His workers that he claimed graduated from HVAC training school, did not know what they were doing. Charlie was not much better. He advertises himself as a licensed expert HVAC installer, but he did not know how to wire the Bosch system. He claimed it was a new model, and he had not installed it before. After we had no heat in the sub-freezing winter temperatures, he had to call the company for step-by-step instructions. The noise level of this system is unbearable and sounds like a wind tunnel. We have to increase the volume on the TV when the heat kicks on. In October he promised to install a noise reduction system in the attic (at my expense). It is now June and I am still waiting even though I have asked him numerous times when he is coming. He says we live too far away. Well, he shouldn't have taken the job if it was too far to travel to our property. The service has been terrible. At this point he will not even return my texts and calls to schedule the spring maintenance which was included in the price. Needless to say, I do not recommend this company for any HVAC work. Months later I found out he closed the business and moved out of state! How do these people sleep at night?

They were busy, but they got Sean to me within a matter of HOURS and I mean barely a few. Sean and his co-worker diagnosed and fixed the situation and gave me back a better-than-before working flushing masterpiece. I think there's a next project I want to do involving plumbing and I fully intend to give them a call: no shopping around. But I'm afraid to test it. Not a screw in handle like previous one (which he took, along with all my warranty paper work for new faucet). He claimed he was in rehab for some health issue...but that doesn't stop you from texting or leaving short messasge saying you will get back to me when you feel better. I also gave him option to refund me for faucet install and i could go to another plumber. I'm a senior, so money is very tight/limited ss income to afford another plumber to come in and start. I contacted Urban Mechanical via Yelp to see if I could get a technician to do a maintenance check…read moreon my central air A/C. It has been five years since any technician looked at it. While it is currently running (knock on wood), a guest recently remarked that the filter on my external fan unit looked dirty and that you're supposed to get annual maintenance on these units. As part of the Yelp message process, I left my contact information and provided two photos. Eventually, Urban Mechanical sent a message via Yelp to contact them via phone. I called by phone and spoke to the owner, Hector. He looked at my Yelp information and confirmed my request. He then told me that he had a 4-week backlog of appointments and apologized that he didn't have time at the moment to service my request. He said that if I texted him my contact info directly, he could reach out to me if there were any cancellations in the next 4 weeks. Although Urban Mechanical didn't have any appointment openings to service my request, I appreciate their transparency instead of just ghosting me. If they can be transparent about their scheduling, I am confident that they will be transparent about their work. EDIT: I received a call from Miguel a few days later that a cancellation happened -- he actually followed up, which doesn't always happen with other vendors. He came over at the appointed time. He had shoe covers to prevent tracking stuff indoors from his work boots! He did the inspection of the interior and exterior unit and cleaning. Miguel explained to me what he was doing and why and had no problems whatsoever in answering my questions. (I was like a kid asking "obvious" questions, but I really didn't know much about the AC system -- that exterior unit "filter" I described earlier was actually a coil.). Miguel was very thorough with the cleaning. The exterior unit was really dirty and he had heavy duty cleaner fluid and attached the bottle to my lawn hose and washed down the unit. Then, he dried it up with his towel. Miguel did find some potential mildew/mold build up, but this required installing a UV light, which was not covered in this service/inspection call (which is fine). He would prepare a proposal with several options to address that. In conclusion, Urban Mechanical has excellent customer service and does thorough work, so they deserve this 5-star review.

Called for a leaking carbon monoxide (CO) issue with an existing steam boiler that was promptly addressed by the company. However, after their visit, the CO continued to be emitted from the boiler through CO detectors, prompting the fire department and PSE&G to intervene, who also detected high readings. Today, I called to inform them that CO detection was still ongoing. The owner, an angry, short-tempered know-it-all, cut me off and yelled, "NO, THERE IS NOT, THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS MY ENTIRE LIFE. WE FIXED THE PROBLEM. PAY THE INVOICE AND WE WON'T HAVE ANY ISSUES." I firmly told him that his attitude was unacceptable and that I would not pay until the issue was resolved. He laughed manically and said, "THANKS FOR SAYING THAT YOU WON'T PAY, BUDDY. THIS CALL IS RECORDED" before hanging up. I called back and calmly reiterated that I will not pay without resolution and that following his anger and yelling, I wasn't sure I trust them to touch the boiler again. The owner laughed again, said "GREAT, WE DON'T WANT YOUR BUSINESS", claimed that I didn't have to pay the invoice, and hung up again, likely because he realized he was in the wrong. It's unfortunate that the company's initial kindness turned sour when there was any potential for accountability or conflicts with their labor. I will recommend this company only to people I hate. Our 20 yr old Rheem water heater was on it's way out ( slight leak ) so we…read morecontacted Lesco for an estimate. They came and assessed the situation and then e-mail two written estimates the next day ( one with an anode package which extends the life and warranty of the Rheem water heater, which we took . ) An appointment was set for a week or so later and the installation was completed. After a few days I took a very close look at the crimp type compression connections ( I dislike these immensely but it now seems to be standard in plumbing) and noticed a tiny drip from one side. Nothing major ( a drip formed every few hours ) but we notified Lesco and a tech came over a few days later and cut out and replaced the connection. He apologized for the inconvenience and I'm very happy with the repair. Professional conduct from start to finish, can't say enough good things about Lesco Plumbing Heating and Cooling.
