After doing some research it looked like MOCA over my existing coax would be ideal. I hired Rob and his team earlier this summer (June 2021) to hardwire my 3 level townhome with Ethernet and terminate all the connections into a 6U networking rack. I also had him mount a TV on the wall and route the wiring behind the wall. I contacted about 6 vendors to get quotes and Rob was the only vendor who would not give a quote without inspecting the location. That's a plus in my book, since that way you can get realistic estimates and the contractor gets an idea of the challenges involved. Rob arrived promptly for the quote, took notes of the locations where I wanted the drops, estimated how long of a run each drop would be from the networking rack and how the drop would be wired, making a note of the number of cuts that would be needed per drop. He also let me know that his team would make sure that each drywall cut would be patched/spackled and I would only need to paint over them. This was an advantage since most of the contractors I got quotes from would not fix their drywall cuts, which would have required me to hire a drywall contractor to fix/patch their cuts. I received an estimate from Rob the following week and the pricing was extremely competitive, especially when accounting for the drywall patches. He gave me a payment schedule and a job start and end date. He also let me know what parts I needed to purchase - a network rack and a power distribution system of my choice. Rob and his team arrived promptly each day, let me know what areas they'd be working in and kept me abreast of progress. Due to the unique construction of my townhome, Rob encountered a few unforeseen issues but he was able to devise plans on the fly to get around the obstacles and proceed with the work. The job took a day longer than originally planned due some of these unforeseen issues, but Rob was able to adjust his schedule and help finish up the job the next day. Rob's attention to detail deserves special mention, from planning the project to its execution- especially in the way the TV was mounted with the wires hidden (and separated in two channels - low voltage and line). They professionally installed 4 Ethernet drops throughout all three levels of the house, patched all the drywall holes and did a great job with setting up the cable management in the basement and following up to make sure I had gotten my router and APs set up well. Throughout the job they asked my opinion where ever needed on location of the jacks, where to run the cables in exposed mechanical room, etc. I would definitely recommend them for any home networking and Ethernet wiring work and will use them again if I have further need. read more

Rob wall mounted two TVs in my condo and hid the wires in the walls. We thought for about .0002 seconds about doing this ourselves and I am SO happy we didn't. He also moved the electrical outlets and did things we just couldn't have done. He was recommended by a neighbor who had a TV installed over her fireplace and sung their praises. We are very happy with how things look, but Rob was over an hour late to our appointment than he was scheduled to be and needed much more time than I had or had been quoted to get the work done. Thankfully my husband had a surprise day off and could make things work, but if that had not been the case I would have been in a real bind! (They said they would arrive at 8, but at 7:45 I received a text saying they would be there between 8:30-9:00. They arrived at 9:30, which still wasn't within their later window). I had told them I needed to be done by 11:30, which they said was no problem, but they were there until 1:30pm). Part of the reason this took so long is that this appears to be a really small operation, as Rob took calls and scheduled other appointments throughout his time with us that took time away from completing the work for us. The install also came at a slightly higher price due to some additional parts he hadn't quoted me for, which just felt a bit excessive given how expensive the installation was already and the fact that it was pretty standard for both TVs. I'd still go back to them for other A/V needs (like a soundbar or moving our router or installing an nest, for example). Rob was really really nice and walked us through every step of the process, so I didn't feel like the upcharge was an attempt to hose us, I just wish it had been calculated in at the get-go. read more

I used this service back before COVID-19 in February and had Rob mount one of my televisions in my bedroom. He did a great job. He and I discussed through Thumbtack and text messages him coming back out to my home to install possibly a outdoor video camera and mounting another television in my basement. Sadly after COVID, there was a halt which I understand and was myself unwilling to have contractors in my home. However as Thumbtack was back in service some months later in June, Rob would not respond back to me via Thumbtack and stated the level of demand picked up and he was very busy. Again, I understood. However as a paying customer who submitted prior to COVID a request for work to be completed, I thought I was seen equally the same as others who were getting services completed. I could have been offered help from someone else in the company but instead I felt ignored as I reached out in June and recently this month (October) and after several messages to Rob, I stopped and took my money to another company. Sadly I have to get Trebor 2 stars (updated due to lack of responsiveness and the how my 5 star rating for 1 job was used as a means for trying to cover up the lack of response in Thumbtack). The work for the price was good but customer service not so much. I've since paid another company to mount 2 televisions and other technical work that was needed. I would recommend this company but would say to be aware that customer service may not be the top priority for everyone equally. Update: It speaks volumes that Rob would respond to this comment through Yelp but not in thumbtack and yes I had given your company 5 stars in thumbtack based on the service completed in February 2020 for the one tv mounted but however the lack of responsiveness from July through now in October 2020 is what I am speaking of not to mention of course how you have just responded shows my exact point. In customer service you should seek to make things right and supply a resolution, not try to hide behind a 5 star rating given months ago for a job that is not the subject of this review. I finally decided that I wanted to remove my personal hack-job of a home networking setup, and get a professional to come in and run ethernet drops through the walls. I had very specific requests. I wanted a minimum of 10 gbps, and over shielded lines to minimize cross-talk. I reached out to several companies. Many flat out said no the moment I mentioned shielded lines, saying it was "too difficult to work with". A few companies came out, and said no because it was more of a construction job. One or two companies answered questions in such a way where I doubted they knew all of the things needed to utilize shielded lines, or make the appropriate cuts in the wall to run the lines. Finally I found Rob. He came out to the house almost immediately. He completely understand what I was trying to do, and laid out an exact plan to achieve that. I hired Rob to run fiber cabling from outside into our apartment, a fairly involved project requiring running concealed conduits, installing an exterior junction box, running cable through a wall and into our living room. Rob was very professional even when I needed to reschedule a date to accommodate my schedule. Rob had all of the equipment he needed on his truck which was helpful. Rob and team helped us extend several CAT5e wires that were severed during a remodel into a closet that we plan to use to house our multimedia equipment. The challange was the wires were short, so there was limited material to work with. Thus, we needed to use a vendor that wouldn't make a mistake.
