This looks like a fun place for kids in the community to enjoy. They have skating rink, an arcade, basketball gym, bowling alley, DJ booth and real food. When I say real food, I mean fried chicken, chicken and waffles, catfish, pizza etc... not your average snack bar food. I came here for a charity basketball tournament and it was the perfect place to host it. Music was on point, food was on point, the restrooms were clean and the staff was great.

    MYEC Mission Statement:
    Rebecca R.

The Millennium Youth Entertainment Center is a great place to take the kids for fun & for a reasonable price :-). It's really open & big & has a bowling area, skating ring, movie theater, & a video arcade area!! Woooh that was ALOT :-). There is also a food court w/ lots of seating & tables but just know that the food court sells the typical food court food so don't come hungry if you're watching your figure ;). You can also have birthday parties at the MYEC ..which is always a plus to let someone else help w/ all the work. The parking lot is also very big w/ plenty of parking so no worries there. My only "could be better" is that this time at the Millennium Youth Entertainment Center there were lots of "out of order" games in the arcade area..the pool table was out of order & there were also about 4 other games not working & the basketball games no longer had the nets around the rim & some of the basketballs were flat. I do hope that the "Higher Ups" do keep up maintenance w/ the games that do need repair & get ALL games in working order so that the MYEC can continue to be a fun & awesome place for everyone to keep enjoying.

    Santa and random skater.

By far the best rink in Austin. There are 3 reasons for this: 1. Grown 2. Folks 3. Roll MYEC hosts a monthly event called "Grown Folks Roll." Actually, it is called "Grown Folks Step & Roll," we'll get to the "step" part in a minute. GFR is a special time, where they do not allow anyone under 21 into the rink. Where, for a mere $5, you get skates, access to the rink, and the privilege of bringing your own booze. Yes, that is right: BYOB Skating. I could really stop this review right here, but I will go on. The rink is actually really nice: it is wooden and has not been varnished to the point where you cannot tell it is wooden. This is a plus for me, because I like the feeling of wood slats under my skates. During GFR, they play all the old hits. For some reason, all I can remember now is "Macho Man," but I'm pretty sure they also played some MJ, J5, Bee Gees, and Donna Summer. Anyway, did I mention it is BYOB? Oh, I did? Alright, moving on. The skates. Well, this is a youth community center. On the east side. So, these skates have been well-loved. I would definitely recommend bringing your own inserts or wearing really thick socks, or just bringing your own pair. The steppin'. Alright, towards the end of GFR, they host a "Step & Roll" competition. People do the Electric Slide in skates or stocking feet. I don't know what you win, but being able to do the Electric Slide in skates is really its own prize, isn't it? I latest about 45 seconds and then went back to my seat and drink to watch the grown folks step and roll. The other. This is a full-service youth community center. They have bowling, a theatre, an arcade and a food court too. I have only been to the GFR so I don't personally know about the other amenities. Did I mention GFR is BYOB? Oh, I did?

    What movies are playing?

Been bringing the kids here for 10 years. Great venue, cheap games, bowling, semi-working movie theater, and the best of all - a well run roller skating rink. However, this place is in desperate need of new management. The company who manages it is SMG, and they've had the contract since 1997. The venue is heavily subsidized by the city and in 2016 the city contributed $663k to the operational budget. The take away here is that this is and should be an affordable venue, period. However, with the budget it has, I would expect better performance. But hey, I'm not volunteering to take over the place so... Three stars for trying, and the employees here do try. The Millennium just needs to try some new management, that's all.

First time on roller skates. before they turned off the lights.

This place was pretty cool! You pay pretty cheap to get in to skate for 2 hours skates included...they turn off the lights, they have skates for the kiddies food n drinks plenty of seats for Ppl that don't want to skate. They also have bowling, idk how that works tho, and movie place and arcade. Seems pretty fun but I only did the skating.

The venue itself has a lively, open feel with an urban backyard vibe and plenty of space to move around, mingle, and actually take in the installation without feeling crowded. What stood out most was how well the space complemented the event. The layout made it easy to engage with the installation while still enjoying the social vibe. They had space for working virtually as well as displays to test some of the technology. There's a nice balance between indoor comfort and that signature rooftop-style setting, which gives it a relaxed but elevated feel. The staff was friendly and kept things running smoothly, and the overall setup felt thoughtfully organized. Whether you were there to focus on the installation or just take it in casually, the environment supported both. The line was somewhat long to get into the event as it was at capacity and could only allow more people as people were leaving the event. I was given a drink ticket and got to try the Patio Pounder with ilegal mezcal, primo aperitivo, tropical citrus, coconut, grapefruit soda. The bartender was efficient even though the lines were long. The cocktail was enjoyable with the balance of smoky and citrus flavors. They also had a variety of food bites available including chips and queso. creamy street corn, and sliders. The food was gone relatively quickly due to the crowds but it would be replenished periodically. Overall, Upstairs at Caroline proved to be a solid venue for a creative SXSW event versatile, welcoming, and very on-brand for Austin's arts and tech scene.

The host brought her own dessert/cake which was amazing as well. There was an outside champagne bar and place to set up for photos. There was an inside bar with cocktails of the day like French 50 instead of French 75. ;-) We were fortunate the business next door was closed for the day so we could park there for the event, otherwise we would have had to hunt for parking. I will definitely have to keep this place in mind for future events.

It was a smaller wedding so the ceremony part took place in the front courtyard area, which was intimate and cozy. It's right on the street so we heard some loud vehicles but nothing that really took away from the wedding. The venue is a house, of course, with many rooms and different nooks. One small room had the bar and an appetizer spread laid out, and another room had the dance floor with a DJ. I liked the different areas to mingle and hang out. The reception dinner was held in the back courtyard area, which was beautifully done with lights and great ambience. However the ground is a bit uneven back there, so I was slightly tilted on my chair throughout dinner. That was a little annoying and could be limiting for those with mobility or balance issues. The employees I interacted with were all very polite and provided great service. The wedding was beautiful and I think this is a unique venue that's perfect for a smaller wedding or party.

Christina also confirmed this in her review, you HAVE to use one of MOYA's vendors. So sorry, Christina, for your horrible experience at Springdale Station, and for getting ripped off. We ALSO definitely do NOT recommend Springdale Station! Honest review for those considering this as a venue: The indoor space is very SMALL. It is not a good location for a large amount of guests. You will find three rooms inside (one with some stairs that are required to access it). The foyer serves as one of these rooms, so once you make it through the line to get inside, you are inside one of the three small rooms! The event we attended was very crowded and everyone was bumping into each other. Again, in OUR experience, this is NOT a good venue for a large group of people. The outside has a very small patio, with a LARGE amount of dirt. Definitely not a good location for anything even slightly dressy. Something casual, cowboy-like, perhaps a kids' casual party...those might work. The dirt area is large. (And VERY dirty!) We came home with dirt up to our calves. Gross! Keep this in mind, and check this out thoroughly before signing any contract with Moya. Buyer beware!!! Outside seating on the small patio was extremely limited. Literally only ONE sofa. Moya needs to addressed this. Would be nice if guests could actually sit down. Ridiculously inhospitable! We have attended several events in Austin, this one is only suitable for a super casual OUTDOOR event. (And hopefully it is priced accordingly...). Again, please prepare to get dirty if the weather is dry, and if it rains you will have muddy shoes. If you wear any type of heel, you will sink into their wet mud. Again, this is another item that Moya still needs to address. (Hello? GREATLY enlarge that tiny patio!). Good grief. Last issue - parking. Many other reviewers have also mentioned this. The parking lot was large, but it was (is) shared by other businesses so finding an actual parking spot was very difficult. Highly recommend if you have to go to Springdale Station that you use a taxi, (etc.) to get there and back. Again, research thoroughly before committing. There are so many other decent venues in Austin, we don't know why anyone would pick this one!

We actually got married a month prior in MA, but needed to celebrate the occasion with all our friends who live here with us in TX. This event space was perfect for a party on a budget. The view- I mean, come ON, was just incredible, and the backdrop for everyone's photos! People could not stop talking about how phenomenal it was. The process of getting the place was a bit tricky, as I could not navigate their government website to select the date and missed the cut-off time before having to do the lottery. Luckily, not a lot of people were begging for dates in August as the venue does not have air conditioning- so the heat was a bit brutal (but that's Texas!)- but we got it no problem! I ended up calling and the person I spoke to was very helpful. Speaking of air conditioning- or lack-there-of- we ended up renting some swamp coolers (huge cooling fans that run off of ice- but a LOT of ice!!) to help with the heat. There are ceiling fans and a few industrial fans included- but those don't help too much in August! I had a hard time figuring out what exactly we needed- so I'm going to add a quick "plug" for Preferred Climate Solutions our of Hutto, TX. They worked ZPC before and knew how to set things up. Brett even had an extra swamp cooler from an earlier event he let us use. Moving on- because this place doesn't require use of specific vendors- it made it that much affordable. We hired Slab BBQ to cater and Pixster photo booth for fun. For drinks, we filled out the necessary paperwork (some cheap $10ish permit? I can't quite remember) and we're able to just bring in a few kegs and boxes of wine from PartyBarn. Everything went off without a hitch! Good to note- the place provides a bunch of tables. Two huge round ones, a few smaller round and rectangle ones, and some nice cocktail tables we used on the patio. (The cocktail tables and one rectangular were good enough condition to go without tablecloths- the rest require coverings.) For lighting- it was definitely important to us to get string lights on the patio. I realized last minute that getting a few hundred feet of lights was going to be trickier than I initially thought- since I had to consider ones that connected and could manage the power of 300 ft of lights. I used Americanpartylights.com- it worked out great! They included zip ties which is important since it's against the park rules to use tape (holds better anyways.) I found a great diagram of ZPC patio for the light arrangements and measurements (photo included.) It was a perfect celebration and I HIGHLY recommend this space for any event! It has such a cool vibe even without decorations, your set up can be minimal and still look amazing. Plus... that VIEW!

We actually found it pretty last minute and decided to go early since we knew we'd be taking photos and didn't want to deal with crowds. When we arrived, it was pretty quiet, which honestly worked out perfectly for us. The décor is bold and eclectic in the best way, think velvet booths, curated gallery walls, low lighting, and these amazing feathered chandeliers that tie the whole space together. We ordered the Tiger Lilly cocktail and the Elote, both were fantastic. The drinks are not only pretty but good, which isn't always a given in places that are more vibe-forward. Ours were balanced, flavorful, and well-presented. The DJ was there, early, which was a nice surprise, it gave the whole place some life without being overwhelming. The staff was super kind, especially the manager who came by to check in and even gave us a little background on the space. We appreciated how welcoming everyone was.
