So I put it back. They said you can haggle on some prices but I don't want to have to do that. Also they said some items could not be haggled with so it's just an inconvenient way to shop. I didn't end up buying anything and crossed it off for thrift stores to visit. I will say the young guy at the counter was friendly and helpful but the other guy who I assume is the owner seems a little demeaning towards some of his staff. I overheard him talking while helping with u haul. They did have some cool clothing items but too expensive.

I just went into this location for the first time, because I was looking to donate some items…read more Based on the mini mall type of building, I was confused so walked on it to ask if there was an area in the back to drop things off or if I should bring them inside. I was greeted in less than a minute from the time I entered the store. I was able to ask about donations and was told this location is really just a store and the closest Goodwill for donations was clear at the other end of Meridian (120th or 112th -I forget and didn't have my phone to use Maps). This was not a big deal to me and I'm in no way upset. The 3 stars is based on my very limited time in the store. Decent customer service as far as I could tell. It was a very small store with registers I think towards the back (I couldn't see them). Seemed clean and presentable, just small. Nothing to write home about, but not bad. Overall, just plain average. And to me, 3 stars is average. If I go back some time in the future, I'll try to post an update based on a more thorough experience.

I brought Gabriel a designer suit that still didn't feel right after store alterations. He was pretty honest--said the best it could become was a 7/10--and then went to work. He adjusted the shoulders, chest, sleeves, lapels, which required him to move every single button. It was literally a completely different suit. And for the first time, it actually fit the way it should. Since then, I've gone back for five custom suits, multiple shirts, and my favorite, an overcoat (which I'd avoided for years because of off-the-rack fit issues). Every item has come out perfectly tailored. If fit has always been a compromise for you, it's worth seeing what Gabriel can do. Adding some photos, but I'm not a fashion/textiles photographer. It's harder than it looks.

My posture is very upright and that just makes the chest issue even more difficult. There aren't many places in the US outside of New York that do real bespoke -- patterns cut from scratch. I'm glad I found Gabriel. He has a great understanding of classic men's style and proportions. The suit he made for me is very comfortable and continues to get better as the canvas takes the shape of my body. I keep looking for areas to make micro improvements for my next project with him. But to be honest, the fit is so good I'm not sure there's much to change other than experimenting with other styles, like a double breasted. I plan on commissioning something from him every year as long as I stay in Washington. The super tight, short jacket with the bum exposed, with skinny lapels was trending for a while on off the rack clothing. Even some made to measure places make suits like this. If you are looking for a suit to wear for the next 10 years, I encourage you to give Gabriel a try and have him make something timeless for you.
