I lost a lot of money out of my account by scammers. Valley Strong's Vacaville branch helped me keep my accounts from future scams and suggested things that I can do on my own. Their security implement additional safeguards to protect my accounts security. They did all this while being very kind and not making me feel stupid. I am trying to find one reason to stay with Valley Strong. I started out when it was CMT, then Solano First. No troubles at all. When Valley Strong took over, I was in Tahoe looking forward to having a night away with my husband. Had reservations at the place, but they needed a credit card to hold. Mine was NOT working, thanks to the so-called "seamless" tradition. But I could get cash from an ATM, which came in handy since we needed to purchase gas on the way home. So we drove for three hours, to spend one hour in Tahoe, and drive home again for three hours. I joined the member council and was able to express my frustration, which helped, a little. However, we were to have four member council meetings, we had three, the third of which I was not notified. The fourth one was filling out a general survey to get more information from me. This week, someone managed to manually input one of our Valley Strong debit cards to take $3k out of our checking account. We called immediately and no one seemed to care. We told them we just mailed out bills and the checks were going to bounce. She suggested we withdraw from our savings. To top it off, none of them seemed to realize where the fraudulent money was going. First it said Discovery Pay, So, the folks on the customer help line wanted to know if we had a Discover card. Discovery Pay and a Discover card are two different entities. Then it was switched to read the money was going to Discover payments. And, after they cleared, despite our pleas asking for them to hold the fraudulent charges, it said the money went to Discovery Bank. I finally found one contact center branch member who was willing to help. The charges had already cleared. I asked her about why there were so many names linked to the transactions. She actually called the number listed, only to have phone not ring. She said it appeared pretty fraudulent to her. I have had the contact center reach out to me about fraudulent charges for a few cents. A review of our account would tell them we are not connected to Discovery Pay, a Discover card or Discovery Bank. But no one, except the young woman, wanted to help. Now, we have to wait 10 days while they investigate. Also, when I called the fraud department, I was under the impression they would also file a dispute. No such luck. Had to do that on my own after finding out there was no dispute on file. Once this nightmare is resolved, we will be looking for another financial institution after more than 30 years. I do want to give a shoutout to the wonderful people who work at the brick and mortar buildings. Always the best service. I rarely go into the buildings these days. read more

Vacaville staff have always been helpful, courteous, knowledgeable in helping me with my issues.I've had several issues that required a supervisor assistance and Juan was very helpful in helping solve my problems.Domanique,Kaylie and Juan always went over and beyond solving my problems and I was very impressed by their patients and professional service that was given to me.They all went over and beyond making sure that the issue was solved. The manager here is very rude. I wasn't given proper instructions so I called customer service and they directed me to her and she sarcastically said "you expected a formal invitation" then commented that I know the location. Of course I know the location. Lack of professionalism and am disgusted. Not even I would speak to another human being that way. Pretty straight forward of a review but if you run a business in the service industry, learn to approach and direct. read more

Okay, so they transitioned over earlier in the year. No transition is ever seamless and even I don't like learning new apps etc. But the new banking app. and in-person service has been stellar! The staff at the Vacaville Branch has always been there to answer my questions. Primarily Rebecca (Manager) and Juan. To me, they're the "A" Team. Was only with this bank less than 2 weeks when I got a scam fraud text. Through opening an account with this bank, somebody got a hold of my new phone number that I've only had for a week and a scammer sent me a text with an automated voicemail, pretending to be the bank. The two times I was in people were reporting similar scenarios, one of which their card was compromised and another about this fraud phone call. The bank is very small about the size of my living room, there is no privacy when people are opening new accounts from people walking in to see the tellers. People are not told to takeoff their sunglasses or not use their cell phones like they are often told that other banks. They don't use private rooms to open an account with anybody and everyone walking in. Can see everybody's information. I do not recommend this bank to anybody. If I could give it zero stars, I would. 0 star rating! I was with the credit union for over 20 years and never had this happen ever!!! read more

So this "change over" from Solano First into Valley Strong was supposed to be "seamless" and no issues for the people that were customers of Solano First. This whole experience has been a total mess. We were lied to about this process. I am NOT happy that my payroll check that could no longer be auto deposited is now being HELD from me as it had to be a paper check because of the disruption of services. Every billing account I have had to be amended, I had a time period of my ATM card being refused at businesses. This whole crap-storm was a huge inconvenience to myself and countless other credit union members. I heard horrible stories from other customers standing in line at the credit union trying to get their accounts and accesses straightened out. I don't know who was in charge of all these actions and of the things not working but this has been my worst banking experience ever. I am probably going to not be using this credit union any longer except for minimal transactions as I have no faith in your services at this point. Valley Strong is Valley Weak, the services here are far below what I am used to receiving from Solano First and I have been with Solano First fpr 41 years. How insulting that a paycheck issued from Solano County is not honored immediately from a 41 year customer. VERY, VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS NEW CREDIT UNION. read more

I know very little about Valley Strong. I have been banking with CMT/Solano First for over 20 years and was very happy. The transition does seem a bit chaotic, but I have been provided very good customer service so far. I am going to bank elsewhere simply because this is the second merger and I do not want to deal with yet another. But excellent online customer service. read more

First note the new name is Solano First Federal Credit Union. I've done my banking with them for nearly 30 years. I've never had a problem. So why not 5 stars? My Mother has been a member for 30+ years and yet when doing a transaction on her behalf this morning at the Vacaville branch I couldn't get 5 minutes of the Branch manager's undivided attention. She looked at, spoke to and interacted with me as if I was a telemarketer interrupting her family dinner. In the Summer of 2018 I presented a power of attorney and asked to be added to my mother's checking account to help pay her bills as she is suffering from dementia and had to be hospitalized for 2 months as a result. The teller at that time assured me that I was on her checking account and it had been updated. She made a point of showing my name on her checking account AND her savings account in the computer. Today, after 7 or 8 months of transactions, including today wherein I accessed my Mother's checking account without presenting an ID or a debit card(???), I was told I was NOT on the account and that my power of attorney allowed me access to the account but not enough to remove a hold mistakenly placed on the account by my Mother. I explained to the manager, Rebecca, that I was told I WAS on the checking account but she did not apologize for the mix-up--I guess she thinks I'm mistaken or lying; certainly none of her tellers could have made a mistake and misled me. Ok--fair enough. But also I can't get past: "you're not on the account and you cant remove the hold but here, take a bunch of her money without showing us any ID" (???) So I can have all the money I want, I just cant use the debit card to extract it? Ok. She instructed the teller to tell me that I need to have my 75-year old Mother come down and remove the hold. It was only when I spoke to her in her office that she came up with the option of me adding myself to the account as the acting power of attorney and getting my own card to access the account. I stated that she should have instructed the teller to say that in the first place and her response was not "sorry about that" but rather "I didn't think of it until just now" followed by a blank stare. Not wanting to take up any more of the manager's valuable time I left the branch. I would give zero stars for this branch although to be fair, the teller I spoke to back in June was very helpful and empathetic to my Mother's (her customer's) condition --maybe she should teach the manager something about dealing with customers read more

I was traveling abroad on vacation and informed the credit union of my plans and that I would be using my ATM card and was assured that there should be no problems. The third time I used the card I was at a train station in Hamburg at a kiosk. It did not take the card so l went to the ATM machine and card was rejected. Now I had to wait in line for an agent, and was able to use a chipped credit card, but in the mean time I missed the high speed train I needed to catch. The next train had 3 transfers to get to my destination and cost 40 euro more. We were coming off a cruise ship with 4 pieces of luggage and backpacks. It was a nightmare! I contacted solano first upon arriving home and they apologized and said that should of not happened. Well wasn't that nice of them,NOT ACCEPTABLE read more

whatever you do , do not do anything with this bank! they are horrible. the rep lied to me, i refinanced my car through them, which was the worst mistake of my life, when it was time to refi, they would not let me. my car loan is upside down now. they are horrible and the customer service is even worst. i went through a hard time, they did not care they would not help me. i am currently going to trade the car in, so i will never have to deal with them again. go somewhere else! do not do it! i was sick and put on medical leave, i could not drive, i dropped my insurance down to liability, the charged me 3,000 dollars for doing that! they did not care that i was ill.atleast i kept the insurance on!. please do not make the mistake i made by trusting this horrible company! read more
