Two vehicles you can think about: Newmar Dutch Star - all you ever wanted in a motor coach. Literally. My wife was outraged with the fact it didn't have a fireplace. The salesman said "the floor is heated." "Problem" solved, ha ha. By the way, the salesman wasn't doing anything. He didn't have to. I sat down in the recliner and had no desire to move. That vehicle is nicer than most people's homes, which it should be for the significant price. Then there's the Grand Design 380FL. The roof - the Blue Compass salesperson let us hit a sample of the roof with a hammer. It did no damage. It has a lifetime warranty on an RV roof. Let that sink in. It's a great, great vehicle with tons of space and a marvelous front living room. It costs - about as much as you'd expect. A really nice 5th wheel. My wife wanted it but getting a truck for it would cost me almost as much as the 5th wheel. This is not a major RV show - the Florida SuperSale is going on this week & I'm sure the Austin show is coming soon. It is good enough and I dont have to go far to see premium vehicles.

Went in for a part after I had a blowout on my camper. I know the part was $72. The parts guy told…read moreme there is a 40% up charge. He then told me total was $120, before taxes and shipping. I'm not a mathematician but I know 40% of $72 is not $48. I argued with him for a few mins but then realized it was completely pointless. He just pointed at the screen and said "that's what the system is calculating." I left and called three other authorized Grand Design dealers and they all gave me a quote of $99. I just felt like he was intentionally trying to rip me off...or apply the "Boerne tax.". If you go there, just double check all the prices they give you. Felt slimy. I won't be back there for anything. Too bad, I know I would have upgraded my camper before too long and this would have been my first stop.

Certainly ratings can be subjective and I think Albert may have been ambivalent about the condition vs. being willfully untruthful. Condition: Underneath heavily rusted, major chips missing in counter tops, 5 jagged slots cut into counter top for no apparent reason, large ugly shed pad lock on the entry door, signs of water damage in several cabinets, exposed screw holes EVERYWHERE, dirty carpet and the final straw that did me in was the 24" crack across the windshield. None of this was disclosed to me when we were discussing the vehicle. Lost around $1,800 between airline tickets for my family to fly down to drive home with me, hotel expenses, cab fare etc.. Lost our February vacation week, Had they been honest upfront and advertised that this vehicle came from an auction lot and needed much TLC to bring it back to good condition, I might have been more receptive to the idea that there was work to do. The windshield alone was close to $3K to replace!!!! This is not an RV dealership as they purport, this is a storage facility that has discovered how to make some cash selling RV's from people who have them stored they and mostly from buying them at auctions. They know little about RVs and will not be able to service the vehicles in any meaningful way. On the flip side, their prices are good and you might find a gem that needs little to be a good RV for someone. You REALLY need to know your stuff before buying here though....

Unfortunately, my RV and I lost the fight. I had some pretty hefty damage down one whole side of the trailer, and the back wall was ripped loose With a about a 6 inch gap you could see into the bathroom through. Class A worked their magic and made that trailer look like new in what I thought was a pretty short time. I could not have been happier with their service. Last year, my slide wouldn't go back in. I labored to get it in manually and took it to be worked on at Class A. They've got it working like new. While it was in the shop, they also resealed my roof for me. While I was there, I asked about RV storage. Not only did they have it, they had it for 1/3 the price I was paying in San Antonio. Even with the added drive to Pipe Creek, I save time because I'm not dealing with the traffic getting to the Tally Road area. I recommend Class A for any service you need done on your RV. It is a very good company. The office staff is very friendly. Oh... I should mention how one of their technicians stayed on the phone with me for over an hour telling me how to get my slide back in manually so that I could tow it to the shop. He was awesome!

They got us in right away but had to finish the work the next day so we were able to stay in the small rv park Adjacent to the shop in pipe creek. The shop is so clean and the waiting area is stocked with everything for your rv from replacement doors to back up cameras. This is a gem of a repair place because we all Know you're going to need a repair on that rv! Hope we Don't have to visit them again but if we need a repair in the hill country we know where to go!
