Tree house was one, the DJ playing with the lights was all I needed to hear and see to get me in here. I got in early enough I didn't have to pay a cover. Upstairs are 2 spaces to sit/stand outside and people watch while having a drink and the inside is a bar and a small dance floor. It was the perfect spot for me, everyone was having a great time. People were actually dancing on the floor or against the wall, the bartenders were very friendly I enjoyed the drinks and the vibe it was a great time. I was lured into Tree House while on vacation by the sounds of the band playing. They were out on the balcony despite the drizzly weather. The band was really good, even though it was obviously that the pianist and the drummer were fill-ins. They were truly professional and got up to speed with each song quickly, but the singer and bassist obviously knew what was going on as they'd worked together before. Anyway - to the bar! It was your average dive bar. There was an extensive beer wall list. The drinks list was very sugary and more for 20-somethings. Not my vibe, so I went for gin. Just beware that this is the only place that uses a wand to make sure you have nothing on you (ie security). We found out there were 2 shootings there in the last year. I love the Tree House! I make an effort to stop here every time I'm in Savannah. Try to score an outside seat on the balcony. This gives you a perfect opportunity to people watch and enjoy the busyness of City Market. They have some great mixed drinks. The servers are nice and on top of their game considering this place can get pretty packed. It is annoying when it's crowded just because the line for the one ladies room gets stupid long and at times the floor becomes packed with dancers and it's tough to navigate across. Great for bar business, not so great for a low key patron such as myself. However, most of the time it's great especially in the afternoon/ earlier evening hours. I am from Wisconsin and visiting the area, I was out with my brother and my girlfriend on a Friday night and one of the bouncers definitely tried scamming us. No cover for my girlfriend and me but tried getting $5 from my brother even though the only money transaction as you're getting in is tips for them (which I'm sorry I'm not doing because I'm already spending a good amount at the bar upstairs). Went even to the extent to get my brother to charge his phone to cash app the bouncer because his phone was dead. When we turned back to ask what was taking so long the bouncer just told him to go, I'm assuming he didn't know he was with us and knew we figured something weird was going on. I've given this place so many chances every time I come visit Savannah. But it always disappoints. To start, the bar tenders are the absolute worst. They give you an attitude when you order like you're an inconvenience, and then make your drink THEIR way but get mad when you say it's wrong. Second, their bathrooms are TERRIBLE. Pictures attached. We loved the idea of a rooftop party in Savannah so we decided to come in and check it out! It is decorated as if it is a true tree house which is fun and the DJ was great and catered to the olderish crowd that was here on the Friday night that we decided to venture. Where the stars are lost: I ordered a margarita and it was tequila with orange juice and a squeeze of lime. It came as a double and I did not ask for a double nor did I ask for my tab to be closed and was immediately handed a receipt with my drink. I danced the night away to one of the best DJs I've ever heard and had such a phenomenal time. This place got PACKED around 11-12am but the bartenders (usually 4-5 working behind the bar) were super attentive and quick to serve you up some good spirits! The outdoor patio provided a nice escape from the sweaty pile of people, however lots of people smoking out there so beware if that bothers you. You have to climb multiple levels of steps....yes you are in a "Tree House" atmosphere. The gimmick is cute; however, the place doesn't look very well maintained. The biggest plus are the decks on the outside where you can people watch. Drinks are expensive and not well poured...but you have a view!
