to seeing in Los Angeles. The suite had three TVs. It's located in the Oakway Center so there are various shops and dining options, which we didn't have time to check out. We just got dinner from the hotel bar. The menu is basic, but the wings and grilled cheese were comforting and satisfying after a long drive. There was also a complimentary breakfast. My family loved this hotel especially my dog. Everything was clean with a very nice and helpful staff. Our stay in Eugene was brief, and this was our pit stop before Portland. We stayed in five different hotels during our recent road trip, and this was our favorite. This exceeded our expectations, and everything was 5 stars. read more

Starbucks, chevron, Trader Joe's, wine, bars, etc.. 3 tv's in the room Coffee in room Microwave Refrigerator Con's Thin walls are thin we heard upstairs neighbors cell phone ring, them walking, talking, doors open and close. We stayed at Hyatt Place Eugene recently, and I found it both comfortable and reasonably priced. Tip: This Hyatt Place is very conveniently located; it's close to shopping (Lululemon, Nordstrom Rack, etc), an Albertson's, and there's a Chevron gas station close at hand The staffers we interacted with were very personable and friendly. Our room was spacious and clean, with two queen-size beds. The things about the room that made it less than ideal were low water pressure, and a very slow drain in the bath/shower. Back in the plus column, The parking is free & it's in a covered parking structure with security patrolling. All told, I've always enjoyed Hyatt properties and our stay here was quite satisfying overall. I'd stay here again the next time I need a hotel in this area. read more

I'm dropping my daughter off at college this week and struggled to find a room close to campus. This place is about 10 minutes from campus and in a really fun area. Close to lots of restaurants, shopping etc. We're also really happy with the hotel itself. We had a great, friendly check in. We booked 2 rooms for a Thursday night & overall it was a nice, clean, comfortable stay. Our original second room wasn't ready when the first one was and when it still wasn't ready at 4pm they offered us a room further from our family, which we took so we could go rest after a long day. The parking is located on the 4th floor of an outdoor mall/market and the hotel lobby is on the 5th floor. I wasn't expecting this and the elevators were a bit tricky to get on and off of the entire stay. Lots of people using them non stop so there's lots of waiting & that's something to note. The rooms were spacious and everything was clean and comfortable. The toiletries were good quality and smelled very nice. The options for breakfast were great, even including a vegetarian sausage (thank you!). Generous toppings bar for oatmeal, perfect waffles, and lots of juices. Staff we encountered were all friendly and I really have no complaints. We will for sure be staying here again when in Eugene. read more

This was one of the best Hyatts for an overnight stay. It isn't a super nice resort hotel, but a very good "traveling through and want a nice place to stay" type hotel. They have an excellent parking situation, lots of room on the 4th floor of the parking garage and it is free. You can walk steps from your car, to the elevator, go to the 5th floor and you are in their main lobby. The hotel is part of a nice shopping mall with many dining options and nice shops to visit. Our room was super clean and felt new, as if this hotel was newly constructed or recently updated. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was a nice size and very clean. The breakfast they provided was pretty good. And everyone there was very kind and friendly. For a fast overnight, it had everything we needed in a nice package. read more

Excellent place in the heart of a shopping center. Nearby to U of O. We traveled to San Diego and caught this place on the last night of our return trip. Very clean. It has its own floor and direct elevator in the parking garage. Check in is a little different. The main lobby is on floor 5 so there is street level parking for check in only. You park then go to floor 5 to check in then move your vehicle to the 4th floor. The room key card is required to enter the garage. One thing to keep in mind it's only 7' clearance. There is a nice bar on the fifth floor and a restaurant. There is so much around in Oakway Center you will find something. The place has an upscale feel to it. The pool and spa were down for maintenance which was disappointing. It was very quiet at night and the room had a great blackout shade. Staff were gracious and friendly. Out of our four overnight stays on the road this Hyatt was our favorite. We're planning a trip there specifically so we can stay there. read more

A little unresponsive through email and phone, but otherwise, pretty good. I tried to get an Explorist upgrade through a corporate program, but the sales department was very unresponsive. I left multiple messages and sent many emails, but they didn't ever get back to me. However, the booking and check-in process was streamlined and the room was spotless. You guys. This Hyatt is freaking amazing!! If you're taking a road trip from California to Washington, please look no further and just do yourself a favor - stop here! the shops and dining downstairs were beautiful, the hotel itself was so new and fresh and the customer service was on point! For COVID concerns, they all wore masks, they had a hot breakfast packed individually for guests in the morning, hand sanitizer stations at all elevators, only four guests allowed at once and they had markers on the ground for where to stand. I called the Hyatt and they said they wait at least 12-hours after a guest checks out to even enter the room to clean it. Parking was free and in the garage (4th floor) and pets are welcome for a fee which was very reasonable. We make the trek to and from WA and CA and with 2 pups and a toddler, we won't be staying anywhere else but here moving forward! Thanks Hyatt Eugene! read more

This place was just wonderful. All new and well done. Kind of weird for checking. Don't bother stopping at curb and running upstairs to check in. Just park on the 4th floor and bring bags to check in. Make sure your on the elevator to the hotel and not the garage. The check in was super fast. My room was behind the bar back by the outdoor veranda. They had a lot of heaters and flames. Very cool! Wow!! The inside pool and jacuzzi were outstanding! The room was huge even had a sitting area and a balcony. We scored. We arrived right before sunset. Place was brand new and spotless. Great a lot! read more

We really enjoyed our stay at this Hyatt. The location was perfect. There were many great restaurants and shops you could enjoy right at the hotel in Oakway center. We even walked to the U of O baseball game. The front desk associate was so great to us and remembered us at checkout. If you have to stay here than oh well but personally I didn't have the best experience. They said free breakfast the breakfast was two week old bagels and cream cheese. Bagels were stiff. I also left my power adapter and they didn't save it for me in the lost in found. I called the same day and they "did not find it" which is bull. They said I need to fill out a form for lost and found. In the same day I left. So I'm quite annoyed at my experience at this location. Not only that!! There bathroom in the lobby doesn't have a working sink and that is freaking disgusting during covid!!! Can't wash your hands in the bathroom during covid 19 seems like a huge health hazard. Great hotel for families. We spent a early holiday visit and got the King suite. The room had just enough room for our family of 5. The hotel offers a great breakfast selection with rotating breakfast offering each day. Nice plus not to have the same food offerings each day. The hotel staff was wonderful. The hotel offers free parking in a garage parking ( plus on those Oregon raining days) indoor pool to wear out the kids, and a full bar that is open until 11pm. The bar also offers a selected food menu of burgers, salads and apps. The hotel is located in a shopping center that is just north of downtown Eugene. The shopping center has some great local restaurants and a Trader Joe's to help stack up snacks for the kids. Definitely would stay again! read more

This Business Class Hotel opened officially on August 17, 2017 and I was the first person to stay in my room on the 6th floor for the big Solar Eclipse Weekend (Eclipse on Monday August 21st). The General Manager is a 15+ year veteran of Hilton Hotels and a very nice person to chat with. He was put through the ultimate stress test opening a new sold out hotel with new staff on the biggest event weekend in Oregon History. The Hotel is built on top of a nice enclosed multi-level parking garage that sits in the middle of an upscale shopping mall. Park on the 4th level of the garage, and take the elevator to the 5th level and check in. You won't get a drop of rain on you in bad weather. Rooms are on the 5th, 6th, and 7th, levels. The indoor pool, hot tub, gym, and bar are all on the 5th Level. The pool is good for laps. This is a very comfortable Hotel to stay in--I could have stayed a week. Like all Hyatt Place hotels, breakfast is free. Here parking is free too. Also in the area of the Hotel in addition to tons of mall stores are Trader Joes, and a Natural Foods grocery store. If you have your bicycle, Eugene has a nice long river bike trail that starts approx. a mile away that is popular in the community. While I am not intimately familiar with Eugene, I was told that this Hotel sits in the nicer section of town. It's also very close to Oregon State University, the Big "O". Who does not like the big "O?" Like me, you can ask for a room facing the stadium. Keep in mind that this is new construction, and the room walls are very thin. In my room, I was able to hear conversations and noises from the attached room as if they were in my bathroom. I always travel with ear plugs and you should too. From a value standpoint I would size it up this way compared to other hotels in it's class throughout the USA: Any rate (before taxes) at or below $150.00 per night is a very good value for this hotel @ 2017 prices. Between $150.00 and $200.00 per night is a good value. Above $200.00 per night is a fair value. I predict that this hotel will have a bright future--I personally love Hotels in shopping/exciting areas and the enclosed garage is an added benefit. The only reason that I would probably not stay here again and did not rate this Hotel a '5' star is that they allow pet dogs in the Hotel. Dogs have no business in this fine business class Hotel. I am highly opposed to that here and elsewhere, unless they designate just a few limited room for dogs and not the entire Hotel. Management is going to discover that this is a huge mistake. Housekeeping has enough work controlling hair and dirt from humans let along a dog! And unless you shampoo the carpet after every dog stay--fecal matter will remain on the carpets. They will not be able to guarantee me that the room I am assigned to in the future never had a dog stay--that is a big problem. When traveling, we look for Hotels that do Not allow pets and give them preference. read more

Overall, the hotel, room, staff, and location were great. Also big plus for being pet friendly! Rooms were clean and the parking garage seemed safe as well. However, the great experience was quickly ruined by racist guests who didn't like the fact that my wife and I were Asian (I'm Vietnamese and my wife is Filipino). In a ride down an elevator 2 men quickly asked us if we were vaccinated (as we were masked up) and then proceed to ask us if our dog spoke Chinese or Japanese. I immediately responded and said neither and called him out for being racist. The man was dumbfounded and looked at me like I offended him. After the incident, we didn't feel comfortable. Upon checking out, we told the hotel about the situation. The manager was sympathetic, apologized and offered to remove the guests, but at that point it was too late since we didn't know who they were. It's really a shame because we actually liked everything about the hotel, but after this incident won't feel comfortable staying there again. read more

Let's consider the glass half full, and cover the positive aspects of the stay first. For one, the location in Eugene is great. New construction with a ton of shops and restaurants in the extremely close vicinity. Next, the hotel is very clean, both the rooms and the grounds themselves. Free parking onsite is also a very nice addition. Finally, the staff is great; friendly and looking to help their guests have the best stay possible. The half empty part is really only one action item, but it's a big one; the bed was extremely uncomfortable. King sized, but the mattress didn't offer much in the way of support, and after spending a lot of time in hotels around the world, it ranked as one of my worst sleeping experiences. I spent most of the night tossing and turning, just couldn't comfortable, no matter where, or how, I was positioned. The sleeping situation was a major bummer, as the rest of the stay was great. If Hyatt Place can get the mattress situation figured out, they've got a great chance to be the destination lodging option in Eugene. read more

I am not used to shared use spaces, with the hotel upstairs, shops down stairs; that made it a wee bit busy/complicated to navigate getting in/out. The beds were VERY comfortable. The bathroom had some design issues. The shower head was too high for me to reach to adjust. Why do they not have hand held shower heads? They stored the bath towels IN THE SHOWER. So unless you moved all your towels, they were going to get wet from using the shower. I acknowledge hotels are moving to "community" use shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel to save money and plastic. However, even with a lock on it, the shower gel started out clear, then came out white and funky smelling. Just saying, I'll be bringing my own from now on. read more

From the moment we checked in till we walked out the door the staff was excellent. Our room was beyond our expectations. They helped with band aids and tape when we needed it. Boom...adjacent to elevator and room has air handler outside window. Go back to lobby to explain history of request, response, "Oh we are so sorry, everyone is checked in, we cannot move you now". This is the best place to stay in Eugene for a variety of reasons - chief among them, location. It is connected to a nice mall with anything you might need. So, if you forgot your bathing suit and want to go in the hotel hot tub, you can just walk over to Old Navy. This hotel exceeded our expectations. At first we were unsure of staying in a hotel in a shopping complex. However, that turned out to be one of the best features. The location was very convenient and the shops and restaurants around the hotel were very upscale. The hotel itself is very clean and quiet with comfortable beds and furniture. Never heard people in the halls and the staff is friendly and helpful. One thing to note is that I am not a fan of these new sliding glass bathroom doors with motion sensing lights inside the room. I know the corporate design team is trying to be original but they should also be functional first and foremost. Absolutely loved my stay at Hyatt Place Eugene! The location is convenient, you're surrounded by good shops & restaurants. The parking is free & it's in a covered parking structure with security patrolling. You initially park in the 3rd level get into the elevator & push level 5 & you're in the lobby. The feeling of clean the moment you walk through the lobby/halls was so refreshing but that did not come close to the level of cleanliness in our room. The breakfast buffet was delicious, I don't even eat breakfast usually but they had such a good selection that my eyes were bigger than my stomach. Huge shout out to the staff, they all said hello each time you passed & were warm & welcoming. I would love to personally thank the breakfast staff but since I can't I will write about it. People were very demanding of them each morning I went & they never lost their cool & had a smile on their face at all times (I personally would give attitude back from how these grown guests were acting). I'm bummed I didn't get to go to their sky lounge, it looked so pretty but there just was not enough time to go. Definitely staying here again! read more
