For the rodeo, you can't beat this venue. I've only been here once but when comparing this setup to the San Antonio rodeo, this place is tops. There's not a bad seat in the house. We sat in the 200s and had a great view of the events and musical performers. The beer vendors were plentiful. The line for refreshments, merchandise and bathroom were all short. The restrooms were cleaner than you'd expect for a rodeo. Outside, the carnival was setup in a way that there was plenty of room for people to walk around. The only downer is that it's a pretty good trek from parking to expo center but parking only cost $5. I don't know what other events are held here but based on this experience it's a good spot to be for spectators. read more

Home to Rodeo Austin where you will see the stock show, carnival, exciting rodeo competitions and live music. I try to come here every year and this night's performance in the Luedecke Arena was Josh Turner. The complex description starts with poor street signage of which lot to enter for general public parking. The roads around this place are old, narrow, and full of potholes. I did see a nice entryway signage, but the parking lot for the rodeo is gravel and either can get dusty or muddy. There are some paved lots but reserved for rodeo elites and attendees. The buildings are old but seem to be maintained very well. Signage for the rodeo itself has dramatically improved and can get lost but there are still some hazards to watch out like sharp edges, holes and rocks. It is not a very large complex but based upon land size is could get larger to accommodate more structures for the rodeo. Besides the rodeo other events are held here like the ROT rally. There seems to be a lot of asphalt surface area and see where popular with a bike rally. This place is not completely flat and seems to be slightly hilly. It can be breezy here at times. The restrooms in the facilities are kept clean. A medium sized physical building is used for merchants during the rodeo and big enough for wedding reception. Luedecke Arena is small and basic. Looks like a huge barn but inside has a lot of seating. Design for small people where the seating are benches with little to none leg room. There are real seats in the first few rows but those are higher priced and sells quickly. The video boards, lighting and sound are good, and being small you feel closer to the action on the floor. It is all metal structuring so it can get loud. One side has a special inside and outside seating club and the other space where merchants set up shop. Food and drinks are sold. It was primarily designed for the rodeo but at one time a minor league hockey team played here. Overall getting here from SH 130 is not bad in traffic, but if you never been here then use Maps to navigate. read more

This place is falling apart. I only chose two stars over one because there was plenty of parking for our event, which isn't always the case at Expo Centers like this. The ceiling looks like it might fall on you any second. The bathrooms are barely lit (seriously I got my phone flashlight out to find the toilet paper). There aren't a lot of good options for food nearby-plan a ten minute drive at least if you want to leave for grub. The ground is torn up with grass growing through and potholes. I ordered food from the Center's Concession stand out of desperation and there was a dead fly on the pickle in my chicken salad. read more

Located in far east Austin (near several shipping company warehouse hubs), the Center provides space for large gatherings like the Austin Powwow, and competition events like the Travis County Kennel Club's annual show. I wear closed-toed shoes (with socks) when I visit, because the Center is situated in a natural environment, the floors are dirt (or rough) inside the various public buildings, and if you are attending an animal show in particular, you will get dusty so you should be prepared. Also, if it rains, there will be mud. Every event I have attended at the Center has been marvelous. An added benefit is that on Decker Road nearby, there are several new and spacious gas stations with quick marts (very handy). read more

Let's face it... no one actually likes the Exposition center, itself. We like the events held there. And more often than not, those events will parking-fee-rape you on top of whatever price you've paid for whatever event you're going to. And also, dirt. Sometimes beer. So, there's that. But yay for rodeos and ROT rally and tent vendors and whatnot, right? read more

I came to Austin for a triathlon, and the expo center hosted the majority of the fesitivites for the weekend. From what I saw of the facilities, everything seemed fairly well maintained. There was plenty of space for all of the merchant tables and there were tons of seats for those who wanted to watch people cross the finish line. The location is pretty conveinent, too, especially if you're staying near downtown Austin or even in Round Rock. Sure, its a bit off I-35, but its easy enough to find. The parking lots are pretty rough, but you don't need a truck to get past the cracks & bumps. There are a ton of spots, so no need to be concerned about not finding parking if you arrive a little late to whatever event you're attending. For the race, this was a good choice in venue. Hopefully, it'll be in the same location next year! read more

I was here for Rodeo Austin for the first time. It is a great facility and very large. It is a bit of a drive The rodeo and concert were great! I wish I could have seen more of the carnival or the BBQ cook off. I would go back here again for a fair or carnival. If you are going for the rodeo bring cash to exchange for tokens which is what the food vendors take for food and drinks. read more

It's way out in the middle of nowhere, but is a good venue for certain things. I remember watching the Ice bats play here back in the day, and more recently the Rodeo. The venue itself is pretty basic and seems suited for monster truck rallies more so than premiere state of the art events, but that's to be expected, and the sound system still isn't too shabby. They did charge $10 for parking at the rodeo so that stinks, but what can you do. The seating is decent enough and its not so big that there are bad views from anywhere. read more

I took my girls here for Rodeo Austin.  We had a great time.  The parking was well organized, concessions were plentiful and bathrooms clean.  Overall a really good experience.  4 stars only because the building is starting to show its age and looks like it's suffering from a little deferred maintenance. read more

Its hard to write a review on a place that holds various events, of all different calibers.. But, here goes. Do I like the Expo Center?.. I don't know. Do I GO to the Expo Center?.. Well, yeah. What I really dislike the most is the $10 a car to park shit that they didn't used to to back in the days @ Expo Center. To pay to park, and then traditionally to pay a high admission fee, is just NOT cool. Kind of why I really dont support Cedar Park Center and their high ass-no options parking fees. I think it goes back to the event itself. But, the Expo Center grounds are HUGE. It appears that they can accommodate just about anything here.. From the Tx Heatwave, to the Rodeo/Carnival, to the Monster Truck shows, to 5K races.. they do really serve a lot of events. They probably could use some updating and upgrading, but I doubt it'll happen. Be prepared to SPEND $ for ANY event you come to out here. And DON'T use any of their ATM's (if you don't already know this...) read more

The worst venue for a music fest that I have ever been to. I was so disappointed when I spent over 200 to see the Anjuna tour. The place had the worst sound system I've ever heard and they did absolutely nothing for lighting/effects. The very worst part of my experience was having to waste 1 hour of my time, each time I wanted to buy a drink. The place literally had 2 pop up bars with only 4 bartenders. The lines were ridiculously long. I was in the middle of the line when the DJ I was waiting to see all night came on. Wasted 45 min of his set waiting for a damn drink. Never going here again for a show. Not worth it. read more

Went to see Dwight Yoakum during the rodeo. For having not been to the rodeo in years, it wasn't bad venue for a show, what made it awesome was the service by the concert venue personnel, made the entire show unforgettable. Great job guys. Otherwise the place can get a little overwhelming when it gets packed but not too bad. read more

This place is huge, but it takes forever to get here. It is way out of the way, but I enjoyed coming here for show one Sunday afternoon. Plenty of parking, but there was a fee the day I went. Not much else to report really, other than I ate a cheeseburger and didn't get sick. read more

T-Rex Planet Dinosaur was not what was advertised. It was overpriced, $42 for an adult & child ticket. There were approximately 10 animatronic dinosaurs, "Tracey" was no where to be found and the fossil dig was a sandbox with plastic dinosaur skeletons held together by 2x4's. The approximate 7 inflatable bounce houses were the highlight of the event. There was a $5 charge for face painting, balloons and several crude dinosaur rides. Take your child to the park, a movie or Inflatable Wonderland. Many of us discussed how disappointed we were with the event while our children played in bounce houses. I was warned by a parent leaving the event to save my money. You have been warned. Save your money. Advertisement This event simulates what it would be like to experience the Jurassic, Triassic, and Cretaceous periods first hand. "Tracey" (a young T-Rex) greets guests once every 3 hours and can be found walking and playing around the exhibit. The main exhibit features life size ultra-realistic animatronic dinosaurs; over 40 life like dinosaurs in all with the rides and the skeletons. Visitors can interact with these creatures, learn about them and even ride a few. It features realistic scenes, enormous dinosaurs, cute baby dinosaurs, a Dinosaur band, and lots of fun activities for children of all ages. There's even a fossil dig where young paleontologist can dig up ancient bones, a "Dino Bounce" area with dinosaur theme inflatable bounce houses, and much more! read more

This is a really fun concert venue for the rodeo (Kevin Fowler makes some funny facial expressions though and you see those SUPER close up on the double jumbotrons haha)! One side of the fair is the awesome rodeo stuff (like piglet races and kid's barn and market and corn on the cob), and the other side is the dirty rides... kinda gross, but nice that they are completely separate. Don't forget $10 CASH for parking though! If you don't have cash, you can't pay to get into the parking lot, and since this is in the middle of nowhere, you end up driving around everywhere looking for cash-back places or ATMS. Once you're inside you can buy "tokens" for food/drinks and games with cash or credit though. Yeehaw! read more

The Travis County Expo Center gets Five stars for taking on as many events as it can! Most people know its there because the Star of Texas Rodeo is held there but that's only once a year. I go once a month to the Saxet gun show to load up on ammo and to purchase a firearm here and there. I have also attended a Deaf convention there that was more than accommodating for the hearing impaired. My only gripe would be the cleanliness of the restrooms, but hey after 18 months in Afghanistan I can pretty much squat any where so I will get over it. read more

This was my first time at this place for a graduation! I couldn't believe how bad this place looks especially the ceiling! Accidents waiting to happen if anything falls down at an event! Visible damage, patches, holes! I love Austin and I would think this place would've been kept up!! read more

I have attended many an event at the Expo center, as well as volunteered for the Rodeo for a few years; no matter the experience it has been ok and memorable for both myself, family members and friends. The only thing is that the box seats would at least have some of a cushion or insert that wouldn't make the seats so hard when sitting for a long time to enjoy both the rodeo and show together...I do appreciate greatly, how volunteers always make sure there is crowd movement and no blocking the aisles or walkway at the expo center. appreciate it. read more

Whoever booked and approve the Jurassic tour should be fired. $28 admission for kids and $23 for adults to come in the hall make one small circle of Dino's in habitat, the rides that are imposed to be part of the ticket required additional tickets. We spent almost $100 and the "rides" barely moved. Residents of Travis county who attended were completely ripped off. Shame on whoever brought this in and promoted. read more
