This company earned zero stars if possible. This is the second year we have rented from Treasure Realty and it will be the absolute last. First year: 8203 fifth Avenue, Topsail Island, NC The first year the property was unclean. And I don't mean it was dusty. It was downright dirty. The carpets were beyond filthy, so much that we all wore shoes inside the entire week. The mattresses were likely 20 years old. Fridge was dirty. Dishes were in cabinets dirty. Sinks and toilets horrible. Bad bad bad. We decided to try again. Because things happen. 2021: Second year: 1218 N. Shore drive, surf city, NC This year we paid a substantial sum to stay in a beach front property. What a mistake. It was worse than the first year. The air conditioning never got lower than 75 degrees. It was like sleeping in a personal pocket of hell. The smell! Let me tell you about the horrific smell!! It was like a punch in the face of cat urine each and every day. First thing you smelled when you walked in. Barf. It took us a full day to clean the home to have a livable smell. The hot water pressure in the kitchen sink and second shower was non-existent. Dripped from faucets. Maddening. Washing machine smelled like a teenage boy's personal locker room. The light cover in room 2 was missing. Exposed wiring. Light in room 3 did not work at all. Fan in second bath did not work. Refrigerator was filthy upon arrival. Gate to beach from back porch needed the muscles of two men to open and close. Outdoor "shower" was a short hose, hooked to absolutely nothing. Bathroom 2 looked like a prison bathroom, complete with a chipping tub. Turning on the water was like trying to solve a rubix cube. And then trying to turn it off was a lot of fun also. It was not a usable bathroom whatsoever. Bathroom 1 had enough mold on the shower curtain to cure polio. Phone did not work. When we contacted the company we were told they came into the joke to check for these issues. No one came. This was a lie. Reported to BBB to attempt a fair resolution. We were ignored by the company when they text and we responded w the above noted issues and voicing our displeasure with the proposed "resolution." We stopped into the rental Office to Inquire about long term rentals and were abruptly told there was only one and it had 6 applicants. We asked If there were any known to be coming available and was directed to "keep checking the website " .... Essentially the armpit waive given by a poorly trained employ and the Blow off by an agent too lazy to get out of their chair and greet us to even ask what we might be looking for. The service is soooo hit or miss, that it is hard to ignore. They lost our check, then they didn't lose our check. Then they lost our reservation and were indigent. Until I found our cancelled checks, then they found us again. I felt like they pulled the rudest northerners (I am one, so I can say it...) and plopped them at the Treasure Realty customer "service" desk. We haven't even checked in yet, and I'm dreading our encounter. Update: as promised, our place hit the skids on day 2. The first day we called to report a number of issues including a broken ladder that about killed me on the bunk beds. They came out to "fix" it. Subsequently it broke again. In my pictures, you'll see the more major problem reported Monday at 3 pm. We tried to limp it along, eventually the door tore off of the jamb. We have rented through TR for the past 20+ years always at the Villa Capriani, until they partnered with a company called VACASA in 2022. The rental rates have almost doubled now for the 2023 rentals at the Villa and in some cases more than doubled. We've read many complaints from renters about this company and I'm sure the homeowners will be the one's suffering when their rentals sit empty during vacation season. read more

Excellent place to vacation, we go at least once a year and sometimes more! We've always enjoyed our stay in an oceanfront home with our entire family and had a wonderful time. Unfortunately we booked (4346 Island Dr) with Treasure Realty in Sneade's Ferry and the home was in extremely poor condition and unclean. Treasure Realty and its agents minimized our concerns and did not address the unclean condition of our vacation property during our week's stay and only offered a discount after we filed a complaint with BBB. We chose to refuse their $200 and reserve the right to review the property. Our view was magnificent but you'll see from the pictures of the property why we chose to spend the majority of our time outside even after all 9 of us thoroughly cleaned what we were able. We've rented several times in the past from Treasure Realty and it was always great. It never occurred to me to check Yelp reviews this time but obviously I should have. We rented St. Regis 3303 last week and it was a huge and expensive disappointment. This condo might have been a nice place years ago, but it now shows signs of serious and long term neglect. Lighting is terrible. Floor tiles are loose. The toilet overflowed in the middle of the night with nothing but a liquid flush (and the plunger right next to it tells me this may have happened before). Furniture is dated, feels cheap, and is in generally poor condition. Air conditioning doesn't seem to reach the second bedroom so it stays pretty warm. The dryer barely works. The place reeked of spoiled seafood when we arrived. The source was the kitchen trash can, which had a new clean trash bag in it so someone ignored it, and I started my vacation scrubbing a disgusting trash can. The windows are filthy and the whole place is in desperate need of a thorough deep cleaning. One of the cheap plastic chairs on the patio is badly broken. There is absolutely no way this place was even close to being worth what we were charged. Really, there's no way this should be on the rental market at all, at least not until it gets some serious attention. Shame on Treasure Realty for duping customers into renting a place like this. read more

Absolutely horrible experience with the rental of beach house. We frequently go to Topsail for holiday, and have never had an experience as awful as dealing with Treasure Realty. Upon arrival the hot tub was green and had large amounts of sand in it (we had paid an additional $200 for "activation" and fresh fill and had verified with the manager the night before that it would be ready upon arrival). They sent a technician out and he added some chlorine and said it was normal. This is definitely not accurate. We have rented homes with a hot tub numerous times and never had this occur. No refund or apology was offered. We definitely should have been refunded the hot tub activation fee since it was unused the entire trip (water stayed discolored). The indoor jacuzzi tub was also inoperable. They offered to send a technician to diagnose, but the last thing I want while on holiday is to have a service person in our living area. Unfortunately the nightmare was just beginning. We stayed during the renourishment project and we were assured that the work was heading away from our rental. Upon day 1 we realized the central hub of the project was infact 2 lots away from the rental. We were awoken every morning at 6 am sharp to the sounds of dump trucks unloading sand. The constant beeping and smell of diesel fuel from 4 to 5 front loaders continued daily (including Saturday) until 6pm. I reached out to the manager, Tyler, to inform him of the status and his response was "thanks for the info". I feel we were intentionally misinformed about the scope of the renourishment, and if we had the facts could have saved ourselves a lot of disappointment. As if this was not enough incompetency for the week, mid-afternoon while preparing lunch a relator from a different company entered the rental without our permission using the lock code that treasure reality provided her! Our poor 7 pound dog was going crazy and it was very upsetting. An unannounced entry to the home we thought we had privacy in! I called TR and they said they didn't realize they were showing the home to potential buyers that week! WOW! We were scheduled to stay in 4420 Island Drive 07/02/22-07/09/22 My family and I have been vacationing in Topsail Island,NC for 60 years. I have used Treasure Realty before, but never again. This is the worst trip we have ever experienced. Never were we alerted to the conditions we were getting ready to go into. They know what took place. They will have to live with this . Treasure Realty did admit to making a mistake by not notifying us before we arrived. We kept the text messages. Their own people thought it was wrong when they came to look. We have been booking vacations to topsail for 10 years now but within the last year treasure has outsourced its vacation rentals to another website and the prices have skyrocketed. I was looking at 422 Hampton colony circle two weeks ago and since this new company took over the price of the house has doubled, charging ridiculous fees and increasing the base cost of the house by $2000 dollars. When we arrived at our unit at Villa Capriani, unit 109, no cleaning had been done. There was coffee in the coffee pot and coffee stains as well as dried egg on the countertops. The fridge hadn't been cleaned. They insisted that the property had been inspected. Both recliners in the front room were old and so broken down, we had to drag a chair from the bedroom to sit in. Rugs are old and stained. Pillows were all stained. We had to go out and purchase pillows! They sent a cleaning crew out the next day. We have been coming to Topsail island for 20 plus years, the scenery is always amazing!! It was our first time with this particular rental company, also our last!! Dust, dirt and mold in multiple places. Worst part was air conditioning quit working when it was 95 degrees outside. We called the realtor and they said they could "maybe" get someone out the same day. At first they said that "opening the windows could cause further damage to the unit and disallow a repair." This is our 16th trip to Topsail Island. It is the first (AND LAST) time we will ever rent from Treasure Realty. (It is also the most we have paid for a week's stay) The property (Ocean Green) at 538 Ocean Drive was in a great location & the bed was very comfortable. That is all the good points. As for the bad...the house was filthy. Dirt on the walls & doors, both ovens were so disgusting I would never use them, there was a lot of dust & dead bugs laying around, the sink was scummy, the water & ice dispenser on the fridge had to be cleaned as well as the washing machine. The washing machine was in the basement under a burnt out bulb (no spares) & we had to use a flashlight to use it. ALL the kitchen cabinets were jammed full with dented, dirty pans & there was no room at all for our stuff. I have contacted Treasure Realty (& sent pictures), but have had no response. Biz and Amye Baker cost my wife and I our dream home. We submitted an offer which was accepted in email correspondence (without having the contract signed). Then, less than 24-hours later, a higher offer from an "in-house buyer" (read: dual agent), in which the listing agent could draw commission on the buyer and seller, was accepted. They *allegedly* gave the seller the option to allow us to counter offer (which we gladly would have at over the asking price of the home) and, per the Bakers, the seller "declined." Ultimately, we feel our offer may have *allegedly* been used as leverage to gain a higher offer from one of their agency's buyers and then the seller was convinced not to accept any other offers. These were very suspicious and potentially unethical practices. An open investigation has been filed with the NC Real Estate Commission to look into the matter. Save yourself some true heartache and avoid this agency. read more

The worst rental agency I have ever dealt with . My family has vacationed for the last 20 years in nc for Thanksgiving . We decided to use treasure realty . When we arrived the place was not thoroughly cleaned. Dusty throughout and dirty dishes in the cabinets. Gnats flying all around , stained couches, Cheerios under the couch . Day 2 into our visit the breaker to the refrigerator and dishwasher tripped . I called the care team to report the outage along with the gnat problem. I was told they could not guarantee a repair guy but would contact the owner about having repairs to the appliances . I told them that I thought it was only a tripped breaker if someone would tell me where it was I could flip the switch myself . I told the lady that I had food in the refrigerator and did not want the food to be lost. I asked to speak to someone else above her . I spoke with Lori who told me to not worry a repair guy would come and check the breaker in 1 to 1/2 hour . To go about my day . I returned in 2 hours and no repair guy had arrived . I called again and spoke with some one else who had no idea of my situation . I found the breaker myself and the power was restored. I contacted the office to tell them . No one ever called to find out if everything was working fine or addressed the gnat situation. I will never ever rent from them again !!!! 842 villas drive !!! To the owner !! Where do I start. 11 of my family rented a beachfront house at 2204 So. Shore Drive in Surf City. Paid $5500 for the week. We unloaded my Jeep and put the luggage on the bed. Was the worst bed I've ever slept on. I dont know how it was still standing. I sat down on and it made bad squeaking noises with the very lightest movement and the smallest queen size I've ever seen. Each day I slept in it made me hurt even worse. Every time one of us moved, it woke up the other one. Now let's start on the livingroom furniture. There was a couch, a recliner and 2 nasty chairs that I wouldn't put out for the homeless. Nasty dirty, stained and unfit for setting on. Went to pull the bed out on the sofa, it was covered in sand. I was afraid to look at the bed on it. Accidentally moved one of the chairs and the floor under it was filthy where it had not been moved for cleaning. The banister on the back deck facing the ocean was so loose, one could've literally kicked it right off with no force on it. The floor of the deck was in disrepair also. The second day there, I got stuck in the homes elevator. Called the number for the realtor on the weekend, nothing could be done but call 911. A family member kept messing with the buttons, and was able to get me out. Found out I was claustrophobic in those situations. The downstairs was so hot at night that it was hard to sleep. I wondered why box fans were supplied in all of the bedrooms. There were 2 ottomins that were supposed to fold out and slept on but, I was afraid to fold it out because they looked like they were picked up from someone's trash. Appliances were junk. There was an electrical box with exposed wires. My husband went to the office before we left to talk to someone about everything but it being 4th July weekend, no one was available. Receptionist said she would report the issues and have someone get back to us. My husband called the owner of realty company and has never received a phone call back. We also found out that this house and a couple beside of it were not even supposed to be built but, I guess money talks. We're not looking for any money but, just some acknowledgement that the issues will be addressed. First impressions are everything and wow. Treasure Realty should be ashamed to have their name on this house. Was the most awful place I've ever seen. This was the third time we've been to Topsail. Love it there. My family and I rented 4th street 4007 in Surf City, NC for a week and this place was disgusting. Dog hair everywhere, musty dog smell, roaches, lights on the deck not working, appliances not working, a rusted shower head etc. I could go on and on. Employees would come everyday (who were nice) would try to resolve the issues but this ate into our vacation time and the issues were not resolved during our stay. We were told by management that we would receive a compensation package. After days of waiting to hear what the package would be, came out to $50... I couldn't believe it. $50 of all the the time fixing this dirty house. We were told the house was habitable - "if a ceiling fell then that's when we would give more" that's what we were told by an employee... I couldn't believe my ears. A ceiling should fall on my family before I receive a good compensation package? This company does not hold their rentals to any standard. As long as you have a roof over your head that's all that matters. When we ask for a manager to give us a call back, no one would call us back. I am a fair person. I worked hard to get to a place where I can take time off for my family to have a decent vacation. I believe many families are just like me. The fact that this company didn't have the decency to ensure that the house was clean and appropriate for a family to stay in BEFORE the family got there then had the audacity to say that it was "habitable" is insane. I didn't pay for habitable, I paid for a nice clean vacation house with working appliances. My biggest issue was that when we would ask to speak to a manager no one would call us back. Who knows maybe they have other properties that are better than this one... but I wouldn't risk it and I wouldn't recommended this company to my worst enemy. The joint driveway is filled with screw nails each day that I had to pick up to avoid a flat tire. We had to bring everything. No linens, towels, paper products, cleaning products, toilet paper, paper towels, soap...absolutely no supplies. The air conditioning did not work for 2 days on the main floor. The washer made a huge noise during the spin cycle, no beach chairs or even beach toys for children to be found. I have rented beach homes for over 20 years and this is the worst experience by far. Found glass and popcorn on the floor. There was a tobacco dip can under the bed. Moldy pillow, shower curtains, closets and ceiling. Outdoor porch furniture was nasty. Cup holders in recliners were dirty. Broken? Air conditioner filter was so clogged it didn't cool for 3 days. Thermostat never worked. Dryer vent looked like and presented fire hazard. We had several problems with Treasure Realty during our stay. The unit itself was great. Our issues started with not receiving a second parking pass as we had requested. The key card to get you through the gates to the pool areas didn't work. Treasure Realty stated in a text we would have to just wait until the next day to get the card re-scanned. We called/texted at about 9:30 AM. Therefore, we were unable to use the pool or get to the beach through the facility. The concern about the second parking pass was just ignored. We also got stuck in the elevator on our first night for about five minutes. Told this to Treasure Realty and their reply was "are you stuck in it now." There was no statement like "sorry about your inconvenience we will pass this on to the building's management." Also, had a problem with the lien service, but one call resolved that issue and they responded the same day. And, that was on a Sunday. I think Treasure Realty could learn something from the lien company about customer service. We asked for an adjustment on our bill and of course, we got no response. Each time we ask someone all they would say was they would pass our request on to a manager. I will not use Treasure Realty again. The best judgment of a company is how they respond to customer service issues and Treasure Realty failed completely in this category. read more

They managed a beach house that we rented this year. Prior to check in, the customer service was adequate/good. Unfortunately upon arrival the home was so filthy dirty; visible sand/dirt/debris, food, dog hair and actual trash, that we had to ask them to come back and clean again. Even after that, we still had to clean, again. In addition to the house not being clean it also had extremely large cockroaches. They offered to have an exterminator come in during our stay, but at this point we were just ready to go and left our trip early. read more

I'm rating the property management (long term rentals) only. I rented a small house in July 2016. In the 10 months I lived in the house, there were 5 separate issues that came up, which I reported immediately. None of them were ever fixed. The worst was when the stove top cracked and I couldn't use it for 2 months. The thing that did go well was that they found a renter to take over the house when I asked to be released from my lease. Only after I vacated the house did they bother to fix the stove. Although the NC law requires refund of the deposit within 30 days, I had to ask for it twice, and threaten to go to small claims court in order to get it. The check was dated 60 days after I vacated. I wanted to give this company the benefit of the doubt since some of the comments are dated and most are in relation to vacation homes. I am planning to move to NC this year and stopped in their office to inquire about some listings on their site. On one side they do buying/selling and in the other building they do rentals. I then inquired some information for homes that would be available in the summer. The woman sitting in front did not greet me upon entering until I approached her. She said that I would need to talk to another person since she was unable to help me... strange, but okay. I then spoke to a woman named Dara who I presume is the main contact. She was very straightforward and not very personable. I also seemed to have caught her off guard as she was eating in her office. If anything I felt like I was inconveniencing her by making her leave her office. She showed me the homes available within my date range and that was it. Didn't really give me other options or ask if I was looking in other zip codes. I then informed her I would like to see one of the rentals prior to submitting an application. She said she would need someone to escort me onto the property and then asked my availability. She stated she would have someone be available to take me to the property the following day and if morning or afternoon worked best. I said afternoon time would be preferable. That interaction was in the end of April... it is now mid May and I still have not heard back or even received any acknowledgement since the day I walked into their offices. By the lack of professionalism, it appears I have dodged a bullet with this company. As a home owner, I would not want to be represented in this manner to potential tenants if my home has still not been leased. I have also requested information via their website and have not received any response. At this rate, I highly doubt or anticipate any response. If they are not eager for my business, how eager would they be to tend to any maintenance or service if I were a tenant? No thanks! read more

I will start out by saying we've rented from Treasure Realty 5 time prior to today's check in and have never had a problem so we are not the complaining type. 2376 New River Inlet Rd is in deplorable condition and filthy. The place smells musty. The garage is filled with sand and the ceiling is falling down. The air conditioners are all broken, central AC and mini splits, except 1. There's a reason there a box fans all around. There's water pouring down the wall from one of wall AC units. They tried to hide the fact the place was never cleaned. The cleaning people came while we were there and never vacuumed, never cleaned the mirrors, left hair in the showers, and left all dead roaches on the floor even after being told the location of them. There are at least 4 roaches on the floor, the dishwasher is broken, and the sliding glass door has a sign on it that says broken. We called the "property care team" who came out and left without any communication and without even looking at 2 of the units. Tracey at the office said we can leave or stay and see if the owner will give us any refund at the end of the week. She sailed by the fact that Treasure Realty has a portion of our money as well. They told us they had no more properties to rent us and we called Ward who is also sold out or we would have hightailed it out of this disgusting dump. We drove 10 hours to be told to go home or deal with it. This owner puts absolutely zero money into his property and Treasure falsely advertises the property through staged photos and cropping of the abhorrent conditions and blatantly states the law says they have to be on the owners side. Hoping these issues are resolved quickly and that we can post a positive update to this review but for now, if we had any other place to stay, we would. RUN, don't walk away from this property. read more

While the house we rented through Treasure Realty is a prime location, it seems as though both the owner and management company stop right there. The house is so run down and not taken care of in the least. It's roach infested, zero air filters, old dirty ones were stuffed in the closet. Outdoor shower was so flooded when we got there it flooded the entire garage. The garage is so dirty and nasty, open to the public, no lock. The kitchen is designed for surfer dudes/campers at best. Thank God I brought things to cook in, with and my own coffee maker. Expired water/air filters. Lights that didn't work, TVs didn't work with zero remotes. Broken door to the ocean side patio that has a hand written sign, do not use. Zero patio furniture, unlike the pictures. The front stairs were missing most of the flip strips. Travertine that is in humid weather and rain storms gets ridiculously slippery. My 7 year old nephew slipped and landed on his back. These people are going to have an enormous lawsuit one day of the "wrong people" come in. Thank God we had a few doctors in the house to take care of him. So, if you are a camper and 20, this might be the place for you to crash with your buddies. We, on the other hand, are in our mid 40's,, all professionals with 8 children total ranging from 4-13. I called and called and called the management company. They came in the first day, were wearing no masks. I asked them to please put on masks, they said they had none and they had to run back to the office to get them and they'd be right back. They came back 48 hours later and 5 phone calls. They fixed 2 total things from my list. Such a major disappointment when we were paying $1000 a day. You'd think they'd be a bit more accommodating. When we turned in our keys, they begged us not to write a review that someone would call us immediately to sort things out. I'll give you one guess if they called.... Hence this very honest and true review. The location of the house.... You can't beat. We arrived on a Saturday and reported the problem with the pool. After 4 days and several more calls the pool guy showed up and tried to blame us for the problem. My family and I recently returned from our lovely stay in North Topsail on Island Road. House right on the beach, who could ask for more, right? Since this was our 1st rental outside of a family home on DE shore, we were very surprised by the upcharges (sheets & towels not included in the quoted weekly rental rate) and non-disclosure on what you don't get with your rental - No beach towels at a beach house! Really!!! 1st call into management office with our list of items needed resulted in drop off of kitchen towels. 2nd call resulted in trash and recycle bins emptied. (They were both overflowing when we arrived - not good) Items never corrected - replacement of 2 broken lounge chairs (9 adults were present, 4 loungers total) and light bulbs in master bathroom never replaced. Next time I'm going to ask for room measurements, as the house was much smaller than we expected by the photos. And ask what you have to provide on your own; ie, trash bags, dishwasher soap and TP if you use a lot. I would have preferred to have an agent meet us on the property so our issues could have been immediately addressed rather that making frequent calls to the office. Rented from them the first time this year in Topsail. The house we rented was on the sound side and pricey at $1900. When we arrived at 3pm we were told the house wasn't ready. I drove by at 3:45 and saw the cleaning crew was still there. At 4:05 we got a text it was ready. I could not smell any cleaning products and the house was not exactly clean. The shower liner was so moldy I immediately went out and bought a new one. Weirdly the cleaning crew showed up an hour later with another one- I had not reported it. The floors were swept but it was barely clean. The couch was so gross we put towels over it before we sat on it. The carpet in the master was nasty- stained, pieces missing out of it. The whole place needs some help. It has the odor of old dirty couch- you know it when you smell it. We had to call maintenance 3 times in 24 hours- the door had completely fallen off the closet and was just laying by the wall, the spigot leaked to the point water sprayed everywhere when you used it and the bathtub was so clogged water was up to your calves when you showered. Treasure was responsive for some things but the closet door never was fixed. The whole place was subpar for the price and I've been renting different places for years so you expect a certain level of meh in these places- this one was just bad. The seating at the top level was not enough for everyone because what was there was broken. The only usable outdoor space was off the master on the level where the bedrooms were so not a great layout- not their fault but the furniture needs replacing. Every blind was broken in some way or rigged to stay up. The whole place is so not worth the money. I get as property managers they probably get some kind of budget from the owner but this place is buyer beware! FYI there were no reviews of this place on their website probably for a reason. Oh and the toaster oven didn't work either. This place is on Shell court in Pleasant Cove- do not let the photos fool you like I did! read more

The 2 rating instead of 1 is because we have rented several times from Treasure with no problems. This time we had problems. The ad was unclear about the elevator. We did not realize it did not go to3rd floor. Only 1st. We had 2 handicapped people. Not good. They had nowhere else to put us. Washer overflows due to not being put together properly. 4 of us on hands and knees sopping up a flooded 2nde floor and kitchen on 1st floor. I am 70 yrs old I don't do this at home and I am on vac. My husband managed the stairs with heart condition scaring us all to death. A few cubes of ice a day from freezer. The unit had 5 bedrooms, to accomodate a lot of people. A couch, a hard wooden bench and a small chair in living room. We were refunded a lousy $234 for all our inconvience. read more

I would advise to find another company to rent from in the Topsail and Sneads Ferry area. Very unprofessional and will do what they can to not give deposits back on long term rentals. When under a contract with 2 months remaining I moved out and they were trying to find another tenant. They raised the rent $125.00 as soon as I moved out and made it very difficult for another person to rent as this is certainly not worth the money. Rent has went up for all the apartments in Pelican Cove and they feel like they are being pushed out. Cockroaches are an everyday issue and the tenants are stuck with the extermination bill if you want it taken care of. Hate to say it but slum lord at its finest. All about the money and not the tenant or the apartments. No upkeep, very outdated and not wanting to fix anything. read more

Would choose a different realty company next time. This was our first time renting from Treasure Realty and quite possibly the last. We thought if we paid more from larger rental group, we would not experience any problems with our condo. Topsail Island is a wonderful place to go on vacation. Upon check in, which was an hour later due to extra "Covid" cleaning; we received the wrong keys. Only one key fit and we had to wait over an hour to get in our condo. So that is over 2 hours later than the original check in of 3 pm. The refrigerator smelled like fish. While making the beds, we noticed trash on the floor (nose strip on side of bed) and trash behind the dresser. The floor was sandy and looked like it had not been swept. There was food under the couch in the living room. I had to ask the rental office for a broom and it didn't arrive for a couple of days. There was only one toilet brush and neither toilet looked like they had been cleaned. I am not sure what is included in the extra hour of "Covid" cleaning, but they may want to investigate that. There were also basic things that need to be in the condo that were missing or in bad condition. There were no oven mitts. The knives that were there could not cut ice cream. On the second day our air conditioning went out. It would not cool and the temp outside was 89. It took almost 5 hours before someone fixed the air. The man that came was very nice and had it fixed quickly. The balcony doors were broken. One would not open (the one in the living room) and the other would not lock. This problem was fixed quickly, but it should have been fixed before we arrived. Most of these problems could have been avoided if the unit was inspected properly. After reading the guest book it seems we're not the only ones that have had problems with their rental. Preventative maintenance, better housekeeping, and a more responsive team would assist in making these issues non-existent. Parking at Shipwatch is a nightmare. There are tags to put in your car and there are postings that say, "towing is enforced", yet there was never any parking and we never saw anyone get towed. . Over half the cars did not have tags on them. The weekend was worse. There were only a few of the public accesses open and people were parking anywhere they could. Most people have one to two vacations a year. We work toward a trouble-free week with our family and friends. Customer service at Treasure Realty needs to understand the frustration when there are problems that come up and try to be more compassionate. Everyone except for Kelly at the Sneads Ferry office was very passive and acted like we were bothering them. She was the only one that got anything done. Topsail Island is a wonderful place to spend your vacation, but you would be wise to look elsewhere for a rental. read more

FIRST, we showed up to our rental (that was "ready") and it was DISGUSTING. There was pee on the toilet seat and the floor. There was toilet paper stuck under the lid and in the toilet bowl itself. There was some sort of red sauce on the steps of the bunk beds, crushed up what looked like chips on the futon in the living room, and the floor had stuff all over it. There was NO WAY this place was "professionally cleaned". (Which is a fee/service that YOU PAY FOR.) Because of COVID, we brought cleaning supplies and it took us about 45 minutes to clean everything. I called the office to let them know that this unit had obviously been missed or that the cleaning people were simply not doing their job and they (office) offered to have the cleaning people come back. I kindly said no because 1.) we had already spent the time cleaning it ourselves and 2.) If the cleaning people marked THAT as clean.. I didn't want them back anyway. They apologized and said that I would be reimbursed for the cleaning fee that I had paid for. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. SECONDLY, about an hour and a half into being in the rental - the AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING so I called the office. Second time in 2 hours. By this time they were closed, but they have an after hour number to text and someone will respond. They responded very quickly and said they would have a tech come out and take a look. Well. No one ever showed up. Several hours later I texted AGAIN and they apologized and said that the tech must have got hung up at another call. Okay, things happen. I understand that. HOWEVER, they said someone from the team would be coming out to bring a portable AC unit and assured me that it was just a temporary fix. Two young persons came out and brought the portable AC unit - but unfortunately it had to be taped out of the sliding door so we would not be able to open/use-utilize the ocean front balcony. NEXT: Well, by Tuesday (day #4 with the portable AC unit) we still had not heard from TREASURE REALTY. We still had the portable unit that was suppose to be temporary. So I called the office, yet again, to see what was going on with 1.) the AC and 2.) The cleaning fee that I was already told that I would be getting back. I spoke to someone from the office that I had not previously talked with, and like everyone else - he was nice. BUT NICE DOES NOT GET THINGS FIXED!!! This man apologized about everything and said that not only would he expedite a ticket for the tech BUT HE WOULD TALK WITH THE OWNERS OF THE CONDO TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COMPENSATE FOR THE THINGS WE HAD TO DEAL WITH. I was already a bit upset because this was day 4 and I felt like a nagging wife calling these people, but things were not getting done. And guess what? THAT CONTINUED. I never heard back from Treasure Realty. We stopped calling. We stopped texting. A tech never came out. The portable "TEMPORARY" ac unit stayed. The cleaning fee was never given back. Check out was Saturday but we ended up leaving a day early. It was storming all morning Friday so we were stuck inside and between the mildew smell and the humidity inside the condo - it just wasn't worth staying for one more day. Honestly, I have never been so happy about leaving a vacation. Saturday morning I called Treasure Realty because I needed answers and my money back. Obviously I was not expecting to get a full refund but I was already told I would be reimbursed. I spoke to several people before being transferred to Josh who is the property manager. Again, this is Saturday - day 1 getting home. So, I was on the phone with Josh for quite some time. He SOUNDED sincere with his words and said that he was sorry for all of Treasure Realty because my family's experience with them should not have been the way that it was. Josh told me that he understood where I was coming from and just kept apologizing. He said that I definitely deserved some sort of compensation (not only because I was already told that from someone else) but because Treasure Realty did a poor job. That he didn't want us to "have a bad taste in our mouths". He was saying all the right things to calm a customer. BUT. That's all it was. Words without action. Josh told me that because it was Saturday, they were very busy checking in/out guests. He said that he would talk with brokers on site to come up with a reasonable amount to refund and would try to get back to me later in the day but worst case scenario - it would "definitely" be Monday. Well Monday came and went. I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt so waited until Wednesday to call back. Called back and talked to Josh, again. He apologized and said he would call me back by the end of business with a number. Well. Now it is Friday, the week after that. Day 14 of being home. Josh never called back. Treasure Realty never called back. No one. This place is a joke. I can't even bring myself to call them anymore. So please, please, please. Use somewhere else. Do not go here. read more

AVOID Treasure Realty!!!!! They painted over a rotted railing on the third floor porch. A family member leaned on it and the thing popped off. Thankfully she grabbed onto something before she fell 3 stories to her death! Maintenance came out....instead of replacing the board, they added screws. Wow. Wifi was wrong and they never answered to fix. Outlets didnt work in kitchen for a while. Pool was locked for 2 days, no notice. Communication about check in was pitiful. "Do not show up until you get a text" and come to find out we wouldn't get a text. Thankfully I showed up anyways. Signs everywhere that basically do not call w/out an emergency and an emergency is "a leak that cannot be contained with a bucket." Just.....rude and could care less. NEVER again. read more

We rented 1255 New River Inlet from Treasure Reality the week of July 11th. Our dishwasher was broken the entire week. I called maintenance everyday and they kept promising to find out when it would be fixed and keep me updated. They did not call me back at all! I had to keep calling and calling and they finally admitted the part would not be in this week, so therefore we have no dishwasher all week! Unacceptable! I would not recommend renting from Treasure Reality! They have no customer service and won't fix maintenance issues! read more

This company is a joke. Our family booked 3 separate units in the same building over 2 months ago and now within 2 weeks, two of our reservations (that begin just 8 days from now) have been canceled because the units won't be ready due to the hurricane 9 months ago. I was able to get a new reservation in a neighboring building (although I did have to pay an extra $200+ for a nearly identical 2 bedroom unit) and now my sister's reservation is cancelled entirely and there are no other units available in the same complex. She can book something else through them, but for significantly more money and not in the same complex. And they try to argue that we can't hold them responsible for an "Act of God"......the hurricane was an act of God. This clownshow making the units available for rent without knowing that they would be available is absolutely 110% NOT an act of God. This is the act of a company that doesn't care about the people they are taking money from. Had we known there was any possibility these units would not be ready, we never would have reserved them, but that was never mentioned at any point when we were booking the units. We would have booked units that were for sure going to be available or booked elsewhere. 8 days before the trip. Think about that. It's absurd. They could have advised us a month ago that this was a possibility so we could make other reservations. But then we might have cancelled and reserved elsewhere! It's incredibly inconsiderate and truly unconscionable. Simply ridiculous. They will never get another penny from our family and hopefully not from yours either. read more

Play Topsail Rental Roulette with Treasure Realty. Pay top-dollar while doing it. You MIGHT get lucky and get a rental portrayed accurately on their site. We didn't this time (our last). You may choose to report the dirt, mold and other deficiencies to them, then spend your vacation letting a parade of maintenance personnel in and out of the rental during your stay. Your fellow guests will adore you for it. This is what Treasure Realty expects. Will they fix anything before you rent? Well, that's not their style. A used toilet brush near the front door was an especially nice touch on arrival. Almost as nice as the broken grill and trash left for us. The mold and marginally functional appliances add to the luster. Enjoy watching your kids pull wood splinters from the deck furniture...and this is Topsail....you don't need sliding doors that actually lock. Nuevo-ghetto. Treasure Realty is the best ever. I write this review as a homeowner who entrusted Treasure Realty to handle our rental property. I have no knowledge of how they deal with sellers or renters - vacationers or long-term tenants. I can only speak to their stunning incompetence as a property management company. We left our home spotless. It's a newer property, we deep cleaned everything before we left and gave it fresh paint. Our first tenant was a short-term renter who had been displaced by Florence. They stayed three months while their home was repaired. Prior to move-out, TR was supposed to do a walk-through inspection of the property to make sure it was properly cleaned, no signs of neglect, safety hazards, etc., according to their own very specific, very reasonable move-out inspection standards. Unfortunately no one connected with property management bothered to schedule a date for the move-out inspection and nothing was mentioned to the tenant. The tenant told me they dropped off the keys at the TR office, was told they were good to go, and as such turned off water, electric, and sewage. Upon realizing their mistake, property management contacted us and let us know what had gone wrong. Naturally we were very understanding - everybody makes mistakes. The tenants rightfully did not feel the responsibility to turn back on the electricity or water, we refused to rake them across the coals for a miscommunication at the hands of TR, and we expected TR to assume responsibility for the error and turn back on the electricity and water for the day they needed. They never once offered to do so. They claimed to do the inspection sans water or electricity, said everything looked fine, and the new tenant came to move in two weeks later. The new tenant found the place so lacking and so unclean he refused to move in until it was cleaned properly. Humiliated and feeling backed into a corner, TR told us they would have to hire a professional cleaning service to come in and re-clean - of course all on our dime. We naively gave them - again - the benefit of the doubt and went ahead with the professional cleaning. Upon his move-in, the tenant found several things broken, unsafe, and in immediate need of attention. He sited them and we frustratingly paid even more toward things that should have been fixed by the first tenant had PM advocated for us the way they were supposed to. As a result of this negligence we asked that, from then on, property management take pictures of anything needing to be fixed and pictures during move-outs. We were told that that would be impossible and that our request for documentation and proof was unreasonable. We then decided to terminate our property management agreement with the company and move forward with a much more professional property manager. We should have ended our agreement far earlier - chalk it up to first-timers mistake. I wish we had gone with a better agency in the first place. This places has been nothing but problematic. They are disorganized, untrustworthy, irresponsible, and incredibly unprofessional. Learn from our mistake. read more

Soundfront house was newly painted inside with updates. Mattresses new and we all slept well on them. Biggest issues were housekeeping finished later than 3pm after realty told us house was ready; elevator didn't work so had to carry everything up two flights of stairs. Called emergency no and got quick response but couldn't get elevator fixed till 2 days later. Sectional couch needs to be replaced- old and lumpy. Chair in sitting area needs repairing for loud squeaking. All other furnishings adequate. Poor housekeeping especially in the middle of COVID-19: carpeted stairs not vacuumed, nail clippings and food under coffee table, hairs found in bottom of freezer drawers and bathroom drawers. First time using this realty and going to this beach. Likely not to ever return. Suggest linen service include bath mats and replace all towels- they are too worn! read more

We have been staying at different rental properties up and down the East Cost for years with family and friends. We were a group of 11. This will be the last time we choose this company and I would NOT recommend them to any one. We had people drive in from Indiana, Pennsylvania and Texas for this vacation. Soon after we arrived and were able to get into the house, the company called and said we all had to leave because the inspectors would not inspect the house with anyone there. All the cars and people had to leave which was absurd! We were already tired from driving as much as 17 hours and had to all get into our 5 vehicles and drive around some more. We then got a call 5 minutes later saying they were done. What a bunch of S@$t!! They didn't have time to do anything except inconvenience us. It gets better. We get into the house and all the sheets and towels, we paid extra for, are dirty from the last residents. If the house was cleaned then the new linens should have been dropped off. The company argued with us about that issue and after looking around more, it also didn't look like the house was cleaned very well. The couple who booked the house, went down to the main office to discuss the issues and everyone there acted like they were too busy to help and were being interrupted. I have been involved in the customer service industry for years and a simple were sorry and will get it corrected right away would have gone along way but not by this group. It seems they have too many different groups doing various tasks but not one central person to coordinate and make sure it all gets done correctly. There were other issues throughout the week but at some point you just give up, so you don't ruin your whole vacation. I could go on and on about various other items but all I know is that we will get the word out to as many people as possible to never use this company! read more
