Michela made my first experience a delight!! First time opening a Travis account and was in and out in 40 mins with what I needed.

This rating is really for the credit union system as a whole. If you try to pay off a loan with a link to your personal bank account elsewhere, the transfer sometimes fail. You don't receive an alert. You just have to check back every day and by the time you see that it failed you may not have enough time to try it again. Of course, the second attempt may fail as well and then you'll end up being late with your payment. Or you could take your chances waiting paying in person and hopefully you don't lose income if you work in a situation, where you earn only while you're actually on the job. A catch 22 situation I will never work with them again. read more

I am just here to share my most recent experience with Travis credit union and their terrible practices. If you're a person or family barely making it living paycheck to paycheck and don't have a hefty savings or investments account, They will absolutely not value you as a customer. Long story short, they unexpectedly closed all 6 of our accounts without warning. Funds all frozen and no way to get them back within a reasonable time. My husband had been on disability for a few weeks. So he had not been receiving his employers direct deposit into our joint account. But his personal account, which Edd gets direct deposit to, and my personal account, where I receive my employers direct deposit, (Zelle, Venmo & cashapp from my small business) have been active. There was a scheduled payment that we forgot about come out of our joint that over drafted our account. However there were funds in our personal and savings accounts that could have been transferred over to take care of that, but because our joint account had been inactive for longer then 45 days (no deposits or withdrawals or transactions), that was the reasoning why all accounts where closed. Not just the joint account in question. We thought we were being responsible by not using said account since my husband was not working. When I called and asked why I hadn't received a courtesy call, to warn us about closing all accounts, Jimmy R. Said "we don't do courtesy calls". This was extremely frustrating as we both had our direct deposits pending and rent due. The j Ku solution given was to return to the branch and open new accounts, but funds from old accounts would be sent by mail and take up to 10 business days. Pending direct deposits would bounce back, as accounts were no longer active. So opening new accounts would absolutely not solve our problem. Conveniently our car loan account was kept open so we could walk into any branch and pay off our loan at our convenience. I've been banking with Travis longer than 10 years. Never in my life have I felt so small. Given our financial hardship and not receive any sympathy. We weren't asking for anything but our funds same day so we can pay our rent and eat. We are still waiting for said check and Jimmy to give us an update. We w called back twice and both associates have let us know that there are notes from Jimmy and to just wait for his call. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. BE AWARE They will discriminate against you during the lending process for your race/religion and other identifying factors that violate the Equal Opportunity Credit Act. They literally had me sign a contract, open a card issued the line of credit issued and even had the card showing up in my account. Then the loan person that had an issue with me personally decided to suspend my card and funding which is now negatively affecting my credit situation because of it. They treated me like a criminal after an approval...I have a 706 score and it was an instant approval with no income docs required...Then everything changed when 1 person got involved well after I was approved...PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!! This review is for Mirla, very rude & seemed to be judging me & my husband the whole time. We went to get a new joint account for us. At the end of dealing with her piss poor attitude, she then tells us we won't be getting any cards cause apparently they don't do that for new accounts. NEVER have I ever heard of that, I've been a member for over 5 years and always gotten a print of card. It wasn't because the printer was down IT WAS BECAUSE "THEY DONT DO IT FOR NEW ACCOUNTS". Also did not get a after visit folder with all our disclosures. After a couple days this didn't seem right and I reached out to my family member who works at the branch and pretty much said she was full of sh*t & should've given us our cards & our disclosures. She seems like she does this often & is very unprofessional. Won't be back to this branch. She's gonna catch someone on the wrong day. read more

30 mins to make a deposit and get change. I needed $40 in change and they have to go to the vault. For coins? Uhg.. Then to top things off she returns from the vault after a good 15 minutes and says "are you aware of the fee after 5 rolls...?" What the heck TCU? I have all my accounts with you. Business, personal, credit line and 3 cars. Are you seriously going to charge me a fee to get rolled change for my two businesses? You're out of your mind. read more

Usually when I'm at this branch and I need to be seen by someone and usually takes up to an hour to be seen when there is a line. Apparently there is a sign in when you're supposed to sign in it's not obvious u have to be told it's not like a normal bank we just walk in when someone helps you at the front door like others I can see where they're trying to be modern system with the new technology but there is a lot of older people even younger people aren't used to this kind of system read more

Travis Credit Union - Long lines today @ it's branch - Mortgage Brokers Near Me - Fairfield, California

So I did finally receive a response from a representative at Travis Credit Union about my situation. The representative I spoke with was very apologetic and did seem to genuinely want to resolve the situation. I was told the amount of money still owed was taken out of collections and brought back in house and I wouldn't need to make a payment until January of 2021. I also was informed I wasn't reported to Chex Systems and as long as I set up a payment arrangement they wouldn't report me. She said she would try to see if she could get the rest of the overdrawn balance forgiven but it doesn't appear to have happened because I haven't heard anything. After taking time to reflect on what I was told, I honestly don't really feel this was entirely made right. They already took funds from a federal loan that was meant for my own business in order to cover most of the balance then closed the account on me. There's only a little over $200 still owed. So at this point it seems awfully petty to still expect me pay them when I am still disabled and currently unable to work. I will also have to move from my current home because I can't afford to pay rent and my parents need my help back home, due to a medical emergency. Plus it's the holidays and it's very sad that this financial institution can't be forgiving, especially during these extremely difficult times. So I hold no grudge against the representative who tried to help make things right, what so ever. Which is why this updated review has two stars. However, I am very angry that Travis Credit Union is unwilling to do anything more. After all if I had the money to pay them off then I wouldn't have ended up in such a terrible situation anyway. So yeah people do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere. read more

I've been banking with them for 20+ years When in today to have a document bank certified. A very simple request that should have not taken more than 10-15 minutes. Today I went to this Travis trying apply for a Credit Card, the waiting time was kinda fast, and there was this one lady helping me, and her customer service was horrible, less than McDonald customer service, so I just left and went to another Travis near by, best decision I made so far. I keep receiving emails requesting I call a "Travis" number and when I call, the representative has no accent and sounds very legit. I refuse to give my account number and I called them and I need to give my information so they can identify me or they can't discuss my account. I get told I will end up issues with my account if I ignore their attempt to contact me I am upset that Travis does not have a feature to forward possible phishing and scam attempts. I've been trying to find information on how to forward Travis the emails I'm getting. Because I called the number (since Travis has no method for me to ask if these were legit emails), now I'm getting phone calls from "TRAVIS". ***By not having a way to report and inquire about what possible fraud attempts***, I feel Travis is not taking fraud seriously. About a year ago, I lost my debit card. I was frantic and called a number google said was for Travis to report lost credit cards. To place a hold on my card, I was told I had to prove it was me first. I gave the rep my sensitive information. I later learned it was a fake number and fake website imitating Travis Credit Union. Within a week, I wrote to a CEO at Travis about the incident. I never received an email or call back from Travis about what I can do about what happened... Maybe change my account number, etc. About 7 years ago, I had a fake IRS site charge my Visa ATM card. I realized the issue within an hour and caught the problem BEFORE the money was handed over to the crooks, as it was still in "processing" mode. I went inside the closest branch. Travis refused to stop the payment, saying I admitted I authorized the company to charge my card. I filled out a fraud form, hoping Travis will do something about it. I never was refunded the money that was taken by fraud. I am very concerned Travis doesn't take Spam, Fraud, or Identity theft seriously. Oh, and if you want to wire money anywhere, ONLY ONE location in their entire network will do that because their other sites "are not set up for it". The location that will is not even at the main branch location. And if you go to the main branch location in Vacaville, there are no tellers or bankers. They only deal with loans and will direct you to their drive through ATM. read more

I love the drive thru ATM, esp since I have an infant, and it can be a hassle to get him in & out of the car. I've only gone in once 2 wait 4 a teller & it was a great experience. Oh! & the fact that each member gets 2 free cashier's checks per month is such an awesome benefit, esp since no one has a check book anymore & it is only a rare occasion where I actually need a check. BEWARE THE DRIVE-UP ATMs!! I went to pull money out & the ATM ate my credit card! I went inside for help & since I don't bank with Travis, they said there was nothing they could do... They said I had to go to my own back, cancel my card, get a new one, & my other card would be "shredded" when the ATM's were emptied. Yea, right!! All this because of your faultsy machine!?! No sympathy! No remorse! One guy showed a little concern, but everyone else, NOT THEIR PROBLEM!! I mean, even if you can't do anything, at least be understanding! So glad I don't bank here! This is the worst financial institution I have ever dealt with, my debit card number was used fraudulently, Travis gave credit for 30 days, then obtained order information from the company that processed the fraud order on my account, so they removed the credit, due to the fraudulent order was sent to my home, Travis did not believe me, Travis was not on my side treated as though I was lying about the whole ordeal. Travis doesn't value its customers at all. Please be careful, I would not recommend this credit Union to anyone. read more

So during a deposit I had to make, I still had a lot of tape on my cash. In that case I had to take it all off and the woman helping me Kiki (or Keke sorry didn't ask for spelling) offered to help which I respectfully declined because of how bad I felt. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Never in my life have I been treated so rudely over the phone. Their website is a joke and trying to make online payments is nearly impossible. Their pay-by-phone service is equally useless. My agent-by-phone wanted to know why I couldn't make my NEXT payment in addition to my current payment. I told her that was none of her business and that I paid my bills as they came due. She became curt and rude throughout the rest of the conversation. I NEVER would have accepted them as my lender for my car loan through the dealer if I had known they were this pathetic. Came in as customer in car sales transaction, the banker could not have been more less informative to us, the transaction couldn't have gone more roughly. And at the very end to be deceived and lied to to not finish opening myself an acct when we were there since 4pm and tried to open acct which banker - Derrick Freeman was aware, at the end after close he says the system closed and he can no longer do so. And this was a lie, it wasn't a deposit or anything it was simply an add on to the account. I have looked into this and to learn about the deception. The car sales could've went more smoothly and should've had he been more informative and gave the right information. I will edit this after I hear from supervisor on how matter will be conveyed but at this time I will not continue to be a member. read more

This is the worst credit union ever. Extremely unprofessional and unorganized. They always give you the run around.

Travis Credit Union, a non-profit, was established over 70 years ago to serve the Travis Community and now serves over 200,000 members and earns over $1,000,000 a MONTH in net income. Their passion is for profit and accumulating real estate commercial buildings instead of passing some of the net income onto their members in lower interest rate loans or higher interest on savings. I also feel they discriminate to older members because they only count income sources and don't take into account a members ability to pay because they do not count savings, or 401, or IRA's into a persons ability to pay. They also are selective and do not do equity loans on investment properties when other credit unions and banks do. The amount of paperwork I had to do for an equity loan far exceeded what other banks require. I do business with over 6 institutions in Solano County and until Travis Credit Union starts delivering service above and beyond a normal bank (which they should because they a non-profit) , I will be removing my savings from the Credit Union in protest. read more

As of 11/15, I was aware that my account had become overdrawn $23 due to an automatic withdrawal that was suppose to be suspended (it was an oversight by a company not me). I had been out of the state working for 2 weeks and came home trying to log into my account in order to send a copy of the transaction on to the establishment that was responsible and willing to pay the fees. I couldn't' see my checking account on-line, so on 11/15 I went into the FF branch at the Texas Street location. The members service rep/clerk informed me that my account had been closed. I asked why I had not been notified and was told that a letter had been mailed to the address on file. I was not attempting to dispute that a letter had been sent, however the clerk indicated that they contacted me as if that is all and what else did I expect. So I inquired about re-opening the account and was told that wasn't possible. I asked what had to be done and they explained that she would have to call corporate and/or the rep that closed the account. I was told that I'd have to pay the $23 overdraft fee and a $25 fee to establish a new account. As I expressed frustration about the fact that I will have to reset so many other payment accounts in order to align with this potential new account, I proceeded to ask why wouldn't someone call me when I have been a customer so long (Still a question-unanswered). The clerk was very smug and aloof and repeated that I had been contacted. Her demeanor was extremely rude, as if she was ready to be done and move on. It was beyond aggravating to hear such disregard-this reason alone immediately caused me to contempt whether I really want to bank here any further. I explained that I get notifications via e-mail when/if there is a problem with my account, however if my account was going to be closed I would think that it's both good customer service as well as a precaution regarding monies due to Travis that someone would call and attempt to speak with me as your long standing customer to forewarn me that the account was scheduled to close. I'm not saying the letter wasn't sent, I just feel that it's unfortunate for me as a customer and it could be unfortunate for Travis IF I were the type of customer that would abandon my responsibility. When I asked to speak to a manager the members service rep was unresponsive and restated the details indicated in my account and the policy. I told her that I have had a savings account here since I was about 11, that I've maintained an active checking account for at least 20 years, and I have a credit card that Travis collects interest on. Again the clerk was smug and practically shrugged as if to say oh-well. I told her I would be making a formal complaint to ensure that others aren't inconvenienced like this (to add better PR and a courtesy call before closing an account), and that I would be making known that I wasn't permitted to speak to a manager. The clerk/rep was quick to say that she could get a manager, but that there wasn't really anything they could do. The manager came over and somewhat pacified me by nodding as I stated that a phone call would be both a preventative measure as well as "good customer service." It's important to note that it was approaching 5pm and neither the manager or the clerk seemed very concerned beyond wrapping up for the day. Even if there weren't any tangible suggestions or options within their authority, there interpersonal skills were drab at best. When in "Member Service" roles at least act like you care. I obviously left upset and needed a moment to decide what was in my best interests including if I wanted to open a new account or just pay my fees. The poor PR was the primary source of my ambivalence, yet my continued difficulties at other branches further compounded things. read more

Love love love! I've been banking here since 2009 and have NEVER had any issues with my accounts. The staff is SUPER friendly in the branch and up at HQ in vacaville.
