So very bad!! Where is my credit card golden one credit union promised?! I have no way to get a hold of golden one credit union because they said my credit card had fraud on it. They told me to get a new one. So I did. I paid golden one credit union for expedited delivery by UPS and my card never came!! I called them back and they said they're sending me another new card expedited. This was days ago! Now I can't call golden one credit union because ATT canceled my phone because golden one credit union canceled my credit card. I sent golden one credit union emails and got no reply. Golden One credit union takes my money, but will not provide me service! I am out of money, and have no credit card, and no food, no gasoline, no phone!! This is just horrible! Do not finance through them!! I somehow overpaid my car loan and instead of notifying sending me my money back, they put it in an account to slowly bleed dry with service fees!!! The folks here were great. After we cancelled our loan app at Travis CU in Green Valley (do not go there, they will play you) i was beginning to lose hope id be able to get the car i wanted. Walked in here and met with Hannah, who was GREAT! She made the loan process smooth and easy and painless. Got me a good rate, and even helped save me some money. First of all, this afternoon about 3:30pm for the first time no line. I was assisted by this female cashier as soon as I walked-in. I explained to her about my Zelle account that the Recipient did not received the money I sent & showed her the printed email from Zelle that the transactions were failed. She looked at me like she was clueless until a Bald Headed Man butted in. He was very rude & sarcastic. I walked-out before I loss my composure. Instead, I drove to Vacavile Branch & I'm very grateful for Josh who took the time to help me & took care of my problem. This Fairfield Branch has the worst Customer Service !!! We should be more sensitive & helpful during this Pandemic time. This place for some reason has a very negative & hostile environment. No drive thru & parking is so tight here it's almost unnavigable. More than once I've almost been hit by someone unaware of the poor spacing in this lot. The atm is often too busy to use with lines 3 or more long. They don't offer safe deposit boxes which I like, there's fewer services than I'd like and fees 4 everything. So cashiers checks, help balancing accounts & money orders all cost u extra. Zero counter checks are available for order & some places still require checks. The staff are helpful & security is evident. I would move the whole team to a quieter location with better parking! read more

I've been with Golden 1 for at least 3-4 years now and I'm very satisfied with them. Every time I've come to this branch, I've had excellent and friendly customer service. Just like any other bank, if you go inside for service, expect a bit of a wait. And to be honest with you, the wait time here isn't as bad as some of the larger banks. Since I travel fairly frequently, I opened up another account with a "mainstream" bank, not knowing that Golden 1 partners with other credit unions across the country for your banking needs. So if that's also a concern for you, just known that you can still withdraw money and make deposits at other credit unions; however, you will likely have to do everything else online (like payments and so forth). read more

First time coming to this location, and we were warmly greeted at the door. I asked for assistance as I needed to see a banker to process a name change. I was politely told by the banker that she had a pending appointment she was awaiting, and that she would give the client 5 more minutes to arrive. She then stated that if the client didn't show she would then assist me. We waited in the lobby, and once it was established that the appointment was a no show she called me in to the office to assist me with my request. Lynette Reyes, was the Member Service Specialist III who assisted me with my request to process my name change. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough while assisting me. I was pleasantly surprised to experience the opposite of what all the reviews claimed to be a negative experience at this location. After I finished processing my name change, I even proceeded to process a transaction at the teller line. Much like my experience with Lynette, I was again pleasantly surprised. The employees here adhere to the procedures and protocols they have in place to keep you and your money safe. If everyone was as quick to leave a good review when having a positive experience, instead of just reviewing the negative experiences I believe this location wouldn't have such a poor rating. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone who banks with Golden 1 Credit Union, and I thank you Lynette for your assistance that day. read more

Looking at some of the reviews, I have to wonder if they are about some other location. I have been with Golden One for many years. I am retired, so I have more flexibility when it comes to the times I pick to go to the Golden One. Yes, sometimes there is only one teller, other times two or three. Sometimes there is a line, but I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes in the line. Better than my past experiences with Bank of America. The staff at Golden One are friendly and courteous. There is a coin collector machine at the Branch, and I have used it several times. Never had any problems regarding my account or my utilization of my debit card, or when withdrawing cash. I am the victim of identity theft and communicate with the bank if I am planning to travel to prevent problems. read more

In advance of "Move Your Money Day" in early November of this year I contacted The Golden 1 Credit Union and promptly became very disappointed with this institution. After immediately being connected the typical banker's lengthy recorded message and language option: I was placed into music-land and continued on with what now seems to be the typical big-company telephone wait. Once a person picked up, I asked if I was speaking with my local branch in Suisun City - I was not. (My local phone directory provides a number in the 916 area code.) I was denied having my called transferred to my closest branch. Apparently, all calls from customers, and potential customers are run through their call centers. This is one of the reasons why I am moving my accounts from Wells Fargo (after 20 years) and Chase... I asked if it was possible to get the number of their branch nearest my home so that I could learn a few things about their services (and to experience what their customer service felt like). I was told that no, that was not possible... such information was not given out due to "security reasons." What??? I repeated back what I thought that I heard, thinking that I was mistaken. I was not. (Upon reviewing this, I realize that perhaps I should have first taken my shoes off and placed all liquids into 3 ounce bottles before calling.) I asked to be transferred to a supervisor to verify what I'd just heard and was told that indeed, this is their policy. The call center controls any such contact, usually denying it. In addition to the supervisor confirming and restating the previously mentioned security issues, I was told that their branches are not staffed in such a way as to allow direct calls. And I was told that, in fact, their branches are understaffed and direct calls are impossible to make due to how their phone system is set up. As far as I can tell from this "1" experience, The Golden 1 Credit Union is NOT the place to move your money, or your other banking business, unless you wish to continue to be treated with this sort of corporate, big-bank indifference. Understand, I am a fairly timid 60 year-old, and not usually a picky or demanding customer - but I think that I, along with many others have decided to draw a line... Golden 1 has helped me see a bit more clearly exactly where that line is, and it ain't here. read more

What happened to quality customer service? I have my new car loan through Golden 1 and do no other banking with them. I went in to this location this evening to make my first car payment. The paper I received from G1 said, "if you have not received your coupon book you can use this to make your first payment." When I went to the available teller she asked for my ID because "the whole loan number isn't on the slip." Okay, so then why did your corporate office say this would be good enough? She didn't know. I asked in a different way, she rolled her eyes and said "because." Well what if I had mailed it in? She told me then that would be okay. So why the hell do you need my ID? I finally asked for a manager to explain it to me because it wasn't making logical sense to me. The manager said, "so we can give you a receipt. If you don't want a receipt we don't need your ID." Great! That's an actual answer...to which I told the teller. Don't ever tell me, the customer, "because" and roll your eyes at me. read more

Golden 1 credit union is not the bank for anyone who values privacy and security of their financial income. They miss handle sensitive documents and money. The bank failed to notify me as the customer of an extremely important change to my account. An error that led to a few thousand dollars being miss placed from my account. I was told consistently that customer notification was not protocol. The tellers specifically at the Fairfield Golden 1 are disconnected, have poor customer service. Particularly the young lady working on Sat 4/28 was extremely rude. I asked to speak with a manager I was told there was no manager working. I was given a card and told to call on Monday. while at the Fairfield Golden 1 I observed long waits in line. People requiring help sitting in the lobby waiting for service. The urgency to assist their customers was not there which shows a complete lack of professionalism on the part of the branch. What kind of bank are you running Mr Branch Manager? Their call 24 service personnel are either unequipped or unwilling to solve the issues presented to them. Again when asked to speak with a manager I was told they could not locate one. I find it hard to believe that Golden 1 Credit Union has no managers working but if this is truly the case be concerned for your money and business. I as a customer will not be conducting business with Golden 1 in the future if these are the standard operating procedures. read more

This is my second review of Golden1 in Fairfield. On 3Apr17, I deposited a check for $1500 via the mobile deposit app on my phone. I waited a few hours for the money to hit my account, but it continued to say Pending until 4PM, which has never happened, so I knew what was wrong(the workers are incompetent). I called them, asked where my deposit was and why it was still pending and was met with"I don't see a deposit today. How much was it? When did you say you did it?" Then she proceeded to read off previous deposits. I repeated to her that I deposited the check around 11AM, and that I'm currently looking at the app that shows the deposit is pending. The clerk really acted like it wasn't a big deal, and she was going to get off the phone without finding my deposit, like I made it up or something. I finally had to snap at her, because she just kept repeating that she "couldn't see it", so she called Tech Support, because in her words"They can see things she can't". She gets back on the line and tells me that Tech Support found the deposit(no really? You mean it didn't grow legs and walk off? No story about a teller receiving it and like my last review stated she "didn't know what to do with it so she put it in my savings acct instead of paying my car payment) and she said it would be completed and in my acct by the end of business, which I knew was a complete and utter crock, because it was already 4:30 pm. She told me end of business is 7pm. Sure as poo stinks, that deposit did NOT hit my account that day. It went in the next day AFTER they opened for the day. Do you think they refunded that day of interest on my car loan? Of course not. That's why they keep losing my deposits, because I'm trying to pay the loan down as fast as I can to get FAR AWAY FROM THEM! The tellers are rude in the branch and on the phone. When I go there I feel like I'm going to a car dealership. When I went there last year to pay off my loan with them, they were sooooo nice, saying I should refi my new car with them, not Patella, and they offered me a HELOC and a Credit Card. All that glitters is not gold. Snake oil salesmen they are. That day they finagled their way back into my lives was the first and last time they were nice to me. I'm scrimping and budgeting every dime to pay this loan off early, because I don't trust them as far as I can throw them. read more
