What a fun night!
Jacqueline T.

After dinner, we walked around and wanted to check out the Barrelhouse. In the basement area, there are a few pool tables and we enjoyed a few rounds of game. It got a little busy Tuesday night after 8 pm. As we headed up to the ground level, we saw a live band with awesome music and a few people are dancing and enjoying the chill ambience. We ordered a few more drinks and stayed till the band's last song at 11:30 pm. Really had a cool and fun experience at this bar.

This place was ok but things quickly turned sour. The security guy "chase" choke hold my husband for trying to help a friend who went out for a smoke to come back in to continue playing pool. He assaulted my husband for no reason and was uncalled for. Don't ever come here. As a tourist, I have a sour taste of savanna hospitality. This is not ok. This place is not safe to come out as a group. The guy grabbed him by his neck and threw him on the street. We were all inside playing pool peacefully, but I guess caring for someone it's wrong. I was inside waiting for them. After waiting's long time I came outside to see what was happening. The shit head security said that was his job, really? That's your job? I don't think so. We don't assault people for caring. If I could give this place a minus star, I would. Never would I ever come back! This is not how we treat people.

Barrelhouse South is one of the few nightlife options for the late night crowd in Savannah. They have a large bar and live music here. We saw two different bands, which were both awesome. They did some great covers and they even got the crowd dancing. The bartenders were really fun and were joking around. Some people sitting at the table across from us got food here which did look good too. The flip side of this being a fun bar is that some people were out of control here. We were continuously being badgered by one guy and I had to tell him to get lost. Someone also threw up in the women's bathroom sink. I know that this isn't the fault of the business but seriously I just will always remember this place for that. The pro was that when I told one of the bartenders what had happened they had someone clean it up really fast. We had fun here but the experience was a bit hit or miss. We really enjoyed the live music but the crowd was wild.

Fun and games in the basement.

Happened upon this place while roaming the historic district on a recent visit. Street level bar definitely has an EDM/dance club vibe, complete with light show and dance music. Not my style, but it may be yours. A few steps down into the basement, you'll find a different vibe: alt/punk music playing, pool tables, skew ball, shuffle board table. Low key and casual... A couple local beers on tap, which I make a point to enjoy while traveling. Side note: I am absolutely positive that I was the only person there without a tattoo. And there were some pretty epic tattoos on display.

My go-to when I visit Savannah. Bartenders are hustling and the DJ or band know how to read the audience. Makes so many good memories!

Flat 12 oz Dos Equis for $8. College football Saturday. Only one game on TV. Not a sports bar and not worth your time.

Jasmine was the best. Super fast bartender and cares about the people she's serving even though it's a nightclub.

These are a must try if you like wings. Chicken and pancake tacos were delicious. Pancakes had a touch of sweetness. Fried chicken inside with a spicy mayo. Topped with a strawberry salsa that worked well. 3 of these were very filling. Fun and very good. Son had the double wide footlong. Topped with sloppy Joe. After that the 2 sides were different. One had fried banana peppers. The other side more classic with toppings. Son said it was really good. Others had the ahi tuna salad. Tuna was perfectly rare. The pizza itself was dry and lacked sufficient tomato sauce, resulting in a very bland product that was essentially plain dough and cheese More importantly, I had a negative encounter with a server named Julia. When I requested a knife from Julie at the register, she informed me she would bring it to the table but failed to do so. Upon following up with Ashley, I was provided one immediately from the same location where Julie had been standing. When I later addressed the delay with Julia, she responded snarkily, stating "well you didn't order from me and you're not my table so I don't have to get you a knife. I said if you work here and I ask for a knife, if you feel you don't want to get it for me, then as an employee, you get whomever rang me up to assist me but either way, I walked to the cash register and asked for a knife and she could have easily reached under the shelf and handed me a knife just as Ashley did. I attempted to speak with the manager on duty, Justin, but he was busy at the bar. While I was waiting to speak with Justin, Julia brushed past me touching the spoon that was in my hand. After a bit of time passed by, I chose to leave rather than continue waiting. I hope this feedback is helpful in improving both the food quality and the service standards to ensure a better experience for future patrons at your restaurant.

When we chose it we didn't realize that there are a few other Treylor Parks - all with their own concepts. The service was a little lukewarm at first, but got progressively better. We went on Father's Day and expected it to be a little busier, but maybe we missed the rush. My husband started off with a Bloody Mary - all the way. It came with a pickle juice shooter that at first sounded a little weird, but was actually tasty. We started with fried green tomatoes. They were definitely different than any I had ever had. First it was tempura. YAY! Most are cornmeal and the texture is weird. These were so good. It came with a pimento cheese topper. It was my first time having pimento cheese and I loved it! I had the grilled apple pie chicken sandwich. I was a little worried it would be super sweet but it was not. It was perfectly balanced. My husband had the Treylor Park Pot Pie. So we got there for 6:30, and knew we had to leave by 8:20, as we had a ghost tour shortly thereafter and we told our waiter as such. Unfortunately, despite not ordering an appetizer and going straight to mains, we didn't get our dinner until 7:55pm. The reason it happened was the waiter accidentally ordered us the seafood special, not the steak special. They were apologetic about it, but still, a dinner we were looking forward to turned to a rushed scarfing down of food. Would have been nice if they comped one of the dinners, or offered a free round of drinks for the inconvenience. As for the meal itself - the shrimp dinner was meh - only came with 6 shrimp for $32 (pirates house shrimp dinner tasted better and came with over a dozen large shrimp). The ribeye was perfectly cooked, but needed more seasoning. My guess is because they rushed it, they may have forgotten the salt. The steak sauce (tamarind forward a1) wasn't my cup of tea. On the positives - both of the sides were amazing - highly recommend they put those on the main menu. All in all - there's too many good restaurants in Savannah, I doubt I'll be coming back. Given the ambiance, maybe good idea to come for a drink and dessert? (Although the wine pour was a little weak too).
